Tarot Readings for You for January 11, 2015 Sunday©
GUIDANCE Today we proclaim the importance of love in intimate relationships, friendships, business exchanges, and the home for children. The message to have love in these four areas is very clear. Tarot almost echoes the Sermon on the Mount here. Things are going to be cozy between us at home; old friends communicate; one-on-one business deals with people you trust; a safe secure home for children. The underlying idea is to deal with people where the love is mutual even in business.
.

Now, Part Two,
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,
*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings. It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.
*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures. It is what each of the cards, by itself, has to say. It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.
You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.
This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – than a personal reading would give you. Also, pronouns are flexible: If the sentence feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ but you’re a ‘she,’ well, it’s yours.
*ENTER names of any two Rider Waite Tarot cards into the Google search bar, it will give you detailed combined meanings of those!
Two of Wands – Six of Cups – Temperance

………………….
…………
………… Two of Wands is business. Six of Cups is friendship and children, and it means loving too. Temperance is intimate relationship, and it means ‘to deal with another person.’ That is how the message to love everybody around you comes about today. Ingenious. You can’t construct this stuff, you can’t make it up or set it up. We proclaim dealing with people you love and trust not as an ideal but as a way of life. There’s a ‘birds of a feather flock together’ aspect to this – a suggestion that if you don’t have that eye-to-eye contact with another person they aren’t yours … so don’t bring them into your camp.
………………………….. Two of Wands today is in company that narrows his scope. (He doesn’t mind, okay – this is Tarot land.) The picture shows the fella who owns the town pondering how to make some more profit off the landholdings, below, that he is looking at. He holds the globe in his hand: big hint. Today he is: stable; future tense, planning the future; always; business and profitable deals; real estate. See, Six of Cups is the house and home, the neighborhood (safe neighborhood, neighborhood for children), which pulls the ‘real estate’ meaning of Two of Wands away from the ‘real estate mogul, banker, mortgage broker’ arena to the ‘house and home and stable home life’ arena. Two of Wands is security and stability, not just ‘stable.’ The key to expertise in Tarot reading is found in these distinctions that encourage one trunk of a card’s meanings and damper down another trunk of meanings in a given spread. I can’t emphasize enough that you DON’T read card by card when you reach the ‘I know what I’m doing’ level of Tarot. Tarot follows the subconscious filing system which you, as a reader, are assaying to access for your own inner development. (At least, that is Tarot Verbatim’s™ underlying assumption or approach.)
………………………….. Six of Cups shows children outside of an apartment building or estate home. They are dressed for a cold day, but not so cold the flowers are in peril. The boy is giving the girl some flowers in a planter. Kitsch is the art style, which you see in other ‘sweet’ cards like Knight of Cups. Six of Cups is the warm-fuzzies, is the home-sweet-home angle or perspective on life. It is old friends, old memories, the past in a good way, childhood (usually in a good way), children, safe neighborhood. Six of Cups is mellow lovingness without apology. Unashamed acceptance. Warm-fuzzies.
………………………….. Temperance is one of the few cards in which the illustration does not directly give birth to the meanings. Indirectly, it does, though. You see an angel pouring water and wine together, an angel that has a symbol that means healing on his chest. His wings are outstretched (meaning something is being done; this is an operation in progress). He stands in water (consciousness, and specifically mass consciousness). He is radiating mental energy – the rays you see from his head. Okay.
You should know this is one of the cards who owes its place in the deck to the fact that you could get murdered by the church if you did divination because it was of the devil. Most Christian churches feel this way about things like Tarot, to this day. So there was good reason to structure the deck this way at that time.
Temperance in its applications in your spreads in Tarot Verbatim™ is about closeness (blending of water and wine); reciprocating and communicating (the pouring back and forth); an exchange or dealing with mutually (again, the pouring back and forth and the blending); and partnerships, two people acting together as one, which makes it sometimes simply translate ‘our,’ ‘we,’ and ‘us.’ It also makes Temperance translate ‘together’ and ‘we are together on __,’ and ‘joint’ or ‘jointly,’ which can appear in legal readings. It can also say ‘in contact with’ or ‘get in contact with.’ Temperance boils down to intimacy, and that is what to look for first – closeness of some sort – when you see Temperance on your Tarot table.
……….………..
Two of Wands and Six of Cups Two of Wands and Six of Cups combines a sure thing with romance … what’s not to love about that? We will always (Two of Wands) love one another (Six of Cups). Things are going to be (Two of Wands) cozy (Six of Cups) – or things are going to be warm and fuzzy – or things are going to be so loving, so tender. NOW, substitute ‘Things are always’ for ‘Things are going to be’ and it’s even better. You can also say – same cards of course – ‘Things will always be’ – because Two of Wands means all those different future-time phrases. You have a future card, Two of Wands (It means that strongly.) and you have a past card (Also means that strongly), so these two together can say ‘back then and forever.’ Always be with people you can trust (Two of Wands as always, Six of Cups as trust, of course.) A secure home for the children – because Two of Wands is security, and Six of Cups means ‘home’ and ‘children’ and so of course means children at home, or a home for children. Two of Wands means ‘permanent’ so you have ‘a permanent home’ using Six of Cups ‘home’ meaning. And this will always be my home, too. Two of Wands and Six of Cups also scream ‘safe neighborhood,’ because both these cards mean safe, and both refer to real estate as well. x
..
……….………..
Two of Wands and Temperance Two of Wands and Temperance combine ‘we’ and ‘always.’ They also combine ‘we’ and ‘future.’ And they also combine ‘we’ and ‘together’ as well as ‘we’ or ‘us’ and ‘dealing with.’ Two of Wands and Temperance are sort of like potatoes and carrots, the staple ingredients that you can add anything to and have a meal. Temperance means ‘equals’ and ‘mutual’ too, as well as ‘communication’ and ‘intimate.’ Now you can see: We always talk to one another as equals; we have a close stable relationship – which could say ‘we will have’ as well; Buddies in touch with one another – because Temperance is a partnership card, which includes two people acting in concert; My plan is to deal with (whoever) as equals; Relationship ahead, because Two of Wands is future and Temperance’s main meaning is closeness, relationship; A plan to be in touch, because Two of Wands is plan, and Temperance is definitely in touch; I deal with people in business closely, because Two of Wands is business, and Temperance is dealing closely; a mutually profitable business deal, because Temperance is mutual and dealing, and Two of Wands is profit and a business; a real estate transaction because Two of Wands is all about real estate, and Temperance is a transaction or deal; together we provide a secure – because Temperance is ‘together we’ and Two of Wands is an investment and security; We are together on a permanent, because Temperance is ‘we are together on’ and Two of Wands is long term, which certainly includes ‘permanent.’ x
..
………..………..
Six of Cups and Temperance Six of Cups and Temperance are the warmest fuzziest most intimate pair in Tarot Land, because both of these specifically mean both intimate love and the relationship; and both also mean close communication … so you got it all, not just true love but all the trimmings, the side dishes, you would want with that entree. ‘Talk to one another lovingly as equals’ is a good example of what I just said. Six of Cups provides the ‘lovingly’ there, and the remaining phrases sprout from Temperance. An old friend (Six of Cups) is in touch with you (Temperance). Things are cozy (Six of Cups) between us (Temperance). Buddies (Temperance) since we were kids (Six of Cups), which also brings up ‘An old flame gets in touch’ and ‘Your old crush responds’ and ‘You guys (Temperance) are close (Six of Cups). Deal with people you can trust (Temperance, deal with; Six of Cups, trust). This is my home (Six of Cups) and my partner (Temperance). Deal with people closely, one on one: All of these belong to Temperance, and when you add Six of Cups to it, it simply magnifies the good feeling of it.
Since Six of Cups can refer to the past, watch for the relationship being described to be either past, or an old established one. Tender (Six of Cups) communication between us (Temperance). These two cards should be stained glass windows in the temple of our psyche. x..
We are being told that it’s practical, not just idealistic, to deal with people we can trust, communicate with, and understand on a gut (intimate) level, in all areas of life. We expressly say in intimate relationships, in friendships, in business, and in anything to do with home life and kids. That is why I highlighted those words. That is what ‘love’ means here: the coziness of being among friends or with a friend. The concept, the message if you will, is that doing your life this way … is the way to do your life, for everybody. Mutual exchanges are mutual support.

Two of Wands.……. Two of Wands shows the fellow who owns the town atop his castle wall planning more profit for himself: the business mogul, the power person, the money man. When you put him next to Six of Cups, he mellows out because Six of Cups also refers to real estate, but to real estate as home, as home-sweet-home. Today Two of Wands is the stable life; the future; profit (which gets trimmed to ‘mutually profitable deals’ by Temperance); always; planning the future.
.
Six of Cups …………. Six of Cups is one of the Tarot cards in Rider Waite that has several meanings related only by the illustration. These are the cards that you learn later than the others because there is ‘more to them.’ So you have several applications: love; romance; friendship; children; real estate and neighborhood – usually the neighborhood that is safe for kids, or the one you grew up in; the past – especially old friends or old flames, and the past in a nostalgic way; memories; children and childhood; gift, giving or bequeathing; siblings. This card drops into the ‘child support’ theme as well. Note siblings and bequeathing: This card also drops into probate matters.
Six of Cups shows children outside of an apartment building or estate home. They are well-dressed for a cold day. The little boy is giving the little girl flowers (romance, children, gift) in a planter. The art style of the card is kitsch (sentimental), as it is in other ‘sweet’ cards like Knight of Cups.
.
Temperance…………. Temperance joined the Rider Waite deck in its current form in Europe when the Roman Catholic church killed people for doing divination or witchcraft (It made no distinction, as many churches today don’t.) The meanings are not as directly connected to the picture as other cards, and neither is its title, which has to do with diluting wine with water as a form of piety. You would think that dilution is a major meaning. Not for me anyway.
The angel has a symbol on his chest of healing, and so healing is one of Temperance’s meanings. Another card, or the question, usually brings the subject up; Temperance is more a support card for healing, rather than a lead card for it.
Temperance is one of many cards that shows a back-and-forth motion – the water and wine in the cups, of course – that contributes the idea of reciprocating, of communication, of an ongoing process. When you add that to the fact the water and wine are blending, you get intimacy, closeness, and intimate communication. We are in this together; us; the person(s) you are next to; mutual. Intimacy is the core meaning of Temperance. Reciprocating is responding, so Temperance is Lover answering the phone or text or door. Temperance means ‘to deal,’ deal and dealing, and of course ‘mutually __ deal’ – usually mutually profitable but not always. Another card supplies where the underline is: That is what the underlines are for on this site.
The angel stands in water and his head radiates energy (the rays you see). Water is mass consciousness, so you have the idea in Temperance of inputting mass consciousness with some healing or some divine energy. Ace of Cups is very direct about this concept. In Temperance, this meaning is rarely used.
