Six of Swords – Leaving the scene, broken, headed elsewhere for a better life. You can apply Six of Swords as the leaving, as the trip, or as the destination. You can apply Six of Swords as the sad times the refugees are escaping, as the hopeful looking forward to the better life, or as the trip or journey. These are the main ways you use Six of Swords.

Life is improving in Six of Swords. It is about getting over, getting out; it is about ‘not anymore,’ things not being as they used to be. The oppression has lifted; the bad scene – today a scandal maybe – is being lived down.

Watch for Six of Swords to be one of those ‘on the road’ cards about a trip – especially a trip over water. Today it is even about passing through. But keep in mind Six of Swords is “I’m outta here!” too. Leaving the scene, setting out to avoid, to find your way out.
Ten of Pentacles – In Tarot Verbatim, Ten of Pentacles is the negative marriage card. If the other positive marriage cards are already in use in the spread, Ten of Pentacles can be promoted into being just another marriage card. Think of Ten of Pentacles as “People who have trouble or people who are trouble.” That’s the short of it. Ten of Pentacles is a relationship in trouble – anywhere, any number, greater than one, of people.

So Ten of Pentacles is the dysfunctional human organization of any breadth (from the couple to the world court). It is defective-unit people who don’t get along; it is the problem the family has (those relatives!); it is people not getting along; it is politics wherever it shows up – including in a company’s culture.
Seven of Cups – A cloud of bad spirits escapes, getting a head start on the one good spirit, in both Sorcerer’s Apprentice (pictured here) and Pandora’s box. So Seven of Cups is about mischievous or bad spirits, about things getting out of hand, about how reckless doing something you know nothing about is.

In Seven of Cups, you find the needle in the haystack (the ‘one chance in a million), a cloud (of any sort) or fog; brain fog, scatterbrained, things out of control, delusion. You also find shock and amazement.

In Seven of Cups you also find a storm because of the cloud, anything messed up or muddled or shattered, or in pieces like storm debris or the hunks of things in the cups. And by the way, that good spirit is under the veil in the top center cup, making Seven of Cups represent: There’s hope even though things are out of control and you are in shock.

Seven of Cups will appear for scandal, for something being stirred up, and for getting lost – as well as other miscellaneous things you see it apply to from time to time.
