Two of Wands – This Two of Wands is a solid anchor card, and its meanings are about being solid. You see a fellow who owns the real estate below his mansion, and he is gazing down at it, planning how to make more money and steady money from it. He is not just a landlord, though; he is the banker, the mortgage holder and broker, the mogul who owns the town. Some humor here: He holds the world in his hand.

Two of Wands meaning categories break down to these similar headlines: plans; tenses and words that indicate future, like ‘going to’; future, the word itself; long term, long range, long time, permanent; good outlook or prospects, and phrases like ‘a lot going for,’ ‘a lot to look forward to,’ financial security,’ life ahead of him or her; financial stability, good money, bank account, investment. Three is that easygoing, relaxed, laid-back gal who is comfortable and makes us comfortable with her ways. The woman with the comfortable life, or who is comfortable with the life she has.

Four is being a resource. A resource for other people. The woman who has a very strong talent. This is Marilyn Monroe and her glamour-kitty heirs. Empress also appears for the word ‘resource’ itself.

Page of Wands – Pages are apprentice knights who are sent from their father’s castle to learn knighthood from another man, so they are about being attractive, fitting in, looking good and pleasing others. Both Page of Wands and Page of Pentacles are identity cards, which means they stand for people, and they can be pronouns. Page of Wands translates phrases and words, therefore, like: he, his, a fellow, a young man, while he is young.

Page of Wands even stands for the name – a person’s name or the name of something, such as the name on a title.

………..……….Page of Wands is about talk, about being the right kind of person, having the right image.

Temperance is conversation, deals and exchanges, and close relationships. These two

get together and set the tone for today’s chat with Tarot. The other card is about

solid, ongoing, long-term profit, and about a good future. Two of Wands is a

guarantee of sorts: It means ‘for sure’ and ‘guarantee,’ for example. Our point today

is when you talk directly with other people, or another person, you anchor whatever

it is you two (or you and they) are doing together.

 

…………………….Two of Wands is a man with a plan – a financial plan. It’s a very solid plan: He owns the real estate below, and is thinking of how to make more money from it … and he has the whole world in his possession. That’s pretty solid. Quite often this card just says ‘will’ and it also translates ‘future.’ It can be about a bank account or bank or banker or mortgage or mortgage broker. It can refer to real estate deals, to investment in general. Of course it means the rich man, the rich class, the solid citizen, the man with money.

Put it next to a relationship card (which we have here in Temperance), and it’s a solid

relationship, a long term relationship, a plan to get in touch, a relationship with a

future. Today it is next to one of each.

…………………….Page of Wands‘ speak/talk/say/tell/announce meanings are upfront, in the presence of the back-and-forth relationship meanings of Temperance. You’ve got a good looking man who can talk to you, for instance. You have an intimate chat. You have a one-on-one verbal presentation (which Two of Wands makes into a business conversation, and Temperance says it’s a business deal). You have a relationship with a flirty fellow, which is one of Page of Wands’ meanings, as the good-looking young fellow.

……………………Temperance shows the back-and-forth blending of water and wine. (No, I have yet to see it mean ‘temperance’ re abstaining from liquor.) Temperance has meanings that don’t know each other, even though it means intimate friends. Its focus is on intimacy, close relationship, buddies, friends, mutual arrangements, and soulmate-type love relationships. That comes, of course, from the blending.

Since the angel has a healing symbol on his chest, that is one of Temperance’s meanings: healing. It doesn’t exactly mean good health, but, next to Page of Wands, that does mean ‘in good shape,’ Temperance is saying ‘bodily healing to being in good shape.’

One of Temperance’s frequent translates is dealing or dealing with. It also means one-on-one, directly, so you find it saying you are dealing directly with … often with the person who can make the decision. It is also a hand-to-hand transaction, which can be a bad thing in some legal inquiries.

Temperance is mutual: us, they, them, together with someone, reciprocal relationship, partners, be with ….

Temperance hardly ever introduces the idea of an angel, but it is a support card for that if the question or nearby cards establishes the subject.

Once in a while, the fact it’s an angel, and he’s standing in water, and blending water, accesses the idea of mass consciousness being affected by some divine influence or healing energy (like Ace of Cups). Temperance does not purely mean this, but can support it.

Talk yourself into the future that’s best for you for who you are by talking to other people about mutual relationships, deals and arrangements. Win-win situations are all around, but until someone speaks up to partner up, these lovely deals are not that likely to happen. Quite often you have to sell yourself, because a sale often needs a salesman to sell.

Two of Wands………Two of Wands, it’s under control; it’s a sure thing; you’ve got the influence and the funds to put what you plan into effect. Two of Wands tells you you can do what you plan to bring about. It is future oriented, although it can be a ‘set-for-life’ person. It simply means future tense, and future words like ‘will’ and ‘will be.’ It means ‘future’ a lot, and it means ‘plan’ a lot. ‘Business’ and ‘finance’ and ‘funds’ belong to Two of Wands too. So do words like ‘prognosis’ and ‘projected.’

Temperance…….Temperance is one of those Johnny-come-lately Tarot cards, added in the Middle Ages to make Tarot look acceptable to the Church, or at least not unacceptably. So you have an angel (a holy angel); you have the idea of Temperance plastered as the title; you have the pouring back and forth representing the dilution of wine; and you even have healing as a symbol upon his chest. It works, so we don’t argue with it.

Temperance mainly means relationship, intimacy, equality – so ‘equal intimate partners.’ Yes, it means partnership or being a partner, or partnering up with another person, or making partner at work. The intimacy is the blending of the liquids.

Temperance means deal and dealing, means communication, means reciprocating and responding. All of these meanings are about a back-and-forth, not a one-time response or communication.
