Tarot Readings for You for November 15, 2014 Saturday©

GUIDANCE    Would vacation be half as much fun if we hadn’t been through hell?, we ask. The pain was worth it when we graduate or have the baby. Some people have enjoyed a terrible childhood: Whether it’s fun or whether it hurts, it’s all perspective; it’s all in your head. Some of us can cheer up by wallowing in morbid songs. The difference between adventure and nightmare is perspective too. Things are seldom as bad as we dread they will be. And it feels so good when you quit beating yourself up. Welcome to the antique phrase ‘exquisite pain.’

.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined three pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these three cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONSis a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Page of Pentacles – Ten of Swords – Sun

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….…………………...     Page of Pentacles is how you think of it. Ten of Swords is definitely the dark side: failure and humiliation, suffering and terrible hells. Sun is relief from those restrictions, fun and enjoying, getting out from under and feeling frisky. Quite the stories we have here.

………………………..    Page of Pentacles is a person, a person’s identity: being something, being a type of person. It is thinking, considering, remembering, looking forward or looking back thoughtfully. He studies his pentacle, his gaze steady upon it.

………………………..    Ten of Swords is the kind of misery you can wallow in, feeling ever so sorry, even feeling martyred. Ten of Swords is down and out like a boxer after the ‘Ten.’ It is taking a heavy loss. It is being a victim, feeling like a victim, maybe lying down in pain for the very last time. But it can also (in certain Tarot company) be embarrassment.

………………………..     Sun is the relief you feel when you have ducked out on the restrictive atmosphere, when you are breaking the rules and thumbing your nose at the powers that be, when vacation has set you free from the grind, when it’s party time and your inhibitions are in the closet.

………..…………..   Page of Pentacles and Ten of Swords  Page of Pentacles and Ten of Swords is a person’s attitude toward some dismal experience, is your individual perspective on the downside of this moment … your bead on having failed. These two Tarot cards actually translate ‘Depressing thoughts’ and ‘Suffering soul.’ When you are Page of Pentacles and Ten of Swords, you are feeling the hurt, and watching out for (anyone, including yourself) being wounded. These two Tarot cards are contemplating failure. Page of Pentacles soberly assesses his chances of crashing.

…………………..   Page of Pentacles and SunPage of Pentacles and Sun is seeing your way out; is happy thoughts; is looking on the bright side or looking forward to a vacation. Page of Pentacles means ‘I,’ so these two say simply ‘I am happy.’ Sun is freedom or ‘free,’ so they also say ‘I am free.’

……………………    Ten of Swords and Sun  Ten of Swords and Sun is getting free of failure, and is even enjoying the suffering or the disaster – finding joy in the doom of it all, being free because of some disaster … being free of it all. Your house burns down, and you get to start life anew. Ten of Swords and Sun scream “The worst is OVER!” It describes enjoying the pain too. In different Tarot settings than today’s, Ten of Swords and Sun can be delighted someone bit the dust.

There’s a ‘so what’ attitude toward the worst that could happen here. You can hear Page of Pentacles’ thoughts going like ‘Yeah, that would be awful but it would clear up’ or ‘I know how I would look good if I failed.’ We consider mindfully enjoying the pain or humiliation here, too. That happens, even if we avert our intelligence away from it. Yes, the distinction between nightmare and adventure is perspective: Always remember that.

Page of Pentacles ……… Page of Pentacles looks at things, has a perspective, considers and feels and ponders. He is. This is an identify card. Put him next to the Emperor and he is a VIP. Put him next to Five of Pentacles, and he is nobody. He even stands for opinion and viewpoint. Page of Pentacles often translates ‘He’ or ‘think’ or ‘He thinks.’ You see him hold his pentacle before his face and study it deeply. Yes, he can be a student – I almost forgot.

.

Ten of Swords …………. Oh my, it’s all over and I utterly failed – ignominious demise. The worst of times, the downside, the hellhole. Personally, I think this is the worst card in Rider Waite. Whenever it appears, I look for a nearby card to invalidate it wreckage, or at least take the edge off of it. You see a fellow on the ground with ten knives in his back and a black sky. Betrayal is obviously one of its meanings … you know, ‘stabbed in the back.’

.

Sun ………. Sun is ‘School’s out’ and ‘Let’s party.’ Sun is relief and release and getting out from under whatever restricts you. You see the boy who sneaked out of the house and its rules to play, naked, on the wicked pony. Never mind that the pony is going to do the tyke in: That isn’t the point of this Rider Waite card in Tarot Verbatim™ – it just isn’t. However, ‘reckless’ and ‘heedless’ are two of its translates.

He knows he is the good guy and isn’t about to be embarrassed about that

Knight of Cups
Page of Pentacles, Four of Cups, Ten of Swords

Romantic perspective:
No way is he going to fail at being affectionate.
He won’t be a good boyfriend, that would be losing, to him.
He is devastated, will never offer his heart again.
You know this boyfriend isn’t going to hurt your feelings.
Not going to be hurt showing your affection.

He is not your boyfriend; he knows he failed.
He feels like a failure as a boyfriend but doesn’t want to be.
He thinks of himself as your guy and isn’t embarrassed about it.
When he puts his mind to being your boyfriend, he doesn’t let himself down.
He has made up his mind not to fail at being a softie, a troubadour, your sweet guy.

Other perspectives:
To be known as a nice guy and not finish last.
He refuses to help when there’s a disaster.
He would be humiliated not to be polite and friendly.
He is not himself, his feelings are hurt.
He knows he can’t be hurt so he accepts the offer.

He knows he lost and isn’t going to be nice about it.
He knows he is the good guy and isn’t about to be embarrassed about that.
Being a good and friendly guy, you can’t fail.
He thinks of himself as a good guy who doesn’t hurt others.
He presents an idea that cannot fail.

He knows he will fail and cannot accept that.
He knows that will fail, it is not going to be accepted.
If you don’t present it in an appetizing way, you will ruin things.
Make sure you have a pleasant personality, and you can’t fail.
Being a friendly, outgoing, polite person can’t hurt.

Don’t let your feelings be hurt when you know your behavior has been acceptable.
Don’t think of yourself as having failed, take the initiative and make your offer!
He puts his hand out first, and if they don’t accept, it’s their loss.
If you know how to sell, how to make a presentation, you ain’t gonna be a failure.
Don’t even think you will fail, take that initiative.
When you don’t hurt other people’s feelings, you are accepted as a friend.

First off, we have two men-cards that are about thinking and feeling. The Page of Pentacles is about one’s own identity, one’s image, to be aware or know, and to think or focus on something. He has a good reputation. The Knight of Cups is lover-boy, boyfriend, the nice polite acceptable diplomatic fellow who is the first to put his hand out in friendship. He takes initiative. He is about feeling. He cuddles. Are you looking for your guy to be sweet to you? – this is the Rider Waite Tarot card to pray to see, then. He is the guitar player, or even the violin.

In the middle of the spread are two cards that together mean ‘can’t fail.’ The Four of Cups means to refuse, no way, not now and not ever. The Ten of Swords, well, there he is again: to be ruined, to fail, to be down and out.

Advice: This backs up those spreads we had about ‘mind your image.’ Being a friendly person others accept means you won’t be a failure. The message also speaks of a motivated boyfriend.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Page of Pentacles: The Page of Pentacles is about one’s own identity, one’s image, to be aware or know, and to think or focus on something. He has a good reputation. He is pictured studying his pentacle intently.

Four of Cups: The Four of Cups means to refuse, no way, not now and not ever. The illustration shows a seated person refusing to entertain the fourth offered cup.

Ten of Swords: well, there he is again: to be ruined, to fail, to be down and out. Pretty graphic illustration of the idea, one would say?

Knight of Cups: The Knight of Cups is lover-boy, boyfriend, the nice polite acceptable diplomatic fellow who is the first to put his hand out in friendship. He takes initiative. He is about feeling. He cuddles. Are you looking for your guy to be sweet to you? – this is the Rider Waite Tarot card to pray to see, then. He is the guitar player, or even the violin. He is pictured in soft background tint and round outlines, with a sort of toy sweet little horse, his hand outstretched in friendship.

When you don’t care and just mind your own business, they try to get you to love them

Ace of Cups
Fool, Nine of Pentacles, Five of Wands

Romance Perspective:
He just loves her, that’s all, no matter how hard she tries to be independent.
She free to engage in a love life, she is single.
When she is in love, she goes ahead and gets intensely involved; it’s nobody’s business but her own.
She is free-spirited, lives alone, has a very active love life.
She doesn’t get involved in spats in her love life, she stays out of that.
When you don’t care and just mind your own business, they try to get you to love them.

They can all compete for her love, for all she cares.
A woman who has a life of her own can be oblivious to competition for love.
She is so beloved no one fights with her.
Be so loving and so involved in your own life that he doesn’t even think about resisting you.
You may as well be loving because she won’t fight with you.

Other Perspectives:
As a lady of leisure, she doesn’t even think about making an effort – it all comes easy.
A businesswoman who is so well-accepted she has no competition.
She lives life her way, don’t even think about fighting with her, just go along with her.
She is in her own world, she doesn’t care whether people are for it or against it.
She is neither for nor against anything, she is off by herself.

She is comfortable, never was one to struggle, just took it easy.
She isn’t one to struggle if it doesn’t come easy.
He tries so hard to get just any woman who has her own house to love him.
She makes an effort to be easygoing and cooperative.
What conflict? She assumes you agree but she is over there by herself anyway.

The Fool and the Ace of Cups go with the flow, everything’s just fine, there’s an assumption of cooperation, no effort is involved – very optimistic. The Five of Wands is the opposite of each of those: there’s resistance, a struggle and effort is involved, and people are fighting. In the midst of that is the lady who doesn’t care, minds her own business, is independent, owns her place, has it made and is comfortable in her circumstances and in her own skin. The Fool doesn’t care and is oblivious, and Ms. Nine of Pentacles shares that vibe.

Advice is to be independent, not really care whether they love you or not, and, by damn, they will love you. If you don’t fight with them, you aren’t there for the fight and so there isn’t one. Life is easy or easier if you don’t make it hard. “What conflict? – I assume you agree, but I’m out of it anyway.”

Today’s spreads’ advice also is to be the self you are comfortable being, and your constituency, your natural circle, will conform to your self-image and not conflict with it. Advice is to not accept conflicting input: You have your mind made up about how things are going to be copacetic around you and you refuse to encourage what conflicts with that picture. This forces other people to cooperate or leave. Of course, the self-image spoken of here is one of being dignified, friendly and cooperative with others, so they have reason to love you.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Fool: Free-spirited, easygoing, neither/nor, ‘just’ this or that, assuming an optimistic stance, being oblivious and not even thinking that, doesn’t care, just goes ahead and let’s it be. That’s the Fool. ‘Whatever.’ Illustration shows a happy mid-day walk off a cliff with your doggie, that’s all.

Nine of Pentacles: She is her own self. She has it made because she minds her own business and is comfortable in whatever her circumstances are. She owns her means of production and her home place, is likely to be a businesswoman. Illustration in Rider Waite Tarot is of a lady in a robe who is out in her heavily-bearing vineyard with her falcon, a snail next to her on the ground.

Five of Wands: Effort, try hard, struggle, conflict, resistance, fight. Illustration in the Rider Waite Tarot deck shows five guys going at each other with boards either competing in a rough game or whacking one another combatively.

Ace of Cups: Here’s the flow to go with. True love, cooperation, ease and easy. The flow illustrated here in the Rider Waite system is the five senses or five body fluids, and the idea is that the Holy Spirit creates an idyllic body state.
