Six of Wands Here’s the Pyrrhic victory, the lucky break that turns out to be not so. Six of Wands tells you not to trust the environment, not to trust appearances: “Things are not as they seem.” Usually it is about a hidden hazard because this picture illustrates the abduction by Arabs of the English King during a battle he won with that enemy. But sometimes Six of Wands is telling you things are not as bad as they seem too. Not as often, of course.

.

Today, Six of Wands – along the lines of hidden hazards – is using these words and phrases: games

His agenda

the person he pretends to be

unethical

Act like

phony

Things are not as they seem

Looks like (he) can

misleading

is only pretending

cheat

phony

two-faced people

this person is up to something

because of an ulterior motive

mooches

take advantage

be taken advantage of

take advantage of each other

.

But Six of Wands expands to the situation not to be trusted rather than just a person or people – expands to ‘forces beyond your control.’ Here are those phrases: when one is his own worst enemy; unintended complications; when you’re under the influence.

.

Far less obvious are the times in Tarot Verbatim™ that an ordinary business factor has more effect or influence than is apparent. Examples of this today are: inducement; sales pitch; overhead.

Two of Swords Two of Swords is as simple as Six of Wands is complex. 18 times today, Two of Swords translates negative words in its duty as a negator.

.

8 times, it translates as these words and phrases which have the same meaning but aren’t simple negatory words: No _ allowed; is not getting; ends it; even if you are not; and you ain’t interested; non; n’t; Don’t have anything to do with it.

.

The rather puzzling picture shows a woman holding huge heavy broadswords flat side facing us in her crossed arms. It is the middle of the night. She is in skimpy night clothes. She is blindfolded. She sits with her back to the large body of water, upon a stone bench, all alone. She is stuck.

Three of Pentacles Here’s our old friend Three of Pentacles: It knows everybody and gets along with all the other cards really well. The main word for Three of Pentacles is ‘relationship.’ Today, several phrases echo the idea of relationship: in this relationship; in our clubhouse; when he is with you; in the relationship; you are one of them; they are getting along; let them _ each other; friend of yours; together because of; teamwork is working out.

.

Business relationships are a large part of Three of Pentacles’ scope. Our illustration shows a business deal in progress: the settling up of a contract between a builder and his clients. Here are business relationship words from today’s post: in this transaction; you get a fair deal; vendor getting the business; the prices are fair there; hold up his end of the job; It’s a proposition; profit; buy; profit with that; deal with; fair to others.

.

The part about the contract and the agreement between the parties, the meeting of the minds you see in the illustration, grows out of the business-deal-in-progress meanings.

.

The legal meanings also grow out of that contract scene. We are not using them today.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

To the left in Six of Wands we have, say, the crooked deal. To the right in Three of Pentacles we emphatically have the straight deal (fair and square). And WHAT do we have in between them?: NO WAY! In Two of Swords. This spread makes our messages rather more focused than usual. Many of the sentences – and there would be even more of them, but I pared them out – are stories about not being taken advantage of but dealing fair and square. “No mooches allowed in our clubhouse.” “Disloyalty in the relationship ends it.”

.

Six of Wands has some innocuous (innocent) meanings. One of them is about fitting into a role, conforming to the people around you. “Act like you are one of them even if you are not.” Fake it until you make it.

.

Six of Wands (our star card, you know by now) addresses unseen and unforeseen factors that affect what people are doing together – not just persons who have an indirect influence upon what’s going on. Today we have sentences like these that give you a very strong idea on this concept of unseen factors: Not fair to others when one is his own worst enemy. Aren’t together because of unintended complications. No meeting of the minds when you’re under the influence. There is no inducement in this transaction.

There comes a time in the life of some of us that we are done with all the games, whether the scenario is rewarding to us or costs us. We are indifferent to the sales pitches, and not interested in the bonus gifts. We are going to do our part whether the other party or parties do theirs or not. GUIDANCE          Acting, or not acting, the way you really feel: That is our rumination today. Don’t respond to insincere friendships, and don’t act loving when you don’t feel that way. Some people are honest naturally, and some people are even brutally and casually honest naturally. You find yourself inclined one way or another when it comes to being yourself, and today we are meditating on that sort of thing being more choice than mere inclination.

Six of WandsWhat you see here illustrates a false victory or Pyrrhic victory. In a battle he actually wins against those Arabs, an English king pursues retreaters and ends up in a trap, abducted into captivity for the rest of his life. And this was arranged by the next-in-line to the throne, who made sure the Arabs kept the real king. Your tip-off to ‘things are not as they seem here’ is the horse looking back at you. Tarot Verbatim™ is (so far anyway) the only system in which Six of Wands means just that: ‘things are not as they seem; do not trust the environment.’

.

Pretense is a large part of Six of Wands. Today it translates ‘acts like’ quite a few times. Here are phrases today that express the pretense, the act: the game, up to something, puts on an act, pretending to be, the whole routine, interfere in your life and act like, up to something, so phony, acting insincerely.

.

Six of Wands is one of the cards for ‘the user’ and for being influenced by another person against your best interests. The other main one is Two of Cups (another card Tarot Verbatim™ differs from other systems). ‘Being influenced by another against your interest’ includes propaganda, being recruited or recruiting, seduction, being induced to do or to buy (or even to be) something. Getting on the bandwagon and being a missionary for whatever the wagon is carrying: that’s Six of Wands all right.

.

And both Six of Wands and Two of Cups extend to betrayal, double-cross, and frenemies. The smiling traitor is found in both these cards, especially when they appear in the same spread.

.

Six of Wands is about the effect of influence upon a person, and this could be the influence of something rather than someone. Today with Six of Cups it’s ‘the old neighborhood’ and childhood. Six of Wands is also about what it would cost you to do, or to be (whatever). And this Six of Wands card today even is ‘when you weren’t yourself’!

Four of Swords Lying there. Lying there thinking. That’s what you see, and that is the core meaning of Four of Swords. The story behind the picture makes Four of Swords the card for meditation, but that is a rare meaning unless that’s what your questions are all about. Lying on the remains of the saint or hero his church houses, meditating on his life purpose as a knight, is part of the process of becoming a knight of the realm.

.

So you have a time out from the usual activities. Sleep, rest, vacation, being quiet, recuperation, not participating, withdrawing – things like that belong here in Four of Swords. Not participating is a title you often see for this card in Tarot books. Not taking action, not joining in. So Four of Swords often ends up as a negator card (a negative modifier to another card). The other card will specify what the ‘not’ refers to, so that Four of Swords just translates the negative word. Here are today’s examples of that, which I am putting in a list because reading this straight-ahead is not comfortable:

[NOT, NOT NOW, NOT THAT WAY, CAN’T, NOT RESPONDING]

not

I’m not

is not really with it

not at the moment

is not really with it

not at the moment

if you can’t _, don’t

when he really isn’t

not addressing

it’s not that way

but isn’t going to put up with them

but not

he’s not

not responding to

you just can’t be

.

The next main meaning for Four of Swords is being indifferent, being unaffected, not being bothered, not caring – tuning out the environment in other words. I am turned off, or I am so over it.

.

Lastly, our knight-candidate is remaining there. Is inert. Phrases for this are not immediately apparent sometimes: Today we have ‘ends up.’ Four of Swords often translates ‘still’ as in ‘still there’ or being still and quiet.

Six of Cups Oh, the far-flung disparate and wide-ranging meanings of Six of Cups! All these meanings are in the story of the picture, but they are otherwise not connected. What you see is Little Boy Giving Little Girl Flowers in a neighborhood, and the picture is in a sentimental style. Today, out of that scene, we have these main headline meanings for this picture:

[LOVE, ROMANCE, COURTSHIP, ROMANTIC SCENE, LOVING INTENTION]

[NAIVE, KID, SWEET, CHILDHOOD, CHILDREN, JUVENILE, WARM FUZZY]

[FRIEND]

[INNOCENT]

[FAVOR, GIFT]

[NEIGHBORHOOD]

[THE PAST]

Love and romance, loving feeling. The good old days, or simply times past. A quaint or comfy house or cottage, or the old neighborhood. Childhood and children. Giving or getting a gift – and birthday and Valentine’s gifts are featured. Warm fuzzy anythings, including warm friendship or old friends … or old lovers. And the past, mainly the nostalgic pleasant past, unless another rude card butts in and modifies Six of Cups’ pleasant message.

Interesting. To the left we have insincerity in Six of Wands; to the right we have sincerity in Six of Cups. In the middle, we have not being or not doing. Right away, you see all sorts of stories and scenarios. Lots: The sentences you see here are ‘the pick of the litter.’

.

Six of Wands is always a tricky-to-apply card. You know something’s probably up, but not exactly what. Things are not as they seem, so you look under the rocks and look twice. Your friend acts like he’s not doing anything behind your back? Just let the friend betray you? It’s a murky scene but you still trust your buddy? Often, with Six of Wands, you look to the story in the question or issue you have presented Tarot with to determine where the potential no-see-um is.

.

Six of Wands and Four of Swords are both not expressing, whereas Six of Cups is giving out sweetness. Four of Swords is laying low, and Six of Wands could be ‘layin’ for ya.’ And with Six of Wands being pretense or just acting like or insincere, Six of Cups could be only acting sweet or only pretending to be your friend … or you could be subtly influencing that crook to act trustworthy. Always remember that ‘The action can go both ways’ in Tarot (meaning any of the ways, of course). That’s how Seven of Wands gets all its dimensions about both defending your property or your position, or being the pushy mouthy hellraiser demanding some entitlement: both the invasion and the defense.

I am completely at peace with my friends doing, saying, or being something behind my back. I don’t do anything to influence them to be sweet. I don’t trust them not to be ‘up to something’ either. Tarot Readings for You for October 26-27, 2017 Thursday-Friday©

The most common question in romance that psychics get asked is ‘Why won’t he?’  Gals always think something went wrong, or that they did some faux pas.  Often, that isn’t the case:  Gal has been careful.  Often, it’s an inner conflict with the guy – that’s actually the most often Tarot analysis that I report to an inquirer.  So here is a prime example of that.

.

You can learn to do talks with Tarot like this with the Tarot Email Training course, which you can investigate by activating that bar that says ‘Get Them Now.’

.

You can delve into the card’s interactions with one another, and into their individual meanings, by putting one or two cards’ names into a Google search bar.  Google sends you the archives of our site, and you can even click on the ‘more’ at the bottom of the set of six, and really get into those meanings, all seven years of them!

.

And you can get a 3-card Tarot analysis of whatever you are thinking about from Emily, done just like this one.  Start by going to the Email Reading navigation tab up there.  It’s inexpensive too.

.

.

Question:  He does not seem to want to be in any kind of relationship with me. When I ask him about it he always says that he is interested but does not make any plans and is unromantic. I want to know why he does not want to be with me, what went wrong, what’s stopping him?

This is the ancient story of a guy having to be Lord and Master not only of his fate but of his woman’s. And you clearly don’t even notice (Strength, Nine of Pentacles, Queen of Wands, World are all women who have their affairs in order and under control.)

.

What works best in a situation like this is to quit fiddling with the dial and let him sort himself out. He is hiding under the bed I call it; John Gray dignifies it ‘in his cave.’

.

Client says:

Sure, you have my permission to use any of my readings.

I actually expected that kind of answer to my question because in my own spreads it shows that he is thinking and thinking… I just hope it won’t take him a lifetime.

Thank you, you were very helpful and accurate as always.

.

Emily’s remark:

Tarot, especially Tarot Verbatim, talks to a person through his or her subconscious, so both of us got the same analysis of the same situation.   I love to see examples of that!

Tarot Readings for You for June 22-23, 2017 Thursday-Friday©

Here is a Tarot Verbatim™ Celtic Cross spread.  I accidentally used this form for this person’s Email Question.  Serendipity.  This spread is a good example of how there are 3 sentences in a Tarot Verbatim Celtic Cross layout, and how in Tarot Verbatim the similarity of the 3 sentences indicates the degree of accuracy of the reading.

Naturally, the client has agreed to share this story with you.

You can investigate these cards’ meanings by Googling them; you will get this site’s archives.  And you can get an answer to your question at the Email Reading navigation tab at the top of our site.

The category of life is:: Love
My question is::
is he married or still in love with wife? and am i the only woman he is interested in?

(1) Is he married or still in love with a wife?

He is committed to his marriage: His initiative, she is independent and single.

Magician

He is – Magician

Hierophant

committed – Hierophant

Magician

actively; it’s his initiative – Magician

Four of Wands

to his marriage – Four of Wands

+

Nine of Pentacles

And she is single and independent, content by herself. – Nine of Pentacles

I drew a fourth card on impulse, and it neatly tells you this isn’t a legal wife, that she is a single woman. She is content, so this isn’t a demanding ex.

(2) Am I the only woman he is interested in [other than Ms. Nine of Pentacles]?

First Sentence(s)

[Emperor looks like a truck driver here! A truck driver controls his world while he’s in the cab of his truck. The Self card represents him, the subject of your question.]

He is the boss in his sedentary controlling way, and he is proud to be flirting to (talking to) a strong woman who can handle him.

Emperor

He is the Boss in his sedentary controlling way – Emperor (Card 1. Self)

Page of Wands

and he is proud to be flirting with, talking to – Page of Wands  (Card 2. Situation)

Strength

an equally strong boss woman who can keep him in line. – Strength (Card 3. Crux/Situation)

He has always been and always will be the Italian Stallion/Studmuffin/Player.

Ten of Wands

He has always been – Ten of Wands (Card 4. Foundation)

King of Pentacles

and always will be the sexy man/player, the manipulative fellow. – King of Pentacles (Card 5. Future)

He is doing right, and he is entitled to, and he should have a sweet li’l gal at her home to be romantic with.

Justice

It’s right to, and he is entitled to, and he should – Justice (Card 6. Behind)

Six of Cups

be romantic with a sweet li’l gal at her home. – Six of Cups (Card 7. Ahead)

Second Sentence

I just can’t do without (would be miserable) a good solid home life with a partner.”

Eight of Swords

I just can’t – Eight of Swords (Card 8. Second Self)

Five of Pentacles

be without (I would be miserable) – Five of Pentacles (Card 9. Situation / Environment)

Four of Wands

a good solid home life with a ‘marriage’ partner. – Four of Wands (Card 10. Crux / Problem )

Third Sentence  – Outcome

It’s just as if he is back with his estranged wife who is also doing fine without him.

Six of Wands

It’s just as if – Six of Wands

Judgement

he is back with – Judgment

Queen of Swords

his estranged wife – Queen of Swords

Nine of Pentacles

who is also doing fine without him. – Nine of Pentacles

Emily adds:

I did not plan to put the fourth card on your first question; it just slipped out. And it created the whole reading which expresses perfectly the ‘wife in every port’ concept. Your fellow is very comfortable being a polygamist! Tarot says. I note he is ‘committed to his marriage,’ and his marriage is ‘her home.’ That’s the way I read this anyway.

And I did not plan to use Celtic Cross for your reading. That just slipped out too. But it really flows. And the Emperor as a truck driver is perfect, and new.

You can check the meanings of each card, or any pair, by Googling them.

And, by the way: In Tarot Verbatim, when the three sentences of the spread are parallel, it’s an indication of accuracy. The more accurate, the more they say the same thing.

Guidance

You get a little dizzy these days looking simultaneously at the way things are, and the way things really are. ‘The real physical world’ we say … even we who know the physical world isn’t all that real. Acting in the theater that we have agreed to call official reality limits our scope of experience, but act upon this surface we do. And today we also note that there are jokers who have their own version of the real world, and are ‘up to something’ using this three-dimensional reality sandwich we live in.

Could This Be You?

Picture this: You look at the cards in your spread.
You immediately get an idea because you know a few of them intimately.
AND you know a system that works because you have had a few

WHERE EACH PHRASE COMES FROM At a glance, with a color for each card, your subconscious picks up on how the sentences of GROUP TAROT CARDS READING came to be. You feel how individual card meanings reach out and blend, unite, into a sentence. (You can learn this – yes, you!) Your subconscious awareness sees the image and its feeling and your conscious awareness sees the language meaning, the text… so your two minds focus together to see 3D, three dimensionally, the same way your two eyes see depth that one eye does not.

PHRASES FOR ALL THREE TWO CARD COMBINATIONS Are you ready for the final step of this revolutionary Tarot Verbatim™ technique? Now to make it exceedingly plain and simple, we list the expressions each pair of cards makes. We list them in paragraph form rather than itemized so that they flow, and your subconscious clicks into place and ‘gets it.’ You may even find flashes of dreams or intuitive realities as you read these, at times.

The Rider Waite Tarot™ deck is a data bank in mass consciousness that your subconscious can communicate with. Tarot Verbatim™ is the Rosetta Stone that makes that communication easy because it is a bridge between conscious and subconscious thought. When both your levels of awareness focus together, you think intuitively in real time in ‘the real world.’

Synopsis

Sometime in your life (more than once), you have called upon yourself – in the presence of two people who each saw you in very different perspectives – to talk and act in such a way each of those people were comfortable. We suggest here that your normal day is like that – that you are one person to one set of folks, and yet another person to a few other sets. We step over these curbs all the time and think nothing of it, but, yes, we are negotiating and juggling several realities here. Think about that and appreciate your skill … and develop it.

Hierophant

Hierophant

Hierophant is about appearances, about ‘face,’ ‘face values,’ and – just like its meaning – it is a different character depending upon the company it is in. You see the pope doing a routine ritual with his usual helpers. Hierophant is about the distinction between what the ceremony means to the public, and to the theologians. The meanings about appearances rise from this deeper end of its pool of meanings. Looking good, seeming okay. It’s one of the cards that translates ‘good’ in various ways.

Normally, Hierophant means ‘normally’ – the usual, the routine, behaving oneself, being respectable and decent, being straight and sober, doing the right thing, ought, should, having good intentions. That stretches to include ‘safe’ and ‘no harm’ or ‘harmless.’ ‘Innocuous’ belong solidly to Hierophant.

Naturally, this is the card for church and religion. It makes a marriage card ‘holy matrimony,’ for instance.

Hierophant is associated with the word ‘physical,’ as is Page of Wands. Hierophant is about official reality, about certificates and titles and ‘on paper.’ It is one of the Tarot cards that can mean the name of something or someone (rarely – usually that’s Page of Wands). It means ‘committed’ too, which is (I guess) an outgrowth of the ‘official’ meanings. Committed couple is ‘an item.’

Six of Wands

Six of Wands

Seeing Hierophant in the company of Six of Wands alerts you to not take things at face value, because Six of Wands says: Things are not as they appear. And it’s a card that most readers (my opinion of course) miss its real meaning for what appears to be that. The horse is trying to tell you something!

Six of Wands is a false victory. Win the battle, lose the war. That’s what happened to an English king (Richard III, I believe). He won, and chased the invading Arabs into an ambush, and was their captive all his life thereafter.

One class of meanings for this complex Tarot card is all about pretense – similar to Two of Cups. (You hate to see Six of Wands and Two of Cups together, because something’s really up.) Here are some today’s Six of Wands words: Playing, pretending, seems, appears, fool yourself, go along with.

Six of Wands goes a little darker into deceit with these words sampled from today’s spread: sleazes, up to something, crook, seduce, has an agenda.

Six of Wands also looks at the same situation from the victim’s point of view with today’s words: tricked into, is misled.

Six of Wands also looks at the same situation as a circumstance rather than from one side or the other’s viewpoint with these phrases: due to circumstances beyond my control, so counterproductive, under the influence, is not in my best interest, unintended consequences, such reservations about.

Magician

Magician

Magician is one of the cards Tarot could do without, except for its ‘male principle’ status. That’s an esoteric thing, and Rider Waite is a Golden Dawn descendant. Male principle gives Magician its meanings. They are simple, so simple that in spreads Magician often gets lost in the verbs and pronouns other cards make. It mainly means ‘he’ and represents a (or the) guy in your spread’s story (as well as pronouns: I, myself, yourself, him, himself.

And Magician mainly means any form of ‘do’ or ‘make,’ as well as ‘to bring about,’ to bring down,’ etc. It also means ‘act,’ action,’ and forms of that word. Magician means willpower, and the will. (Magicians’ definition of magic is ‘will.’)

Magician is intentional, voluntary, action. It means to start, to volunteer, ‘voluntarily,’ voluntary, initiate.

You see the suits of Tarot on Magician’s table. He raises his right hand to heaven with his wand (will) to bring down what he wills. His left hand grounds the action to earth: He is pointing, see?

.

Now Without The Pictures

The way things are, and the way things seem to be: That is our environment here. Hierophant is the way things are, the official reality, the mainstream world view – the way things are and the way people think. Hierophant represents those four-letter words: should and ought. And here comes Six of Wands to say ‘Things are not as they appear.’ Magician is a bystander who tosses in male pronouns and action words from the sidelines.

The interplay between official reality and jokers who fool with it, and fool with us, is our theater of action. We don’t have a card that represents sane grounded bedrock reality here, but it’s kind of in the air making some distinctions.

The upshot of today’s Tarot talk is: In which reality is action happening? – or ‘In which reality are you acting?’

GUIDANCE                        Especially in a love relationship, there’s a thin line between what’s fair and what’s either being taken advantage of, or taking advantage of. GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

.

Six of Wands The fellow who won the battle has the wreaths and the celebration to prove it but his wise steed (horse) knows better: See that wink? The fellow is about to be kidnapped by the enemy and held captive for his whole life. So the victory isn’t. This is a story of an event in England’s history, and the fellow was a king. So Six of Wands’ main meaning is to not trust what you seem to have going for you, and is a main card for schemes and conspiracies (along with Two of Cups).

.

I should let you know these cards mean these things in Tarot Verbatim™ and nowhere else unless the concept has spread a little.

.

Six of Wands boils down to, most of the time, ‘Appearances are deceiving.’ It’s about phony friends and dirty tricks in competitions. It has a lot of negative meanings, therefore, like crooks and scoundrels misleading us, like being taken advantage of, like ‘Games People Play,’ like doing it by any means fair or foul, like any sort of self-serving, like stealing credit for accomplishment, like anything sneaky or cheating.

.

But Six of Wands’ larger application is going along with the program, cooperating with your people, playing the role you find yourself in, polite pretenses (as well as nefarious ones).

.

Six of Wands represents the influences and interests that draw people in (sports, movements, intellectuals taking sides and promoting an idea, politics, mindsets – and a lot more). This Six of Wands card also appears for being under the spell or charisma of a person or idea or thing or interest. Six of Wands expands to embrace any human herd of any kind, without involving conspiracy. Like people who are missionarying, wanting you to believe or buy or join … or sign that petition. And also getting drawn into, or sucked into, any of those sorts of things.

.

Six of Wands often means these phrases that indicate appearances are deceiving, phrases like these and their cousins: as if, seems like, as if it were, only seems to be.

.

Now naturally this Six of Wands concept is involved in marketing big time, since marketing is convincing others and getting them drawn in. So Six of Wands means marketing and many of its activities … yeah, like that damned sales funnel they fuss about.

Six of Pentacles An employer is carefully weighing the gold coins he pays his workers. The coins are worth only the gold left in them. And these laborers have patches on their clothes. This picture gives rise to a heap of meanings, which, if you want to know all, you can Google ‘Six of Pentacles Tarot Verbatim’ for the whole archive of them.

.

The main meanings to keep in mind are the giving, the receiving, the fairness, the exchange (hand-to-hand), the paycheck, the paying out of money, and money or finances in general. Also remember that the scales give Six of Pentacles legal meanings.

.

Six of Pentacles can simply be giving or getting a gift, maybe intangibles like advice or encouragement, or lending someone an item.

.

Six of Pentacles can simply be receiving, like being a recipient of a benefit like, say, a pension or medical coverage. (Not today.)

Lovers This illustration is cluttered with meanings. Adam and Eve side by side to one another and their trees. The funky angel looking down on them, red wings spread. The volcano with its cloud. And this ain’t the Garden of Eden – the ground is barren. (Makes you wonder about pyroclastic flow.)

.

The main thing to associate with Lovers is, well, association. Connection not only between people, but connecting up – any connection, like ideas, or a garden hose. Closeness. Being side by side (propinquity), or being on the same side. Being in contact, and contact itself.

.

Connection like togetherness, like having joint interest (joint anything). ‘Both of us’ and ‘together’ are frequent translates for Lovers. So close is the connection that Lovers can translate as plural pronouns: we, us, they, them, our, their, and ‘the two of them.’ Lovers also can say ‘couple’ as well as ‘partners.’

.

Lovers also translates ‘direct connection’ and ‘direct.’ These lend themselves to marketing stories, and to communication, so that Lovers can say ‘get in touch with.’

.

Another fairly unexpected meaning for Lovers is ‘equal.’ Equal partners these two people are. Lovers can stand for ‘equality.’

.

Leaving the best for the last, naturally Lovers means love, loving, lovers, love relationship, love affair, the love of … any flavor or application of the love concept.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                  LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …     .

A person familiar with Tarot Verbatim’s™ ways and meanings sees the contrast between the fair deal in Six of Pentacles and the taking advantage, unfair deal, in Six of Wands. And all the third card, Lovers, does is indicate a direct connection or a ‘both of us’ and ‘together’ kind of involvement. So the three cards show one person being taken advantage of by another, or, in a little more subtle interpretation, that being taken advantage of, between us, is a fair deal. The three cards even say ‘We both take equal advantage of one another, so it’s fair.’

.

You see misrepresentation to get money from a person you are dealing with one-on-one here too. Six of Wands is naturally the misrepresentation; Six of Pentacles is the ‘dealing with,’; Lovers is the ‘one-on-one.’

.

The cheating lover is Six of Wands and Lovers. The way Lover treats you – or treats you right – is Six of Pentacles and Lovers. Soo, your cheating lover treats you right … right?

.

It’s not a likely answer to the run-of-the-mill question, but: Direct marketing pays. And ‘We are in this shady deal together,’ with Six of Wands being shady, Six of Pentacles being the deal, and Lovers being together.

.

The theme for today is the blurred line between what’s fair for each side where self-interest is involved.

GUIDANCE      Don’t we all act the most innocent when we’re ‘up to something’? And didn’t we all learn that as children? So we are examining situations along that line – that our actions, and their actions, may not be out of the motives that ‘go along with’ what is being done. Role-playing can make ‘bad guys’ do good things and ‘good guys’ do bad things. We all know this but applying it all the time as things happen is quite another matter. So is policing ourselves to admit what we are actually engaged in.

Six of Wands Six of Wands is about appearances, role-playing, self-interest, getting with the program, going along with what’s happening around you, and being the recruiter to get people to do something that may not be in their real interest. Any of this can be done with the best, or the worst, of intentions. Today with the cards accompanying Six of Wands, it’s about getting children to cooperate, or children getting people to do favors. Today it’s also about the role of a man in romance, and it’s about a sneaky love affair or a real old-fashioned love affair.

.

In the company of its neighbors today, Six of Wands tells stories about crossing from just another love affair to really being in love; about how a trusted friend can get you into something shady; about how innocent we act when we are ‘up to something and how he does for kids who ‘aren’t really his.’

.

The illustration is about a traitor arranging to have his king abducted into captivity by luring him into chasing some defeated Arabs in a battle.  That is why this card means all these complex pretenses.

MagicianJust remember ‘male who acts’ as shorthand for Magician. The number 1 is the male principle, esoterically speaking – is the beginning, so it means initiative and taking action … doing. (Magician is marked ‘1’ but it’s cut off in our illustration here.)

.

This produces more phrases than you would think. It also makes Magician invisible sometimes, because the action is expressed along with another card’s meaning. The initiative meanings can be expressed in such phrases as ‘he started out to’ or ‘gets him into something’ – meaning gets him into doing something, but we don’t say it that way. Of course, Magician translates: initiative, takes initiative, initiates.

.

As the male principle, Magician can just say ‘he’ at times, or ‘he is the one who.’ It also translates ‘act like,’ especially in the company of a card that is about conforming or playing a role, like Six of Wands or Hierophant or even Fool in its ‘as if’ mode.

.

Watch for Magician to say it’s doable, that it was done, or that action was taken.

Six of Cups Two well-dressed sweet-looking children, and the little boy is giving the little girl flowers in front of where they live (either an estate or large apartment buildings). This illustration gives rise to all sorts of meanings and applications. Kids, childhood, childhood home, gifts, romance, love, house, home, safe neighborhood, quaint cottage-like house, old house, the way it used to be, old-fashioned, what you’re used to, sweet life, trust, sincerity, friendship and old friends, innocence, reward, and, yes, giving or getting flowers.

Strange story here. To the left is Six of Wands, all about appearances being deceiving and all about influencing someone without seeming to. To the right is Six of Cups, childlike innocence and giving someone something that makes them happy. In the middle is Magician doing it.

.

This spread influences Six of Wands, who can be very devious, to act in the best interests of another person. This spread points out a lot of sneakiness-facts: how we act our most innocent when we aim to pull off some mischief; how a trusted friend can induce us to do something we feel is shady; how with the worst of motives, someone can end up doing a really good deed.

.

So our point today is that actions and motives are not always going in the same direction at all … and that’s probably true inside me and you right now. So let’s look.

Six of Wands You have to know this illustration is about King Richard III of England being lured to chase some defeated Arabs in a battle. He spent the rest of his life over in Arabia somewhere as a captive. The next-in-line-to-the-throne arranged it, and got away with that high crime. So Six of Wands is about someone seeming to with with the team, and using its achievements for his own self-serving purposes. Think frenemy.

.

But also think of fitting in with a crowd to get ahead by using its activities your way. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Six of Wands more often is about ‘things are not what they seem’ and about ‘putting the best face on your behavior.’ It’s also about an opportunity that isn’t what it seems: King Richard was going to put the icing on the cake of that battle he won.

Wheel of Fortune – Luck is like molecules: Everything has it as an ingredient, says Wheel of Fortune. Wheel of Fortune sketches out an idea that God and the devil are influences on the events of your day and your life. Godly influences are represented by the four Hebrew letters that translate as Jehovah or Yahweh in English. The devil is in the details – all those critters on the outside of the wheel and around it.

.

The wheel itself goes back to Apollo’s time, and the letters of its name are shuffled into the letters of God’s Hebrew name – ROTA. ‘Rota’ made it into English as ‘rotate.’ And the Wheel of Fortune in the myth was exactly what we see here: coincidences that amount to destiny and come from both the good nonphysical, and the bad nonphysical, realms.

.

In real-life Tarot, Wheel of Fortune is ‘it happens’ and is all about good luck: a lucky break, an opportunity, something wonderful, the best happening, karma and destiny, a windfall or ‘score.’ Wheel of Fortune and Nine of Cups are considered the ‘best cards.’

Page of Pentacles is a very personal card. It means a person, a person’s perspective, and it translates simply as a pronoun often. It’s almost a place-holder, a cipher like zero. As a person, Page of Pentacles is a young man looking to fit into his scene the best way he can – which is what pages were and what they did in their day: they were apprentice knights. Page of Pentacles represents ‘the best person I can be’ or ‘the best person he can be’ the same way Page of Wands does. My Best Self type thing.

.

Page of Pentacles belongs to the see/know/realize/think theme. And, as I said, he makes pronouns often. Put these two together, and you see Page of Pentacles often saying things like: you see, he thinks, he thinks he is, I think you are, your thoughts are, their perspective is, he is aware, I know, he knows how, etc. (Yes, this is flexible.)

.

Page of Pentacles often means to look, to watch, to keep an eye on, to look for, to look carefully at – and even ‘is looking to.’ It can mean phrases like ‘but watch that’ as well.

.

.

We naturally look for what’s best for us when we fit ourselves into a scene or situation, and we naturally are being self-conscious as to how to present who-we-are to the people there – to fit in. Well, they have done the same thing, and are doing the same thing, so in this scene we are each that version of ourselves … and we might be another version of ourselves in a different scene. And so might they. So who you are depends upon the circumstance of where you are, and with whom. This is called face. Some people try to be who they really are all the time everywhere, which means they fit in less. Some people are chameleons and fit in beautifully in every scene, but may not have a very distinctive self to be.

Say ‘thank you’ to Wheel of Fortune: Both of its table-mates are mistrustful. Wheel of Fortune is something wonderful, is happening for the best, is even a miracle – not to mention lucky. So all’s well that ends well. There, I just told you the end of the movie.

Page of Swords is that jittery feeling when ‘you know something’s out there’ or things ‘go bump in the night.’ It is also being nerved up, hyper, anxious, even frantic. Page of Swords whirls around, weapon drawn, and you can see no one’s around for miles. Six of Wands is the frenemy, the Fifth Columnist, the spy in the camp, the lowdown double-crossing ex – is Games People Play. Six of Wands is forever up to something.

But Page of Swords is also being thrilled or excited, and Wheel of Fortune is also a grand opportunity. Today we have drama.

Page of Swords      Think adrenalin when you see Page of Swords; that is what he is all about: hyper-alert. The card refers to the bodily state of excitement so it can mean good-adrenalin or bad-adrenalin. Anxious is his favorite word, and you can be anxious looking forward to your Christmas present, or anxious dreading a court summons. You can be in a panic or thrilled, with Page of Swords.

Six of Wands       Here we have a scene of a victory at a battle in which the king was kidnapped into captivity so the next-in-line fellow could take over the throne, so it isn’t really the victory it seems because of someone’s self-serving agenda. The rest of the Tarot world doesn’t know the story, and doesn’t notice the fellow’s horse doesn’t trust his intentions. (See the horse.) You will see this card in other Tarot systems portrayed as victory, just as you see Two of Cups portrayed as a happy romance.

Six of Wands is about appearances. Its core meaning is performing a role. Performing a role can apply to doing your part as agreed, fair and square, in what’s going on with other people (conforming and fitting in and getting with the program), and it could mean pretending to be ‘one of them’ – being the spy in the camp – whilst working against them.

As a person, Six of Wands is self-interested, is sneaky, is a strategist who’s looking out for number one. Six of Wands is that buddy you gotta keep an eye on – that false friend. Six of Wands is the narc or an informer type situation in which the betrayal could be for a greater cause. The spy is a traitor to one side, hero to the other. Six of Wands is ‘Get it done by fair means or foul, by hook or by crook.’ When it represents a person, it seldom means someone who is doing his best to fit in and go with the program. As a person, it’s usually a person who’s ‘up to something.’

Wheel of Fortune      Today we use the mundane (ordinary) words of an extraordinary Tarot card. Wheel of Fortune is occult-based, and you can read all about it by typing its name followed by ‘Tarot Verbatim’ into Google. Today Wheel of Fortune is its very favorite word, ‘happening’ or ‘happen.’ It also say: a chance, to score, a miracle; gambling, wonderful, a grand opportunity, and lucky. Creatures from occult lore grace the outside of the wheel, and in those clouds. In its center is God’s name in Hebrew (used in magic) and its letters are alternated with R O T A. It’s in a circle so it also reads TARO. Rota appears in myths about the wheel, one involving Apollo.

.

.

.

Something is afoot and I feel it in the air, feel it in my gut. Don’t know whether to be excited, or whether to dread. Maybe it’s just me, maybe it’s just paranoia or my body chemistry gone momentarily awry, but I feel this way anyway. Feelings don’t have to make sense.
