He is in a hurry, is immediate and suddenly, and is, with Magician, doing it again. The very first thing you see here is ‘She pays him to do it again.’ You can’t miss that! These three are quite the crew; they make lots of stories and situations. With her money and influence (Queen of Pentacles), and his action (Magician), things change quickly (Knight of Swords).

She manages money, is generous, and she may have money to manage, including other people’s, maybe clan money. Queen of Pentacles is talented and skilled too – ‘able’ is one of her words. A man who is attracted to Queen of Pentacles sees her as ‘the woman who has sit all.’ Over into the shadow side, she owns her man, is bossy and histrionic (too emotional in an attention-getting dramatic way) – but you need outside context to bring these out. She is your mama. She is famous for taking care: This is one of her main phrases.

…………………………..      Magician as the ‘1’ is esoterically the male principle of action on the physical plane, which – again esoterically – makes him passive on the mental and spiritual planes. This concept supports the stereotype of guys doing things without thinking, of course. (High Priestess is the reverse of that, as the female principle.) So Magician’s meanings tend this way: male pronouns; the word ‘action’ and all forms of ‘do’ and ‘make,’ and being the one who does, or the one who brings about something. Starting or beginning or taking initiative or introducing himself. When you are using ‘being the one who does’ as his meaning, yes, a female can be the actual doer. Knight of Swords    …….. Knight of Swords is a switchy-changey guy in a big hurry, he is. He rushes to and rushes from, or he rushes back and forth. His constant, amongst all this change, is the speed at which he does these things. This card in Tarot Verbatim™ is just as likely to be phrases about the hurry or the various directions. It can contribute the word ‘change’ or ‘changing.’ It can say things like commute and velocity and emergency. There’s a list up there in Learn Tarot by Observing.

Queen of Pentacles …………. Queen of Pentacles is expert at handling people and money. She is the kind of emotional that makes people go along with whatever she is about and whatever she is up to. She is tribe- or family- oriented. Sometimes she is the head woman in a work camp, site or place. She’s that intimidating head nurse or waitress, maybe. She budgets and saves, whatever her station in life. We are talking stereotype here, of course. She is known for her talent, her skill, her generous spirit. Put her in a bad light, and just reverse all that and she is the bossy matron. You find this card, when the spread is about a man’s point of view of his woman, often translating ‘The woman who has it all.’

Magician     ………….      Magician is a doer, is the one who takes the initiative. In sentences it can stand, for example, for ‘do it yourself.’ He is a self-starter, self-reliant … a lot of ‘self’s.’ He is quite often a verb about doing something, making something happen, bringing something about, initiating or starting something. Once in a while Magician is about a start-up. When Magician is a person or an animal, it is always male, because as a ‘1,’ he is the male principle of action, esoterically speaking. So the baby is a boy if that is what you are asking.
