Advice is about a man’s experience of marriage–a gentle man’s, to be specific. Being the ‘happily married man’ means being the bureaucratic type, being decent and conforming. This is more than enough to give a guy cold feet. He feels jealous for no reason. His family feels threatened by his new marriage. Meanwhile, she is excited to marry a good man, even one that annoys her in some ways. He defends ‘his people.’

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!
==================================================================== Ten of Cups Fool, King of Cups, Page of Swords DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS Marriage Perspective The family assumes his being married is some threat to them. May as well marry the good man who annoys you. Excited to marry the good man, and you may as well. Optimistic and thrilled about marrying (or being married to) a decent calm man. He feels he may as well marry in spite of his cold feet (nervousness). He doesn’t think of himself in terms of being a ‘happily married man,’ that makes him self-conscious. He has no reason to be jealous of his spouse. His family doesn’t have a worry in the world; he does their worrying for them. The Embattled Man He is edgy with his folks, doesn’t know why. He defends his people mindlessly: He is touchy about this. These people are who he is part of, no matter how mad he is with them. It isn’t worth fighting with his neighborhood/community about, but his feelings are hurt. Emotional Man He is so emotional, so jealous … happy with him other than that. He assumes he is happy whenever he feels that way … until proven otherwise. May as well be happy and calm. Why get mad? He just lets his emotions flow, and it gets him in trouble with people. This is the dominant theme. To the left of this unit is Fool, a multidimensional Rider Waite Tarot card that means to not even think, to assume, to just let it be, optimism – today’s applications of Fool. To the right is Page of Swords who is also emotional (so he joins with King of Cups in that). Both of these also can be jealous, too. Page of Swords is hyped up, excited, feels threatened, edgy, touchy, defensive – in this case defending his group – whether family, community, neighborhood, whatever, including sports loyalties and ethnicities. Defending the honor, you know. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS Fool doesn’t even think about it, assumes, just lets it be, is optimistic and lighthearted and casual … whatever …. This is the fellow who is skipping over the cliff with his doggie, and is on a journey with a little pouch on a stick. King of Cups is the gentleman, the calm man, the mellow fellow, the bureaucrat, the decent man, the mild-mannered unassertive good man, the emotional paramour or husband. He is positively aspected in our spread. The Rider Waite illustration of King of Cups shows him looking uneasy, with water running around his throne and the symbol of ships being tossed on waves that appears right on cue for instability in the Rider Waite system. Page of Swords is hyped up, excited, feels threatened, edgy, touchy, defensive – in this case defending his group – whether family, community, neighborhood, whatever, including sports loyalties and ethnicities. Defending the honor, you know. He is apprehensive, jealous, nervous, mad, annoyed. Pictured with hair flying, holding his trusty blade aloft with no one in sight for miles around, just some storm clouds. Ten of Cups is happiness, marriage, happy marriage, spouse, family, people, neighborhood or neighbors, community, folks, the good people, people in the ‘normal’ group, and so on. The cloying illustration is of an embracing couple with the dream home in the suburbs with golf-course landscaping, the boy- and girl- child skipping along, a rainbow over the house … AND NO DOG! Where’s Toto?
