Tarot Readings for you for October 17, 2014 Friday©
GUIDANCE Once in a while you come upon a born loner who is intense and competent. That kind of person finds a skill and hones it to the nth degree, then finds a niche in that skill – often as an expert and often as a consultant – and occupies it. This takes that guy or girl out of the competition: They own some specialized turf and are untouchable, entrepreneurial. The personality of this kind of person is intense, is private, and seems noncompetitive until you tread upon his or her turf. Today we feature – and salute – that person.

Now, Part Two,
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,
*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined three pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here. It explains how these three cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONSis a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.
*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures. It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say. It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.
You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.
This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Nine of Pentacles – Five of Wands – Page of Cups
.
.
………………….…………………… Page of Cups puts our spread into a quizzical territory, a what-if zone. Nine of Pentacles’ whole spectrum is featured in this spread. Nine of Pentacles is the private lady, the businesswoman or entrepreneur. She is independent, she ‘Don’t need nobody.’ Five of Wands is competition, as well as trying hard and being against … so we have different scenarios regarding an entrepreneur and/or an independent dame. Stay tuned for the next episode.
…………………………. . Nine of Pentacles is a woman (or person) who – in whatever strata of society she finds herself- manages to get a turf of her own in which she is unapproachable, independent – where she owns the scene. She can be a homebody. Sometimes she is head of the family clan. She can be a landholder to accomplish this position (owning property, owning a business, or owning her niche in a business). Nine of Pentacles is unapproachable … she brooks no interference. She is standing, and she has standing. This person tends to live single even if married. Nine of Pentacles is an ally of World in many of these meanings.
Nine of Pentacles defines the person who has chosen a niche – whatever it is – and occupies it, bypassing competition. Like Steve Jobs? Most often, expertise is the key factor. You put down roots, and bloom where you plant yourself.
………………………….. Five of Wands is working up a sweat literally or figuratively – exertion. Exercise, intense involvement, competition, sports, trying hard, striving intensely, energy and energetic, fighting, fighting for, fighting against, struggling, being against, quarreling, throwing yourself into something: These are the provinces of Five of Wands. Five of Wands is ‘whole hog’ about something. It also means violence or violent.
………………………….. Page of Cups is one great big question mark. Watch it even translate ‘question,’ ‘questionable,’ and ‘questioning’ or ‘Ask questions.’ Confusion is the hallmark of Page of Cups. Dressed in women’s clothes, he carries a fish in a cup. Awkwardness is a general tone of this Tarot card, and this fellow has a fairly dull-witted but amiable look on his face. Words like goofball, weirdo, muddleheaded, etc. belong to this Tarot card in Tarot Verbatim™. It shows up when you don’t understand, don’t ‘get it.’ It shows up for that awkward feeling you get socially when you want to be polite but, uh, er, ahem, don’t know what you could say. That same feeling that arises when something is disclosed that ‘ought not to be aired.’
Page of Cups tends to translate phrases with ‘idea’ in them, like: silly idea, dumb idea, arresting idea, foreign idea, strange idea, no idea why, what-do-ya-know?
You also find Page of Cups representing that ‘What’s up?’ or ‘Something’s up’ feeling when you suspect something, smell a rat, you feel quizzical.
One of Page of Cups’ main functions is to put your sentence into question form, or – when it is the first Self card in a Celtic Cross spread – to alert the reader: The following is not going to make sense, but it it is correct. You can rely on this! When you are asking how a person who is not realistic things or feels, this card becomes the first Self card, to alert you … ‘it makes sense to them.’
Lastly, Page of Cups can refer to an other-than-straight gender or sexual orientation. Another rare meaning is being inappropriately dressed – wearing a ‘getup.’ Page of Cups is also about humor, ‘cutting up,’ being a comic, having a goofy moment … you know … your own weird side.
……….………….. Nine of Pentacles and Five of Wands We have getting involved with in Five of Wands, and we have the businesswoman, the eccentric lady, the woman who is unmoved or unimpressed, the single lady, the one who ‘has it made,’ and the owner of the property. Then we have ‘not interested in sports or exercising. Five of Wands is opposing, and Nine of Pentacles is competent women and/or women in power. Nine of Pentacles and Five of Wands is being neutral in a struggle, minding your own business in a fight. Nine of Pentacles came out on top of the Five of Wands competition, too.
………..………….. Nine of Pentacles and Page of Cups Nine of Pentacles is the no-nonsense dame, and Page of Cups is the oddball dude: strange bedfellows, yes? Page of Cups is being funny, and Nine of Pentacles is unmoved, not amused. These two read ‘How can you be content with things as they are?’ because Nine of Pentacles is very much content with where she is, and Page of Cups is a question about that. She is so straight, and he is so not-straight. We get ‘How did she come out on top?’ when you add that question mark of Page of Cups to the successful woman.
……………………… Five of Wands and Page of Cups Five of Wands and Page of Cups These could say ‘What’s the fight about?’ or ‘Why fight?’ Do you see ‘I try so hard’ (Five of Wands) ‘to be funny’ (Page of Cups)? Intensely involved (Five of Wands) with a strange person or thing. ‘Why are you against?’ is another. Competitive sports are just silly. It’s silly to go against, too. And even ‘How can they fight with you?’
Between the lines, we are being invited to be devout about minding our own business here. “How can she be so above-the-fray?” We draw first a picture of someone who is successful in his or her own right without joining in the fray of competition, and doing this by acquiring a skill that confers that status. (It could be the best pool player at the beer parlor, you know.) Then we picture a person who is content with things as they are, who is a homebody and enjoying every minute of it, and not being drawn into anybody’s anything, thank you very much. These can be the same person, of course.
Then up comes the reminder: This is eccentric, people are gonna think you’re weird. This spread invites you to not care about that. “Mind your own business, and how can they fight with you?” is our flagship reading, in my view. There’s a country saying ‘People who don’t pay your rent don’t have a say in how you live.’

.
Nine of Pentacles ……… Nine of Pentacles minds her own business expertly, and doesn’t mind yours. This person makes a kingdom and occupies it – whatever it is – and is content within its scope. Competence, expertise, fluid self-control, and privacy is the cherry on top. You see her in her vineyard training her falcon (Yeah, that’s supposed to be a falcon.) dressed in an elaborate robe at midday, and a snail is at her feet. All the signs say: Lady does things in her own sweet time, and is exactly where she wants to be. Bloom where you’re planted: Here’s to you doing as well.
.
Five of Wands …………. Five of Wands shows five fellows whacking one another with boards. Its meanings come directly from its picture: exertion, exercise, intense involvement, competition, sports, trying hard, striving intensely, energy and energetic, fighting, fighting for, fighting against, struggling, being against, quarreling, throwing yourself into something: These are the provinces of Five of Wands. It can support a theme of violence.
.
Page of Cups ………. Page of Cups is about confusion and having questions. There’s a feeling it represents, a kind of ‘What the heck?’ tone that applies to different situations. Here’s a fellow who flaunts his weirdness: He wears a dress and carries a fish. Makes you wonder: That’s Page of Cups. It is one of the cards that in Tarot Verbatim™ puts its sentence into question form. It actually means the word ‘question’ and advises Querants ask questions.
