Ace of Swords To win a fight or competition, to be the winner. Use of force, victory, ruling or being number one: These you see at a glance in this drawing of a double-edged sword held up and crowned, with laurel leaves on the crown.

.

The ‘being number one’ includes words and phrases like: most of all, the main thing, big, the most, total, being the one, the one thing.

.

Ace of Swords implies there’s only one way fairly often, with words and phrases like: must, got to, have to, no matter what, makes. It means ‘for sure,’ and it means ‘do it the hard way. It also means challenge, threat, adversity, and overcome.

Nine of Cups This illustration shows the kind of satisfaction you feel when you have had a good meal, and the chubby fellow also suggests prosperity and ‘having it all.’ Nine of Cups is called ‘your wish is granted.’ More than any other word or phrase, Nine of Cups translates ‘want.’

.

Your wish is granted brings us: your dream come true, things go your way, makes me feel so good, what makes him happiest, happy, glad, grateful, enjoy, to please and to be pleased. It can even translate ‘mine,’ as in ‘I’ve got mine.’

.

Nine of Cups means both greed (excess) and enough.

Chariot Think of Chariot as the field manager. This spread doesn’t feature Chariot’s using the adverse factors to further his aims, but you can find that by typing ‘Chariot Tarot Verbatim’ into your Google, which will bring you the archives regarding this Tarot card.

.

Today, Chariot makes these words and phrases predominantly: be a leader, master this, success, take command, the responsibility, my achievement, responsibility, accomplishment, overcome. He also means ambition and ‘aim to.’

.

Chariot also appears – as he always does – as deciding and handling a situation, and as that kind of skill. Chariot tends to be a veteran at his job.

Here’s ambition (Chariot), achieving the goal (Ace of Swords), and feeling so good about it (Nine of Cups). Here’s wanting to be (Nine of Cups) skilled, and/or a leader (Chariot), and actually ruling (Ace of Swords). Ambition (Chariot) absolutely (Ace of Swords) fulfilled (Nine of Cups). Here’s challenge in Ace of Swords and responsibility in Chariot.

.

Here also is the necessity (Ace of Swords) for self-control (Chariot) to have things go your way (Nine of Cups). Maybe what you are so glad about (Nine of Cups) is overcoming (Chariot) some threat or adversity (Ace of Swords).

.

Getting the main thing done (Ace of Swords as the main thing, and getting it done as Chariot) is enough, though (Nine of Cups).

Recipes for success, that’s what we’re on-about here. Ace of Swords and Chariot are winners and champions who get the job done. Note that Ace of Swords and Chariot have overlapping meanings: success, achieve and achievement, accomplishment, win, get it done the hard way, meeting the challenge or the threat. When you see both these cards in the same place, your story has a happy ending even without Nine of Cups.

When you see both these cards in the same place, your story has a happy ending even without Nine of Cups.

.

(Ace of Swords, as you know, can mean the extreme of anything, usually by saying ‘the most.’ When Ace of Swords appears with a card that already means ‘the most’ in some way, then Ace of Swords may or may not just disappear into the overall meaning soup of that sentence. For example, Nine of Cups can be ‘the happiest’ or ‘totally satisfied.’ Ace of Swords means ‘totally’ and means ‘the most,’ too. You won’t always find another meaning that Ace of Swords makes in that sentence – it may become invisible that way.)

Sometimes you want it so bad you do what you have to, to get it. Other times a driving ambition to be the best, or to be the most skilled, pays off handsomely incidentally as a lovely byproduct of your drive to excel. GUIDANCE                    Thinking it through: There’s a time and place for that, and it’s everywhere and often. She loves and understands but also believes she has to move on to a better scene. You think about getting away from all this stress.

I have to get over that sweet gal in my past.

Girl, you gotta quit thinking about your man.

Gotta quit being so naïve.

She must relocate overseas; she knows this for sure.

She knows her man is going to leave her for sure.

He dominates her now but she is figuring out how to make that a thing of the past.

.

Tarot Readings: Six of Swords and Ace of Swords

.. … ..

She understood us and loved us anyway, and she goes on to her reward.

He has to escape from the gal who understands him!

She knows what an accomplishment moving on out will be for her.

The best move I ever made was my own idea.

You know you’ve got to move out of there.

She is thinking she must leave.

No one will ever threaten me again: I know this for sure!

The way she is headed, tomorrow is the best day of her life.

.

Tarot Readings: Queen of Cups and Ace of Swords

After what I’ve been through, thinking it through comes first.

She is absolutely not a woman who believes in her man anymore.

From now on, this sweet-natured lady knows her weapon.

That lady who believes in you is gonna be your boss from now on!

She leaves us as the most loving creature ever.

She is departed, the most loving female ever to be on the earth.

Her love conquered us all, and now she isn’t going to be here anymore.

The lady who rules this place goes to a better place.

Six of Swords – The future is better. Six of Swords reassures of that. You are moving on, making progress (or whoever is the subject of your reading is). Six of Swords is one of those ‘not anymore’ cards. The future is better because of leaving the past behind. While Six of Swords isn’t specifically about hitting bottom and bouncing back (or up), often it comes up when that is happening.

.

You see a broken figure leaving at dusk or dawn on a gray day, huddled in a paddle-boat with her kid and nothing but the clothes on their backs. Refugees or something similar.

.

Six of Swords is getting away, is escaping, is putting the past behind, and is quitting.

.

The future is better compared to what they have been through. This is the card for travel over water, and over the ocean.

Queen of Cups – Queen of Cups. We all love her. She is the feminine equivalent of Knight of Cups: loving, helpful, understanding, warm and fuzzy. She concentrates on her artifact there as the flood waters encircle her stone seat, a blond dressed in a white robe. She is a woman of faith, most often faith in her man. She is thinking; she is all about thinking.

.

Queen of Cups is so feminine that she can translate simply ‘she,’ as High Priestess, ‘the feminine principle,’ can.

.

Queen of Cups understand. Queen of Cups believes. Think the Gloria character in ‘All in the Family,’ also known as ‘The Archie Bunker Show.’ She believes in her man, she loves – loves whoever the subject of the question is as a rule.

.

Ace of Swords – You have to ask yourself what this card is doing in today’s spread. But there it is. Ace of Swords is dominance and force: I have to, you gotta, must, for sure, dominates, has to, accomplishment, conquers and rules and is the boss. Ace of Swords comes first. Ace of Swords is winning or the winner.

.

Ace of Swords is the most (the penultimate anything). The best ever. It is the absolute. It translates ‘absolutely’ often as well. As the penultimate, Ace of Swords is the best ever, the best day of your life, etc.

.

Ace of Swords is a weapon and a threat. By force, by golly. The hard way. It’s a threat from the perspective of the victim or the victor. It’s stress.

.

Ace of Swords is an ultimatum and a command too – and being commanding.

.

.

On either side of Queen of Cups, the sweet lady who understands you, are some kind of urgency or threat (Ace of Swords) and escaping a bad scene for an improved one (Six of Swords). Most of the sentences in this post take Ace of Swords and Six of Swords as various forms of ‘got to leave.’ The nice Queen of Cups lady thinks it’s high time to get out of something (a place, a relationship, or sometimes something you are being). These three Tarot cards also can tell a story about escaping from the woman who understands you because it feels threatening.

.

Six of Swords with Ace of Swords say ‘no more threat,’ or something like ‘no one will ever threaten (me) again.’

.

This is a story too of the most beloved departed lady because Six of Swords does translate ‘the departed’ for obvious reasons, Ace of Swords means ‘the most’ and Queen of Cups can be a flower petal of a female. This is the story of a beloved pet who passed away.

.

Another theme made by Queen of Cups and Ace of Swords (besides ‘most beloved woman) is having to (Ace of Swords) think it through (Queen of Cups thinking).

.

Some unlikely phrases can come from Queen of Cups, the nice gal, and Ace of Swords, the threat and/or the weapon: What she knows is a threat to her; she is thinking of declaring open war; she knows her weapon(s), and something like ‘a mind like a steel trap,’ which is a cliche you hear. Mostly, these cards will say she has to think it through.

.

Queen of Cups and Ace of Swords can read ‘mean woman’ in various ways such as ‘sweetly mean.’

.

Queen of Cups is the woman who believes in her man, and Six of Swords says either that she doesn’t anymore (one of its phrases) or that the man leaves the woman who believes in him.

.

We have lots of stories with these three cards. They have a happy ending, overall. The future is better. Six of Swords provides that.

.

They even say tomorrow is the best day of the rest of your life.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

.

Ace of Swords Er, you could say Ace of Swords is a double-edged sword like its picture. It’s obviously a total victory, what with the crown crowned with the laurel leaves; but a total victory for one side is a total defeat for the other, and the action in Tarot goes both ways. So we have ‘you win’ and ‘you conquer,’ and we also have ‘sure got the best of me’ and ‘got the best of you.’ Win and lose. And you also have the threat, and you have orders, commands. Today, ‘be firm with’ is an Ace of Swords translate under its ‘command’ set of meanings.

.

Ace of Swords is not just to dominate though; it is to have things under control and to be in control. It is also having to: having to do, something that is the controlling element in the equation in any way, and something that is for sure or certain. ‘Get ‘er done’ comes from this Ace of Swords ‘achievement’ category of meanings.

.

Ace of Swords means ‘total’ because of the total win, and, by extension, is one of the several cards that translates ‘the most.’ So we have ‘number one,’ ‘the grandest,’ ‘very, ‘100%,’ and, of course, ‘totally.’ Today this concept includes ‘head over heels’ because that’s ‘totally’ in love.

Two of Cups Tarot Verbatim™’s take on Two of Cups is literal, and therefore varies from the rest of the Tarot world’s. The caduceus is about unseen, undeclared influences on a transaction (or situation) between parties who DO have an understanding. This concept covers a lot of acreage. (Caduceus represents a magic spell’s influence.) When you don’t know who you are dealing with, something is being done back-door or under-the-table, it’s Two of Cups territory.

.

First, yes, Two of Cups is about love … just, about complex complicated love. We put our best appearance on when we have a lover (most of us most of the time anyway) so there’s a normal level of pretense to the situation. Caduceus goes beyond that to whatever deceit it’s representing at the moment. So Two of Cups is a cheating lover, a lover who is using or manipulating the relationship to his or her selfish benefit (‘Love you for your money,’ etc.) when it’s being a love story. And it’s also simply the sexual attraction itself, the Mother Nature element in love, being uncontrollably head-over-heels in love, and the grand love affair which necessarily has some play-acting to it.

.

But Two of Cups brings that kind of misrepresentation into whatever other scene it may occur in. Two of Cups today is a bad habit, a gullible moment, an agenda, a fixed game, contagion and misrepresentation, as well as being affected and being under the influence. It can represent contagious germs and contagion – ‘catching’ the microbe, or a computer virus, malware.

.

Two of Cups shows the caduceus butting in. It interferes and affects the love relationship it is attaching itself to

.

Two of Cups also speaks of the influence of the subconscious because that is definitely a behind-the-scene influence.

Page of Pentacles Page of Pentacles is a simple card, maybe the very simplest. It means thinking and feeling, looking or watching, a person or a pronoun, and ‘know.’ You see a young self-conscious man contemplating that pentacle. He is an identity card.

.

Today as conscious thought, Page of Pentacles contrasts with the subconscious, hidden, element in Two of Cups. He means idea, feeling, looking at, interest, mindful, watching, seeing, ‘you,’ figuring out, knowing, ‘himself,’ ‘yourself,’ and thinking.

.

.

(These cards don’t get along. Two of the combinations don’t appear anywhere in my archives.)

.

This is the third day that Tarot is talking about interruptions and disruptions, but today it isn’t emphasized as much. “You know how to be firm with people who butt in” bluntly states it. Two of Cups is the disruption card today. It is interference that is undeclared (or unofficial).

.

Today, the disruption theme expands to influences that have to be accommodated. Being ‘under the influence’ is an influence, Tarot points out (duh. I didn’t think of that either) and so is Mother Nature’s part in your love life (double-Duh).

Today, the emphasis is on the necessity to figure out, or to be mindful of, overall factors we disregard. Here are some sentences that point out a few of those:

“Mindful of the threat of malware.

You have to figure out why they interfere.

You have to think for yourself, or someone thinks for you.

You figure out the game is fixed, and you win.

Very mindful of contagion.

Figuring out this person’s agenda is a challenge.

My thinking is influenced by third parties 100%.”

.

Of course ‘figure out’ belongs to Page of Pentacles, and Ace of Swords is the imperative (‘you have to’). Two of Cups, the remaining card, casts a very wide net with what it can mean. An unseen undeclared factor that influences lives: That’s about as general and miscellaneous as you can get, and that’s right where Two of Cups lives.

.

So today Tarot is saying: Be aware of general overlooked factors that will affect your life plan, and build them into your plan because there is more than one route from the starting line to the goal post.

. ….. …….

.

.

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:

. ….. …….

..

I make my plans in a straight line, but real life isn’t linear like that. The plan doesn’t accommodate influences, doesn’t make room for what affects me and the scene I’m in. Today I’m thinking about these interruptions and disruptions, and thinking about alternate ways around them – the back-door and back-alley under-the-table routes that are like the extra arteries a heart makes when its blood supply diminishes.

.

Ace of Swords You know this is about victory, winning, championship, domination, force, weapon, and not about much else just looking at this drawing. And you’re right of course. The crown which crowns the sword is crowned in its turn by the laurel leaves of victory.

.

One of Ace of Swords’ most common translates is not that obvious though: absolute and absolutely. That’s because this victory is so total that there’s total defeat on the other side. So ‘total’ also belongs to Ace of Swords.

.

And I guess ‘must’ and its synonyms are not that obvious either, although ‘force’ implies it. When you put Ace of Swords next to Ace of Pentacles, you get ‘must have,’ because Ace of Pentacles is possession (naturally).

.

That blade will bring up surgery too. Today, Temperance’s ‘healing’ meaning emphasizes this side of Ace of Swords.

.

Here are today’s Ace of Swords translates, minus the ones we have mentioned already: win first, intimidate, aggressively, is in full control, as _ as you can get, is sure to be, 100% (a good one to remember), win, is an accomplishment.

Ace of PentaclesYou see a hand with money in it, and you see that idyllic path matching the gold in the hand … and the lilies and the rose trellis of victory, so you get the idea of winning financially, right? Sure. This Rider Waite Tarot card means all those things. It means perfect; it means prize, it means anything about money; it means ‘right’ because of that straight path; it means optimum, and success, and best, and ‘yes.’

Temperance This card does not divulge the meanings it actually uses, in my experience. The deck could easily do without this one in my opinion. The blending of the wine and water is expressed as intimacy and communication, and as reciprocal dealing. It also shows up to represent healing because of a symbol on the angel’s chest.

.

Temperance often translates as together, togetherness, close relationship, two people who are standing together or companions or partners, and people who are in agreement. Forms of the word ‘deal’ belong strongly to Temperance to – and ‘mutual.’

.

It ought to mean dilution and not drinking alcohol. I am still waiting and it’s been over forty years already. Maybe it’s just me?

.

.

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                        LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …..…..

It’s kind of funny that Temperance means getting along with another well, and Ace of Swords and Ace of Pentacles do get along with one another so very well. So our spread says “Ace of Swords and Ace of Pentacles are best buddies.”

.

The first thing to take away from reading this if you do your own Tarot is that Ace of Swords (must) and Ace of Pentacles (to possess) say ‘must have.’ That’s easy to miss. Today, Temperance makes that say ‘Must have a close relationship.’ Ace of Swords can add ‘must’ to any verb another card contributes. (You could put Ace of Swords down, and put each card in the deck next to it, and see how consistently that card applies to most of them as ‘must.’)

.

Ace of Swords often says ‘absolutely,’ which sometimes functions as strengthening the card it applies that to. So today the ‘perfect’ of Ace of Pentacles becomes ‘absolutely perfect‘ or ‘absolute perfection.’

.

Ace of Swords is one of the cards, therefore, that brings out the extreme on other cards’ spectrums – like Ten of Wands can. Ace of Swords translates ‘the most,’ and it can put those suffixes that mean moreso or most on its neighbors (splat! Take that!). Suffixes like: er, ier, est, iest. Today for example it creates ‘as perfect as you can get,’ modifying the ‘perfect’ of Ace of Pentacles. That’s an example of the ‘extreme of’ that Ace of Swords can create.

.

Temperance is mainly close relationship, and dialog or communication back and forth – and partners or people (or parties) who are together – even just standing together. The flow back and forth and the blending of wine and water are what give Temperance these meanings. Other similar words along this line for Temperance are ‘mutual’ and ‘reciprocate’ or ‘reciprocal.’ Watch for Temperance to say that, yes, he responds or gets in touch. (Look for that if you do readings for other people.) Or that the response to your communication is … and the next applicable card says what that is.

.

But what does Temperance translate, all the time, over and over, incessantly? – ‘deal.’ Deal, dealing, deal with, our deal, etc. If you don’t know what it is saying, try that first.

.

As I said previously, Temperance should mean moderation in imbibing alcohol, or abstinence from alcohol. That would be useful – but it doesn’t do that in my experience. It’s Hermit who shows up for sobriety, and Five of Cups’ turning his back on the full-of-wine cups. (I think the deck is asserting itself over this Johnny-come-lately Temperance card that was artificially foisted upon it in the Middle Ages in Europe to keep the all-powerful Roman Catholic church from murdering as heretics the users of the deck. Diluting wine was seen as piety back then.)

.

Temperance should also be about a flow of liquid. It seldom shows up when the story is about a flow of liquids. (Ace of Cups mainly does, and so does Star, somewhat – in my practice.)

.

No, what Temperance shows up for is the back-and-forth, and it applies it to relationships rather than to movement. Two of Pentacles applies back-and-forth to movement.

.

. ….. ……

.

.

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:

.

*Then you go to Now we show where each of the phrases in each of the sentences comes from: for phrases individual cards make in the day’s sentences. This applies the knowledge.

*Then you read HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS – resonates with your subconscious awareness! for language created by each pair of Rider Waite Tarot cards, in Tarot Verbatim™. Now you are done, if you chose to do it all. Comments are at the very bottom.

*Then you can put names of any two cards into Google, and get their combined meanings. You can also write in one card followed by ‘Tarot Verbatim,’ and get paragraphs of meanings for it.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

.

Three of SwordsYou look at Three of Swords and say ‘I hope it’s just a tornado,’ because it can mean adverse weather as well as adverse anything else. First thing you do in Tarot Verbatim™ when you see a potentially disagreeable card is look for a ‘rescue card,’ a negator that takes the sting out by adding a ‘not’ or a ‘not much.’ Not much luck here, except a little help from its Knight of Swords friend.

.

This is a disagreeable point, no way around it, but it can be part of a ‘don’t you just hate it when’ scenario, since Tarot Verbatim™ is language based in a mechanical way. Three of Swords is to quit, to divorce, jealousy, rivalry, and mere stress; it’s not always trauma (but, yes, it does mean trauma). The knives can mean surgery – and, next to the heart shape there, heart surgery (or heart trouble – physical as well as feelings). Today, Three of Swords says ‘It’s a cold cruel world.’ Today it is hurt, pain, a fight, hate, hostility, hard times, a strained relationship, jealousy … and a rainstorm.

Ace of Swords – You can feel the threat in the illustration of a hand gripping an upraised sword, and you immediately get the idea of a total victory on one side with that crown crowned with the laurel leaves of victory. It’s easy to lose track of the fact that total defeat is on the other side, and that Tarot cards’ meanings apply any way you see in the picture. So you look around.

.

One thing is for sure (pun alert!): Ace of Swords often means ‘absolutely’ and ‘absolute’ or ‘total.’ It also frequently means challenge. These common words for Ace of Swords apply to any old bland story. Probably the most common translate for Ace of Swords is ‘must’ and its synonyms (have to, got to, orders, etc.). It means ‘strong,’ ‘stronger than’ and ‘strength’ too.

.

But Ace of Swords is your card for clash, conflict, combat, threat, fight, power play, ultimatum, confrontation, things contested, and even stabs, weapons, and defeat.

Knight of Swords You see an armed knight full-speed-ahead on a flying horse. Most of this Knight of Swords’ card meanings are about that rush or speed. It’s the direction that has some distinctions for you to make. He could be chasing, pursuing, coming back, racing around, running, switching sides or switching anything else, turning around, or even be a turning point, a quickie, immediately, or an emergency. Often, Knight of Swords is ‘outta here’ or ‘run right over.’

.

Some more common words for Knight of Swords are ‘again,’ ‘leave,’ ‘avoid’ and ‘change.’ He means these things sometimes too: upcoming, called off, imminent … and Knight of Swords is yet another card that can say that pesky ‘doesn’t anymore’ phrase that catches another card’s meaning between its two words – like ‘it doesn’t hurt anymore’ with Three of Swords as ‘hurt.’

.

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                      LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. ….. …     ..

.

This spread hits you in the face, and there are more ways to apply it than first appear. That is why we have too many sentences today! Three of Swords is fight; Knight of Swords is flight; Ace of Swords is both a threat and ‘one way or the other.’ So we have ‘fight or flight.’ And we also have ‘running from a fight‘ or ‘avoiding conflict.’ We even have ‘have to fight.’

.

Three of Swords is obviously hurt and pain, and Knight of Swords is avoiding or heading in the opposite direction: avoiding a painful situation, or running from a fight.

.

Three of Swords is the divorce card (Tower too). The other two cards make familiar phrases with the word ‘divorce.’ Ace of Swords is ‘have to’ and also means ‘contested.’ Knight of Swords is to avoid, and is also ‘quickly,’ so you have a quickie divorce there.

.

These three cards describe being so angry (Three of Swords as hostility) that you have to (Ace of Swords) get out or run off (Knight of Swords) before someone gets hurt (Three of Swords). Anger management counselors teach their violent men to do this before they rough up their companion. Ace of Swords can be violent, and Three of Swords can be hurt.

.

Cards ‘play together’ in Tarot Verbatim™. When you see a potentially ‘bad card,’ you look at its companions for one or more that tone it down. You especially look for those ‘rescue cards’ that cancel out nearby cards’ meanings. They mean negative words or phrases, usually, or they mean ‘not much’ or they mean ‘maybe.’ There are lots of them. Someday I will write a little book on them. (Knight of Swords meaning ‘avoid,’ ‘could go either way,’ and ‘get out of there before’ is a borderline rescue card – borderline only because it fairly seldom acts this way.) And of course you consider a potential bad card’s ‘lesser of the evils’ meanings, because each of the cards has a spectrum to it, and has meanings that apply in a different way from its most common ones. Three of Swords can be heartache or mere dislike.

.

In a small three- to seven- card spread, if there are two cards that can mean the same thing, you pay special attention. Like today both Three of Swords and Ace of Swords can mean surgery, and can mean being cut.

.

So today things may come to a head unless we do something to avoid that, which may just be to leave before the fur flies.

. ….. .    .

.

.

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:

.

This spread hits you in the face, and there are more ways to apply it than first appear. .

.…. ………………. ….………..

.

.

Some things are worth fighting over and some aren’t, and it’s a good thing when you know one from the other, isn’t it? Mostly, other people’s fights are not worth fighting over, and there’s no such thing as civil war, so God invented divorce. We definitely want to avoid being a wounded warrior too. We raise a glass in celebration of getting the heck out when a storm is brewing in the atmosphere or the weather.
