Tarot Readings for You for July 29, 2015 Wednesday©
GUIDANCE Having a plan tends to improve where you’re headed. Planning while you’re still underway, as you go along, stabilizes and modifies your direction. Exit plans are a good thing – like trailing stop orders on your investments, you know? When the scenery changes, the overview isn’t the same anymore.
[A sell trailing stop order sets the stop price at a fixed amount below the market price with an attached “trailing” amount. As the market price rises, the stop price rises by the trail amount, but if the stock price falls, the stop loss price doesn’t change, and a market order is submitted when the stop price is hit.]

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES
.………..………. .……..…….. Here is a study in the peskiness of Death. In Tarot Verbatim, Death is the pluperfect negator – the main negative modifier. Tarot Verbatim is language-based, so a double negative (in the English language anyway) makes a positive. This fact makes Death a sometimes-rescue-card. (Rescue cards are ones that undo or at least lessen the harm other cards are speaking of. They modify the other cards, like an adjective or adverb modifies a noun or verb.)
Let’s make it clear by a simple example: Put Death next to, say Ten of Swords or Tower, which mean disaster, and you have ‘No disaster.’ So why is Death such a pest? – well, it makes for conflicting, contradictory statements. Today’s spread is an excellent study in that process – for those of you who come here to learn Tarot Verbatim. In real Tarot life, the question itself, and the established knowns from the rest of the spread, tell you which card Death is affecting. Those factors do not exist here, so here the contradictions and conflicts flash out.
Two of Wands and Six of Swords each refer to the future, to good times, to whatever is ahead, and specifically to good times ahead – but from very different perspectives. Two of Wands is any kind of stability, even the soundness of any physical object or building. Its focus is on financial stability, a stable outlook, a ‘solid citizen’ as far as both respectability and money go. Two of Wands is stability emotionally, socially, mentally, etc. It is also a plan, banking and mortgage and real estate, and an overview of anything. Two of Wands is ‘projected.’
Six of Swords, on the other hand, is good times ahead compared to the bad times behind. It means ‘hamburger tomorrow,’ not right now. It’s focus is on the journey, the direction, the change, and it is an emotional card. Six of Swords is recovering, getting over it, the departed, a journey, and a journey in consciousness. It has not arrived; it is still on the way.
Six of Swords and Death bring up headed for death, getting over a death, and avoiding a death – because Six of Swords is headed somewhere (better), is recovering or getting over (something) and is avoiding, delaying, or procrastinating.
Six of Swords and Death both contain negative elements. Death is that element, and Six of Swords says ‘not anymore, doesn’t anymore, isn’t there anymore. Six of Swords can say ‘until it’s over,’ and such thoughts, and Death too is about ‘it’s over.’ But the presence of Death can put the negative to all those negative statements. THAT is what we mean about ‘pesky Death.’

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE.
Two of Wands……. Two of Wands has main divisions to its dictionary. It means the future. Half the time, this card just translates ‘will’ or ‘will be,’ or other such ‘ahead’ phrases. It makes other cards future tense. It means stability, ‘solid.’ It means an upstanding citizen (stable), and emotional stability, mental stability, even the stability of a foundation, or the soundness of a building or other physical object. And it is about money: financial security, investment, good prospects, budget, banking and loans, especially real estate loans, the mortgage broker or the banker. It also means a plan or to plan or the plan, and financial plan or planning. It also refers to an overview, to things long term, and even to foresight. Two of Wands is a reassuring card; it means things are all right, and are going to stay all right: stability, security, a sure thing, etc.
You see the well-dressed fellow who owns the world (the town) looking at his holdings (the town) and planning how to profit from them. He is a property owner and a property manager. He is an investor.
Six of Swords …….. A mother and child escape whatever is behind, escape with nothing but what they wear, paddled away from it by a (traditionally) kind friend whose boat it is. It is dusk or twilight: times of change. Yes, this is the card for avoiding something. Six of Swords is a moody card, both blue and hopeful. It is a symphony of notes on leaving and going. It expresses both defeat and progress (slow progress, which Ten of Wands is the lead card for.) It is often an aftermath, recovery (even rehab), and getting over divorce, death, addiction or other setback, or getting over an emotionally devastating loss, and putting any of those behind.
Six of Swords can emphasize either the leaving, or the heading on out, or both. So it means both ‘from now on’ and ‘not anymore.’ Usually, the distinction is usually made for you, even by the question itself. Six of Swords is one of the main ‘leaving’ cards.
Six of Swords is getting on with life, going forward – is leaving one location for another with better prospects – often, a job change. It is cutting your losses and running; it is water under the bridge; it is slipping away. It is a past life. It is also a waning influence, a widening gulf, and ‘used to’ or ‘used to be.’ This card shows up for the shift in a person’s life a death or a divorce causes – or any devastating loss.
The boat can be literal, even a cruise. Traveling over water can be literal, and this is the card for going overseas: Watch for that!
Six of Swords often speaks of direction – drifting into and drifting away from, avoiding. It is moving on out, and it is moving on up – travel physically, travel both short trips and extensive ones, spiritual journeys, emotional trips, out-of-body travels. It is becoming another person and putting ‘my past life’ into the mists of time. ‘I’m not the man I used to be,’ says a sad song. Six of Swords can be about painful process, such as giving up a set of beliefs and moving forward into a flexible unknown.
This is the lead card for recovering, and that very much includes medical issues. Getting over anything, especially serious ailments. I don’t have (fill in the blank) anymore; I’m not (fill in the blank) anymore.
Death……Here he comes, the executioner of neighboring cards’ influences. He adds ‘NOT’ to their statements. Death is The Great Negator; he is Mr. Minus. I think of Death, in shorthand, as no-never-not and as end zone. Death is a support card for death; another card usually introduces the subject, as Six of Swords today does. By negating one or the other of its neighboring cards, Death (as we discussed here previously) creates contradictory statements. Once in a while it simply says ‘in the end.’ Death sometimes adds the word ‘death’ to a sentence. When it does, that doesn’t have to refer to the death of a living being. But it can.
F.Y.I., the lead card for the subject of death in Tarot Verbatim™ is Eight of Swords. (I don’t make these up; I observe and report, to make the Tarot Verbatim™ system.)
Now, with that illustration of the dead king lying on the ground and the bishop taking possession of the crown, with which the Roman Catholic Church will crown another king, Death should mean regime change, and Death should mean the end of one phase and the beginning of another. It doesn’t – at least not in my work, and I watch for that.

.
Poor times are over, and I am doing well. As I put an end to something, I look ahead to a stable life precisely because I got over that. Kind of in limbo here: The worst is over and the best is yet to come. I am not there any longer because there was no future there for me. My escape plan is what got me out in the end. I had a ticket to ride the future.
