Guidance |
Money, time, and exchanges between (or among) people: That is what we are thinking about here. We are considering ‘Is it worth the trouble?’ as well as ‘Is it worth the money?’ We are pondering whether a delay is in order if acquiring something or paying out something overloads the system now. Not just about the financial budget, but about the social-interaction budget: Can I afford to give this person my attention now, and is putting up with this worth the energy it takes? We celebrate rewarding exchanges.
Could This Be You?
Picture this: You look at the cards in your spread.
You immediately get an idea because you know a few of them intimately.
AND you know a system that works because you have had a few

You feel how individual card meanings reach out and blend, unite, into a sentence. (You can learn this – yes, you!) Your subconscious awareness sees the image and its feeling and your conscious awareness sees the language meaning, the text… so your two minds focus together to see 3D, three dimensionally, the same way your two eyes see depth that one eye does not.

Synopsis |
Time you put into it. Effort and expense you put into it. Here’s your payoff. One main way to financial success is fair exchanges over a long time, so a long term continuing business is what makes money. It takes a lot of time and maybe a lot of money, but you get your payoff or your paycheck. Likewise, when we are acquiring something very precious, extended payments is the best way. Going straight is worth a lot of effort when you steadily keep at it, because too much respect is good for you.

Six of Pentacles
He is paying his employees every dime he owes them, weighing the coins into their outstretched hands, so Six of Pentacles is about a fair exchange, and that’s not limited to commercial or money exchanges, but today our stories are mainly about money due to the another strong money card (Ace of Pentacles).
A money exchange can refer to both giving and receiving, paying and being paid, getting the paycheck and spending it, so that is what most of our sentences speak of here. Pay respect, purchase, investing, and being prescribed medicine are some other meanings we use here.
Six of Pentacles translates ‘business’ fairly often.
Ace of Pentacles
Today the money aspects of Ace of Pentacles are to the fore, are emphasized. More than half of its translates in our sentences mention money, with a sprinkle of ‘profit’ and ‘cash.’ You see the hand with the gold in it, which makes Ace of Pentacles be about possessing money, paying money, receiving money. It also refers to getting and keeping, to success. Today Ace of Pentacles also appears as: precious, expensive, what it’s worth, what you’re worth – all of which are financial aspects, of course.
Other things Ace of Pentacles means today are: road, going straight, good and best. You see the road in the picture, and the road is about going straight. Keep in mind that this card means good, better, and best!
Ten of Wands
Ten of Wands is an anchor card. (Anchor cards have few and well-defined meanings that blend easily with other cards’ meanings.) The fella has taken on a huge burden and is moving slowly step by step to where he is taking those boards … but he will get there. All these elements make meanings.
And here’s the meanings: difficult; a long time or too long, or even (today) gradually; slow (including slow in business today); hard and hard times; too much, very much, a lot of, and ‘all.’
Now Without The Pictures |
It’s inescapable that our story in these three Rider Waite Tarot cards is about things financial. The hand with the gold in it, in Ace of Pentacles, expresses all its money applications – all its give and get and pay and get-paid meanings. It speaks of spending money, being paid, being well-off or rich, being rewarded, profit, and so on. Six of Pentacles shares most of these meanings about money, and Six of Pentacles shows an employer paying the help, so it emphasizes the exchange of money between two parties.
The idea of being rewarded is in both Six of Pentacles and Ace of Pentacles. You can see that in their illustrations. Both of them are having money: Six of Pentacles is receiving or paying it, and Ace of Pentacles is possessing it.
Arriving (in its social sense) is expressed in both Ace of Pentacles and Ten of Wands. Ace of Pentacles emphasizes the success and Ten of Wands emphasizes the effort. You see the path, the route, in Ace of Pentacles. You see the actual step-by-step journey in Ten of Wands – and the presumption in the definitions of Ten of Wands is that he does arrive.
Both Ace of Pentacles and Ten of Wands translate ‘the most.’ Ace of Pentacles translates ‘the best,’ so that its ‘the most’ is always a good thing, whereas Ten of Wands can be too much of a not-so-good thing, being overloaded and even being depressed about the whole thing. It is difficult, says Ten of Wands, to succeed and possess the reward, Ace of Pentacles.
Ace of Pentacles and Ten of Wands also tell us that it’s worth all that effort, because Ace of Pentacles is holding something precious (gold of course) and thus will translate ‘worth’ and ‘value’ at times. Of course, somewhat conversely, these two Rider Waite Tarot cards also say ‘too much money.’
When Ace of Pentacles is translating ‘road,’ as it often can, Ten of Wands makes that being on the road a long time, a difficult road, a delay on a land journey, a road you drive slowly on, or even how expensive it is to finally arrive there.
The most common message from our three cards today is that success is worth the time, effort, and money you invest in it.
