Page of Pentacles – Young man is thoughtfully studying the subject pentacle. He is well-dressed and calm. Page of Pentacles is one of the simple easy-to-apply cards. Just about all his meanings will arise from what I just said here.

First, we have a young man who is well-behaved … just like his Knight of Cups friend in this spread. A young man who is studying something can be a student, of course. That is the type of person Page of Pentacles is. Like his cousin Page of Wands, he also represents the concept of ‘type of person’: He is an identity card.

.

Next, Page of Pentacles is all about ‘mind.’ Know, opinion, on his mind, think, understand, idea, conscious or consciously, and what he thinks.

.

Then we have phrases that contain ‘look,’ because he is looking, and also because of his looks: Remember, he is an identity card. Today we have: when you look like; is looking for; he is looking to.

.

Besides ‘look,’ we have ‘see.’ It’s used a little differently, so I list it separately here: sees, seeing, watching.

Lastly, Page of Pentacles remembers, which goes along with thinking, of course.

High Priestess – You see a seated lady wearing a hat like the Egyptian god-kings wore, sitting there peacefully, the moon at her feet. She sits between the pillars of mercy and judgment that characterize Kabbalah, and that were in the holy-of-holies in the Jewish temple. So this is a spiritual and an esoteric (occult) card. Its meanings, in some contexts, can get deeply philosophical and spiritual.

She sits alone, stays where she is, and represents the feminine principle of receptivity on the physical plane or realm, and activity on the spiritual plane or realm. She is the feminine principle simply because she is the number two Major Arcanae card.

So High Priestess’ common meanings are about being a woman, being feminine, being sedentary and/or stationary, or being a homebody, being quiet, secretive, being an introvert, being receptive (to a particular thing, usually), being the passive party.

.

Another class of common meanings for High Priestess are about knowing: she who knows, deep level (of anything), idea, spiritual woman, spiritual knowledge, spiritual concept, what she thinks of, she knows all, she is an expert, she knows and isn’t saying or doing anything about whatever-it-is.

High Priestess is also the data bank, the theory, the spiritual realm itself, the PhD., and can even be your higher self, soul, the superconscious.

And, yes, this is the card for ‘the other woman.’ I don’t make these things up; I observe and record them. If you think about it, a female who stays home and is passive is like a single woman dating a married man – waiting by the phone, so to speak, at home.

Knight of Cups – You see him as the communicator (the wings of Mercury on his Helmet), the one who takes initiative, who puts his hand out first – the salesman, the personable fellow we all like. He is polite, diplomatic – he has manners. His colors are pastel, and his lines are relaxed curves. His horse is a horsey, and is peacefully pawing the ground, not in movement. So Knight of Cups is a nice boy, nice man, thoughtful fellow, the friend, boyfriend, or best friend, and the one who helps, who is a buddy or lover.

Knight of Cups is offer and acceptance, giving and receiving, asking and being asked, but the emphasis, when it comes to Knight of Cups representing a person, is on taking the friendly initiative.
