Eight of Wands – Why Eight of Wands means communication in all sorts of ways (both written and spoken), I cannot say. I just tell you it does. It is a lead speak/tell/say Tarot card.

It also means numbers and amounts of things – words like these: many, all, several, quite a few, a lot of, one of those, everything. It means one after another (which the illustration sort of supports), more and more. It also indicates plurals by putting nearby words in plural form. Sometimes Eight of Pentacles just adds and ‘s.’ You can see that in the lone pink ‘s’ in some of our one-sentence readings under the heading ‘NOW WE SHOW WHERE EACH PHRASE IN EACH SENTENCE COMES FROM.’

Eight of Wands’ illustration does support its ‘quickly’ meanings … which we aren’t using today. The boards are flying through the air.
Two of Cups – Tarot Verbatim’s™ Two of Cups takes some getting used to. (It’s not any other system’s or school’s Two of Cups.) Its core meaning is the presence of a factor or person that affects the situation without its presence being known – often something or someone invasive. (Think the middle-man that marks the product up that you are buying.) Something underlying is in the air, it says with its caduceus suspended between a couple who are announcing an engagement (referred to as ‘pledging their troth’ back then).

The caduceus is a spirit executing a spell, a meddling third party undeclared. (You see a caduceus in the symbol for doctors today, the rod with intertwined snakes, because doctors used to be magicians.) There are various versions of the caduceus: The one in the illustration is elaborate. Moses, an Egyptian prince who (like all high-born Egyptians of his time) was trained in magic, used the caduceus to save people who looked at it from snake bites in the wilderness trek.

Two of Cups can be a sexual love affair, sexual attraction, seduction – since the couple is about to marry. Two of Cups should also be about getting engaged, but I have not encountered that. Maybe you will.

Now think of all the influences that are not apparent! You can see how large a net Two of Cups casts. Two of Cups doesn’t even have to identify specifically what the anonymous influence is; it can simply supply phrases like: isms; redirected; misplaced; disadvantages; invade with; interrupt; behind your back; feeling entitled; designed to influence; static in the background or environment. (And that’s just today.)

Wrapping your head around this concept and applying it takes some experience. World – Two of Cups is the background butting in. World is keeping a clean deck: Nothing gets through. And both these cards are esoteric (occult oriented). So World is defensive and Two of Cups is on the offense.

World’s picture too needs explaining. You see a shapely dancer whose crotch is covered by a banner, with a wand in each hand, enclosed in a heavy wreath-wall. Outside the wall, funky critters are looking away from the dancer. ‘World’ refers to the highest level of magical expertise: Master of Both Worlds. That means a person who can access both infernal and divine influences to accomplish. Occult tradition considers such a person both male and female (hence the banner-scarf). World is being master of your field, being superior, being untouchable.

World is keeping everything out. World repels interference (including troublemaking). World does as she pleases, is private, and isn’t a member of any herd. World (like High Priestess, Nine of Pentacles, Four of Swords) does not participate, does not respond, is unavailable: don’t call me; I’ll call you).

World has some miscellaneous meanings and applications. The wreath can be a filter. This card can say something is in a container or contained. World can mean out of the loop, the flip side of its refusing to be influenced. World can be off limits. World can mean exempt from, or better off without. World is a shapely woman, and can be about a dancer, including a nude dancer, and a nude dancer in a cage. When the inquiry is about mechanical topics, world can be the contents of a sealed component box, can be a barrier like a gasket that no leaks must pass through.

Eight of Wands – Nine of Pentacles – Ten of Cups

World and Nine of Pentacles are similar women. No way do these cards stand for men. Both are: private, successful, competent, knowledgeable, unavailable, superior. Both shut people out but are not engendering resentment doing so.
The distinction between them is Nine of Pentacles is a businesswoman a lot of the time, and World tends to be esoteric. Also, World can be a shapely dame. Nine of Pentacles has too much dignity for anyone to think of her that way.
Both Eight of Wands and Ten of Cups suggest people together. That is the main meaning of Ten of Cups – happy marriage, happily-ever-after, happy people, prosperity (Nine of Pentacles is prosperity too) and ‘everybody’ like a happy reunion scene.
Eight of Wands is talk, communication of any kind. It means ‘many’ and makes a nearby card mean a plural word. It is also about ‘quickly’ and ‘one thing after another, sequentially.
Nine of Pentacles is a single woman; Ten of Cups is married.
Life stories again today. Not a lot of variety: The women are happy, content, and doing well. (I’ll drink to that.)

Nine of Pentacles does well for herself and is a private, successful, competent, knowledgeable, unavailable, superior woman. She does not let people in the door of her life, has a gift for that. Tends to be a businesswoman, tends to be a single woman. She is often well-off financially, but not necessarily so: She is comfortable in her circumstances and ‘don’t need nobody.’
Eight of Wands One of the simple Rider Waite Tarot cards in Tarot Verbatim(TM), Eight of Wands is about talk, communication of any kind. The sticks flying through the air bring on any word that means rapid, as in ‘rapid succession.’ It means ‘many’ and makes a nearby card mean a plural word.
Ten of Cups Everybody has plenty, is happy, and gets along with everybody in a community way. Happy marriage, good family. Life in the suburban gold course gated community or its equivalent. Reunion of close family or friends type feeling.
World can be a complex card in Tarot Verbatim (TM), but today she is a person who is private, successful, competent, knowledgeable, unavailable, superior. She excludes undesirable anythings from her sphere by such an act of will that she is simply invisible to them.
World tends to be esoteric. Also, World can be a shapely dame.

Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)
Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

Advice is strange today. It suggests we inform ourselves about friendly enemies, propaganda, people with self-serving agendas, that we study their language and presentation (body language) to identify them as that type and block them from associating with us. Oh, dear: profiling! It suggests this defense is necessary on a spiritual level too. We defend ourselves individually with help from friends, not in any group.

We have two women here who each mean spiritually adept. We have someone up to his tricks who can be a mooch, a con, a user. And we have written or spoken communication which reflects back to one of the women who has a book in her lap. Hmmm. Not the usual stuff. Most of these sentences would be ‘she’ because of the two female cards. I deliberately avoided that because the messages are general, to everybody. High Priestess has a book in her lap, and Eight of Wands refers to written material. World is immune to agendas, mooches and ploys, and Six of Wands is one who does that behavior. Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards Six of Wands is the friendly enemy, the spy, the giver of insulting compliments, the guest who takes your towels. This is the mooch, the backstabber, the two-timer, the taxman. The illustration is about the betrayal of King Richard III to the Arabs so another guy could rule his kingdom as his standin. Yes, another Middle Ages added card. Here, it means ‘misinterpret’ regarding the language of the Eight of Wands. High Priestess is she who knows all, the lady, the expert. She is pictured as the knower of occult knowledge, the one who is the teacher rather than the doer – who is passive. She is pictured sitting between the ‘Justice’ and ‘Mercy’ pillars of the Kaballah, with the tree of life behind her in pomegranates. World is about being master of both worlds, a top echelon of spiritual (and occult) ability. The idea behind the wreath that surrounds her that keeps out the monsters is that when you have high level spiritual ability, the spooky dudes avoid you. Same principle as walking through the ghetto confidently. The general meaning of the card is ‘nothing gets to her.’ She is immune to others’ influence and is not looking to influence or proselytize them. Eight of Wands is communication, both written and spoken. It means ‘a number of’ or ‘a lot of.’ Its illustration is those boards with sprouts flying through the air one above the other over a nondescript landscape.
