It need not be an intentional one, though, but maybe just a gal’s affairs with one fellow after another wondering if this is the one who will be her husband, or a working man wondering how the system will take advantage of him next.

Seven of Pentacles and Two of Pentacles are uncertainties or unsettled situations (although Two of Pentacles not always). Then
Two of Cups and King of Wands join us at the table. Two of Cups is something going on behind your back and King of Wands is one of those edgy frustrated outspoken men, and is the passionate man, and is the husband. King of Wands is hands-on at work and in his love life.
Put them all together, and you have something going on behind someone’s back, and a lot of suspicion, nosiness, questions. The main story this makes is an edgy outspoken husband suspects his partner is cheating, and is rocking the boat.
Two of Cups and King of Wands These two make the soap opera. Two of Cups can do that single-handedly. Two of Cups brings soap opera to you through the back door. That winged lion’s head over twined snakes is called a caduceus. It’s an ancient symbol for magic that shows spirits overshadowing human affairs. It appears in the Old Testament when Moses put it on a pole for people to look on (and survive) who were bitten by snakes that converged upon people. (Moses grew up as a noble in Egypt, you know.) The interference can be beneficial (Sometimes you have to be sneaky doing a good deed without getting punished for it.) but usually is more on the harmful side.
And now, the Lowdown on Two of Cups!
Two of Cups is not just another love card, at least in Tarot Verbatim™. It describes having the hots for someone, lust, seduction, sexual cheating or a love triangle, jealousy, back-alley romance, stalking, a partner who isn’t declaring he/she is married or unavailable to you (like, say, you don’t fit into Lover’s social life for whatever reason). It describes having a use for someone, like wanting you for your money or connections.
The main application of Two of Cups is interference. Here are some ‘for instances’ of that: Interference in a situation or exchange or transaction by an undeclared party (or by an unknown factor or an indirect effect, say a side effect of medicine). In social and business applications, Two of Cups describes a con artist’s undeclared motives, wire-tapping or snooping, a silent partner in a contract or deal, a kickback to a politician, multilevel marketing where someone gets a cut off the top. Something, in other words, is going on behind someone’s back that has a direct effect on his/her life.
See how all those things have something in common? Tarot brings that out, doesn’t it?
As I was saying before I launched the tell-all about Two of Cups, Two of Cups and King of Wands make the soap opera. King of Wands describes an energetic excitable hands-on activist, often a workingman or ‘man in the street.’ He is labor or the common citizen in political questions. Often, he is about having a temper, being outburst-prone, even irritable or angry or cranky. King of Wands can even be a low-class ill-tempered lout or redneck. He reflects being frustrated at his condition in the same way Queen of Swords is.
King of Wands also means husband, and also means passionate man next to any kind of love card that would bring that side of the King out. Two of Cups also makes ‘jealous husband.’
Can you see now how Two of Cups and King of Wands are a bad combination, in different ways?
Seven of Pentacles and Two of Pentacles are, as I said, uncertainties or unsettled situations (although Two of Pentacles not always). Seven of Pentacles is to wonder, to ponder, to be uncertain about a particular thing, to have a question about the outcome of what you are engaged in … to be doubtful. The grower ponders whether the work on the cucumber plants will produce cucumbers. We see him wistfully leaning on his shovel with a question written on his face. Yes, this is one of the cards that tells you the sentence it appears in may be in question form.
Two of Pentacles is uncertainty too – one of its categories of meanings. The juggler moving the plates has ships tossing ridiculously in a sea behind him, and he wears a getup with his dunce cap. ‘Wobbly,’ as the British say. We are not using its other meanings right now, but it means ‘ongoing’ and ‘process of’ and many kinds of motion.
King of Wands and Two of Pentacles King of Wands is on edge, has a temper, and Two of Pentacles is about an ongoing and/or unstable situation. Together, here’s a man who is easily set off in a situation where it could go either way.
Two of Cups and Two of Pentacles describes an ongoing situation in which someone is being taken advantage of, betrayed, or being cheated or used. It describes an unstable jealous or nosy person too.

Seven of Pentacles wonders and ponders, is curious and uncertain. It asks questions and puts the language into question form. We see a wistful grower leaning on his shovel wondering whether he is going to get cucumbers from his vines because it’s one of those plants that need to be within a distance from a plant of the opposite gender.
Two of Cups refers to interference by an undeclared party to a transaction or situation, like a love triangle, a silent partner, or a kickback to a politician, like being conned, cheated, taken advantage of or lied to. It can be a conspiracy or a backdoor way to get something done. The illustration shows a couple ‘pledging their troth,’ which means formal engagement in the days marriage really was until death do you part, and one or both of them has a hidden agenda, evidenced by the caduceus, that funky intertwined snakes under the winged lion head that the medical profession adopted to let us know they have agendas that affect us.
King of Wands Husband and/or an angry, irritated, frustrated man. It also denotes a workingman, a common citizen, even a low-class ill-tempered lout or redneck. He is pictured a redhead with a salamander (a symbol for ‘fiery’ in symbol-land) next to him. He grips his board in one hand and has the beginning of a fist in the other while he glares to his right.
Two of Pentacles is one thing after another, ongoing or ‘keeps ___ing,’ as in ‘keeps moving.’ Two of Pentacles says it could go either way, there are ups and downs, routines. It describes an unstable person or situation, silly goings-on. Then you have ’round and ’round,’ stirring up, weaving, wobbly, rocking – movements. Ships tossing in the background mean upheavals and ups-and-downs, of course. They are where you sometimes find Two of Pentacles referring to queasiness, nausea, seasickness.
