Tarot Readings: Judgment and Page of Cups

.. …..

I may be coming back to the place I left behind.

A funny feeling this is phasing out and a new phase is coming in.

Is there life after death, and where am I going?

Should I tell, or just let bygones be bygones?

Curious about a séance with the departed.

See the light, feel foolish, move on.

I left, and am on my way back, wondering why.

.

Tarot Readings: Judgment and Six of Swords

.. … ..

What is the departed telling you?

Wondering whether the one who left is coming back.

Curious about this new place I’m going to.

Will moving give me a new life?

Am I really going to move again?

Putting your old life behind for a whole new life feels weird.

Let’s put this behind us and start over, shall we?

Why talk about the past? – you got over it anyway.

.

Tarot Readings: Page of Cups and Six of Wands

. …..n

Got a bright idea, am not as dumb as I used to be.

Where are you going with this strange new idea?

Asking again whether it’s over.

You recover – you get over it somehow.

Gets the idea to quit acting goofy.

Realize I will get away with it if it’s a joke.

Things have improved since I honked off and made a fool of myself.

Judgment This scene of Judgment Day shows dead people alive again, awakened by the angel’s horn. That short cross on the angel’s flag is the one that means where the spiritual and the physical intersect, or the union of those two.

.

We use the common meanings for Judgment which are: to come back; new life or new phase; back to life or recover or get over; the speak/tell/say theme of Tarot’s; life after death, including séance; and revelation or realize or idea (or get the idea). Judgment also translates ‘again’ because the people are alive again.

.

We are not using a number of Judgment’s minor meanings. You can Google ‘Judgment Tarot Verbatim’ to find them from the archives of our site.

.

Page of CupsPage of Cups depicts ‘strange’ and other such words. A fellow with an odd expression, body posture also odd, is dressed in women’s clothes and has a fish in a cup. This Page of Cups card and Seven of Pentacles are the ‘duh’ cards: They often put your sentence into question form, and they mean foolish, weird, misfit, out of place, wonder, curious, goofy dumb, fool.

.

Page of Cups also is about a joke, humor, or a comedy act.

.

Page of Cups stands for ‘not getting it,’ for, say, blond moments or getting stuck in stupid.

.

As the first Self card in Celtic Cross spreads, Page of Cups may be telling the reader: Look this makes no sense, but it’s an accurate answer.

.

Six of Swords People are in an humble boat going from one place to another, leaving at dusk or dawn. They huddle down, depressed, and have no luggage: refugees from something.

.

Elements of this scene make many Six of Swords’ meanings. In Six of Swords, the future is going to be better. That is one category of meanings. The bad past is another. Leaving the past behind is another. The person who left, leaves, or is leaving is another. Phasing out or distancing oneself is another. So is getting over something – phasing out of a bad scene, including illness.

.

Another category of meanings emphasizes the destination. Another emphasizes the travel itself – the moving, the journey.

.

Six of Swords also may appear for getting away, escaping … and even for getting away with something.

.

The fact the mother and son are departing, and the sad scene, give Six of Swords a category that relates to ‘the departed,’ grief, feeling very sad or depressed.

.

Since Six of Swords refers to the past, you find it in the ‘past’ part of your Tarot story more than you would expect. Watch for it to lead you to use past tense.

Life changes here. Six of Swords is leaving; Judgment is coming back; and in the middle is the question mark, Page of Cups. Judgment is a new life; Six of Swords is putting the past behind, and Page of Cups poses a question about that, or indicates something foolish is involved here. Leaving, Six of Swords, and Judgment, coming back, with Page of Cups’ skeptical stance suggest ‘If I leave, will I just come back?’ And, since Judgment means ‘again’ because those bones live again, Six of Swords and Judgment say ‘leaving again.’ Lots of situations to be found in these two Tarot cards.

.

Six of Swords and Judgment are both about recovering, especially from sickness or emotional trauma. Six of Swords is getting over it gradually as you leave it behind, feeling down about whatever it was back there. Judgment is a quick recovery and focuses on the new phase, the new life, ahead. Six of Swords and Judgment are both a better life.

.

Note that Six of Swords and Judgment both are about a death. Six of Swords translates ‘the departed,’ because that journey over water of broken-spirited people suggests that, and because, well, they are departing. And Six of Swords also is grieving – being left behind and feeling sad. And Judgment, of course, shows coffins and obviously is about life after death.

.

Six of Swords and Judgment are changes and are about going from one place, or one state of being, to another.

.

Page of Cups stands by in our story, as he usually does in most stories, asking questions and making questions, feeling awkward or foolish or weird, being curious as he wonders why and wonders whether. He represents a strange idea, modifying Judgment’s new idea. He also represents a dumb idea, and acts goofy.

.

Page of Cups also represents humor, a comedian, a joke, and ‘funny.’ He is a performer (a dancing juggler), and sometimes will stand for a performing act of any sort.

.

We have no action to speak of to make a story of today’s three Rider Waite Tarot cards. We describe that trough we sometimes find ourselves in as we digest what went on around us with an eye toward where to go and what to do next.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined three pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these three cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Judgment – Page of Cups – High Priestess

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….……………………   Here we have three cards that involve the unknown in their different perspectives. Judgment is a whole new phase or life freshly begun, springing upon us. Page of Cups is the mystery itself: It is saying “Huh?” High Priestess is the mental and spiritual realm of secret knowledge, and it also means a woman who knows all and isn’t telling – and represents the feminine principle of receptivity, represents the spiritual reality or plane.

………………………..    Judgment is the new phase, new life, new chapter that is sprung upon a person. The picture – the Judgment Day angel waking the dead – tells us this new thing is a big surprise to the unprepared receivers of it; that it isn’t a plan that they would have been forewarned about.

………………………..    Page of Cups   is strangeness, and silliness. A fellow in women’s clothes who totes a dead fish around with him gets the idea of ‘strange and weird’ across. It means to doubt, to question, and it means funny, humorous, a comedian. Page of Cups puts its sentence into question form, as Seven of Pentacles can.

…………..…………..   High Priestess    is the spiritual life and is the other woman today, only two of her main meanings. Rider Waite’s meanings for (1) Magician, (2) High Priestess, (3) Empress and (4) Emperor arise from the esoteric meanings of those numbers. That makes High Priestess the feminine principle of being receptive on the physical plane and active on the mental or spiritual plane, so High Priestess is passive and knows all. This card comes by ‘the other woman’ meaning via the fact she stays put, is stationary, and does not take initiative (receptivity). That falls in with waiting for the male to call, the male to take initiative.

……….…………..          Judgment and Page of Cups  Judgment and Page of Cups say ‘a strange new idea’ and ‘a new level or life that feels strange.’ They also ask whether someone or something will come back or return.

………..…………..           Judgment and High Priestess Judgment and High Priestess unite the new life of afterlife with the spiritual realm ‘a new spiritual life.’ They also say ‘she tells,’ or ‘speak of spiritual realities.’ Telling or talking about the other woman is also right here.

……..……………      Page of Cups and High Priestess   Page of Cups and High Priestess are where we get the speculation about the other woman, and asking questions to or about a woman. Of course (action can go either way in your Rider Waite Tarot meanings) it is also a woman asking questions.

We strangely parallel the mysteries of spiritual life with the mysteries of the woman in a man’s life. Reminds you of the Song of Solomon. The curiosity, the wondering, is expressed often and well. And that’s as far as it goes. We convey the feeling of entering a new phase.

Judgment ………  Judgment illustrates a change in perspective, a new phase of consciousness or even a new life. People coming up out of coffins (on water, consciousness), represent visionary or eureka awareness, new consciousness. The change is an angel with a horn that awakens the dead with an announcement. Judgment’s meanings – such as surprise, again, ‘re-‘anything, a loud noise, an announcement – arise from the illustration.

.

Page of Cups ………….   is strangeness, and silliness. A fellow in women’s clothes who totes a dead fish around with him gets the idea of ‘strange and weird’ across. It means to doubt, to question, and it means funny, humorous, a comedian. Page of Cups puts its sentence into question form, as Seven of Pentacles can.

.

High Priestess ………. High Priestess’ meanings arise from it being the feminine principle (numerically), which is knowing and not acting – receptivity. This makes it mean staying and waiting (hence the other woman). The symbols on this card are from Jewish culture, from Kabbalah (the pomegranate tree, the pillars of mercy and justice, B and J, and maybe the sliver moon). This card represents the spiritual realm, plane, or level. It represents the expert level of anything (scholarly, for instance). It means keeping to yourself, being stationary and private. It can be a data base, a concept, research. It can mean being at peace or even cloistered. Sometimes it is the quiet woman who is controlling behind the scene, because it also means ‘behind the scene.’

*Why would (you) – such a talented person – put (yourself) through that misery again?

*When you’ve got the ability to have money again, why would you stay broke?

Tarot Readings: Questions We Ask When We Are Down (Five of Pentacles + Page of Cups)

*How can she get me feeling sorry for myself again?

*Why be sorry for yourself? – and why suffer? – when you have the ability to bounce back?

*You have the ability to change, so why are you so poor in spirit?

*You feel inferior for no reason at all: You have the talent to make a new life for yourself.

*Why do you feel you can’t do it again?

*Why be sorry for yourself when you can make a new life for yourself?

*Why suffer when you can recover?

*A sudden episode of stupidity can lose the most able person everything.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

Having (Queen of Pentacles), lacking (Five of Pentacles), recovery (Judgment) and a question mark (Page of Cups) immediately presents here, just glancing at the four cards and knowing Tarot Verbatim™. That is the story.

Making Queen of Pentacles not a person (woman with the ability, woman who manages money, etc.) but reducing it to simply having the ability, you get questions about poverty, misery, feeling inadequate … and recovering from them

Judgment Changes usher in a new phase or new life, or a resurrection of a past phase or life. This concept is illustrated by the Christian concept of Judgment Day, when the dead come to life, resurrection, at the moment an angel blows a trumpet. Recovery is a frequent word for this Rider Waite Tarot card in Tarot Verbatim.

Five of Pentacles Dark Night of the Soul is a Roman Catholic concept about a phase in spiritual development that is, yes, miserable. In practical application, this card is about being stuck after hitting bottom – is about not seeing the light and not seeing the opportunity to escape because you are numb from deprivation. That is the meaning we use today.

Queen of Pentacles delivers support. Usually she represents the wife who backs her man’s best interest, takes care and nurtures her family. She stands for having the talent or ability – especially of handling money and keeping a business up. She represents your personal resources, your cache of talents and abilities that you can access. The illustration shows fertility (the bunny, the vegetation).

.

Page of Cups Weird things that don’t make sense are very real-world. This Rider Waite Tarot card in Tarot Verbatimputs the text into question form or asks a question or casts doubt, and it stands for feeling silly or inadequate. It is one of what I call the ‘duh gear’ cards.

I N S T R U C T I O N S  &  Explanations  (Comments are below this.)

Did you come here just for your predictions? – If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.

Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .

Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)

Horoscopes are group readings too.

Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)

Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.

Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute.  Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.

The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing. This tells the thinking regarding the combined four pictures in the Daily Spread –  the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the message.

*Go to Learn Tarot by the Pictures.  This is the meaning of each separate card.  This is how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in this Spread.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Tarot without trying. The Tarot Talks tab has some examples for students.
