Tarot Readings for You for October 16, 2015 Friday©

GUIDANCE           Even if I know exactly what I want, the hidden cost of it is unknowable … until I get there. ‘Be careful what you wish for,’ we say. I very well may deal with something untrustworthy on the way to where I want to be. And do I really want this wish of mine to be granted if other people’s interests are also involved in it? Knowing how to deal with other people’s (What’s In It For Me) motives is usually the way people do get their precious purpose accomplished. So, am I up for that?

That vision you want about your shadow side? – you got it!

A vision from ‘out-there’ shows you having exactly what you want most.

There’s a conflict of interest between Enlightenment and Satisfaction with Life.

You have it all figured out in a flash, and are dealing with hidden agendas now.

Nine of Cups – Hanged Man – Two of Cups

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

.. …….…… ….. Hanged Man and Two of Cups together are fascinating.

Hanged Man is knowing, and is extrasensory perception.

Two of Cups is not knowing a factor that influences, or even controls, the situation you are in. *Unidentified parties to the transaction you are in* includes all sorts of things, from silent partners to a lover’s cheating to liens to frenemies to embezzlement and taxes, and even to interference by spirits in a transaction or relationship between people. Two of Cups is undeclared motives and undeclared interests of any and all kinds.

Hanged Man and Two of Cups together say ‘knowing what you don’t know’ or ‘knowing that there is something you don’t know.’ They say ‘sensing you are dealing with a crook’ and ‘knowing there’s a hidden price to pay.’ These two cards cover all sorts of scenarios and stories.

And the other card? – darn, it’s you, Nine of Cups: rewarding; getting what you want … and ‘what you want.’ Nine of Cups is accomplishing your purpose.

Nine of Cups and Hanged Man is really wanting to know, and is knowing what you want. It is desiring enlightenment fiercely. It can be realizing you already have what you wanted. It can be suddenly getting it: ‘What I really want is ….’ It describes getting the vision you want … or a vision of wanting it all. It even describes suddenly knowing what you wanted to know. (Tarot is like that: intertwined.)

Nine of Cups and Two of Cups can be wanting to get laid, or wanting to cheat. It can talk about the hidden disadvantage, the hidden price, of what you want … especially if that disadvantage is dealing with the shadow side, dealing with an untrustworthy party.

So we have stories. Stories about accomplishing your purpose by dealing with untrustworthy parties. Stories about knowingly getting rich by conniving.

And the focus of the message of the day is twofold: (1) Keep in mind that there are unknowns that may affect what you want to accomplish and (2) use adverse factors to get where you want to be. (Sometimes parasites can be useful?)

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE.

Nine of Cups           Nine of Cups is having what you want, or wanting it. The feeling you get after a sumptuous meal, like the illustration here shows. Being rich. Your dream comes true. You achieve your purpose. You are pleased, or you are pleasing someone. You are content with what you have, which is another way of having it all. (Buddha pointed that out a few thousand years ago.) Nine of Cups links wanting and having, which some people think is the law of attraction. (The law of attraction is really more like ‘Be what you want,’ but never mind.) Today Hanged Man brings out that link between envisioning and having.

Hanged Man           Hanged Man is enlightenment, realization, envisioning and all extrasensory perception. ‘Having a feeling’ is extrasensory perception; so is having a hunch. Hanged Man, as the subconscious, as knowing subliminally, sits next to Two of Cups, which is often ‘up to something’ and represents third-party interference. These two converge into all sorts of drama. Suspecting the hidden cost, Hanged Man and Two of Cups can say. Watch for it.

Hanged Man’s ESP extends to spiritual wisdom too. The illustration … if you know the myths … is what tells you that. Several myths, the world over, have the principal character of their story sacrificing a body part by hanging himself on a three, often for three days. All-father Odin, for one. Blend this concept with Two of Cups, representing the dark side, the evil motive or friendly enemy, and you have: knowledge of the shadow side; you have spiritual wisdom. You also have ‘knowing what’s up.’

Two of Cups           Two of Cups in Tarot Verbatim™ is not the romance and love card of other systems. Tarot Verbatim takes that caduceus very seriously, especially since it has not only the snakes but the lion’s head and the wings as well. This is a cobbled-together dark magic symbol. (Arthur Waite was known for this cobbling-together practice.) Moses, as a high-ranking Egyptian prince, was taught magic, and he married the daughter of a high priest (Miriam). Moses used the snakes to prevent people from being bitten by real snakes, the Bible recounts. So … the caduceus is high magic.

The caduceus is between, and overlooking, a couple who are ‘pledging their troth,’ meaning being engaged – which is being married, back then. So this illustration is about a dark-side overshadowing of a transaction between humans. Two of Cups isn’t just spirit sabotage, of course; it represent any third-party butting in at all.

In today’s spread, with Hanged Man as extrasensory perception, we are talking about the interference, or the role, of nonphysical entities – which can include, say, the culture you are a part of, or your loyalty to some group … any group. Damn, this card shows up for sports fanatics!

The art of the deal. How to get what you want from them? Know what they want from you, that’s how. And that knowing may be subliminal, subconscious, or even sneaky. The deal is done when you arrive at ‘I give you what you want; you give me what I want.’ In polite society, we refer to this as motivating people.
