Six of Pentacles – The main meaning, expressed here in the picture, of Six of Pentacles is a scrupulously fair exchange, especially an exchange of money for services, which expands a little to paying or receiving a fair price for anything. Note that ‘exchange’ includes paying and receiving, so Six of Pentacles equally applies to either end of a transaction.

Then Six of Pentacles expands to exchanges of anything else – in which case the ‘scrupulous’ requirement may be waived. Here are the most frequent non-money transfers Six of Pentacles will appear for: Giving and getting attention, being treated fairly or treating others fairly; giving or getting medicine (suggested by the small objects going into the hand of the kneeling people), which also expands to other medical type treatment that is dispensed. Six of Pentacles emphasizes fairness and legal matters because of the scales in its illustration. Getting paid fairly, getting the attention you deserve, and even righting a wrong or paying a fine belong to Six of Pentacles.
Moon – The picture here is meant to be scary and evil. The two towers mark the end of the flat earth ‘where dragons be’ in Rider Waite’s Moon. The road is the road to hell which in non-Christian myth is marked by those towers. (Non-Christian hells abound – Wikipedia gives sketches of them.) A combination sliver- and full- moon contains a frowning face. Lobster, purple, is going on a land journey. A coyote and dog, natural enemies, howl at the moon together. This depicts chaos and evil in a scary way. So Moon can mean anything bad, and means ‘bad.’

The picture is ‘the Left-hand Path’ of black magic as Ace of Pentacles pictures ‘the Right-hand Path’ of goodness and success.

The redeeming-value meanings of Moon come from its separate tradition of being inspiring, The Muse, and poetic experience in general. It therefore today translates ‘far-out ways,’ ‘imaginatively,’ and ‘very weird.’ (Bizarre is a Moon word.)

Since the road goes the wrong way (or to the wrong place) in Moon, ‘mistake,’ ‘lost’ and ‘wrong’ are very frequent translates for it. Synonyms of these today are blunder, the worst, the worst time, dirty, hazards, error. Moon today also is chaos, impossible, crooked, disability. My mental shorthand for Moon is ‘maximum fuckedupness’ because it modifies surrounding cards that way. It signals serious illness and disease, and is one of the black magic theme cards.
Knight of Pentacles – In Knight of Pentacles, physical strength and energy meet mental focus and thinking. Like Page of Pentacles, Knight of Pentacles pays intense attention. Each of them stares a that pentacle. In Knight of Pentacles, focusing on one thing, and having one priority, combine with drive.

You can think of Knight of Pentacles as growing up to be Chariot (the driven ambitious skilled ‘get it done any way you can’ man who has arrived at being the manager of a major endeavor or project).

Looking back, I can see how, if I had not royally screwed up at some point, I would not be looking at this really good life I’m into now. This isn’t just about benefiting from hard lessons, but also about the lines of coincidence that make up our destiny. I took a bad job but it led to a new and better career as I made lemonade from the lemons of life. I encountered such bullying when I was very young that I am a world-class expert on people who take advantage and how to foil their inroads.
