Dealing mentally with your own fears enables you to deal with scary people

Strength
Ten of Cups, Queen of Cups, Page of Swords

Make yourself see that, despite all the reasons you know of to be fearful, everyone is doing well.
Everybody is as happy and prosperous as they think they are, and they are able to solve whatever problem threatens their good life together.
A mentality of already having a good life is a defense to whatever would get in the way of that good life.
Dealing mentally with your own fears enables you to deal with scary people.
It’s an exciting time for everybody as they realize they are overcomers.
We are all overcoming whatever we thought were threats to having a good life now.
You make yourself happy by overcoming in your own head whatever opposes your having a good life.
Adjust your own ideas of what a good life is for you and yours, and defend that turf.

You and your people are enjoying good times and you know to calm yourself when things get to you.
Once the mouthy teenager is quieted, everyone understands how happy we all really are.
You know your people well enough to make everyone happy by not letting them get on one another’s nerves.
She knows her people well enough to make everyone happy by not letting them get on one another’s nerves.
You prevent discord and make the people around you happy by knowing how to calm down the difficult, oppositional people.
She prevents discord and makes the people around her happy by knowing how to calm down the difficult, oppositional people.
You and your friends and family have a group mentality that keeps you from getting on one another’s nerves and keeps you happy together.
When you deal firmly with that annoying person, you will understand that everyone was really getting along together.

The gist of this description of how pleased you will be with the next six months is that the good life is here already; it is a matter of defining it and defending it against spoilers from the outside. It is also a matter of adjusting your inside thinking to automatically overcome whatever is in the way there. This sounds like gratitude and the law of attraction. It also sounds like Buddha’s slogan that one of the ways to have everything you want is to want only what you already have.

We have asked how pleased with life, and we begin with the Ten of Cups, which means ‘happily ever after.’ This is associated with mentality or thinking, the Queen of Cups, the thinker, who is also a peacemaker sort of gal. Next come the teenage attitude that desecrates domestic peace, the spoiler, closely followed by that element being shut up, overcome, dealt with firmly, by Strength. So our story is fairly obvious. It’s an allegory (vocabulary word alert: a story that illustrates a point) about how mama is the sweet peacemaker of the family; she keeps it happy by not letting the mouthy kid make all that noise. Deal with your life that way.

Queen of Cups and Strength are female cards by the illustrations, but the Queen becomes ‘mentality’ and her thoughts become ‘your’ thoughts because these messages are for a group and ‘she’ excludes the male gender but ‘he’ doesn’t.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Ten of Cups: One big happy prosperous family, a happy outcome, a happily-ever-after marriage and home life. The rainbow over the house, the girl and boy child dancing and parents with arms to the sky, ta-da, displaying their rainbow … where’s the dog? We need that little frisky white dog of the Fool here. Hope he didn’t really fall off that cliff.

Queen of Cups: Here is the nice lady wife of the happily-ever-after family, dreamily contemplating her oversized doo-dad. She is thinking of her man, understanding her man.

Page of Swords: This is a teenager, I say!, in the otherwise happy family. He is defensive and aggressive, standing there with his sword in both hands waving it around at … nothing. There’s nothing within a mile of him and yet he is in hell-raising mode.

Strength: Interesting how she comes right after the one who needs to be soothed and stymied. Strength makes peace, with an accent on the ‘makes.’ She is the over-comer, she has such character no one crosses her but she is non-combative. She has tamed her own beast, and can tame
