Our Daily Spread for December 17, 2011 Saturday©

Advice The contemplative person takes action.   Inspired insight occurs to the active person.   These two things create a balance.  Thought without action is as impotent as action without thought.  Activity on the spiritual plane depletes the physical body of energy but produces informed and inspired action.  Mental work depletes the body of energy too,  but produces the great inspired idea about what to do.  In the same way,  awareness you need money inspires you to activity!  Flashes of spiritual realization occur when you exhaust yourself.

Is this the first time you come here?  Well … what to do:

*Go to Advice above which is a summary of the Messages.  (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It  is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

GROUP ANALYTICAL TAROT READING Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.

Romantic Perspective

It strikes him he is not doing enough for the lady.

Knowing his lady needs money,  he realizes what he must do.

Realizing she is feeling left out,  he takes action.

His intuition is,  he does not have enough money to make it with this classy lady.

She has an aha moment that he is making himself miserable.

He gets it that,  when he does that,  it hurts her feelings deeply.

A eureka experience:  She knows why he is doing that,  and it sickens her.

She knows he does that because he sorely lacks insight.

He senses how tired she gets of him doing that.

He realizes she gets depressed about doing that herself.

Spiritual Perspective (High Priestess + Hanged Man)

An acute awareness on the spiritual plane numbs you to acting on the physical plane.

Psychic awareness on the spiritual plane leaves you too tired to get anything done.

When he does deep mental activity,  it drains him to exhaustion.

Flashes of spiritual realization when he exhausts himself.

Not Enough,  Need,  Lack,  Tired,  Depleted (Five of Pentacles)

Is aware what to do when she needs money.

Inkling he lacks the research to get this done.

Inspiration about what you don’t know enough about to make this happen.

Deja vu: When she does that she makes herself miserable.

Mental activity is mental energy at the expense of the body’s energy.

Realizes being sedentary makes you tired, and gets doing something.

Sitting tires you out and gives you the idea to go do something.

Magician

High Priestess –  Five of Pentacles –  Hanged Man

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

A convergence of High Priestess with Hanged Man –  spiritual and mental acute awareness,  spiritual insight, visionary wisdom.  A convergence of High Priestess and Magician –  the female principle and the male principle.  Trapped in between is Dark Night of the Soul,  exhaustion,  being drained.  (And of course Magician stands in as acting upon the awareness or insight.)  Whew!

But not to worry,  we found some romantic applications for these four too.

The feminine principle is receptivity,  knowing and knowingness,  wisdom and occult/spiritual expertise.  (Knowing without acting) The masculine principle is activity –  to do,  to make,  to bring down or bring about.  (Acting without knowing) Occult gospel is that these two principles get together and create an entity that connects to the next plane down,  and a whole nest of triangles represents …  I guess all that is.  Anyway,  that is what the whole feminine and masculine principle thing is,  and it’s the big underlying foundational assumption of occultism,  as far as I know.  (Someday I will read up more thoroughly on it.)

Anyway,  we have a message that is about knowing and awareness and insight all over the place,  even (of course) in the romantic messages because half the cards are that.

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

High Priestess The  ‘B’  and  ‘J’  pillars stand for justice and mercy that represent extremes in the Kaballah ideology from the Jewish tradition.  She knows all,  is wise,  and is not engaged in activity.  So she means  ‘she,’  a single woman or woman by herself.  She comes up as a lady or classy lady and as a sedentary woman or bookkeeper (the book in her lap).  She represents an expert or expertise,  research,  and also the spiritual plane itself.  Contemplative.  It’s embarrassing how often this Rider Waite Tarot card just means  ‘she.’

Five of Pentacles Numb with despair,  they say,  and this is it.  Homeless and so out-of-it that they pass unknowingly by a place (cathedral) that has shelter for them.   Dark Night of the Soul,  a stage of spiritual development that recurs.  The core idea is depletion,  doing without,  not having enough (being broke) as well as being sick,  feeling sick,  feeling self-pity.  Here are the phrases it produces today:

not enough

needs money

feeling left out

not enough money

Hanged Man The experience that,  yes,  you knew that.  Duh!  It produces that disoriented upside-down feeling.  Realize is the most common word for Hanged Man.  Here are some others from today’s messages:

It strikes him

Knowing/realizes

realizing

his intuition is,

aha moment

He gets it

eureka experience

insight

senses how

acute awareness

Magician takes initiative,  takes action,  makes it happen,  does.  He is the one who does (it).  Action as opposed to contemplation.  The male way.  He is pictured in the act of making something happen,  the tools of the magician’s trade on the table there.  This card often means any form of the verbs  ‘do’  and  ‘make.’

Wheel of Fortune

Magician, High Priestess, Five of Pentacles

Advice suggests getting yourself into spiritual expertise so that you yourself can create the event that will take you from the bottom of despair and loss to your optimum circumstance, from dark night of the soul to grand opportunity. It’s clear that both deep knowing and action, in tandem, create the miraculous events that move you from the worst place to the best place. Note no one else, no group, is involved.

Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread

There’s a direct contrast to Magician and High Priestess, the male and the female principle from occult perspective: He is action; she is knowledge or thinking; he is active, she is passive.

There’s a direct contrast to Five of Pentacles and Wheel of Fortune, too: Five of Pentacles is losing it all and Wheel of Fortune is the windfall and the grand opportunity. This immediately suggests capitalizing on a loss, or hitting bottom to make it big.

Then, High Priestess with Wheel of Fortune is a miracle or beneficial happening from the spiritual plane.

Magician with High Priestess is making it happen on the spiritual plane.

Magician with Wheel of Fortune is the creation and bringing down or bringing about a beneficial event or miracle.

Magician, High Priestess, Wheel of Fortune is the creation of a miracle by acting on the spiritual plane to bring an event into happening.

Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards

Magician He does it, he pulls it off, he brings it about. He is the one, himself. It turns into ‘yourself,’ especially as a Self card, as in ‘Do it Myself/Yourself.’ This is strongly a male card, is the male principle. It means to initiate, to be the one to make the (first) move.

Illustration shows the magician with the tools of his trade depicted as the four suits of Tarot, wand raised to make his spell happen.

High Priestess is the lady, the female principle, is passive (therefore sitting) as opposed to the Magician who is standing (active) as the male principle. She is the expert, she knows all and is quiet about it … no seminars from High Priestess.

Five of Pentacles is having lost it all, being heartsick, sick, numb, beyond hope and in despair. It is dark night of the soul and hitting bottom. It is losing your home and being on the street, It is street bums. It is the financial bottom, the lowest price your stock went to. The Rider Waite illustration shows bums on the street having past the church with warmth and food in it unnoticed because they are bleary-eyed.

Wheel of Fortune is winning the lottery, hitting the jackpot, the windfall profit, the best that can happen, the optimum result, and karma. All sorts of occult creatures and symbols are on the Rider Waite version of Wheel of Fortune. In its center is what looks a whole lot like a roulette wheel.
