Six of Swords – Justice – Hanged Man

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

Justice is right. Justice is straight. Justice is sane. Justice is normal. And Justice is enforced.
Hanged Man is an intuitive antenna. Receptive. Hanged Man senses the air currents and sees telltale patterns that escape rational perception – patterns that foreshadow the future. This is you when you orient to subconscious realities and ‘just knew that was true’ or ‘just know that’s going to happen.’ This is you when you are thinking with your spiritual side.
So we have the rational and we have the inspired notions. Bridging the gulf between them is Six of Swords, who is going from one to the other … going to the better place. That is its main meaning.
Our spread today is about the actual process of your spiritual journey – is specifically about the first few steps and stages. The stepping-stone to the first day of the rest of your (spiritual and eternal) life.
You should know that Rider Waite Tarot is the bridge between your rational and your intuitive thought – bridge that carries perception-traffic between your ordinary mindset and your subconscious data bank. Why? Why is Rider Waite Tarot the Rosetta Stone between worlds? Because language is the filing system of your normal mentality, and image or pictures is the filing system for at least part of your non-physical mind. And because Rider Waite Tarot uses images of everyday real-life scenes you recognize in your real-world mind to translate what your subconscious mind has to say … what your subconscious mind has to say about whatever you are presenting as the Question. The translation is word-for-word – verbatim – and it uses the language you used in your question. THAT is why an exact question is important in Tarot Verbatim.
Now re-read that paragraph and note how often it says ‘you’ and ‘your.’ This isn’t about generalities: This is what works for you, here, now.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE

Six of Swords A mother and child escape whatever is behind, escape with nothing but what they wear, paddled away from there by a (traditionally) kind friend whose boat it is. It is dusk or twilight: times of change.
We have a special emphasis on Six of Swords today: It is crossing the water; and the water is consciousness. Six of Swords’ core meaning is: going from one thing to another, and it is going to the better place from the lesser. Today that is departing the rational logical literal and physical mindset to the openminded perception associated with subconscious mentality, and associated with spiritual realities.

Justice Have you noticed that in Rider Waite, bright red clothing is associated with spirituality and goodness, good behavior? Justice is one of those guys: Its robe is red; it sits bolt upright. It holds a broadsword flat side toward us: enforcement!
Justice frequently translates ‘should’ and ‘ought’ as Hierophant does. Justice embraces the whole legal industry and all the people involved in the justice and legal system – top to bottom. Of course it also means the law itself. Furthermore, Justice is straight, sane, right, correct, normal, sober, deserve and entitled.

Hanged Man This illustration doesn’t reveal much of Hanged Man’s function or meaning. Many myths have the protagonist (hero or subject of the story) hanging himself on a tree and sacrificing a body part for ‘wisdom.’ The wisdom referred to is actually spiritual power. Hanged Man is about that acquisition of high-level insight.
You see the energy halo around his head. The first phase of spiritual power is heady; you feel input into your mind and psyche that you cannot access some of yet. Your brain is afire, just like the picture. You are disoriented to your usual reality … feeling upside down, just like the picture.
Hanged Man represents awareness and understanding that is beyond the normal. It embraces all the extrasensory perceptions: psychic insight, visions, deja vu and eureka, gut feelings, instinctual impulses – any altered state of consciousness, even a brainstorm, that is useful.
Hanged Man is about perception and feeling. It isn’t about divine or infernal activity; isn’t about channeling spirits. It is about understanding … ‘getting it’ … waking up.
.
.
.
.
Comes a time you, in your very own perspective, receive enlightenment and inspiration in real time from ‘out there.’ You stand right now at the intersection of your daily ordinary mindset and eternal reality. You are getting it … getting your share and your version of otherworldly existence, otherworldly abilities, otherworldly powers.

HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

Justice – Hanged Man – Hermit
.
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
.
…………
……….
…………
………… Justice and Hermit have a lot in common. They both mean ‘the facts,’ for instance; they both mean being straight and sober. Justice is being sane and balanced; Hermit is being sober and being ‘on the path,’ seeking in a practical way (service monk); Hanged Man is the vision, the realization, the inspired idea. So we have two cards about sober factual perspective, and one visionary or even psychic card. Sober spirituality.
Hanged Man and Hermit are spiritual cards, and both mean ‘to know’ in different ways. Justice means ‘right’ and ‘should.’ So we have two spiritual-knowledge cards and one that means ordinary consciousness. Practical spirituality.
………………
…………. Justice obviously covers the waterfront when it comes to the court system, police, judges and lawyers, and anything that smells like court proceedings – all those mediators, boards, regulators, dogcatchers and facilitators, etc. Justice means right, correct, sober, sane, normal, realistic, balanced, should and ought, straight, fair and fairness. Hermit shares most of these meanings, outside of the court ones.
………………
………….. Hanged Man is all about realization, new ideas, new consciousness, new perspective, and it also is about brainstorms and mind-boggles of any type. You know that feeling you get when something clicks and you realize what’s what – the ‘lipstick on the collar’ moment? That flash that tells you you were wrong all along, dead wrong, and people thought it was funny? – yeah, that kind of thing. You feel ‘upside-down with your head on fire’ like the picture here. Psychism and visions belong to this picture too – ideas from ‘out there’ that find their ways into your head.
………………

You feel ‘upside-down with your head on fire’ like the picture here. Psychism and visions belong to this picture too – ideas from ‘out there’ that find their ways into your head.
……….
…………..
Justice and Hanged Man Justice and Hanged Man say your hunch is right, your vision is correct. Close to that is ‘a realistic cosmic view.’ You are getting inspired, Hanged Man, to make something right, Justice. Just knowing (Hanged Man) the way things ought to be (Justice). I feel (Hanged Man) I’m right (Justice). I know (Hanged Man) fairness (Justice). I get the feeling (Hanged Man) I’m sane (Justice). An intense feeling (Hanged Man) of entitlement (Justice as ‘rights’).x
..
……….
………….
Justice and Hermit Justice and Hermit describe very grounded spirituality, sane spirituality you could say. Since Hermit can be a healer, they can say the doctor is correct (Justice means correct). With Hermit being the doctor, and Justice being normal, ‘The doctor says you’re normal.’ (In real life, you would take a second look to see which your spread was saying, if the two views were incompatible.) They also say ‘factually correct’ because Hermit is the facts, and Justice of course means correct. We also have ‘Sober as a judge,’ with Justice being a judge, and Hermit is sober. We also have the poetic ‘Where the facts meet the truth,’ which could go either way since both cards mean both things, but Hermit is more truth, and Justice is more facts, when you put them together. Being of service to others (Hermit as the service monk) is the right way (Justice). Hermit is seeking and Justice is sanity, so here you have ‘Seeking my sanity.’ Finally, ‘Observe (Hermit) this feeling of entitlement (Justice).’ x
..
………..
……………
Hanged Man and Hermit Hanged Man and Hermit are both spiritual cards. Hanged Man is a vision, enlightenment, receiving paranormal information, ‘getting it,’ hunches and eureka and deja vu, instinct and vibes and premonitions, the ‘click’ kind of realization … ‘So THAT’S it.’ Hermit is the mature, scholarly, wise, devoted, humble and helpful friend and guide. Put these two together and you have grounded paranormal perspectives and experiences. Both these cards mean ‘true/truth’ and ‘factual,’ so the phrase ‘factual truth’ can be interpreted either way, interchangeably, with them. They both mean BOTH ‘know’ and ‘see’ in any of these verbs’ forms. AND they both mean sober. So when you have them together in a spread, a lot of your phrases are interchangeable. Hermit, as a monk, is associated with religion, which is irrelevant in today’s spread.
Since Hermit means ‘seek,’ Hanged Man and Hermit say ‘seek enlightenment.’ They say ‘vision quest’ because Hanged Man is vision, and Hermit is seeking. Hermit is wisdom, so they can say ‘Wisdom from my vision quest,’ re-using Hermit as both ‘wisdom’ and ‘quest.’ Hanged Man is a psychic impression or experience; Hermit means factual, so your psychic impression is factual. When you had the vision, Hanged Man, you were sober, Hermit.
You are inspired to help: Hanged Man is inspired and Hermit helps. You know you’re on track too: Hanged Man’s ‘feeling in the gut’ kind of know, and Hermit being on the path and being wise as well.
Hermit is the doctor or healer, and Hanged Man’s head is afire, so ‘The doctor says it’s just in your head.’ Hermit observes; Hanged Man is an intense feeling or instinct, so ‘Observe how intense this feeling is. x
..
It’s hard enough to know what’s real in the real world where at least there are facts you can check and things you can observe. When you venture into nonphysical realms, even just the ones that are merely theory … well, you are in a dark hallway feeling your way. Some people have spirit guides, some people have religion, and some of us keep feeling our way until we get ahold of something useful in the dark.

Justice …….. They say you can’t define pornography but you know it when you see it … and not everyone has the same view. Justice is just like that. It’s not fair, people say, but they don’t say that when the unfair situation is advantageous to them. Justice often translates should or ought, sane and sober, right and straight, entitled and rights, normal and balanced. It relates to any kind of court, any proceedings of regulatory boards, police and lawyers and judges and mediators and facilitators. Law enforcement is expressed by the combination of the sword and the scales of justice in the illustration.
.

Hanged Man …………. Hanged Man is upside-down with his brain afire, which depicts how you feel when some intense realization rearranges your reality in an instant. The illustration really arises from many myths of the main-character god or hero being hung on a tree, often for three days, in order to acquire, usually, wisdom. Odin, the head God of Norse myth, is one of them. Hanged Man’s main word is ‘realize.’ He also owns: enlightenment, inspired or inspiration, instinct, intense feeling, being attuned, receiving psychic or paranormal influences or experiences, vision, has radar, get an urge, ‘get it’ or ‘click,’ perspective, different light, vibes, and even ‘know.’
Hermit …………. Hermit is the monk who goes out at night to help people on the road. A warm bed and hot meal are at the monastery for them. So Hermit is seeking and he is on the path, and he is associated with spirituality. He is also helpful, kind, patient, wise, humble, sincere, devoted and supportive. His celibacy translates to being monogamous in your ordinary-world spreads. Often, this Tarot Verbatim™ card indicates the person comes to (you), or takes the initiative to contact. It is also about any kind of search, ‘looking for’ anything or ‘looking out for’ anyone or anything. He is religious, obviously, and can stand for a priest or monk or other religious servant-leader. Since he is out looking and watching, Hermit can be about surveillance – not today, of course.

Guidance Growing up or waking up in an insane environment (your family, the world) is like being the sober one at the shindig: Now you know in your gut what sensible is. Now you know we are all somewhat guilty of the same troubles and could benefit from straightening ourselves out some. That is a balanced view of the unbalanced situation around all of us. You could call it mature, but ‘mature’ is a four-letter word in these juvenile times. (And yes, we get the urge to set those heathens straight too, don’t we? – or we can party with them, full- or part- time.)

Justice………. . In Justice, we have sanity, a balanced sober view, things as they should be, being set straight, and the facts or factual perspective. Phrases with ‘should’ and ‘ought to’ belong to Justice. Anything to do with law, lawyers, judges, legal hearings or processes, as well as mere regulatory actions and people, belong to Justice. The scales bring phrases about balance, too.
.

Hanged Man …………. Perspectives of all types, intuition, realization, recognizing, eureka and deja vu experiences, as well as just knowing, belong to Hanged Man. He is also about intense feelings, urges, inspirations of the muse, alternate states of consciousness of any kind, instinctive feelings and knowings, paranormal sensing of any kind. He is about ‘got a feeling.’ Suddenly realizing belong to Hanged Man.
.

Ten of Pentacles………. Only in Tarot Verbatim™ is Ten of Pentacles as negative as it is. Since this system reflects the illustration, and since Ten of Pentacles clearly depicts a multi-generational family or clan quarrel, it is about people who are, or who have, trouble with other people. It reflects both the ghetto and the elite cultures. Grandpa sitting on his throne brings in tyranny and messed-up cultures. The family and clan motif brings in mafia and political abuses. It’s a dysfunctional relationship or the pesky neighbors.

Four Card Spreads, Tarot Verbatim
Advice This spread is clearly about New Year’s. It even has two cards that mean ‘New Year’s resolution’ and that is what it is talking about: The intention to do right, to set things straight, to make amends.” (He) gets the straight picture of things the way they used to be, and has to go back there.” And just as in real life, no action is mentioned, it’s all sentiment and emotion. Justice

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:
*Go to Advice (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)
*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Reading below. One or more of those sentences has something to say to you. Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)
Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!
GROUP ANALYTICAL TAROT READING Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. Go Back and Make it Right (Judgment + Justice) You are thinking again of making things the way they ought to be. A strong feeling I have to go back and make it right. Get the picture of things the way they used to be straight, and go back there. (He) gets the straight picture of things the way they used to be, and has to go back there. Laws change (Judgment + Justice) You realize again what rule must change. The idea that law has to change. You have to realize the laws have changed. Realize What’s Correct (Hanged Man + Justice) Realizes what was said has to be correct. When you realize something the second time, it has to be right. The thought strikes (him) that you said it right. I have to correct that now that I remember what (I) said. A whole new realization that’s got to be correct. Has to realize it when he returns to sanity. Miscellaneous An announcement in a vision that justice must be done. Thinking again that I have to go back where I belong. Realize this next time it’s got to be right. Realizes initiating a lawsuit is top priority. (He) feels entitled to make (anyone) realize (he’s) right. Strongly feel I have to be right this next time. Thinking up a new way to make them do right. When police say that, you just know there’s brutality. Saying that forces (him) to think straight. That’s right, you have to change your mind. New Year’s Resolution (Ace of Wands + Judgment) The new phase (New Year) coming up forces us to think of straightening out. Intensely emotional about (his) resolution for the New Year to get something as it should be. Justice Ace of Wands – Hanged Man – Judgment

Justice Ace of Wands – Hanged Man – Judgment MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING Both Hanged Man and Judgment refer to a sudden realization. Both Judgment and Justice refer to law and legal processes. Justice means police, and Judgment is the court system. Ace of Wands can be enforcement and Justice is law, so they can get together as law enforcement. But Ace of Wands is: forces, has to, makes him, got to, etc. most of the time. It is ‘brutality’ as well. And yes, it can be a resolution along with Judgment referring to New Year’s. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: LEARN TAROT BY THE PICTURES Ace of Wands A hand with a big stick obviously means enforcement, force, have to, must, gotta and so on. It means ‘resolution’ too here. Hanged Man (If he keeps showing up like this, we will charge him rent.) His phrases are thinking, strong feeling, get the picture, realize and realization (90% of the time), the idea, the thought strikes, now that I remember, in a vision, thinking up, you know, your mind, intensely emotional … for today. The illustration sticks in your mind and enacts for you how you feel when all of a sudden you realize you knew that all along yet it’s reinterpreting your reality without letup as you stand helplessly by. Judgment A new phase, a sudden change, a big noise, a public statement, to return to a former place or state or whatever. Those meanings dovetail nicely with the concept of New Year’s, especially with the angel’s trumpet blaring out to raise the dead. Justice The law says you should, you ought to, you are entitled to, and those are common phrases for this card. Police as well as courts, with the scales of justice and the sword of enforcement. Right, correct, straight, straighten out, sane and sober: All of these belong to Justice. All the material on this blog is copyrighted. Four Card Spreads, Our Daily Spread
Advice says the human condition is about family and kids who are a problem or who have problems with the family … or both. When you love one another, you know things are the way they ought to be even when there are problems caused by outsiders or family. He/She thinks “I am entitled to have other people support me and/or give me things.” The kids are very aware of the family’s problems, so they are going straight.

JUSTICE
SIX OF CUPS – TEN OF PENTACLES – HANGED MAN
MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD
First thing you notice here is the first two Rider Waite Tarot citizens. Six of Cups is children of the family, and it’s the sweet life, the good children. Next is the Ten of Pentacles family and its problems, including problems with the neighbors, the clan, the extended family, outside influences in general. This is the theme: children and family.
The general and intense awareness of Hanged Man is next. Realization, recognition, acknowledgment. And we close with Justice, the way things are supposed to be or ‘should’ or ‘deserve’ or ‘entitlement.’
Six of Cups and Justice is about deserving or being entitled to being taken care of, entitled to support. It also, literally interpreted, means ‘child support.’ In the same breath, Ten of Pentacles and Justice together mean ‘family court’ (a/k/a ‘juvenile court’) and ‘the extended family that feels entitled.’
MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS
Six of Cups shows Little Boy giving Little Girl flowers. It evokes childhood, the sweet life, being taken care of, being a good child, receiving … as in receiving love, gifts, etc. “I deserve to be loved and taken care of” is what it says.
Ten of Pentacles says if you are a human, you are a member of a human family and you are involved in its problems. Trouble with other people is the human condition. The clan, the tribe, the family, the community, even the nation, are complicating your life. The illustration is sooo on point: Grandpa sits on his throne, the family dogs submitting to his august authority. Husband stares into space as Wife earnestly addresses him and Kid pulls on her clothes, squalling. Oh yeah, family problems. Few of us humans escape this scene.
Hanged Man pictures acute awareness, flashback, intense feeling, realizing, knowingness, recognizing, acknowledging, extrasensory perception, mindreading, sensing, perceiving … whether conscious or unconscious or the bridge between the two. Its illustration is not transparent. The upside-down person represents the feeling you get when your subconscious drops a realization into your real-life experience that is instantly recognizable as the truth. As in “Oh-comma-shit, he/she is fooling around on me.” As in “The government is not what it represents itself to be … duh.” As in “OH NO, they are going to fire me.”
Justice where the title says it all. One of the obvious meanings, yes? The scales of justice in one hand and the sword of enforcement in the other. What is deserved, what ___ is entitled to. What is right. Court, cops, police, lawyers … the justice industry.

DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS (Tell visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.) Relationship Perspective This relationship has to be done right, he realizes: he must do his part fair and square. [Apply he/she/you.] Is very aware this relationship has got to be made legal. This is the right relationship, and (you) know (you) have to be in it. A relationship this intense, you have to do right by. Force the judge to see the things the party has been dealing with. Business Perspective You know you have to do this deal right. Have to deal with the right parties, get the idea across to them. Must deal with the correct parties and have an understanding with them. To do business with them, you have to get their perspective right. Legal Perspective An understanding that the law is strictly enforced in this deal/contract. It’s necessary to be aware of the legalities in this business. Being forced to deal with the law and understand it. Commercial law is strictly interpreted. You have to realize all the parties’ rights. It dawns on (him) (he) has to settle the lawsuit. The meeting of lawyers feels very intensely threatening. Meeting with the judge means an ultimatum: He will ‘get it.’ Is forced to meet with the judge, to deal with his slant on the case. Know the judge is going to force a settlement. Law enforcement knows about the deal, and who is dealing. Judge knows there is a Writ of Mandamus in this case. Judge has the idea of forcing them to settle the case. ====================================================================

=========================================================== Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread Our first two Rider Waite Tarot cards are about things legal. Three of Pentacles in Tarot Verbatim Rider Waite system is about business, meeting, settlement, relationship, commerce, dealing or deal, the parties to (anything), doing (your) part, being fair and square. It is one of the legal proceeding Tarot cards in Rider Waite Verbatim Tarot. The Justice Rider Waite Tarot card is about a judge or prosecutor or attorney, about police or regulatory authority, is about fairness and being or doing right. The two cards especially share the concept of fairness and a court case or legal proceeding. The next citizen of the spread is Hanged Man (Hi, guy, you haven’t been around for a while, have you?) who depicts a eureka experience, and means anything like realize, intense feeling, intense knowledge, eureka experience, a thought striking, being aware of, or ‘getting it.’ Finally, Ace of Swords means ‘must’ or have to; enforcement, forced to, forcefully, an ultimatum. You can see ‘law enforcement’ is Justice + Ace of Swords. You can see a meeting of lawyers, or lawyers with a judge, is Three of Pentacles + Justice. Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards Three of Pentacles is about business, meeting, settlement, relationship, commerce, dealing or deal, the parties to (anything), doing (your) part, being fair and square. It is one of the legal proceeding group in Tarot Verbatim, referring to any type of court case and any type of meeting in a legal proceeding. The illustration shows a meeting of three people. You can count on this three-people-in-a-meeting, strangely enough. The illustration is about an architect settling up with his clients for his final (large) draw. These people have a meeting of minds as the architect demonstrates, with the blueprint, what has been done for the clients. Justice is about a judge or prosecutor or attorney, about police or regulatory authority, is about fairness and being or doing right. It is a court case of any type. The illustration shows a crowned red-robed man with an upraised sword in the right hand and the scales of justice in the left. ‘Nuf said. Hanged Man is a eureka experience, and means anything like realize, intense feeling, intense knowledge, eureka experience, a thought striking, being aware of, or ‘getting it.’ His illustration depicts the eureka or the psychic experience: feeling upside down with your hair on fire. Well, that could be the mental activity or even a halo. Ace of Swords means ‘must’ or have to; enforcement, forced to, forcefully, an ultimatum, command or order. ‘Mandamus’ is an order from a higher court to a lower court to do or not do something. The lower court judge has no choice but to obey the command. The hand with the sword in it obviously mean ya gotta. The crown on the top of the sword means a clean victory, a total win. Or, if you’re on the other side …

Sometimes things happen not quite the way there were supposed to, but happen OK.
The intuitive realization that things are going to be the way they should persists but hasn’t quite reached the eureka awareness stage yet. It keeps trying to burst into your head.
Realize the court action is proceeding but it is being kept a secret from you.
Haven’t quite let yourself realize things are in the process of straightening themselves out.
Keep suppressing an instinct that things are in the process of straightening out.
This is about “I feel for it but I can’t quite reach it.” About not quite realizing but knowing. About “knowing without knowing.”
