Strength – The lion whisperer here. Strength is about character, about one’s influence upon others and the environment, and about overcoming.

The underlying meaning of the card is spiritual and esoteric (occult). The white dress, the ‘eternity sign’ halo, the garlands she wears, are all symbols of purity and spiritual abilities. The lion is opposition (problem, trouble, enemy, objections, obstacles, and one’s faults or vices). As a seer, she prevents these things without having to engage in the inconvenience of actual conflict. This is the truth behind the fact that when you have wised up about something, you are less likely to encounter it as a problem again.

So Strength is about prevention, about nipping trouble (or opposition, or an impending situation) in the bud. Strength is about solving problems, about solution.

She has her hand on the lion. On his upper and lower snout, shutting his mouth. Yes, Strength can be shutting someone up, or shutting people up. But this hands-on scene also brings Strength all sorts of ‘hand’ words. It means handle. It means to touch.
