Tarot Readings for You for December 3, 2013 Tuesday©

Guidance     Advice We feel a natural sadness and regret when one chapter or phase of our existence ends and another is upon us. It could be going to college or the ’empty nest’ or divorce or moving to another love relationship or the death of a spouse, or even moving away from the neighborhood or selling a house. Any old end of any old phase may evoke a primordial sadness that things do not go on, they shift and change, so we cannot stay the same person we are either.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the four cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Tarot Readings: Marriage (Four of Wands and Death)

I won’t regret marrying you no matter what happens.

Not moping anymore since there could be a marriage.

There isn’t any more family. What am I going to do? I miss being family.

I just wish the family were not coming to an end like this.

What a loss if they do not go through with the wedding.

Will not fail to go through with the big wedding.

Ending one marriage after another, you feel like a failure.

Sorry the marriage ended that way, but life goes on.

Mourning Family/Marriage/Community Loss (Four of Wands and Five of Cups)

Going through mourning a death in the family.

This death is one more loss for the community.

The phases of grief when you’re not a family anymore.

Working through grief when death ends a marriage.

Feeling bad that there doesn’t seem to be a family anymore.

This kind of shameful family life is not going to continue.

Family woes do not go on indefinitely.

Not letting the past haunt me, but going on with a respectable family life.

The past is over, and I am going on with my life with the people I am part of.

Tarot Readings: Losing the House (Four of Wands and Five of Cups)

In the process of losing the house; it’s not over yet.

Sorry I can’t continue living in that house.

The building is not quite a total loss.

It’s not a good neighborhood, it keeps going downhill.

You can’t lose, there are no down cycles in high end estates.

Tarot Readings: Shameful Organization (Four of Wands and Five of Cups)

The organization has no shame about continuing.

Ashamed this agency causes one death after another.

Regrets not continuing to be a member of the (club/church/board, etc.).

I am ashamed the organization no longer does (that) regularly.

I ended it with those people, it’s one thing after another that I am ashamed of.

Miscellaneous Tarot Readings

Everybody is sad it’s not going to be this way anymore.

You can’t fail if you keep trying to be one of the good people of the town.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Death

Two of Pentacles – Four of Wands – Five of Cups

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

A NEGATIVE MODIFIER MAKES CONTRADICTIONS

Tarot Verbatim™ uses Death as any negative modifier: It makes a card it pairs with say the opposite. Since Five of Cups means: failing, loss, shame or ashamed, depressing, failure or fails, being sad, among other things, when Death modifies it, you have ‘not sorry’ instead. So here are what these two are saying today:

Five of Cups and Death. Mourning a death. Not mourning. The bad past is over. To lose, in the end. Not letting the past haunt me. Won’t regret. Sad ending. Not moping around anymore. Will not fail. Fail, in the end. No shame. Can’t fail.

Two of Pentacles and Death The same potential for a slew of contradictory meanings is Two of Pentacles’ ‘ongoing’ and ‘continuing’ category of phrases. When Death comes to modify these, here’s what we get.

Two of Pentacles and Death Ending one after another. Not ongoing or not continually. Does not go on indefinitely. Do/Does not go through with. Not going to be this way anymore. No longer (does that) regularly. (Cause of) one death after another. No __ cycles. Not going through a phase.

Two of Pentacles and Five of Cups The same potential for a slew of contradictory meanings is Two of Pentacles’ ‘ongoing’ and ‘continuing’ category of phrases, when the ‘ongoing’ or ‘continuing’ is applied to a group of cards. Here are what Two of Pentacles and Five of Cups mean together, and the negative modifier of Death is sitting alongside them with its trigger finger itching:

Two of Pentacles and Five of Cups Continually sorry. Going through mourning. Working through grief. Phases or cycles of grief. In the process of failing. Continuing loss, or one loss after the other. One thing after another that I am ashamed of. Shame about continuing. Down cycles. Here is what Death does to Five of Cups’ phrases:

Five of Cups and Death Not sorry. Mourning a death. The past is over. To lose, in the end. Not letting the past haunt me. Won’t regret. Sad ending. Not moping around anymore. Will not fail. No shame. Can’t fail.

So you can be sorry continually, not sorry, not continually sorry or continually not sorry in this four-Tarot-spread … and that list causes cross-eyedness of the mind.

Two of Pentacles and Four of Wands We are putting the ‘ongoing’ feeling with family, respectable people, the people I am part of, or places I am a member of. Marriage, being a married person. Here are the phrases we get:

Two of Pentacles and Four of Wands May be family. Going on with respectable family life. Going on with my life with the people I am part of. Go through with the big wedding. Could be a marriage. Keep trying to be one of the good people of the town. Continuing to be a member. Cycles in high end estates.

Now watch what Death does when it joins Four of Wands:

Four of Wands and Death No more family. The family doesn’t or isn’t. Not one of those people. Isn’t a member. I ended it with those people. Not being a member.

A NEGATIVE MODIFIER CAN BE A GOOD THING

BUT don’t think of Death as a negative (bad) card because it negatively modifies. Would you rather be miserable or not miserable? – the ‘not miserable’ is two negative cards; ‘miserable’ is only one.

Five of Cups and Death Not miserable. Mourning a death. Not mourning. The past is over. To lose, in the end. To not lose. Not letting the past haunt me. Won’t regret. Sad ending. Not sad. Not moping around anymore. Will not fail. No shame. Can’t fail.

The next point about the card labeled ‘Death’ is: It does not have that primary meaning but is a support card for the subject of death. And here in our spread it is right next to Four of Wands, family, and right next to Five of Cups, mourning. So mourning a death in the family, very clearly. Two of Pentacles can add ‘it’s that time,’ meaning an anniversary to mourn. It can also add a ‘maybe,’ which is good.

‘A death in the family’ can include the demise of a pet to people who consider their companion animals family. (I have mourned elk and deer and horses and birds, not to mention some ducks and geese friends.)

.

Two of Pentacles depicts a juggler in a silly costume dancing while he juggles two balls (pentacles) that are connected by the sign, in math, for repeating numbers, like fractions make, while ships are tossed on big waves behind him. Here we have all kinds of movement: up and down, ’round and ’round, back and forth and wobbly. Two of Pentacles’ most common meaning is continuing, keeping up something, ongoing. Next is unstable and silly. Then the movements.

Four of Wands The society wedding is a community event. Leading houses are united in marriage. Family, respectable family, moneyed families. Headquarters, organizations of any type: club, university, board, governmental agencies. It means neighborhood and even country.

Five of Cups “I wish to God I’d never …” Regret, sorry, failure, melancholy, haunted by the past. Loss, and being the loser. Ignoring the full cups and being haunted by the ones you spilled. A black robed figure mourns the past and feels the failure.

Death The Great Negator, I call it. It seldom introduces the idea of death but is a support card for it if another Rider Waite Tarot card that refers to the topic appears or if that is the subject of the question. Five of Cups is mourning, so now Death can refer to a death. Illustration shows the passing of the crown when the king dies. It’s the ‘The king is dead, long live the king’ thing. Other Tarot systems have that ‘end of one thing and beginning of another’ as its main meaning. Not in Tarot Verbatim. In Tarot Verbatim, this card most often puts a negative modifier on a surrounding card.

Advice  Attachment to our foundation (be it ever so despised, even) is fundamental.  When we leave a place we have lived, worked, loved or even been sentenced to, emotions take over.  Anticipation of progress in the place we are rushing into is exciting, especially when the impetus of getting out of a sad scene fuels the anticipation.  New life and old life occupy the same space for a while.

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Advice (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

GROUP ANALYTICAL TAROT READING  Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

Marriage (Four of Wands)

Upset leaving a failed marriage.

Getting married is him losing so he is very anxious about pursuing you.

Anxious to get out of this depressing marriage as soon as possible.

Depressed about his home life but is afraid to leave.

Sorry I got all excited and married in such a hurry.

After a nervewracking heartache back there, (he) pursues a solid marriage.

Wish I had left the marriage when I had the urge to.

Heartsick and anxious as I get on with life in the family I do belong in.

In a hurry to get married but afraid I will fail.

Exciting Progress (Page of Swords + Knight of Wands)

Exciting progress for someone from a family of losers.

Zooming ahead to a new house/neighborhood while still upset about the past.

Making a beeline out of that scene of defeat and upset to a stable environment.

Exciting to be moving on up so fast in the Company after what happened.

Moving to a new neighborhood is exciting after losing my home.

On my way to being somebody is thrilling to me, spurred by past failure.

Leaving an exciting past behind for a nice respectable life.

Got over that sadness in a hurry, am anxious to be with my people.

Home (Four of Wands)

Losing the home and very upset about moving.

Sorry he got mad and stormed out of the house.

Leaving the house I miss is what upsets me.

Hurrying home after a nervewracking disappointment.

Moving to a new neighborhood is exciting after losing my home.

He’s loser and I left him, threatened in my own home.

I left the place too fast; now I’m homesick and on edge.

Fired up to get out of this depressing country.

Sorry I left my country for this aggravating situation.

That motor home has been aggravating in the past.

Business, Company (Four of Wands)

The Company has to get out of this loss fast, it’s an emergency.

Wish I had left the Company/Family when I had the urge to.

Sorry I left that Company for this aggravating situation.

Fired up to get out of this depressing Company culture.

This is an exciting time to be in this Company; it is taking off after a down time.

The story of leaving a place (home, marriage, business, house, company) in a hurry, upset by a loss hits you in the face in this spread:

Page of Swords … Upset …
Knight of Swords … leaving …
Five of Cups … a failed …
Four of Wands … marriage.

Page of Swords, upset, jittery, nervous, threatened … and excited. Knight of Wands, fast progress, moving out of town, being in a rush, pursuing or leaving.  Five of Cups, sadness, loss, wishing I hadn’t. Four of Wands, home, marriage, business, house, company.

But then you see ‘excited to move’ and ‘exciting progress’ – Page of Swords + Knight of Wands.  And ‘pursuing marriage,’ Page of Wands + Four of Wands.  So we are talking about a transition – about going either way, (depressed to leave, excited to pursue).  (Have you noticed we often do that? – things go either way?)

The star card here is Four of Wands as the home, marriage, business, house or company our lead character (you?) is either chasing after or running away from.

LEARN TAROT BY THE PICTURES

Page of Swords Beset by paranoia is he: There he stands on a grassy knoll, whirling around with sword in air and hair flying and nothing is seen for a mile in a circle. Upset, jealous, jittery, afraid, wrought up and excited.

Knight of Wands shares this hyper-alertness. He is fleeing or pursuing full speed ahead, his club brandished and his clothes flying. He is moving, making fast progress.

Five of Cups wishes he had … or hadn’t. The past is haunting us here, and we have experienced a loss that hangs over us like a fog. Spilled wine, and our back is to wine that is left. Mourning and grief.

Four of Wands Our foundation – home, marriage, business, house or company – is an attachment even if we leave it in disgust. We tend to run back there, especially during or after a loss. Illustration here shows a society wedding which is foundational to a community.

Death Two of Pentacles –  Four of Wands –  Five of Cups   MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD The first thing I notice is  “Sorry”  and  “Not sorry.”  Death which means no-never-not-isn’t (or any negative word) + Five of Cups which can mean sorry.  A further potential for a bunch of contradictory meanings is the ‘ongoing continuing’  category of meanings for Two of Pentacles.  So you can be sorry continually,  not sorry,  not continually sorry or continually not sorry … and that is a sloppy list that causes cross-eyedness of the mind.   Next thing is that the card labeled Death does not have that primary meaning but is a support card for the subject … and here is  ‘mourning’  in Five of Cups.  So mourning a death.  Right next to that is Four of Wands:  family,  community,  marriage or spouse,  couple,  wedding.  (We are not having fun here.) And of course we also don’t have an action card. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS Two of Pentacles depicts a juggler in a silly costume dancing while he juggles two balls (pentacles) that are connected by the sign that means continuing indefinitely in math (the ‘eternity’  symbol),  while ships are tossed on big waves behind him.  Here we have all kinds of movement:  up and down,  ’round and  ’round,  back and forth and wobbly.  The most common meaning is continuing,  keeping up something,  ongoing. It seldom introduces the idea of death but is a support card for it if another Rider Waite Tarot card that refers to the topic appears.  Five of Cups is mourning,  so now Death can refer to a death.  Illustration shows the passing of the crown when the king dies.  It’s the ‘The king is dead,  long live the king’  thing.  In Tarot Verbatim,  this card most often puts a negative modifier on a surrounding card. DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS

Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

.

Relationship Perspective (Three of Pentacles)

Regarding a mutual give and take,  I won’t:  won’t talk about it,  won’t participate.

Not doing my part in the relationship,  not admitting that I am being stingy.

Holding out for a mutual relationship when he/she is withholding participation.

I refuse to reciprocate and am not divulging that I will not participate.

Will not accept that he/she is in a relationship,  isn’t doing anything,  isn’t saying anything.

We are at an impasse,  and I can’t do anything because he/she won’t even agree to meet.

A relationship is at an impasse because one party will not admit he/she knows something that is a deal breaker

In the love triangle,  all three parties are not communicating or getting together,  nothing is happening.

Best lay low and let it pass,  you feel deep down,  or there just won’t be any relationship or any deal at all.

I’m not about to admit our relationship: I have nothing to do with you,  not about to talk.

Since you aren’t doing your part,  I am not doing mine,  and I won’t talk about it either.

Refusing to keep his/her mouth shut when he/she isn’t even in the relationship.

This is a secret relationship,  we deny it,  we lay low.

Refuses to keep the secret,  and isn’t doing what was agreed upon.

I’m not admitting that I am withholding,  that I am not going to have a real relationship.

.

Business Perspective/Deal or Exchange (Three of Pentacles)

Aren’t doing their part in the deal,  and aren’t letting on that they aren’t.

(He) refuses to say or do anything (he) agreed to do.

I do not want to keep quiet about not having any part in the deal.

Won’t admit I refused to participate at the meeting

I am not about to withhold doing my part,  but I am not really a party to it.

We have a deal but no one is doing anything,  or even admitting that they are not.

My mouth is shut.  They are not going to let me participate in the deal,  so I won’t be.

They shut me out.  I am not a participant,  and I won’t be making money in the transaction.

An impasse is when you can’t take any action because another party won’t even agree to meet.

Best lay low and let it pass,  you feel deep down,  or there just won’t be any relationship or any deal at all.

A negotiation is at an impasse because one of the parties knows a secret that is a deal breaker.

I won’t say anything,  I just won’t do it and I’m not meeting to discuss it either.

Negotiations stall over his refusing to do that for that price.

Not letting them know he is not doing it,  and refusing to negotiate.

Not paying them because they did not do it,  and refusing to negotiate.

He/She does not want anything to do with (them),  will not meet with (them),  and isn’t doing a thing.

He/She settled for not enough money,  after the offer was refused and they did not respond.

I want nothing to do with this deal,  I shorted it and am not going to have any participation.

Am keeping my mouth shut in the meeting,  but no way am I not in on the deal.

I am out of the action,  not admitting I don’t have the money and I don’t have what it takes to be a party to the deal.

I am not a party to our deal.  I am not going to admit I ain’t doing it.

Miscellaneous

Don’t want to get together with them,  have not had enough sleep.

Did not participate in the meeting,  and am keeping my mouth shut about my refusal to.

I did not want to keep their secret,  but I wasn’t at their meeting.

I am not going to admit I refused to just lay low at that meeting.

We met together,  and I won’t admit I kept my mouth shut and did not participate.

Now,   Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works?  If so,

*Go to Meanings and Illustrations:  Observation of the Spread section below.  This tells about the combined four pictures in the Daily Spread –  the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together to mean things.

*Go to Meanings and Illustrations:  Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards.  It is what each of the four cards,  by itself,  has to say.  It describes how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in this Spread.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works.

Say hello back!  Comment!  I spend two hours a day or more writing these to you.  Remember to share your experience about our experiment here if you have words for it.  Read others’ comments.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

Well, well.  The three fours in a row here.  Problem for Your Reader is:  THEY ARE ALL NEGATIVE.  In English, negatives cancel one another out.  In romance languages,  they emphasize one another.

Four of Cups is to refuse,  to not admit,  to hold out.  Four of Pentacles is to not admit,  to keep the secret,  to keep your mouth shut,  to withhold.  Four of Swords is to lay low,  to not participate or not be a participant in,  to sleep or sleep on it.  It is tricky, tricky, tricky to keep track of the negatives canceling one another out here!

The non-four is the spoiler card here:  Three of Pentacles is a relationship,  a deal,  a meeting.  Three of Pentacles gets together,  is a mutual deal or relationship.

My best advice is to not bother to get cross-eyed about the negatives,  and just go with the flow of the meanings here.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:   INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

Four of Cups One of the easy cards to remember the meaning of:   It shows in Rider Waite Tarot a seated person,   arms crossed,   head averted,  even legs crossed obviously saying   “NO,  I don’t want any.”   It means to refuse an offer as well as refuse to listen or refuse to do;   it means to not want.   This is the deal breaker.   (He is not going to call you.)

Four of Pentacles has a secret and is not divulging;   is not putting out the money or the whatever.   Is  ‘out of town.’   Is clamming up,   not admitting something.   To keep the secret,   to keep your mouth shut,   to withhold.  (He is not going to call you.)

Four of Swords is one to to lay low,   to not participate or not be a participant in,  to sleep or sleep on it.   This is a dormant phase,  can even describe a coma,   is even a support card to a strong death theme.   (He is not going to call you.)

Three of Pentacles And here we have the deal,   relationship,   settlement,   meeting or agreement that he is not gonna be in.   This Rider Waite Tarot card is about getting together,   agreeing,   each party doing his part;   or is about a relationship in which each party does his part fair and square.

Our Daily Spread for July 15, Friday

Advice is about a traumatic gut-wrenching event – about divorce, about losing house and home, about grief, about a life change that came precipitously and lingers on haunting the life. It describes the shock and the sadness of those experiences. But it is also about the time you were going to say something hurtful, and didn’t, and about the overthrow of established ways. ================================================================================= Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. At least one of those sentences has something to say to you. Pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

The Question for weekdays is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.”

The Question for weekends is stated right on top on those days. Comment or call if you have a suggestion for a question.

(Some days are ‘keep an eye open for’ and some days are ‘green light, go fast.’)

*Go to Advice to apply what those sentences say (in the best way) for you. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.) Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

==================================================================== Four of Wands Eight of Cups, Five of Cups, Tower DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS Tell the visitors here something meaningful to them. Divorce Perspective Regretting the marriage ending in divorce. Unexpected divorce means losing the house. Avoids living together because of a past depressing divorce. Not sorry anymore about the divorce – is getting married. Emotional Trauma Perspective Leaving home was a wrenching experience that (he/she) is still heartsick over. Haunted by the confrontational temper fit when he left the house. Cut short the outburst that would have hurt spouse’s feelings. Walking out on the spouse after losing a confrontation. Storming out of the house after losing a confrontation. Foreclosure or Losing the House Losing the house is a life-changing shock. Almost lost the house to foreclosure. Unexpected divorce means losing the house. Got out of that house when it was lost in a disaster. Miscellaneous Grief interrupted by an emergency in the family. Isn’t sorry anymore for wrecking the house. Suddenly the established values and mores are overthrown – a bad feeling about that. ==================================================================== Now, Part Two,

========================================================= MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD Damn!  You got marriage (Four of Wands).  You got divorce (Tower).  You got a sudden life change (Eight of Cups).  And you got feeling heartsick (Five of Cups).  This reads like the Thematic Apperception Test:  Make a story from these illustrations. Four of Wands is a building or home, and Tower is a building being destroyed. Both Eight of Cups and Tower speak of a sudden change that is not welcome.. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS Eight of Cups is a change that happens out of the blue. An interruption, disruption, interception, cut off at the pass. The Rider Waite illustration for it shows a fellow on foot (pilgrim, the books say) has to go in a different direction because the road is following a stream or river. Five of Cups is grief, regret, sorrow, sorry for the past, failure and loss. A bent black robed figure contemplates spilled wine, ignoring the cups that are not spilled, and the sky is totally gray. Tower shows lightning destroying a building, people falling headfirst out of it. It means disaster, destruction, sudden, shock. Four of Wands is the card that in Rider Waite depicts a wedding – a wedding of gentry, so it – in Tarot Verbatim ™ – refers to the Establishment. It serves mainly as one of the two positive marriage cards, this one emphasizing the official, formal side of marriage. .
