Ace of Swords – Two of Pentacles – Wheel of Fortune
.
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
.
……………………… Two of Pentacles and Wheel of Fortune both show wheels in their illustrations, and both involve coincidence, what could be, and chance. Two of Pentacles is maybe, iffy, and keep at it; Wheel of Fortune is hitting the jackpot, and the wonderful thing does happen. The two of these cards strongly feel like the mills of the gods on the move, to me. Ace of Swords is a ‘winner take all’ card: total victory on one side is total defeat on the other, and its illustration could not be more emphatic about a total victory. Ace of Swords also has a ‘for sure’ meaning and Wheel of Fortune is saying ‘It happens,’ so both of them are about happening for sure. Ace of Swords even means ‘must’ and ‘force’ and ‘make it.’ So our picture today is that things are on the move: Seize the day.
………………………….. Ace of Swords is decisively winning the battle, and Wheel of Fortune echoes the winning. Ace of Swords’ picture is redundant about that win: The crown on the sword is crowned with the laurel leaves of victory. Ace of Swords’ naked blade held aloft tells us it is about force, and it means being forced to, having to, and using force to. It is one of the cards that can call ‘very’ and ‘the most’ and other such words and phrases forth. You have to, you gotta – these are common phrases for Act of Swords.
………………………….. Two of Pentacles is one of those cards whose spectrum is wide, whose meanings are unrelated outside the illustration. You can’t ignore, for example, the ships tossing on hellish waves behind the comedic figure of the juggler: They contribute instability to Two of Pentacles’ dictionary.
Here are the meanings we use today, categorized:
Two of Pentacles very frequently is about movements, and about continuing or ongoing processes. Here are some very frequent translates for it: keep trying, keep trucking, going on, keep at it, on and on and on, keep (whatever)ing, momentum, turning, spinning my wheels, to get things moving, in the process.
Two of Pentacles very frequently refers to something iffy, so you get words for him like somehow, maybe, whatever, whether, if only, and unstable. You also get phrases that mean ‘it could go either way,’ and there are more of those than you would think. Today we have: either way, is or is not, if at all, one way or another. We don’t use either/or today, but that word is definitely Two of Pentacles’ territory.
Closely related to the ones just discussed are the sequential words that Two of Pentacles brings up by virtue of the over-and-over juggling movements: one after another, a next or the next, one thing after another.
Only once today do we use ‘dumb’ for our juggler. ‘Silly’ is a frequent flier in Two of Pentacles dictionary, and its many synonyms, because his costume is silly, and that hat looks sort of like a dunce cap.
………………………….. Wheel of Fortune is yet another complex card with histories and a wide spectrum of applications. Here, it is constrained. It is in its ‘happening’ zone today, all about chance, success, coincidence. Its phrases are mostly about making ‘it’ happen, meaning success, your dream come true, the optimum result, and for the best. We have luck, the big break, odds, chance and ‘had a chance’ (which are different applications), destiny, coincidence and gambling. Wheel of Fortune’s moral is that coincidence influences (or rules) our earthly affairs as destiny or luck, and it suggests entities (both divine and infernal) are involved in this process, which it presents as a roulette-wheel looking thing. In the center of the wheel, easy not to notice, is the Hebrew Name of God (used in magic, and not just by that group of people), and it is interspersed with the letters R, O, T, and A, a word that means wheel (and means wheel of fortune) in several esoteric circles, one of which has to do with Apollo. None of this need bother us today: Wheel of Fortune is in ‘normal’ mode today.
Let’s contemplate how glad we are that we took some chance, made ourselves an opportunity or took advantage of one back there, and how pivotal chance and coincidence are to who we are and what we are doing now. Who would I have been if I had, or had not, done or not done some thing or another? We contemplate this with an eye toward the fact that such coincidences, opportunities, such chance and chances are lurking around us, potentially anyway, this very day. Listen, and you can hear the mills of the gods grinding away this very minute.
.
Now we show where each of the phrases in each of the sentences comes from:

Ace of Swords ……….. Ace of Swords double-edged unsheathed upright blade, not only crowned but its crown being crowed with the laurel leaves of victory, obviously means dominance, winning, victory (and defeat for ‘the other side’), force and orders. It also twists a little and means ‘forced to,’ must, have to ,etc. It’s an imperative, pure and simple. Obviously it means a weapon (any kind) and a threat – but we are not there today.
.
Two of Pentacles …………. Two of Pentacles shows all sorts of ongoing motions, and it can mean any and all of them. It also means alternatives like ‘either way’ and ‘whether or not,’ and there are at least a dozen of those phrases that appear for Two of Pentacles. It has an iffy department too which can bring up phrases like somehow, maybe, whatever, whether, if only, etc. It sometimes just says ‘If.’
The ships tossing bring up instability, and further emphasize all the motion meanings. We are not using them today, but we’re talking about up and down, back and forth, oscillating, whirling – etc. So once in a while Two of Pentacles means nausea.
.
Wheel of Fortune …………. Wheel of Fortune is what happens, and the influences behind what happens, on earth plane. It depicts the idea that spirits interfere in your life and mine, good one and bad ones, and God’s name gets mentioned in the center of the roulette disc you see there with the evil red lizard on the rim. This card means ‘it happens’ most frequently. Then it means any word for luck – chance, coincidence, fate, destiny, karma, the big break, the dream come true, winning the lottery – all of those that you can think of. It is about gambling and especially about winning at gambling too. Put any excuse for it to say ‘Make it happen,’ and it will – whether the ‘make’ is a Tarot card like we have here, Ace of Swords, or another one like Magician, or whether the ‘make’ comes from the question posed.

………………………….. Ace of Swords is more about one side prevailing and the other side losing totally. It means ‘total’ and ‘totally’ as well as ‘absolute’ and ‘absolutely.’

………..……….………. Ace of Swords and Wheel of Fortune Ace of Swords and Wheel of Fortune are about making it happen for the best, and the supreme role of destiny. Five of Wands…………. Energetic involvement, competition, fighting, struggle … some kind of battle going on. More of a conflict than a contest for who’s dominant. Five of Wands emphasizes the workout, and can even mean exercise.

Wheel of Fortune………. Here’s luck, destiny, coincidence, it just happened, and it happened for the best. Wheel of Fortune is the optimum outcome, lucking out, hitting the jackpot … oh yes, that roulette wheel suggests gamabling and so does the meaning of coincidence or destiny prevailing. The underlying meaning of Wheel of Fortune is that nonphysical entities, both divine and infernal, affect human affairs. You can see the critters, and you need to know that the letters interspersed with R O T A are the Hebrew letters of God’s name (the main one).

Guidance How powerful are you? Power is making things happen or preventing things from happening. We showcase things happening either by dint of destiny, fate, coincidence, luck or karma, and things happening by force of necessity, orders of authority, by threat or arms. We suggest there is a not-so-obvious choice you have as an individual, or as a member of a human group, of either acting or being acted upon. The people can get together and not accept an event or idea, or the people can be acted upon. There is such a thing as unruly children, and there is such a thing as lucking out, we say as we observe the working of events in play. Choose to be, when appropriate, one of those people who makes things happen one way or the other.

Ace of Swords – Four of Wands – Wheel of Fortune
.
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
.
………..………………………… Ace of Swords and Wheel of Fortune Ace of Swords and Wheel of Fortune make things happen. Ace of Swords is by necessity, by force, by orders of authority, by threat or weapon. Wheel of Fortune is by coincidence, destiny, fate, karma, or accident. Both Ace of Swords and Wheel of Fortune mean ‘winner.’ Ace of Swords is a winner in a contest where there is a loser – someone is defeated – and Wheel of Fortune is the luck of the draw.
In between force and coincidence we find people today.
So our story is about people – as individuals, or together en masse – either acting to make events and ideas happen, or being directed passively into those events and ideas.

Ace of Swords………. Ace of Swords is enforcement and victory. It stands for victory in which there is a defeat of an opponent, for orders either received or given, for asserting or aggression directed against something. Ace of Swords is a situation in which there is a winner and a loser, usually. It also often simply means ‘must’ or ‘have to.’ A hand holds a sword straight up which is doubly crowned, a crown and laurel leaves.
.
Four of Wands ………… A society wedding is a political occasion as the alliance between leading families. Four of Wands is groups of people, from a couple to a nation and beyond. It stands for factions and for, say ‘all the people who.’ Often, it translates ‘we’ and ‘they’ and ‘them’ and ‘us.’ It also means house, home, building, and public or government buildings or company headquarters.
.
Wheel of Fortune ………. Its cluttered illustration is not immediately informative. All the critters are spiritual influences that affect earth lives, including infernal ones. In the center, the Hebrew letters interspersed with the letters R, O, T, and A are the Name of God, that is Jehovah or Yahweh in English. The meaning of Wheel of Fortune, therefore, is that our physical lives on earth are affected by spiritual influences of all kinds. The center part looks like a roulette wheel, which helps Wheel of Fortune mean gambling, winning, luck (especially good luck) and coincidence. Fate, destiny, karma belong to Wheel of Fortune as well. Often, it translates ‘happening’ or ‘event.’

Strength – Knight of Cups – Ace of Swords

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
Strength and Ace of Swords win over opposition. Ace of Swords is a decisive victory in which the opponent is defeated – it’s all or nothing, the win is definitive, decisive and declared. Like an election, when coming in second is losing publicly.
Strength is finessing an opponent in such a way he is converted or has to agree with you. She is making the lion who came against her her pet. He is purring in agreement and doesn’t like it a bit. That is a diplomatic victory.
Strength and Knight of Cups are diplomatic. Strength shows the kind of victory in which the opponent is still there and working with you, and Knight of Cups shows the diplomatic approach – the friendliness, the openness, the initiative-taking.
Strength = Knight of Cups + Ace of Swords, victory through diplomacy.
Wheel of Fortune is the victory of which the other Rider Waite Tarot cards speak. It means an optimum result, a wonderful event, a happening, fortune and luck and gambling.
So our story is that you get the best result by being both agreeable and assertive. Also that coincidence determines what happens to us, and we have to accept that.

Strength Strength is finessing an opponent in such a way he is converted or has to agree with you. She is making the lion who came against her her pet. He is purring in agreement and doesn’t like it a bit. That is a diplomatic victory. |
Knight of Cups shows the diplomatic approach – the friendliness, the openness, the initiative-taking. This is the person everyone likes, the winning personality, the fellow with the helpful suggestions and the help. He is the go-between, the one who introduces people socially, and the warm fuzzy boyfriend. He wears Mercury’s wings on his helmet and extends the cup of friendship in his illustration. |
Ace of Swords Force is sometimes the only way, when it’s a win-or-lose situation, pass or fail. Then you gotta do what you gotta do. Enforcement is making others do. When the battle is over, victory is sweet. Ace of Swords is the proof, the last word, the point being made forcefully: no ifs ands or buts. The sword upraised and crowned, the laurel strands, make Ace of Swords’ meaning clear. |
Wheel of Fortune The Laws of Random Distribution create and prevent events. They influence me, and there’s no other way than to accept it. Would you rather be lucky than brilliant? Life’s a gamble. The concept is illustrated by a roulette wheel with God’s Hebrew name in the center, and all sorts of mythical out-there critters who are reading or writing in books surrounding the wheel, at the margins in the clouds. |

Did you come here just for your predictions? – If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.
Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)
Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.
