.
Nine of Cups – Here’s a fella who at least for the moment has it all, because he ate and drank it all. The default meaning of Nine of Cups is some form of ‘want,’ whether as a word or a phrase. Even when it simply translates ‘want,’ it’s understood the desire is satisfied because Nine of Cups means ‘your wish is granted’ more than any other card means whatever it means. Nine of Cups is referred to by Tarotists everywhere as ‘Your wish is granted.’ It’s that accepted!
.
Other things Nine of Cups commonly means echo this primary one: glad; satisfied or satisfying; dream life; happy; gratified; grateful.
.
Another application of Nine of Cups is wanting to please.
Four of Wands – Those people who live in the castle are having a wedding and we’re all invited because we’re community – we’re family too. That is what you see in the illustration: the public wedding of town celebrities, the power people having a ‘do.’
.
So Four of Wands is your card for marriage, a couple, spouse, wedding, town leaders, members of the group, the community. All the marriage cards also mean family and groups of people. Four of Wands means ‘everybody’ as well.
.
Belonging is what makes community, and Four of Wands is all about belonging. It means ‘one of the people who’ and ‘that kind of people’ or ‘my kind of people,’ and even represents people who have any particular thing in common … so ‘knitters of the cosmos, unite!’
.
All the marriage cards also refer to home, home life, houses, buildings, and people living in a particular place. Four of Wands emphasizes stable home life, established people, the Establishment and traditional values.
.
We don’t use the public meanings of Four of Wands today, but it refers to public buildings, and large groups of people like states, countries, organizations and global organizations.
Six of Cups – Their home, an estate or apartment building, is in the background as the warmly dressed boy gives a girl one of the potted flowers. The art of this card is warm and fuzzy style. There are no bad meanings to Six of Cups; other cards don’t aspect it negatively. It’s even limited to good children when it means children! The elements of this illustration are fertile, producing varied meanings. The main ones center on children, childhood, home, house, house you grew up in, the giving or receiving of a gift (both birthday and Valentine’s apply) and romance.
.
Today, along these lines, we have these words and phrases: young, child, good little boy/girl, childhood, kids, romance, love, childhood sweetheart, giving flowers, you get.
.
Six of Cups is the good old days; it refers to the past with nostalgia, meaning things like childhood sweetheart, the home your parents still live in, an old flame, rekindled love, nostalgia, and even home town.
.
Six of Cups refers to where a person lives (or lived), especially when it’s cozy, comfortable, quaint, old, or old-fashioned. It indicates a safe neighborhood, and a neighborhood good for children.
.
Another fairly common meaning that is easy to overlook for Six of Cups is trust. Trustworthiness, to trust, to be trusting, advice to trust.
.
We are not mentioning some specialized meanings that are rare, like siblings and bequeathing.

Four of Wands and Six of Cups both are about home life and a house in a good way. So they both are real estate cards. Four of Wands is marriage (a solid stable marriage unless another card diverts it away from that meaning), and a residence or other building. Four of Wands involves leaders of the community, so when it’s about a neighborhood, it’s over there where the well-off folks live. Four of Wands is also the public, so it can express a public building such as city hall or a court house.
.
Six of Cups is about a loving home life, a romance that either goes way back in the past or is returning from the past, and about children in the home, or the home you had as a child. It is a house too, and tends to be a cottage, a cozy house, an old house, a comfortable house, and tends to be in an old neighborhood and/or a safe neighborhood – a good neighborhood for children, of course. Six of Cups with Nine of Cups is wanting to have children or even a wanted child, as well as having had a very pleasing childhood.
.
Nine of Cups is the way you want things to be, and having exactly what satisfies you, makes you happy and comfortable. Uh, think of Nine of Cups combined with Six of Cups as your utopia because Six of Cups is utopia. When you add Four of Wands, the three cards actually say ‘ Everybody is getting everything they want.’

Guidance Our message overall today is that things can change – in either direction – from best to worst, or from worst to best – with ‘our people’ being a factor in the change, whether ‘our people’ is a marriage we are in, or a family group. We speak of wanting to change because we feel inferior, and wanting to change others when we feel dissatisfied with ourselves. This is more about our ability to be what we want to be than the influence of those other people.
Are YOU here for the first time? Come in! People love this place!
Guidance and the Tarot Readings are for you if you just want your daily look ahead. “Guidance” is the summary, followed by your word for word Tarot Readings from the four Rider Waite Tarot cards you see pictured here. Pick the sentences that you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them. Sentences contradict one another because negative cards, in this group reading with no question, can attach to any of the other three cards.

Knight of Swords – Five of Pentacles – Four of Wands

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
Well, we got ourselves a story or two today. There’s always action when you see Knight of Swords. He is about change, about suddenly, about coming back or doing something again, about pursuing (or fleeing, sometimes), and about being in a big hurry, speeding. He can mean a switch to the opposite (whatever).
So, what’s the action about? Well, we have both ‘having it all’ in Nine of Cups and ‘losing it all’ in Five of Pentacles. A total lack in one and a surplus or even surfeit in the other. And right there is Knight of Swords meaning a change to an opposite state. Since he can go either way, we could be talking about rags to riches, or riches to rags, either one – but more likely the happier state, because Nine of Cups is a powerful influence for good.
Nine of Cups often brings the word ‘wanting.’ So ‘wanting to be married’ is right there, with Four of Wands being marriage. So is ‘wanting to be miserable’ with Five of Pentacles being miserable. And wanting to get the heck out is Nine of Cups and Knight of Swords. Not only is Nine of Cups ‘wanting’ but it suggests that the wish is granted, because ‘wish is granted’ is the core meaning of Nine of Cups. It even means that in just about every other Tarot deck.
Now to Four of Wands. It has a few more meanings than marriage. It is the leading people of the town or group, and it means the sensible respectable people. It means a house. It means ‘everybody.’
Our message overall today is that things can change – in either direction – from best to worst, or from worst to best – with ‘our people’ being a factor in the change, whether ‘our people’ is a marriage we are in, or a family group. We speak of wanting to change because we feel inferior, and wanting to change others when we feel dissatisfied with ourselves.

Knight of Swords: Think of him as a catalyst. There’s always action when you see Knight of Swords. He is about change, about suddenly, about coming back or doing something again, about pursuing (or fleeing, sometimes), and about being in a big hurry, speeding. He can mean a switch to the opposite (whatever). You see a knight in full armor leaning over the neck of his speeding steed, sword outstretched.
Five of Pentacles A total lack, losing it all, numb with misery, Dark Night of the Soul, being or feeling drained of life and hope, being ‘out in the cold’ and emotionally deprived. Or feeling that way. Sometimes Five of Pentacles expresses that ‘poor me’ act, a martyred act, or the dark feeling of worthlessness clinical depression bequeaths. It can also simply mean ‘a lack of’ in other contexts. The illustration is a woman and child in rags, wounded and crippled, in freezing weather, not noticing that’s a church where they could stay and have a meal.
Four of Wands It has a few more meanings than marriage. It’s about your citizenship in your ‘herd.’ It is the influential people of the town or group, and it also means the sensible respectable people. It means a house. It means ‘everybody.’
Nine of Cups is being satisfied plus some; it is having enough and to spare; it is having too much wine for the night. It is about that safunsified feeling. It often translates ‘wants.’ Not only is Nine of Cups ‘wanting’ but it suggests that the wish is granted, because ‘wish is granted’ is the core meaning of Nine of Cups. It even means that in just about every other Tarot deck. Nine of Cups is often a powerful influence for good. He is welcome in our spread, especially as one of the Self cards.
I N S T R U C T I O N S & Explanations (Comments are below this.)
Did you come here just for your predictions?– If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.
Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ’all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)
Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Tarot without trying. The Tarot Talks tab has some examples for students.
