Tarot Readings for You for February 5, 2013 Tuesday(c)

Our message is very clear:  Make the very best use of your difficulties. Your screwed-up relatives are your springboard to a life of being with people you can trust. Being acclimated to a culture or family of misfits gives you the ability to overcome that and make your own life a civilized, even loving, one.   And you can carve out a good experience for yourself amidst that crazy scene where you work.

Strength

Ten of Wands – Ten of Pentacles – Six of Cups

5

Tarot Readings:  Dysfunctional Childhood (Ten of Pentacles + Six of Cups)

A very dysfunctional childhood makes a person strong.

I grew up with such twisted people that I can make a good life for myself anyhow.

Growing up in a big family gives her the ability to handle difficult people.

A whole lot of lowlifes gives me the ability to have a good life despite anything to the contrary.

It isn’t easy, but I have overcome the long term effects of the culture I was brought up in.

Handling relatives gives you the ability to weather any difficulty.

I am overcoming my childhood and all my difficult relatives.

Tarot Readings:  Being Loving in the Midst of Troubles (Ten of Pentacles + Six of Cups)

No matter how difficult the relationship, she gets her partner to be sweet to her.

We can handle the very worst of times and still love one another.

We have plenty of troubles to discourage us, I am making the best life for all of us.

She has the gift of hanging in there through the worst of it, keeping it down to a roar.

If you want to be sweet, you better be strong enough to put up with those who aren’t.

Tarot Readings:  House and Neighborhood (Ten of Pentacles + Six of Cups)

We have been in this deteriorating neighborhood so long we are doing something about it.

Mama gets everyone in the whole feuding family to make up.

Tarot Readings:  Organizations and Politics (Ten of Pentacles)

Being a risk manager, keeping people safe, in spite of their tireless efforts to mess things up.

Large organizations always give you problems with your benefits.

I have been at this crazy place long enough that I can handle it and have a good life.

Being soo sweet to hateful people is the best way to handle them long term.

I carve out my own little world to keep these people who will always be screwed up at arm’s length from me.

You can carve out a decent experience for yourself in the midst of the depressing organization you are part of.

Tarot Readings:  Getting the Children to Behave (Six of Cups + Strength)

These kids are from really bad families, and she gets them to mind so well.

Bringing up good children around a lot of bad people is quite the skill.

She has the skill to make good children out of the baddest of all scenes.

He is a mother-lode of problems, and she makes him be good.

Children (Six of Cups) and family (Ten of Pentacles).  Six of Cups is the loving (loved) children and Ten of Pentacles speaks of growing up among messed-up relatives.  Six of Cups speaks of making the best life, and Ten of Pentacles adds ‘in an organization not conducive to that.’  Both of these cards are houses and neighborhoods.  Both refer to backgrounds too:  Six of Cups is sweet nostalgic memories of the past or of childhood, and Ten of Pentacles is the family or cultural background from hell.

So, what are we doing with these scenes?  Well, Ten of Wands is putting up with it, is the long-term effects of it, and connotes a burden, things that are difficult.  This card is being overloaded and overwhelmed but also means slow progress to your desired destination. (He’s gonna make it.)

Then there’s Strength, always saving the day when you have the heavier Tarot cards.  Strength is skills and abilities to handle and overcome those difficulties, and also is about asserting yourself where there is trouble or potential trouble:  taming the beast.

Our message is very clear:  Make the very best use of your difficulties. Your screwed-up relatives are your springboard to a life of being with people you can trust.  Being acclimated to a culture or family of misfits gives you the ability to overcome that and make your own life a civilized, even loving, one.

Ten of Wands    Well, here’s you with your burdens.  It speaks of a backbreaking burden, of putting up with difficulty, of slow and painful progress (progress nevertheless).  It is sometimes ‘long term,’ as in the long term effects of something.  Of course it also means ‘a long time’ in any context.  It’s about:  Being overloaded and overwhelmed is not the end of the world, just a big hump to get over.  Ten of Wands is gonna make it to the desired destination, having ‘done it all in one load.’

Ten of Pentacles is the screwedupness of people in a group, any group – from a couple to a nation to a world.  It’s your politicians and your relatives and coworkers, and it’s being a misfit yourself or putting up with defective-unit folks.  A family quarrel scene illustrates this idea:  Grandpa on his throne probably wants another grandkid.  Most often, this is about a group you are part of in some way.  It refers to a house, a neighborhood, your background or culture.  Philosophically, it refers to the human condition.

Six of Cups    Little Boy gives Little Girl flowers in front of  an estate or apartment building.  This warm fuzzy scene is about good children, good childhood, good memories of the past, having a good life, romance and trust … and children of course.  This is your old flame, first love, the house you grew up in, friends you trust, the old neighborhood, or living in a safe neighborhood.  It’s a mellow feeling that ‘All’s right with the world.’

Strength    Then there’s Strength, always saving the day when you have the heavier Tarot cards.  Strength is skills and abilities to handle and overcome those difficulties, and also is about asserting yourself where there is trouble or potential trouble:  taming the beast within and taming the beast without.  It’s about deftly and diplomatically finessing a potential major threat to your well-being, it’s about making that disturber of your peace purr.
