GUIDANCE You go around not aware, not knowing, maybe even oblivious to something meaningful. Then your subconscious puts its foot down into your conscious mind and, from your perspective ‘something happened’ to make you realize what you were erasing so skilfully. It wasn’t the thing that happened, though; it was your mundane mind being bumped – and being ready enough to be bumped – that makes those changes. And, often, you are unaware of the shift in your perspective …. ‘I always knew that.’

….. …….
…… …..
…………, Judgment and Page of Pentacles both realize: Judgment, it’s a new consciousness; Page of Pentacles knows and is aware of it. Fool, on the other hand, doesn’t know, is oblivious.
Fool is the subconscious part of a person; Page of Pentacles is the conscious; Judgment is a shift and is new awareness. This describes that sudden awareness we have when the subconscious has informed us.
Fool doesn’t care and is free of attachment or identifications; Page of Pentacles is all about identity. Page of Pentacles is something (whatever the nearby cards say he is).
All this stuff about change and consciousness makes similar-sounding sentences that actually do mean different things.

Judgment You don’t need a book to tell you Judgment is about a new life: People are raised by the dead in the illustration. Judgment is a change, a shift, a new perspective, a sudden awareness. It is also a reminder.
The angel’s horn is making a big announcement, which makes Judgment one of the say-speak-tell theme cards. The horn also can be about a big noise, or an actual musical instrument – but not today. Nor are we using the legal applications of this card.
Fool Fool’s illustration isn’t telling you anything until you know that, as the zero, Fool is potentiality, is not present (or fully present), and is free of attachments. (Zero drastically changes other numbers’ values, but itself means ‘nothing.’ This ‘nothing’ application makes Fool mean: I don’t know, I don’t care, I am free,’ etc.
Fool is also ‘out there,’ living in spirit. A spiritual person takes chances other people don’t: Fools rush in where angels fear to tread; God protects fools and drunks. So, let it be known, the Fool is not going over the cliff, nor is his pet. The deeper meaning of Fool is that a spiritually advanced person disregards sensible self-interest and lives in faith out of the spiritual realm. What Fool is free of is the whole physical system, the world. That is true of World too.
Fool has a lot of meanings that spread out from this main puddle. He means optimism; youth; to assume; being personally free – a free spirit. (Elsewhere on this site I have written extensively about this Fool card. You can Google ‘Fool, Tarot Verbatim’ and read all about it.)
Page of Pentacles Page of Pentacles is one of the identity cards, similar to Page of Wands. Pages are young people starting out in life as apprentices, looking for where they fit in. This fellow studies that pentacle, which makes him a student, makes him about self-image and self-examination – identity. He thinks – his main application; he feels; he is (whatever the other cards say). He is all about conscious thought.
Page of Pentacles often just translates pronouns, especially ‘he’ or ‘him,’ ‘I’ or ‘me.’

I think, therefore I am. I wasn’t myself until I awoke. Now I know who I am. We are about awakening, about the kind of awakening that happens when the subconscious and the conscious get together and are working together. This kind of self-awareness is a sort of enlightenment – the kind of enlightenment that makes us say both ‘I didn’t know that!’ and ‘I always knew that!’
