…………………………..    Two of Wands is security, is financial security and financial institutions, and it refers to the future and means ‘for sure.’ Those are its main meanings – it has a few more. For instance, it is involved in real estate. Put it next to Eight of Pentacles, and it says ‘job security.’ Next to Lovers it is a good future together, a financial partnership, a business contact, and even being in bed with the bank.

Let’s be simple and just use today’s, shall we? – because we have been very selective today. We have used only five categories. Two of Wands……….. Two of Wands is the money man, the investor, the stock or mortgage broker, the property owner, the bank and the bankster. Notice he’s got the world in his hands there. He surveys the properties below as the man with the plan to wrest more cash from his holdings, which makes Two of Wands about income projections, plans, commercial dealing or business, the wealthy class, and simply the future.

Lovers…………. Lovers shows the couple, in the model of Adam and Eve. You know it’s those two because each has a tree from their old digs, the Garden of Eden. The fierce-looking angel is probably the one that kept them out when they were evicted, but in real life it passes for your guardian angel, orange hair and all. Once in a while the volcano is literal, and once in a while this card will mean noon because of the big old sun there. Lovers means anything to do with love, of course. It means anything about two people, even standing next to someone, but especially partners (love or business, as today), a couple, and ‘them,’ ‘they,’ and ‘us.’

Lovers also means higher-ups, protection, surveillance, watching out for, and even insurance because the angel is above the couple with his wings and hands outstretched in that gesture of protection.

Eight of Pentacles…………. Eight of Pentacles is easy. The carpenter does the same thing over and over again at his job. It’s a repetitive routine. He is working-class. He keeps at it. Each one of those meanings belongs to Eight of Pentacles, along with anything at all to do with labor, work, employment, and the actual hands-on doing of something. Words like ‘next’ and ‘again’ belong to this Rider Waite Tarot card.
