Ten of Pentacles – Six of Swords – Ten of Wands

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

………………..…….. ……… . ….       The spread today gives Six of Swords the stage. It is about getting over and getting out, that better days are ahead. There it sets in the middle. To its left is Ten of Pentacles, troubled people and people who are trouble – family, relatives, couples, neighborhoods – even workplaces. To its right is no relief card. To its right is Ten of Wands which amplifies the difficulties of surrounding cards and indicates long term and/or difficult. So it’s all about Six of Swords, which is all about putting the bad situation of the past behind and moving on to something better. Six of Swords is a promise things will be better, but both Six of Swords and Ten of Wands are about depression.

…………………………    Ten of Pentacles is one of the cards Tarot Verbatim™ diverges from other Tarot systems on. In Tarot Verbatim™ Four of Wands and Ten of Cups are your good-marriage good-family good-people cards, while Ten of Pentacles is the dysfunctional relationship, dysfunctional people, dysfunctional marriage card. (ALL three of these Tarot cards refer to any size group, from a couple to international scope.) However, if both of those ‘happy group’ cards (Four of Wands and Ten of Cups) appear in your spread, that promotes Ten of Pentacles to mean they same as they do.

So especially if each of three Celtic Cross sentences has one each of Four of Wands, Ten of Cups and Ten of Pentacles, that is talking about a good couple, family, clan, neighborhood or etc.

Anyway, back to Ten of Pentacles in Tarot Verbatim™. ‘People who are trouble; people who have trouble’ is Ten of Pentacles in a nutshell. Any group, any size. Pictured is a family ‘discussion.’ Grandpa is on his throne. He has made a decree to Son. Most likely he wants another grand-kid. Grand-kid is squalling and pulling on Mother’s skirt. Mother is earnestly talking (pleading?) with Husband … who turns sideways to her and stares into space like husbands are wont to do. It’s two against one, and Grandpa has the money. Even the dogs are minding Grandpa. This scene makes the meanings of Ten of Pentacles what they are in Tarot Verbatim™. Because Tarot Verbatim™ minds the illustrations in Rider Waite (and related decks).

Ten of Pentacles can be a rich neighborhood or a troubled one, and Ten of Pentacles can represent the old-fashioned Mafia mob, probably because of the family dictator there. (I don’t make up Tarot Verbatim™ meanings; I observe and record them from actual readings.)

………………………..    Six of Swords, the star of today’s show, shows people leaving like refugees, moving to another place and putting this one behind them. Six of Swords is getting over and getting out. Six of Swords is in recovery and has hope for the future. Setting next to Ten of Pentacles, Six of Swords is speaking of physically leaving a place or people who have been a source of grief. Yes, and also distancing oneself – leaving in spirit, putting something behind or aside, not trying anymore – giving up, but never giving up hope. We have other cards for giving up hope.

……………………. ……Ten of Wands ‘has had a bellyful,’ as they say: too much. Overwhelm. Overload. Slow going. Difficult time of it. But will get there eventually. Note that both this Ten of Wands and Six of Swords posit a better future. Six of Swords will arrive at a better place to live, and Ten of Wands will deliver what he strained to carry in one load. Ten of Wands is one of those cards that can simply translate ‘all’ because he has all those boards on his back. It can even translate ‘very’ and ‘too’ as well as ‘too much.’ Ten of Wands can mean ‘more than enough’ in a positive way too, so that Three of Wands and Ten of Wands can say ‘more than enough income.’ Today, in the company of a trouble theme, Ten of Wands is:

long time

very

hard

going on with

the worse things are now

crushing

too many

difficult

taking me forever

so tired

slowly

reluctantly, sadly

too much to bear

sad

nothing like …

overwhelmed

All

finally

taking on

deepest … hurting

my own cross to bear

overwhelming

Sometimes you step up to the plate and take it all on. Sometimes you decide it’s too much, and you leave or distance yourself. In either case, things get better as a result of what you do.

Now we show where each of the phrases in each of the sentences comes from:

Ten of Pentacles………Ten of Pentacles is a bad time with other people. Ten of Pentacles can be ‘those people.’ It is dissension in the ranks. It’s your cussed relatives … yeah ‘them.’ Ten of Pentacles is impossible to get along with. Ten of Pentacles is ‘our problem,’ the trouble we share as a couple, family, clan, neighborhood, work force – any group of any size and any scope. This is the card for what people call ‘discrimination,’ which they would call ‘favoritism’ if they knew what ‘discrimination’ really meant. This is the card for conspiracy, organized crime, dirty politics and, of course, family politics, which is what the illustration shows. (See the description in detail in Learn Tarot by Observing.)

.

Six of Swords………….Today’s readings are ‘Variation on a Theme of Six of Swords.’ The companion cards amplify Six of Swords’ main meaning of getting out of a situation, putting it behind, and going on to better days. ‘Better Days Ahead’ would be a good title for Six of Swords’ movie.

.

Ten of Wands……….Ten of Wands is when you decide to take on the whole enchilada all by yourself, when you decide to do something in one batch, all together, instead of piecemeal. It’s backbreaking and even discouraging, but, by golly, you’ve gone and done it all in one load, possibly saving time or fuel or whatever, in the end. Ten of Wands is one of the cards that mean sadness, depression, melancholy – ‘your cross to bear’ kind of thing.

Tarot Readings for You for February 10, 2014 Monday©

Guidance      So maybe it’s a slow long hard uphill climb to success and to togetherness. Tarot equates success with togetherness … teamwork, you know. Being persistent and taking it slow because of rest stops, you will eventually get to Mount Serendipity’s summit. How many dysfunctional places and people before you have the formula – and the good luck – that fits you into the social life with likeminded people that you are on the track of? Oh, it could be a while but you will get there even if you have to leave a mountain of kissed pigs behind.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the four cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Tarot Readings: Sharing the Trouble (Three of Cups and Ten of Pentacles)

In the slowest and hardest times we band together to make the best of it.

We share the burden and the trouble, and we share the payoff.

We are in this difficulty together for a while to come; it is our path.

We chip in for one another when the going gets tough for friends.

Keep our spirits up the most when we have the most problems.

When you are on your path you have some joy even when you are going through hard times.

Tarot Readings: Financial Trouble (Ace of Pentacles and Ten of Pentacles)

Aren’t we all happy about our slow progress out of financial difficulties.

We make it through a financial slowdown by sharing assets and liabilities.

The company is in deep trouble; we all pitch in for mutual benefit.

Our financial troubles are extreme but we have enough money to enjoy life.

Money troubles so bad for so long that they feel like good times to us.

Tarot Readings: We are Happy And Successful Together (Ace of Pentacles and Three of Cups)

Other people are hurting and barely making it, but we are toasting a bumper year.

There’s an industry-wide stagnation, but our profits are up.

We’re a motley crew but we always have the best fun together.

Have been in this neighborhood too long, and now we have money.

Relatives are my cross to bear, and friends are my reward.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Ten of Wands

Ace of Pentacles – Three of Cups – Ten of Pentacles

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

Ace of Pentacles and Three of Cups Stories today. The first two cards are about profit and assets and success, being on the road to prosperity, and being on that road together.

Ten of Pentacles and Ten of Wands The other two are about difficulties, complications, delays and depression. Obviously, our stories for today juxtapose and contrast.

Ace of Pentacles is the premier success card, and it means to possess as well as money, financial, reward, values and such. It also means right and is a road, so it speaks of being on the right path, and being on the right road, and the right way to accomplish something.

Three of Cups is people (girl friends) who have pooled money, resources and effort in an enterprise and are all still friends sharing that profit and celebrating. It is about friends, getting together, having a good time, and sharing.

Ten of Pentacles People who are problems and people who have problems: This is how to remember what Ten of Pentacles contributes in Tarot Verbatim™. This is not its meaning, at all, in other systems you may encounter. So Ten of Pentacles is a group of people who are the lowlifes in any shade or flavor; it is difficulties and problems among people as a group, from a couple to international affairs. It’s those blankety-blank neighbors, an the bad neighborhood; but it is also the rich families in politics or the mob or corrupt corporations. Ten of Pentacles is the BG’s, the Bad Guys.

And Ten of Wands is ‘overload.’ It expresses that something is extreme in any way, too much, too long or delay, to be depressed, slow going, the burden, slow progress, steady climb. It means a burden of any kind, being overloaded but slowly making it.

Three of Cups and Ten of Pentacles each means ‘friends’ and each shows people together as a group. The contrast is that Three of Cups is a happy bunch of people celebrating success, a good time, and prosperity that they share. Ten of Pentacles (in Tarot Verbatim™ and possibly nowhere else) is people who are or who have a problem. Unhappy, disgruntled folks who are not getting aong. So the contrast is happy people and good times with unhappy people and hard times.

Ace of Pentacles and Three of Cups are prosperity cards. Each means money, financial success, to have money, and ‘profitable.’ Of course, in addition, Three of Cups today is a party or get-together, and Ace of Pentacles is on the road.

Ace of Pentacles and Ten of Wands each mean ‘the most.’ Ace of Pentacles expresses ‘the best,’ so its ‘the most’ is positive. Ten of Wands expresses an extreme of anything, and is usually negative, since it means to be burdened or overloaded or depressed.

Ten of Pentacles and Ten of Wands each means hard times, difficult times, tough situations to handle. Ten of Pentacles emphasizes social difficulties (any group), and Ten of Wands emphasizes how hard something is to bear – usually for an individual.

.

Ace of Pentacles The path, success, money and financial and profit, right, to possess, to pay or to receive money, to contribute or chip in, to be the rightful possessor of an asset, the road and to be on the road, the very best, benefit, enough money to, what you DO have, perfect, and to be on the road. You see a ‘straight and narrow’ road or path, victory arbor at its end and lilies at its beginning, with a handful of gold hovering above.

Three of Cups The girls are together celebrating a good harvest, good profit. They pooled resources and assets and are still together sharing the profit of their labor and ingenuity and cooperation. This is about good business, teamwork, mutual benefit … and about celebrating the prosperity. About partying, get-together or reunion of any kind, including a date, including a ‘loose woman.’ It’s about fun.

Ten of Pentacles Troubled times, dysfunctional relatives or relationship of any kind, including a company in trouble and a company, gang or political (whatever) that IS trouble. It’s a bad neighborhood or a very wealthy one. It’s about people who are hurting because of other people. It’s about our difficulties, our ‘scenes.’ Pictured in the Rider Waite Tarot is a family ‘discussion.’ Grandpa on his throne, son not listening to or looking at his wife, and offspring clutching at mama, squalling. In Tarot Verbatim, this is the negative marriage card.

Ten of Wands The burden that slows progress to a crawl when troubles are extreme, when you are barely making it and the stagnation has been too long to put up with. Too many, too much, too depressing. Finally, eventually, after a long delay. It especially means the worst of, and long term and overwhelming. Deep trouble, hard times. But it also means ‘all of’ and doing it all in one load or all at once, long lasting, for a while to come … and ‘will always.’

Extremely scared of leaving your roots!

Eight of Cups
Page of Swords, Ten of Pentacles, Ten of Wands

Romantic Perspective:
Eventually get out of the family problems that make you nervous.
Feeling paranoid about this relationship, it’s way too complicated: Get out!
Very scary to get out of your group’s/family’s culture!
Eventually exit this family that drives you crazy.
They get on your nerves to the max – get out of here.

Other/Business Perspectives:

People who are extremely f*cked up make you nervous, wanting to get the heck out of there.
Eventually leaving the screwed up bunch of people that get on your nerves.
Extremely scared of leaving your roots!
This bunch of people annoy you; you are step-by-step getting out.
Way too screwed up people, don’t let them get to you!
Tune out all the problems other people annoy you with to the max.

Well, well, well. In the middle we have a bunch of screwed-up humans, the Ten of Pentacles. To the left, we have ‘getting on your nerves,’ paranoia, feeling threatened, the Page of Swords. To the right, we have ‘to the max,’ ‘too much,’ the Ten of Wands. And over it all we have ‘get the heck outa here.’ Enough said???!!! This is advice to tune out all the problems other people annoy you with to the max.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Page of Swords: Look at this guy! He is standing on a knoll surrounded by open field, and he is fired up to defend himself against unknown intrusion. We all have those days, don’t we?? Pissed off, wanting to fight all comers, maybe? Phrases that this Rider Waite Tarot card engender are: nervous, paranoid, scary/scared, drives (you) crazy, get on your nerves, make you nervous, annoy, ‘ get to you.’

Ten of Pentacles: A bunch of screwed-up humans, family problems, complicated relationship, family culture, this family that drives you crazy, they get on your nerves, people who are extremely fucked-up, screwed-up bunch of people, your roots, this bunch of annoying people, screwed-up people, other people annoy you: These are the phrases it contributes to today’s spread. The illustration shows Grandpa sitting on his chair-throne, grumpier than Archie Bunker, as a couple in the family have a quarrel, their child clinging onto them, squalling, and the dogs (greyhounds?) come to the head of the family to get petted. It is obviously a wealthy family, from the setting.

Ten of Wands: The illustration shows a fellow who takes on the burden of doing everything all at once. It is slow going. He is overwhelmed, but he will still make it, step by slow step. This is a depressing scene for him. So, meanings such as ‘eventually,’ ‘way too,’ ‘very,’ ‘to the max,’ ‘extremely,’ ‘step-by-step’ ‘way too,’ ‘to the max.’ are what are expressed today by this Rider Waite Tarot card.

Eight of Cups: This Rider Waite’s Tarot card illustration shows someone taking a short cut or abandoning a course of action for another. Something ends before it is completed: a sliver moon and a full moon conjoined. The mood is “I’m the f*** out of here” or “on to better things.” The meanings we apply for this Tarot deck citizen are: get out of, get out, exit, get out of here, get the heck out of there, leaving, getting out, don’t let ___ , tune out.

No husband to take care of, she is dating

Three of Cups
Death, Queen of Pentacles, King of Wands

Romance Perspective:
Not sharing a fun life with this husband, but she is his bookkeeper.
She isn’t possessive of her husband and his party girls.
She shares her money freely with a man who isn’t her husband.
She does not share her money with her husband.
She is a party girl, not a woman to devote herself to a husband.
She and the girl friends are wealthy and have no husbands.
He isn’t the kind of husband who is fun to be with; he is high maintenance.
She is devoted to her women friends, not to her husband.
She dates men who are NOT husbands (not married).
She is not possessive about her husband; she parties, herself.
He is not the wealthy woman’s husband, they are just dating.
Husband is NOT dating the bookkeeper or woman who manages/invests his money.

Financial Perspective:
Husband isn’t using her part of  joint money.
Husband has no joint funds with his wife.
She invests husband’s money, not the money that is joint.

See?  Even less variety. Both the Queen of Pentacles and the Three of Cups involve women possessing their own money.  The Queen of Pentacles is known as the take-care woman, the woman who takes care of her man and her man’s business affairs and money; and next to her is the King of Wands, famous as the husband card.  He can also be angry, irritated, low-class, etc. but those meanings are not brought out in him today because the ‘not’ card keeps applying to him, since both the cards meaning women around him talk about them and money.  Sooo don’t expect any business meanings out of this.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Death: This card scares some people.  It really illustrates the Middle Ages “The King is dead, long live the King” concept, which echoes the Eight of Cups’ main meaning:  that the end of one thing is the beginning of another.  In Tarot Verbatim, the Death card is a negative prefix or any word that negates a card it is associated with.  It often means no, never, not, dis-, and the like.  It also means ‘end of,’ stop, ‘no more’ and the like.
The illustration is a bishop in possession of the dead king’s crown, ready to bequeath it to the next monarch.  This is one of the cards the people of the Middle Ages put in the deck, which, in the thinking of some purists, makes it inferior to the other Tarot cards.

Queen of Pentacles: She takes care of her man and his business and his money.  She is the woman who has money.  She is protective and possessive of her husband.  She is almost always in a family, most likely a married woman. She is most likely an emotional person,
The illustration with the goat’s head indicates she can be a witch if that is part of your subject or question.  She is pictured with the money (pentacle) in her hands, looking at it, very well dressed.

King of Wands: Today he pretty much is relegated to ‘husband.’  His illustration shows what the Tarot books refer to as a ‘country man,’ meaning ‘country boy’ and ‘redneck.’  Yes, he is a lout of some degree, often.  He is the man with the temper.  The red head – see the illustration.

Three of Cups:
In this Rider Waite Tarot card, the girls have pooled their money and are sharing in the profits of their enterprise.  They are celebrating.  They can be party girls, can be girlfriends.
