Our Daily Spread for June 29, 2011

Advice is about those dark-night-of-the-soul times: that the way a desperate person looks at his downside affects what if anything he does in that moment about the situation. Determination, when you are weak, focuses what resources you do have on doing something. That focus or attitude or way you characterize (within your own heart) a terrible fix, either bypasses the despair that brings on paralysis or invites it.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. At least one of those sentences has something to say to you. Pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

The Question for weekdays is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.”

The Question for weekends is stated right on top on those days. Comment or call if you have a suggestion for a question.

(Some days are ‘keep an eye open for’ and some days are ‘green light, go fast.’)

*Go to Advice to apply what those sentences say (in the best way) for you. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.) Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

Personal Perspective

When you think of what you don’t have, think harder of what to be doing about it.

Know what is depleting you, focus on what to do about it.

Feeling not up to it? – Make yourself do one thing at a time.

Thinking one thought at a time limits your thinking.

Self-pity keeps you obsessed.

Is aware of the handicap but more aware of getting things done.

Seeing yourself as disadvantaged is the one thing that keeps you there.

(He) is working on his own idea that (he) is worthless.

Wills himself to keep at it, knowing he is ill.

When you are downtrodden, find motivation to keep at it.

Business Perspective

Poverty consciousness or work consciousness.

The working poor know it and still do their job.

Thinking of yourself as a worker is one way to be poor.

He sees they are so poor, he becomes the ambitious worker.

The job he wants more than anything, he knows he is unqualified for.

He is an apprentice for slave wages until he can do the main skill.

You need the money badly and you know that job is yours.

He is obsessed with thinking this job is so beneath him.

Thinks of himself as a workingman and is motivated by what he doesn’t have.

He identifies being a man with being a worker, and he is unemployed.

He is ashamed of himself because of this idea about what he does for a living.

Working for slave wages gives him the idea he is inferior.

Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread

This is an interesting bunch! We have THE two cards that mean to focus, to have an idea, and one’s identity. Page of Pentacles is a person’s image, a person’s self-image, to think, the thought, to be; and Knight of Pentacles is to concentrate, to focus on one thing or concept, to be tough and manly.

Then we have poverty, and the job. Poverty is the Five of Pentacles in Rider Waite Tarot, and it means to be ashamed, to be lacking or inferior, to be ill, to be downtrodden or pathetic, specifically to be blighted in consciousness. The job is Eight of Pentacles, and it also means to keep at it, to do one thing after another, to be a workingman or working class, and steady effort.

Knight of Pentacles is determination and strength; Five of Pentacles is self-pity and weakness.

Knight of Pentacles is determined, and Eight of Pentacles is persistent.

Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards

Five of Pentacles is living at the depths of despair, being in dire want, self-pity, dark night of the soul, being homeless, lonely or in grief. It is also about being sick, handicapped or having that worthless feeling that accompanies clinical depression. It is about not knowing the cure anymore you are so engrossed in the disease. Pictured are a mother and son injured and freezing walking past a cathedral that would have food and warmth for them.

Page of Pentacles is a person’s image, a person’s self-image, to think, the thought, to be. He or she is the student or apprentice looking to please others, looking to learn – the student. The illustration in Rider Waite shows a young person his or her mind.

Knight of Pentacles is a similar card in Rider Waite to its preceding Page. He means to be determined (‘one thing on his mind’), to concentrate, to focus on one thing or concept, to be tough and manly. His illustration shows a tough short sturdy dark fellow on a tough short sturdy dark horse.

Eight of Pentacles is working on it, a workingman, keeping steadily at it or being persistent, repetitive action, doing the same thing over and over again. His illustration shows a workingman making the same item over and over again, persistently.
