………………………     Both Ten of Cups and Star are celebrating, and are happy people. This is the chief meaning of each of them. Star is feeling good, expressing oneself, loving and being enthusiastic. Ten of Cups is a group of people, like a family, who have anything at all in common that is fit to print: Ten of Cups is respectable people. Ten of Cups is marriage and happy marriage as well. So there is a lot of overlap here. The other card is Emperor, which has a narrow focus of being established and settled, being an old man, daddy, being the head of something, authority. Emperor is also a ruler, God the Father, and a federal government.

Ten of Cups……….. Ten of Cups is the stereotype of The American Dream, which is the world’s dream too: Respectability, prosperity, happy marriage, good kids, fine home. It’s all there plus a rainbow to ice its cake. Ten of Cups is the good people, happiness, marriage, the happy marriage, everybody, and unity among people who have some thing in common.

Star …………. Star is when you’re on-top-of-the-world happy, pleased, thrilled, enthusiastic, and gotta tell everybody. Star is on the soapbox missionarying about whatever-it-is, selling something – even a cause or idea. Star is very verbal and public, so public speaking, singing to the crowd, confessing you’re in love … all of that. Oh. Yeah. Star is saying ‘I love you.’ It can be blabbing, blurting out, confessing to a crime, tattling and such, too. You see a nude woman pouring pitchers into a pond she is bathing in, and singing.

Emperor………..Emperor is the state of having arrived and being established, of stasis, because that is what a ‘4’ is, esoterically speaking. It contains the idea of not having any room for improvement, of being stuck on perfected (stasis). So you see an old man and a ruler: easy. Stereotype here is the old-fashioned head-of-this-family rigid controlling daddy. Very conservative, very close-minded. Emperor applies authority to whatever it touches.
