She is remembering what a burden that house was.

She is so good to people who are depressed.

Ten of Wands

Ten of Wands owns ‘too much.’ Too much time, too weighty, exhausting, slow progress one step at a time (but he makes it). The man strains under a heavy load. Story is: doing it in one load, taking it all on your own shoulders.

Ten of Wands extends to emotionally too much, too. Ten of Wands is being depressed, being sick of it, enduring and putting up with.

Note this can be a very general filler-type card meaning future tenses and time phrases.

Four of Wands

Four of Wands – What you see here is a public display wedding of celebrities of the town. Four of Wands begins with the couple, and goes on to social groups of people all the way up to international level: couple, family, clan (relatives), neighborhood, city, state, county, region, country, world. The other marriage card, Ten of Cups, does pretty much the same thing (not quite as pronounced).

So Four of Wands today is about marriage, house and home because Queen of Cups is the good understanding wife. It mentions family matters once, and mentions organizations (country, company) twice.

Four of Wands is what people belong to.

Queen of Cups

This court card moonlights less than the others: Queen of Cups is usually a person, and the range is narrow there too. Queen of Cups is the nice girl, nice woman, the woman who understands (especially understands her man), and one of her virtues is being loyal. Queen of Cups is associated with: female, knowledge, and wife/his woman. This card sometimes translates as an opinion about something – often stated ‘she thinks.’

However, Queen of Cups does do double duty as the woman who knows all about him, the woman who is figuring something out, the woman with a mind of her own.

Learn Tarot

Now Without The Pictures

This is a domestic and social story, we see at a glance. First thing across the mind-screen is ‘She has been married for a long time.’ Because Four of Wands and Queen of Cups is a married woman. Four of Wands is the stable marriage, Queen of Cups is the loyal wife. Since Four of Wands is also any organization or group of people, and since Queen of Cups (Do you remember Sally Struthers playing Gloria in All in the Family, a/k/a The Archie Bunker Show? – she’s Queen of Cups there.) is loyal, she’s a loyal member of the company. Add Ten of Wands and make it ‘for a long time.’

Now I want to digress, go off-topic, and point out an example of how the Tarot action can be interpreted both ways, which is something to always keep in mind. (Remember the general that asked the oracle what would happen if he invaded Persia, and the oracle answered ‘a great empire will fall’ – but didn’t tell him that was his great empire?) These same cards also say ‘Those people are sick-up-to-here of that virtuous simpleminded dame.’

The next common idea you get from looking at our spread is ‘putting up with these people’ because Ten of Wands there is pretty tired of that load on his shoulders and Four of Wands is a group of people, beginning with the couple and expanding to world-level groups or organizations. Four of Wands is ‘these people’ because it is the leader of the ‘family’ theme as the stable, official, established family, and the ‘marriage cards’ all extend to apply to groups of people in Tarot Verbatim™. (Ten of Cups is the happy family and the good people; Ten of Pentacles in Tarot Verbatim is the dysfunctional family or human group.) Four of Wands can translate simply ‘us’ or ‘them’ at times – watch for that.

So the next thing, and it’s not as obvious, is taking the Four of Wands group theme (bunch of people theme) and applying it to our goodnatured well-intentioned Sally Struthers lady to make ‘nice girls’ (plural number of people), or ‘all the women in the family’ or she’s one of the good people,’ and so on. Four of Wands is about belonging to a category or group of people.

Another obvious theme, combining our three cards in pairs, is Ten of Wands being ‘too much’ (or too anything) and Queen of Cups being the nice lady: The lady is too nice.

Those are the main elements of our stories today, and stories is what we have today.

Tarot Readings for You for March 23, 2013 Saturday(c)

An underlying message here is that the consent of the governed begins with loyal family members. We point out a parallel between accepting Father as head of the family and accepting membership in community, including supporting that community. Community includes a father figure, and the father figure is a federal thing. We also talk about getting money from government as well as paying money to government. That’s our story today.

Emperor

Ace of Pentacles – Four of Wands – Queen of Cups

4 Tarot Readings: Traditional Marriage or Family (Four of Wands and Emperor)

She thinks the world of the old-fashioned man she married.

He supports his house and his wife like a man does.

She knows how rigid Daddy is, and what a perfect family she is a member of.

Her traditional marriage is her most precious asset.

He owns his house, and his wife is loyal – he is set for life.

She and her husband are doing perfectly fine as traditional people.

Her husband’s company is established and profitable.

Nice lady lives with her father, who supports her.

Her father gives his married daughter money.

Their perfect marriage: She thinks of him as the boss.

She thinks to have money by marrying into the ruling class.

Tarot Readings: Company Woman (Four of Wands and Queen of Cups)

The company pays her well and is an established one.

She gets a bonus from the company. It’s a tradition.

She knows she makes the most money with a federal agency.

The founder of the company rewards (her) loyalty.

She thinks up a way the company can get money from government.

She gives the VIP of the company ideas.

Tarot Readings: Government Money (Ace of Pentacles and Emperor)

She understands how government money affects this community.

She has economic theories on people’s and governments’ money.

She keeps track of the money paid to to federal governments.

She knows how to get money for her family from a federal agency.

Tarot Readings: Ideas, Thinking (Queen of Cups)

What the group thinks is the ruler’s main asset.

She is right in her thinking.

She has the right idea regarding a government agency.

Interesting that the same two cards mean both ‘traditional family’ and ‘federal government,’ isn’t it? Four of Wands is family, marriage, any human group from a couple to a nation to ‘people,’ so it even means ‘the masses.’ Emperor is the ultimate authority, the head of a family (or other group), and means old-fashioned or traditional as well.

Getting along with these two, we have Queen of Cups – the traditional woman, the nice lady, and a thinker (or dreamer). She understands and admires her man, she has figured him out. That extends to having figured anything out. She is a loyal person.

Ace of Pentacles, again, is associated with being right, and with money. Ace of Pentacles, money, and Queen of Cups, thinking and pondering and understanding, is economic theory. Ace of Pentacles is being paid or paying. It is success and successful. Put it with Emperor, government, and, by golly, you have government money – paid to or received from, either way.

Ace of Pentacles is associated with being right and with money – money being paid or received. It also means success and successful and The Right Path. The illustration is about the esoteric concept of ‘right-hand path,’ which means evolving, growing, improving and therefore thriving or being successful. F.Y. I., Moon is the left-hand path.

Four of Wands is family, marriage, any human group from a couple to a nation to ‘people,’ so it even means ‘the masses.’ It is about being a member – a member of a family or group. It refers to a group in a good way and is illustrated by a society wedding which is a public occasion and the way new rulers are made. Other cards refer to groups and membership negatively. Four of Wands is also a building or public building or headquarters.

Queen of Cups – the traditional woman, the nice lady, and a thinker (or dreamer). She understands and admires her man, she has figured him out. That extends to having figured anything out, although she also stands in for the naïve type woman, the believer, the dreamer … the blond. She is a loyal person – which is one way to be naive and yet have things figured out. Water snakes around her seat as she stares intently at an artifact.

Emperor is the ultimate authority, the head of a family (or other group), and means old-fashioned or traditional as well. It reflects the federal level of a government or the head of an agency. It also is a rigid, old-fashioned, and/or dictatorial dude, as well as an old (or older) man, or the senior person. Sometimes it means ‘seniority.’

Tarot Readings for You for February 6, 2013 Wednesday(c)

Guidance     It’s all about how we are limited by being a member of one or another group – limited in our thinking.  We censor our own thoughts to keep them within the bounds of our loyalties.  “I’m a fill in the blankand you’re a fill in the blankso we can’t (whatever).”  Ordering your thinking around who instead of considering the concept itself is a way of keeping yourself down. The group we are loyal to doesn’t have to be a defined group, it can just be our own concept of what is allowed or proper or authorized: It’s those ‘lines in the sand’ we are talking about, and most of them are invisible, but we stumble over them nevertheless.

Instructions:

Are YOU here for the first time?  Come in!  People love this place!  Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need.  ‘Guidance’ is a summary of what the cards are generally advising visitors to be aware of that day.  ‘Tarot Readings’ is the actual word for word messages the cards are conveying.  Tarot can come up with a wide variety of sentences (sometimes even completely contradictory sentences!) in a group reading as there is no specific question being asked.  So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Tarot Readings:  Believes in Authority (Queen of Cups + King of Swords)

Tarot Readings:  Family Roles Limit Members (Four of Wands + Eight of Swords)

Tarot Readings:  Can’t Marry (Four of Wands + Eight of Swords)

Tarot Readings:  Believes in Authority (Queen of Cups + King of Swords)

We censor our thinking according to the dictates of whatever we belong to.

She is bound by loyalty to the groups she is a member of, and the leaders.

She knows how cramped life is married to a military man.

She believes in authority, and limits her thinking to the group’s mores.

The leader’s powers are limited by the members’ beliefs.

Being a good loyal member of the Company and its leader keeps you down.

Being a good loyal member of a community and its leaders keeps you down.

Being a good loyal member of the family or clan and its leaders keeps you down.

When you are hide-bound to a culture, you limit even what you think about.

Tarot Readings:  Family Roles Limit Members (Four of Wands + Eight of Swords)

Her man is one of the good people, that’s as far as she thinks.

She knows the limitations of the man she married.

She sees herself as powerless, and him as a strong man who is the head of the family.

She dreams of marrying a man just like daddy, which will stymie her.

He is boxed in by the role of being the head of a family and having a wife who sees him that way.

The strong man she dreams of marrying seems impossible.

He can’t marry her, she is too simple-minded for a real man.

He and his wife, for the sake of their family, keep to the traditional roles of the goodhearted loyal wife and the man who is the authority.

She thinks within the box, she sees him as the ‘leader of the pack.’

Tarot Readings:  Can’t Marry (Four of Wands + Eight of Swords)

She misses having a man around the house now that he is dead.

She feels the manly man she dreams of would not marry her.

He has the discipline to limit himself to the lady he is married to.

He is the leader of the pack, the man no woman can have.

A man she dreams of will be a man she can’t have, a married man.

She dreams of men who won’t marry her.

She knows he is off-limits because he is affiliated with ‘that’ group/family.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

The first glance at these four cards, in the order they are pictured, says “Marriage.  Can’t.  Sweet loyal wife; she dreams or thinks of Her Man.  Man of steel.”  Lots of stories, putting those together!

Having Eight of Swords, the ‘can’t’ up there, is the brake on the stories you can make of those four concepts.  It reads ‘impossible,’ and ‘stymie’ and ‘boxed in,’ things like that.

The card that means ‘marriage’ up there (Four of Wands) also refers to membership in any group, from a couple to a country to a world or race or whatever.

And Queen of Cups is the loyal one, and the one who is thinking about something (often her man).  This immediately attracts the ‘limitations’ meaning of Eight of Swords, making such phrases as ‘thinking in the box.’  (See how Tarot Verbatim works?  Isn’t this fun?)

Lastly, we have the manly man, the man of discipline (Clark Kent, John Wayne), the leader, the military man (or the military itself), or the dictator.  Put him next to Four of Wands and he is immediately the head of the family or the leader of the pack, or even the head of a country.

You keep going back to, even stumbling over, Eight of Swords’ brake on the stories.  So our theme for the day is how we are limited by being a member of one or another group – limited in our thinking.  We censor our own thoughts to keep them within the bounds of our loyalties.  “I’m a fill in the blankand you’re a fill in the blankso we can’t (whatever).”  Ordering your thinking around who instead of considering the concept itself is a way of keeping yourself down. The group we are loyal to doesn’t have to be a defined group, it can just be our own concept of what is allowed or proper or authorized: It’s those ‘lines in the sand’ we are talking about, and most of them are invisible.  We stumble over them, nevertheless.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

Four of Wands   is about membership in a group, the members of a group, and being a (whatever the group is about) – identifying with the tribe.  It means marriage —  The illustration is a wedding of scions of society — but membership begins with the couple and extends to a community, region, country, world, race … whatever. Four of Wands is the basis of the ‘us versus them’ that drives human affairs.

Eight of Swords   stands tied up … kind of loosely … in a swamp surrounded by weapons stuck in the ground.  This illustrates feeling we are helpless, that ‘our hands are tied.’  (Or, of course, claiming that.)  It refers to any kind of limitation.  It often translates ‘can’t’ or ‘unable’ or ‘impossible,’ as well as ‘stymie’ and ‘boxed in.’  It is the actual death card in Tarot Verbatim(TM).  It comes up for disability of various kinds.

Queen of Cups    is the believer, the goodhearted loyalist who has faith in (whatever).  Here, she stares at a funky device of some sort while water floods around her seat.  She is blond.  (Reminds me of Eric Hoffner’s True Believer concept.)  She is a ‘stand by your man’ kind of gal.  She is the sweet kind woman in the family.

King of Swords    is the manly man, the grownup, the man of discipline (Clark Kent, John Wayne), the leader, the military man, the strong man … or the dictator.  He can be militant, of course.  He is the authority; this card in Tarot Verbatim(TM) is not the type to take an unpopular stand.

EXPLANATIONS:

Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.

*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.
*Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.

Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.

Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)

Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.

We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Would you help us with a comment please, if you have not been a regular visitor? Just let us know if the sentences are relevant to you. So far, people say they do apply.

Return to this site often and you can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim(TM) works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Rider Waite Tarot cards with very little effort.

Queen and Knight of Cups are one another’s counterparts, so they are soulmates. Both are sweet-natured, dreamy, very understanding and cooperative. She thinks well of people, and he is the likeable friendly sort.

The other two cards mean ‘will marry’ or being home together continually. They are also a profitable company. Four of Wands also means the good people, the solid people, of the community (and the moneyed ones).

No drama today. We have married bliss, we have the guy and gal who suit one another perfectly, so perfectly they can live together forever.

Four of Wands A wedding of VIP people is a community event, so Four of Wands ends up meaning marriage, family, organization (either civil or governmental), house and home.
Three of Wands looks ahead to good things continuing to come, continuing to happen. Money or income comes in reliably. The future is looking good. The illustration literally says ‘Your ships are coming in.’ The businessman waits as he watches ships coming to him with his profit and/or his merchandise.
Queen of Cups is The Nice Girl. The understanding wife or the woman who understands. She is emotional and impractical quite often: See her stare at a decoration as water snakes around where she sits?

Knight of Cups is the caring man, the likeable best friend, the born salesman that we all would buy just about anything from. He makes the first move: The cup of friendship is in his hand, and he is a very mellow relaxed person. He is the Boyfriend who expresses his love

Did you come here just for your predictions? – If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.

Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .

Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)

Horoscopes are group readings too.

Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)

Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.

Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute.  Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.

The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

He has been thinking only of her for a long time, and not doing anything; and she knows he is like that

Queen of Cups
Knight of Pentacles, Ten of Wands, Four of Swords

Romance Perspective:
He has been thinking only of her for a long time, and not doing anything; and she knows he is like that.
He knows she knows he isn’t responding because it’s too difficult.
She has made up her mind not to respond to him for as long as it takes to get him interested only in her.
He is as obsessed as a man can get, over a woman who has figured out not to do anything herself.
She can see this tough guy isn’t going to be doing anything for a long time.
He is determined to wait as long as he possibly can; he knows she is loyal and thinks only of him.

Her man hasn’t done a thing in a long time, and this other guy is really interested in her, she can see that.
He knows how tired this sweet gal  is of sleeping alone.
He knows she is ‘the kind you marry’ and there isn’t going to be any action for a long time.
She knows it is very important for him to catch up on his sleep.
He is determined to wait a long time to have anything to do with the sweet kind of gal you marry.

At one end is a guy with one thing on his mind, Knight of Pentacles.  At the other end is a woman who is also thinking of him, Queen of Cups.  In the middle are two cards which say ain’t nothing happening, just waiting.  (I guess that’s why the girl is on the town, up there in our first spread.)

Advice seems to suggest the gal – yes – go out if she wants some romance.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Knight of Pentacles: This sturdy dude has one thing on his mind.  Today it is the gal.  He is very macho and muscled, and so is his horse.

Ten of Wands: A long slow plodding difficult wait, it is.  He is loaded down with too much of the same thing.  He has taken on the whole load all at once and is not making much progress.

Four of Swords: Just lying there.  Not doing anything.  Waiting around.  Sleeping.  A guy isn’t calling you, isn’t coming around, isn’t doing a thing.  Lying on a stone coffin, yet.

Queen of Cups: Queen of Cups:  She thinks of her man.  She has faith in him.  She is the naïve type, the naif.  She is ‘vanilla.’  She stares dreamily at the funky artifact.
