Tarot Readings for You for May 25-26, 2017 Thursday-Friday©

GUIDANCE     Look back and you may find that leaving some place was the best thing you ever did for yourself. Quite often not much (if anything) was wrong with the place; it was just that another fate beckoned to you from out there somewhere. ‘Out there’ can be a destination before you know where it is. Your gut tells you to head on out, but your head has not found ‘where’ on a map yet. Drifting, for some people, has been one of their most rewarding times.

.

Six of Swords Leaving like refugees with ‘just the clothes on their back,’ they at least have the help of a friend who provides transport – the boat. When a person leaves a place or situation dead broke, it is a turning point in his or her (or their) life. In transit out of one place and toward another, there is a triple focus: on the transit, the journey; on the experience you are escaping; on the better life you are heading for. Six of Swords is a very moody card – both despair and hope live there – because of the turning point.

.

Six of Swords indicates a situation is improving, unless the other cards are a booger. Its presence is usually a hint to interpret the story you are looking at as a situation on the mend. Consider that scenario first: It is a time-saver usually.

.

Today Four of Wands provides the place Six of Swords is either leaving or heading toward. Four of Wands means a place, a building (a home or any other building), and an organization, including a city, state, county, nation, etc. This meaning springs from the society wedding in its illustration: The nobility were the power people and the governments back then. (Uh, they still are?)

.

And today Wheel of Fortune echoes the change for the better that Six of Swords usually indicates: Wheel of Fortune is the miracle, the opportunity, the change for the better or best. So Six of Swords and Wheel of Fortune both speak of the better or the best happening, today.

.

Just think ‘transition’ when you see the mother and son (tradition says it’s a boy) in the little boat at dusk. Six of Swords most often today means leaving, and it also means ‘heading toward’ and ‘avoided back then.’

.

Today Six of Swords also is about how things used to be, saying things like: don’t anymore, not anymore, not being anymore – and of course ‘used to be.’

.

Today Six of Swords also says a few other things in the same category we are talking about. It address the fact you weren’t home, and they were out of office. It also mentions how you avoided something back then – that turning point.

.

The sad mood of Six of Swords, and the way it reminds you of the Egyptian haunting myth of Charon rowing the newly dead in his boat to their fate, makes Six of Swords the card that says ‘the departed.’ It means the deceased, of course, too.

.

Wheel of Fortune Wheel of Fortune is arguably the most occult card in the deck. You see various well known evil entities (the red lizard, the sphinx); you see the word ‘Rota’ which means ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ a concept from an Apollo myth; you see the Hebrew letters that mean God’s name (Jehovah, Yahweh, in English); you see the wheel looking for all the world like a roulette wheel.

.

Wheel of Fortune makes the point that, through coincidence, both divine and infernal (evil) entities affect our lives. So Wheel of Fortune means: chance, luck, opportunity, destiny, gambling, karma – all regarding coincidence.

.

In real Tarot life, though, Wheel of Fortune is only about good luck – go figure. Especially today in its present Tarot company. Strangely enough, Wheel of Fortune reminds one of the old Sears catalog, with its good/better/best designations – because it means all those words!

.

Wheel of Fortune is about events that happen (and happen due to a role coincidence plays), so you find Wheel of Fortune very very often translating ‘happen,’ and its forms. It sometimes translates ‘event’ or ‘occur.’

.

Wheel of Fortune also frequently translates both ‘wonderful’ and ‘miracle.’ It also means a big payoff, like a fantastic return on investment.

Four of Wands What we are looking at in this illustration is the official home of a power person, and the public celebration of a wedding in the family there. In Tarot Verbatim™, the three marriage cards all expand to mean community life at any level (neighborhood, city, county, region, state, nation, international), and all mean group life in any way.

.

So you find Four of Wands meaning: house, town, live there, place, home, country, and ‘belonging.’ Being a member of a group is an important meaning to Four of Wands. Community life.

.

Obviously, with a wedding as its illustration, Four of Wands means marriage and spouse and couple. And it means family and clan for the same reason. It reminds me of the Forties concept ‘of good family.’ You find Four of Wands sometimes translating ‘us,’ ‘we,’ ‘they,’ and ‘them.’ It also will simply say ‘people’ or ‘the people who,’ and ‘the crowd,’ meaning people who have something in common, or meaning just that: a crowd. It also translates ‘member’ or ‘a member of’ or even ‘member in good standing.’

.

The society wedding involves the power structure of the area, so you find Four of Wands talking about the Establishment, the Company, a Company man, and a stable company.

.

. ….. .     .

The situation is improving, Six of Swords says, and it involves leaving a situation or a place for a better one. Four of Wands is the place or situation, and of course it can represent either the one you are in and leaving, or the destination place.

(I am saying ‘ place’ here, but Four of Wands is a marriage, a home or home life, a business or organization, as well as a neighborhood, city, state or nation.) Wheel of Fortune reassures an optimal (even a wonderful) outcome to the story. I say ‘reassure’ because all by itself Six of Swords indicates a better time is ahead.

.

Today Wheel of Fortune uses its most common and basic words, and no more: luck, a chance to, an opportunity, destiny, gambling, karma, it happens, it pays off, it’s wonderful – and the ‘ good- better- best’ that only Wheel of Fortune does.

.

So our story is that whatever you are moving through is leading to something worthwhile, something even wonderful.

.

All by itself, Six of Swords is about graduating to a better life ahead; about leaving the family or the place you live for a better life; moving – relocating. Going overseas for a better life. Four of Wands shows up to represent the place, and Six of Swords shows up to represent the improvement.

.

But Six of Swords also describes the improvement happening when someone (or something) leaves you: It is a member of the ‘ not anymore’ Tarot tribe. It – Six of Swords also means recovering from something ( improving).

.

Six of Swords means ‘ I used to be,’ because it’s leaving something behind – so I used to be a member, or I used to live there, or I used to be married. Six of Swords is ‘ things are better ahead’ so you left a group of people or a town, or an organization, for a better life. This would talk about leaving one company for a better position elsewhere … or leaving an educational institution (graduating) for a better future.

.

Six of Swords isn’t necessarily literally moving; it is withdrawing from its environment to enter a new and better phase, a ‘ journey in consciousness,’ and even the journey in the afterlife (echoes of Egyptian mythology here). ‘ The departed’ is one of Six of Swords’ meanings.

Wheel of Fortune reassures an optimal (even a wonderful) outcome to the story. I say ‘reassure’ because all by itself Six of Swords indicates a better time is ahead.

.

Today Wheel of Fortune uses its most common and basic words, and no more: luck, a chance to, an opportunity, destiny, gambling, karma, it happens, it pays off, it’s wonderful – and the ‘good-better-best’ that only Wheel of Fortune does.

.

So our story is that whatever you are moving through is leading to something worthwhile, something even wonderful.

All by itself, Six of Swords is about graduating to a better life ahead; about leaving the family or the place you live for a better life; moving – relocating. Going overseas for a better life. Four of Wands shows up to represent the place, and Six of Swords shows up to represent the improvement.

.

.

.

Giving up something to get something that sure smells better (but you’re not sure): That’s where we’re at today. A better opportunity, a better life, beckons before you think you are done with the zone you inhabit already. Sometimes it’s not that we are so comfortable with where we are, but that it’s at least the devil we know. Here’s reassurance that, yes, moving on represents moving up, improving your circumstances.

Six of SwordsMother and child huddle together in the predawn (or dusk?) chill in the narrow paddle-boat, headed away with ‘the clothes on their back’ from the place they escape to the new place which has to be better than this. (Most of us have been here, yes? Hope now is not your time.)

.

Six of Swords is getting free, is withdrawing from its environment to enter a new and better phase. The withdrawing does not have to be actual travel, though; Six of Swords is also a ‘journey in consciousness,’ and even the journey in the afterlife (echoes of Egyptian mythology here). ‘The departed’ is one of Six of Swords’ meanings.

.

But Six of Swords is ‘way more complex than this one scenario. Six of Swords can emphasize the leaving, the journey, or the destination. This is a moody moody card, balancing hope and despair sometimes. It’s a member of the ‘I’m outta here’ Tarot club, and it’s a member of the ‘future is better’ Tarot club. It’s also a member of the ‘going from one place to another’ travel club, and its emphasis there is often a journey over water or crossing water.

Wheel of Fortune Wheel of Fortune attests that coincidence is the parent of chance, opportunity, luck, destiny, fate, karma, and whatever is (or isn’t) happening. Wheel of Fortune illustrates that both divine and infernal spiritual influences determine or affect what happens in what we think of as ‘the real world.’

.

The key concept here is ‘Rota,’ from whence English gets ‘rotate’ and hence ‘rotation.’ Rota is the Wheel of Fortune, or destiny. Our illustration shows the wheel looking like a roulette wheel (coincidence, chance), and it has this ‘Rota’ word with the four Hebrew letters for the name we translate as ‘Jehovah’ or Yahweh shuffled into ‘Rota.’

.

Around the wheel of fate are various funky-looking critters, some traditionally evil (the blue sphinx, the red lizard), some that may be angelic, and some … I dunno. Mr. Waite of the Rider-Waite deck was fond of obfuscating (confusing) things with arcane (mysterious) images and symbols. The Rider Waite deck has a lot of these miscellaneous symbols.

.

But applying the meaning of Wheel of Fortune isn’t complicated by all this theoretical stuff. Wheel of Fortune has few categories of meaning , and we are leaving out the esoteric stuff because today Wheel of Fortune is being its mundane normal self.

.

Wheel of Fortune is luck; is chance (both in the sense of ‘opportunity’ and ‘a chance to’ and in the sense of ‘the chances of’); is destiny or fate or karma (basically the same things). Wheel of Fortune is luck and lucky and luck out; is best and better. One of its favorite translates is ‘wonderful.’

.

Wheel of Fortune translates ‘happen’ and similar words like ‘occur’ and ‘event.’ Often it says ‘it happens.’ Since it means better and best, it also will translates ‘happens for the best’ and ‘the best happens.’

.

That roulette wheel makes Wheel of Fortune the lead card for the subject of gambling.

Fool As the zero, the cipher (the nothing), Fool isn’t affected by its environment, and yet affects its environment. (You add a zero, and the value is ten times as much, but the zero still has its same ‘nothing’ value. This concept can hold most of Fool’s meanings, its core concept, in your mind.) One of the meanings that directly stems from the zero factor is that Fool is absent or not present.

.

Another core concept to keep in mind for Fool is: Fool is the subconscious. It certainly does create effects invisibly.

.

Fool’s picture shows a pedestrian on a journey carrying a white flower (spiritual) and carrying no real provisions (careless, reckless, and faith). He is skipping to the edge of a cliff where the dirt is loose, not looking (reckless, faith). He is young and it’s noon. He has a little frisky dog with him.

.

Fool has a lot of meanings, and today we cover the ones we are looking at that are brought out by the other two cards. Fool is free, even stands for freedom. Fool is very ‘What, ME worry?” Fool is also ‘I don’t know,’ open minded, without a thought, and ‘forget.’ Fool is also not paying attention

.

Fool is very casual, easygoing, and is on a frolic quite often. Fool stands for assumption, especially assuming all will be well, which is having faith.

Talkin’ about leavin’ that same-old-scene behind, in Six of Swords. I get tired of ‘the devil you know,’ and therefore am usually happy when leaving some old scene behind. This is my chance not only to get out of what is into me, but to get into my bliss. This is my chance to duck out for a frolic. Even if what I leave behind isn’t dismal, the fact that adventure is what’s ahead makes me optimistic about my destiny. I have a chance to get out from under everybody’s everything and into anything that may be better for me. That lighthearted devil-may-care feeling of freedom is what makes me willing to move on.

Leaving a scene behind isn’t always physically moving to another place. Sometimes it represents, between us, our big chance to get away from our past together and enjoy one another in a better way. Even for a weekend, you know? It represents more going ahead with our destiny than it does a departure from our story. Leaving the scene also represents freedom. These more-appetizing meanings of Six of Swords – especially the freedom part – are brought out by Fool, who represents freedom and a good frolic, and ‘not to worry.’ And also by Wheel of Fortune, which represents the best result, something wonderful, the optimum.

.

Six of Swords and Fool are both free of (Fool) or getting free of (Six of Swords). They both can refer to a new phase, with Six of Swords phasing out of one thing and into another, and Fool starting something new. Today, with Wheel of Fortune standing by, that new phase, that something new, is splendorous. So Fool and Six of Swords have these parallels, and these parallels are encouraged by Wheel of Fortune. Out from under, free of what held me back, am into a chance to be happy.

.

Our message is that wherever you are, you are free to go on to something ‘way better.

… .. ….. ………

.

.

I got a daydream on moving on out. My life is lovely enough where I am … I made a nest for myself here the way I like it, and I’m comfortable. Cozy sometimes even. But I have this dream of going maybe overseas and nesting in some other culture, stretching my consciousness a little or a lot. And I assume that just moving on into the unknown, I will make a lovely nest there too. How about you? – what’s your dream?

.

Ace of CupsToday Ace of Cups is ‘street.’ No esoteric application here. Ace of Cups is the unconditional love card, and it very often translates ‘love’ and other forms of the word. You see the flows in the illustration. They bring all forms of the word ‘easy.’ Ace of Cups often means ‘good’ in all sorts of ways. The unconditional love and the ‘good’ come from the fact that Ace of Cups is about God’s presence flowing through humans to influence them in a good way. (That’s what’s flowing, by the way, in the picture.)

.

Ace of Cups means health and healing too. (For the deeper meanings of this card Google it, and put ‘Tarot Verbatim’ after it to get more from the archives of this site than you would without doing that.)

Queen of Pentacles She holds a large gold coin in her hands and is surrounded by fertility. Queen of Pentacles is the wise and sensible woman who backs her man and takes devoted care of him and the family. The caretaker. The matriarch or The Mama. The wife who is partnering with her husband in their or his business – she backs him financially, and she watches his back. She is associated with money, support of others and with generosity … but not stupidly. She can be a bookkeeper, can be wealthy or ‘have money.’ She appears as an investor and as a donor to causes.

.

Her shadow side is being the too-fiercely-loyal supporter of the clan, and being possessive.

.

Queen of Pentacles is skilled, is talented, has abilities, has expertise. Sometimes this Rider Waite Tarot card simply translates ‘she can’ because of this.

Two of WandsHere’s the fellow who owns the town … and the world – see it in his right hand there? He owns and invests in real estate and its related industries. He is the bank, the banker, the mortgage broker, the landlord … and The Man with the Plan. Because that’s what he’s doing there on top of his roof: planning how to wrest more money from his holdings, his investments.

.

Two of Wands is associated with the future. It’s one of the cards that puts others into future tense and very often translates ‘will’ or ‘will be’ or ‘will always.’ ‘Always’ is a favorite word of Two of Wands. He is also established, is a fund, is financial security, and is a sure thing.

.

The sure thing produces ‘for sure’ type phrases, and words like ‘certain.’

Ace of Cups is true love; Queen of Pentacles takes care of her man, and Two of Wands is financial.

Two of Wands owns and has money; Queen of Pentacles dispenses money and is running a business – and of course Two of Wands means ‘business.’

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Wheel of Fortune
Six of Swords – Ten of Cups – Sun

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

First, some cards that mean the same things:

Ten of Cups and Sun both mean happiness, both involve children. Sun is more ‘fun’ than ‘happy,’ but it depends on the sentence.

Six of Swords and Sun both mean to be free of what held you back. Six of Swords is a gradual leaving, and Sun is impulsive and at the moment. Sun is having fun at the moment, and life is going to be, later, for Six of Swords.

Ten of Cups and Wheel of Fortune Even these two, in actual use, describe the same thing sometimes: After all ‘happily ever after’ is ‘a wonderful happening.’

(THIS IS THE END OF EXPLAINING HOW THESE CARDS OVERLAP)

Six of Swords and Sun are different perspectives on leaving behind what holds you back. Emphasis in Six of Swords is better times are ahead because we are putting a bad time, a bad place, behind – even escaping. We are moving on. Sun emphasizes getting out from under restrictions – a vacation, a field day, going A.W.O.L., ducking out. Nothing in Sun about a better time ahead per se: Little Boy is recklessly naked on a wicked pony having the time of his little life in the sun for the moment.

Six of Swords and Sun Mood in Six of Swords is somber (depressing), and in Sun is exuberant. In Six of Swords, things will be better. In Sun … no news about that. Six of Swords is abut the future; Sun is about the moment.

Six of Swords and Ten of CupsTen of Cups is definitely the better place, the better home, the better life that the folks in Six of Swords are going toward. Everybody there is happy and content. Ten of Cups means ‘happily ever after,’ after all.

Six of Swords and Wheel of Fortune Wheel of Fortune is the lucky break, the good fortune, that got Six of Swords to Ten of Cups … or that got you from your dismal Six of Swords departure to your joyous Ten of Cups arrival.

So this is a wonderful spread for the Happy New Year when we put the old behind and celebrate a happy future

Six of Swords   It’s finally over and we are on our way out escaping with nothing left from a bad scene back there, like refugees. Phasing into a better time simply because anything is an improvement … but we are not looking ahead; we are in the process of getting the heck outa there in our little boat with the help of a friend heading over the water to better times and better places.

Ten of Cups Happily-ever-after. There’s no place like home. We are content with our family, we are together and prosperous in this good neighborhood with our boy-and-a-girl offspring. The dream life for most people. It also just means ‘people,’ us, all of us.

Sun   School is over, mama isn’t lookin’ and I snuck out to play in the sun, it’s a happy-happy day. Right now, this minute, I have escaped the rules and am off the hook. What mean-looking pony?, that’s my buddy!

Wheel of Fortune Wonderful. Good luck, opportunity, chance, destiny and coincidence. Just happened to. The four Hebrew letters that mean a recipe for creation and the Name (They capitalize this.) of God are interspersed on a wheel that also has the letters T, A, R and O on it which looks for all the world like a roulette wheel. Mythical funky creatures are in the corners, with clouds. We make light use of this card today, so I am leaving out its weightier meanings.

Lucky day for love and money, better times ahead

Six of Swords
Wheel of Fortune, Six of Pentacles, Ace of Cups

This is your lucky day, you get paid, you get loved, and hard times are over.
It’s easy to go where there’s a bargain – it just happens.
Deserved good fortune, feeling good, no more problems.
A good chance to get favorable attention where you haven’t, before.
Loving attention is happening like it never has.
Fantastic good feeling: something you take makes all the bad feeling go away.
Gambling pays off, life is easier from now on.
Love life improves, wonderful attention.
The odds are favorable for you to cash in like you never have.
A chance to get away and take it easy for a fair price.
It happens so easily, your pay improves.
Going away to gamble with your love, you make money.
A trip you can afford – money for the trip – happens so naturally.
Lottery pays off (lucky money), life will be easier.

Wheel of Fortune refers to (obviously) gambling, taking a chance, luck or lucky, lottery, and ‘a chance,’ odds, etc. The illustration suggests a roulette wheel.  It means to happen (usually a good happening), an optimum result, even a miracle. Fate or destiny is expressed in the critters surrounding the wheel, some of which are ominous.

Six of Pentacles is the payoff when put next to the Wheel of Fortune. Duh, we can see that. It refers to getting paid for labor fairly, therefore ‘a fair exchange,’ and getting what you (or another) deserve(s). True to the Tarot rule that action applies either way (and to any character in the Tarot card’s illustration), the Six of Pentacles also means to pay, as in paying the bills. See the scales of justice? – that, too.

Ace of Cups is all good: good health, good feeling, good anything. It means a a flow (or leak) and hence the idea of ‘easy.’ It actually refers to the five senses and the Holy Spirit, but those questions are rare, so it doesn’t often get used that way.

Six of Swords is getting away from bad times, better times ahead, life (or whatever) improves, and bad stuff is put behind. Escaping a bad scene. Depression sometimes, because the reason there are better times ahead is the past was so bad that leaving means improvement.

So here we have yet another manic ‘happy-happy-happy’ message for y’all. If you didn’t buy that lottery ticket yesterday, get one today. This should be an ‘up’ day, one of those mornings you wake up ready for something good, and, by golly, it’s ALL good.

Wishing Well

Go Ahead, Toss in a Quarter or Two. Good Luck!
