Tarot Readings : Two of Pentacles and Eight of Cups
Eight of Cups

I keep getting disrupted, so it takes longer.

Quit going around in circles; it slows you down.

Somehow, I’m always the one who drops out.

He’s a no-show over and over all the time.

Somehow I’ve got to cut these hard times short.

Things go one way and then the other – wishy-washy – until that’s finally over.

Finally, the dizziness stops.

It’s because this person is tipsy that he/she is always running off the road.

Tarot Readings : Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands
Ten of Wands

It’s been one difficulty after another – take a break!

You go for a long time, and then it’s right around the bend, and you’re done.

The hardest times of the cycle abruptly are over with.

Overloaded over and over, and then ‘a straw that broke the camel’s back.’

It’s the same thing over and over forever until you just walk out.

You kept trying so hard, and now you quit.

You are going through a long phase of instability that’s almost over now.

If you rock their boat hard enough, they leave you alone.

Keep up a delaying tactic until they give up.

One continuance after the other, and then it’s dismissed.

Tarot Readings : Eight of Cups and Ten of Wands
Eight of Cups Ten of Wands

It takes a lot of effort to get derailed life back.

Lots of loopholes to get out of it – finally.

Eventually get out of a dumb routine.

I get over it, and it just comes back … it’s here to stay.

It’s not hard for me anymore, I do it so often.

Two of Pentacles

Two of Pentacles is all about all kinds of motion. (I am not going into that because we are not using those meanings here. If you want to research that for a project you are doing, just type ‘Two of Pentacles Tarot Verbatim™’ and Google will bring it to you. You see a band around the balls he is juggling as he dances, and that is in the math sign for ‘infinitely repeating.’ So Two of Pentacles is a cycle – ongoing, repeating, continuing. It’s one of the many cards that translates ‘always’ too. It can mean the usual routine, too.

Then the tossing ships bring in ‘instability’ meanings. His outfit and the hat that looks like a dunce cap brings meanings about being goofy or silly. But today, we are pretty much just using the ‘on and on, over and over’ categories of his.

Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups throws a monkey wrench into Two of Pentacles regular movement: It means a disruption, to run off the road, to quit or put an end to something. It means walking out, dropping out, quitting, abruptly ceasing.

Eight of Cups is about a change of direction due to circumstances, with the intent of resuming the course after the detour. This picture shoes a pilgrim going around a mountain and river, with the full and the sliver moon both in the sky, to indicate an end and a beginning of, yes, a cycle. (Remember, Two of Pentacles refers to cycles and to continuing movement.)

Ten of Wands

Ten of Wands

Ten of Wands collects words that mean ‘a lot’ or ‘too much,’ and means those words literally and similar ones like: very, extremely, way too (whatever), overloaded, overwhelmed. Ten of Wands is also slow, due to the slow one-step-at-a-time progress the fellow is making. Ten of Wands is about difficulty, about that gradual uphill climb, about things that drag on and drag out, and tire tiresome and tiring.

Don’t pity Mr. Ten of Wands: He makes it, and the reason for his burden is that he decided, he chose, to do it all in one load to save, probably, time.

Now Without The Pictures

Two of Pentacles goes on and on; Ten of Wands goes on forever; Eight of Cups stops abruptly. All three Tarot cards are about motion. Two of Pentacles is one of the cards that commonly says ‘keeps,’ meaning keeps doing or keeps it up. Eight of Cups makes that say ‘keeps quitting.’ Two of Pentacles means ‘one after the other’ and Ten of Wands is difficulties. Two of Pentacles is instability and being erratic, and Eight of Cups runs off the road. So Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands say ‘unstable too long.’

As you can see, there’s no action card for all this to refer to. That leaves a message that says something stops that has been going on a long time. It says a cycle is disrupted.

Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands together have such similar meanings. They both translate ‘continuing.’ Two of Pentacles is a process, one thing after another, endlessly on and on, ups and downs, routinely. Ten of Wands goes on forever, one step at a time, slow progress. Two of Pentacles is fast repeats; Ten of Wands is dragging on slowly. Together, they emphasize ‘on and on forever.’

TAROT READINGS: COMING AROUND TO SEEING THINGS AS THEY ARE (TWO OF PENTACLES AND HERMIT)

I keep getting wiser all the time.

Now that I am older, I see how very silly I have been.

I can be extremely goofy stone cold sober.

Go through ups and downs long enough, and you’re patient.

He has come back here looking, for a long time.

I am too old for this nonsense.

You keep going to the doctor too much.

You may find what you are looking for eventually.

I am – gradually – coming around to seeing things as they are.

One fact after the other adds up.

………..…………

TAROT READINGS: LONG AND WINDING ROAD (TWO OF PENTACLES AND TEN OF WANDS)

I have finally come full circle in my perspective.

I carry looking out for other people to the ridiculous extreme.

It’s a long and winding road he’s on.

The truth is either silly or heavy.

I’m levelheaded about my manic depression.

More sober than tipsy.

………..…………

TAROT READINGS: A BURDEN ON MY FRIENDS (HERMIT AND TEN OF WANDS)

We have been friends forever, through ups and downs.

Whenever I get down, my friend is upbeat and acts silly.

Doing a round trip, you are on the road all night.

You are entirely too serious about this goofball.

Surveillance goes on forever.

It’s true: I do it the hard way every time.

Sometimes I am a burden on my friends.

Two of Pentacles – Hermit – Ten of Wands

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

               LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

………..………………...All three of these Rider Waite Tarot cards are in motion. Two of Pentacles covers just about any motion except going in a straight line. Hermit is being on the Path, on the road, taking a trip, and looking where you are going. Ten of Wands is eventually getting there – it’s hard going, step by step.

Hermit is sensible, realistic, objective. To his left, Two of Pentacles is silly, manic, erratic. To his right, Ten of Wands is overloaded, depressed, and overwhelmed. Now we have contrast.

Hermit and Ten of Wands are both slow-going. Hermit is old; Ten of Wands is tired and overworked.

We make generous use of Hermit’s ancillary (extra) meanings. Hermit is a friend, so Ten of Wands makes that an old (long term) friend; and Two of Pentacles makes that a friend who livens up the depression coming out of Ten of Wands for friend-Hermit.

And Hermit is on a road trip, so Two of Pentacles makes that a winding road, and Ten of Wands makes that a long road – so you have a long winding road.

Hermit is the truth; Two of Pentacles is silly; Ten of Wands is heavy. So the truth can be either silly or heavy. (I like that one.)

Hermit is famous for caring, being devoted, looking out for other people. Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands make that ‘the ridiculous (Two of Pentacles) extreme (Ten of Wands) of that.

Two of Pentacles and Hermit also say ‘friend through ups and downs.’

Ten of Wands bears a burden, which makes ‘a burden on my friends.’

Hermit is a (realistic) perspective, which allows ‘come full circle’ for Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands.

There are more of these. Today’s spread is rich with phrase-makers.

.

.

.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE.

Two of Pentacles Elements of its illustration give Two of Pentacles a broad spectrum of phrases, some of which are contradictory. The contradiction arises, necessarily, no way around it, from the steady controlled rhythm of movement in the foreground (of the juggler’s performance) and the erratic out-of-control tossing waves the ships have to deal with.

Another category of meanings is birthed from the get-up the juggler wears as a costume. Here is where you get silly, ridiculous, and such words.

……

Hermit Hermit is yet another Rider Waite card whose illustration admits of a wide spectrum of otherwise-unrelated words and phrases. You take any part of Hermit’s story and make a Tarot book of it. Hermit’s story is that he is a service monk (doesn’t just contemplate). He is out on a cold mountain path looking for travelers who could use a meal and a bed, and possibly some wise guidance. His clothing indicates he is a doctor. He is an old man. It is night, so Hermit is about traveling overland at night. Hermit is also about ‘he comes to you; he is looking for you’ which is useful in love questions.

Ten of Wands     Ten of Wands you can relate to and intuit many of its applications. He is bent under the weight of the load of boards – overwhelmed, overloaded, slow going, even depressed (the being bent down). What doesn’t show in the picture is that Ten of Wands decided, on purpose, to ‘do it all in one load,’ a common choice we make. Also, that he is expected to make it.

.

.

.

I’m out looking for something, going around in circles for a long time. So long that, now that I’m older, I see the light and get myself on my path. Oh, I’ve had my goofy times, and I’ve had times when my patient friends put up with me. It’s the twists and turns, and it’s the ups and downs that allow you to be that patient older-but-wiser one. We have plenty of silly things to look back on.

Tarot Readings for You for November 13, 2014 Thursday©

GUIDANCE         Oh the tyranny of that bell curve that says the middle ground is always heavily populated, and the extremes are banished downhill! It seems we rock back and forth and end up in the normal zone, over and over. We are entitled to take a goofy break when things have been sane too long, and we are entitled to a sane break when things have been goofy too long. C’est la vie, comme ci, comme ca.

Tarot Readings: A Right to Be Silly (Two of Pentacles and Justice)

When you are tipsy, it’s hard to keep your balance.

In fits and starts, I keep at it until I am sober.

You are always entitled to be a goofball, you know.

I can’t seem to be levelheaded all the time.

It’s a monotonous life that makes sense all the time.

 ……….…………

Tarot Readings: The Hard Part Goes on Forever (Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands)

Just keep on keeping on, and eventually it is the way it should be.

It’s so difficult to always do the right thing.

Takes a lot of effort to get things back on an even keel.

You get through the hard parts of the cycle okay.

Go through whatever trials you have to, to get where you ought to be.

Getting myself where I should be takes a lot of doing, but I keep at it.

Straightening myself out on-again and off-again forever.

I don’t know what I did to deserve this onerous task.

 ……….…………

Tarot Readings: Balance is Inevitable (Ten of Wands and Justice)

Eventually, things get back to normal.

Things go one way and then the other before there’s finally balance.

Rock back and forth as long as you please, you end up in the middle.

 ……….…………

Miscellaneous Tarot Readings:

Always be sometimes honorable.

Realistically, instabilities are going to be with us forever.

Fairness is an extreme phase of the cycle.

The runaround always comes before a justice.

Eventually, you get what you deserve for rocking their boat.

 ……….…………

Tarot Readings: Quirky Justice (Two of Pentacles and Justice)

Keep delaying the legal procedure.

Lawyer takes forever to get back to you.

Justice systems have always been goofy.

Prosecutor gets one continuance after the other.

There’s a ton of loopholes in the law.

.

Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined three pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these three cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

.

………………….………………..

Two of Pentacles – Ten of Wands – Justice

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……………….…………………… Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands both are continuous, in very different ways. For instance, each can translate ‘going through.’ Two of Pentacles goes on forever with ups and downs, and also means goofy and silly things (plus several other side-dishes). Ten of Wands just goes on forever, overburdened, a step at a time, and also means depression. Two of Pentacles is more brief, more quick, whereas Ten of Wands is slow. Two of Pentacles is humorous, Ten of Wands is serious and onerous. So how fitting is it that their stablemate (pun intended) means a balance? Justice is stability, balance, things as they should be. So our story is about how the gyrations eventually come to rest in the middle.

………………………..     Two of Pentacles obviously means a continuing cycle if you know the band that connects the juggler’s objects is the sign for a forever-continuing mathematical process (like the .3333 for one-third’s decimal equivalent number). Juggling is also a continuing movement – and so are the waves pictured behind the juggler. He dances while he juggles, so this Tarot card ends up meaning any repetitive movement – up and down, back and forth, round and round, in and out … whatever. Don’t forget that makes it mean the phrase ‘repetitive movement,’ which can appear in medical inquiries as a cause of symptoms.

Two of Pentacles also is dressed in a getup – even wears a dunce cap – so this Tarot card means any kind of silliness, antics, goofy, instability. Two of Pentacles means a cycle too, or a phase.

………………………..   Ten of Wands will make it through the night, never you mind. He keeps at it. The story of the illustration is that of someone who is carrying it all in one difficult load – overwhelmed and overburdened, dragging on forever in slow progress … but getting there. Ten of Wands describes how hard times feel. Ten of Wands describes going it alone too.

…………..……………     Justice kinda speaks for itself – the scales in one hand and the sword of enforcement upraised in the other. This design calls for stained glass. Besides the obvious legal applications (It is the ‘legal’ of ‘legal divorce’ with a divorce card, for instance – or legal marriage with one of the marriage cards.) Its other meanings are fairly obvious: entitled, a right to, correct, should, ought, supposed to, sane and sanity, balance.

………..…………..   Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands   Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands together are emphatically about an ongoing process, something that goes on forever, interminably even. They each mean that separately. Together, they make some unexpected (neat!) phrases like these: up and down forever; in fits and starts (Two of Pentacles), I keep at it (Ten of Wands);seem to be all the time; keep on keeping on; so difficult to always; so hard to get back; get through the hard parts; takes a lot of doing but I keep at it; on-again off-again forever; eventually get back to; rock back and forth as long as you please; always be sort of, or always be sometimes; instabilities are forever; extreme phase of a cycle; an extreme part of a cycle; keep delaying; takes forever to get back to; always have been goofy; a ton of loopholes. [See the first paragraph of ‘Learn Tarot by Observing’ for more.]………..…………..

………..…………..   Two of Pentacles and Justice Two of Pentacles and Justice express the tediousness, and the ’round and ’round silliness of legal proceedings. (Having been a technical court reporter for decades, I am familiar with this concept!) These two cards in Tarot Verbatim™ also describe how equilibrium is often reached by a back-and-forth between extremes, and this applies to a lot more than sloshing around in the bathtub.……….…………..

……………………   Ten of Wands and Justice   Ten of Wands and Justice say ‘Eventually things get back to normal.’  If there’s such a thing as being too sane, this is it: Ten of Wands is the extreme, and Justice is sanity. These Tarot cards also describe, in Tarot Verbatim™, the long hard road to things being as they should. They also call to mind: The mills of the gods grind slowly, yet they grind exceedingly small – the inexorable march of a lawsuit, or of a concept of fairness held by all of us as it inches into governmental reality. ………………………

It takes forever, it proceeds at a crawl, but eventually Justice triumphs. I would love to believe that, and that is what we are about in today’s sermon … er, message. The boat rocks on forever, but it must eventually stabilize, we are told by Tarot wisdom today. Sanity and sobriety triumph in the end, like any good movie.

Two of Pentacles ……… Two of Pentacles shows us a juggler who can dance while he juggles – quite a feat, yes? Yet he is dressed in a silly costume, and even wears a dunce cap. Two of Pentacles’ song is ‘The Beat Goes On.’ This illustration represents any kind of repetitive movement in any venue, even internally in bodies. It stands for ‘goes on forever,’ in any application, any setting. It describes a runaround eloquently, ya think?

.

Ten of Wands…………. Ten of Wands reminds me of Bob Dylan’s Mr. Tambourine Man … “my boot heel’s weary wandering.” Weary beyond words and still carrying on. You should know that Ten of Wands has decided to to a task in one trip, has taken on extra work, extra poundage, a burden that is overwhelming, and is expected to arrive. This is the overachiever’s burden.

.

Justice ………. Justice is one of the what-you-see-is-what-you-get Tarot cards, what with the balance scales and the swords of enforcement. You have to remember that it stands for the word as well as the concept, so that any phrase with ‘legal’ in it can be introduced by this card – say, Justice and Devil meaning ‘legal obligation’ or ‘legally binding.’ Words like these also belong to this lovely card: sober or sobriety, entitled, a right to, correct, should, ought, supposed to, sane and sanity, balance.

Guidance    Overcoming, often, isn’t one big glorious scene but an unremitting series of the same distasteful routines that add up as you wear each one down.   These skirmishes make us strong piece by piece but that goes unnoticed the same way you don’t see the seedling grow into a tree because you’re there every day.  Today we reverently remember the seedling, bless the seed, and look forward to our big tree self.

Tarot Readings: Handle the Hard Stuff (Two of Pentacles and Strength)

It’s a long drawn-out process dealing with your internal demons.

Handling the same situation over and over is so tiresome.

Do it over and over until you master it.

Keep trying: Eventually you solve the problem.

No one is ever going to rock my boat.

It’s one difficulty after another you overcome.

Since this thing recurs, it will take a while to overcome it.

Keep the constant disruptions down to a roar.

Keep straightening him out until you wear him out.

It’s a gradual process to tame someone that flighty.

Good character pulls you through the worst challenges.

………………….…………………

Tarot Readings: You Are Bigger than Your Burden (Strength and Ten of Wands)

Trifling instances, endlessly repeated, call for prevention.

There’s always gonna be ups and downs for us to deal with.

She continues to have a strong influence.

Have the character to overcome as many times as it takes, as long as it takes.

Whatever you come at me with, it comes back at you, heavy.

She handles each and every one of the worst cases.

Going up against me, you keep trying forever.

There is always going to be interference, every darn time.

When very hard times come around, you just handle it.

The cure is to keep trucking no matter how long it takes.

Prevent one little thing after another from rolling into one big thing.

……..………………………… Two of Pentacles and Ten of Wands These have such similar meanings that they limit our subject matter. They both translate ‘continuing.’ Two of Pentacles is a process, one thing after another, endlessly on and on, ups and downs, routinely. Ten of Wands is it goes on forever, one step at a time, slow progress. Two of Cups is incessant; Ten of Wands is overwhelming. Two of Pentacles is fast repeats; Ten of Wands is dragging on slowly. Together, they describe one thing after another adding up to a weighty matter, and ‘on and on forever.’

……………………. Strength, the remaining card is about handling, dealing with, overcoming, quashing an adversary, and a woman asserting herself effectively.

So our message if very direct and simple. It amounts to ‘Don’t let the bastards wear you down.’ It pictures you finessing whatever challenges come at you as many times as it takes. And it is about having the character to overcome as many times as it takes, as long as it takes.

Two of Pentacles………. Several categories of meanings arise from elements of the illustration here. We mainly make use of the ‘over and over, one after another’ spectrum. We sample the ‘ups and downs’ and the instability meanings too. The ships tossing in the background echo the difficulties Ten of Wands alludes to.

Strength………. The focus of strength is taming the beast (overcoming personal challenges), solving situations, and preventing troublemakers or trouble from being a threat. It shows an assertive woman who can handle anything because she has spiritual strength, represented by the symbol above her head and her white gown with garlands.

Ten of Wands ………. Well, he has too much to do, but he’s doing it. This is about a difficult task, a hard time, doing it all in one load, a gradual, dragged out, uphill climb. It translates ‘forever’ fairly often.
