GUIDANCE There are those times when you have to make up your mind about something, categorize something, before you know anything (or know much) about it. We look at the speculative frame of mind these situations put us in today. It boils down to “What am I looking at here? What am I seeing?” We are forming a hypothesis.

My friend is funny in the head.
I think the doctor is a dummy.
Look at the humorous side of who you are.
Taking a good look at what a mess we are.
Looking for my truth … where oh where is it?
Realistically, I doubt whatever I think I know.
I can’t believe this is real, and I’m looking at it.
Even when we’re old, we don’t know who we are.
That goofball is thinking of coming to you sincerely.
.
Tarot Readings: Hermit and Page of Pentacles
… .. … ..
Now that you’re sober … what?
If you are honest, you are weird.
I look at myself and laugh out loud.
I am a seeker which means I don’t know.
I see how it’s true but it makes no sense.
You consider that person a friend, don’t you?
It feels weird when you think about wising up.
As bizarre as it seems, I intend to go straight.
When you sober up, you see how goofy you were.
Take a good look, really look at it, and you won’t take it seriously.
When you know so much you are wise, you are never sure of anything.

You think it’s funny you got old.
We think it’s funny but it’s a fact.
Why do you think he is a good man?
Okay, I’m a dummy but I’m wising up.
I think I’m funny-looking now that I’m old.
People think you’re funny when you’re truthful.
Have a sense of humor to see things as they are.
You don’t understand things if you think honestly.
I’m so confused, but I have a friend who thinks straight.

Hermit – Hermit is one of those cards whose illustration contributes many otherwise-unrelated words and phrases for you. Today we use nine categories effortlessly for Hermit. Here’s the story in the illustration that gives rise to all these applications: Hermit is a service monk who goes out with a light at night in the cold mountain terrain looking for travelers on the road who could use a warm bed, warm meal, and good supportive conversation (or wise advice, or guidance). Hermit is a good man, an old person, a religious and spiritual person, and he comes to the other person (Your boyfriend shows up). He seeks to sincerely help, so he is your friend … and is a seeker, and is looking for something (which could refer to your lost object).
.
Hermit is also a doctor (indicated by what he is wearing, especially the head covering). He can be a paramedic because he comes to the other person and is even looking for those in need. He will even appear at times with Chariot, which ensures the paramedic meaning because Chariot becomes the ambulance. Watch for him to appear with Six of Pentacles, making that card the medicines or the treatments that are prescribed by said doctor or healer.
.
Hermit sees realistically, objectively. So the Hermit card will talk about being truthful, truth, fact, looking at things as they are, and even being a witness. Sometimes Hermit is demonstrating something – instructing or training someone by showing him or her. For example, Hermit is a guide (of any sort).
.
This is the card for one of those organized searches for a person who is missing.
.
And here’s the nine categories Hermit’s words fall into for today:
[FRIEND]
my friend
a friend
[DOCTOR, HEALER]
the doctor
[LOOK, OBSERVE]
look at
taking a good look at
look at
looking for
I look at
really look at it
see things as they are
[FACT, TRUTH, REAL]
realistically,
this is real
it’s a fact
truthful
it’s true
[OLD MAN, OLD PERSON]
even when we’re old,
you got old
now that I’m old
[COMES TO THE OTHER PERSON]
coming to you sincerely
[GOOD MAN, SOBER, HONEST, GO STRAIGHT]
sober
honest
to go straight
sober up
honestly
a good man
[SEEK, SEEKER]
seeker
[WISE, WISDOM, WISE UP]
wising up
you are wise
.
Page of Cups – One of the ‘Duh’ cards is Page of Cups. He says “Huh?” a lot.
.
There are four main categories to Mr. Page of Cups. The most obvious is the strange, bizarre, funny-looking and goofy side of him – because, dressed in a woman’s garb and carrying a fish in a cup, well, he’s weird, and he’s a mess. And those words rightfully belong to him.
.
Page of Cups can indicate something is a joke. Remember that, as the first Self card in a Celtic Cross spread, Page of Cups can be telling you, the reader, “This is outlandish but it’s true nevertheless.” Page of Cups will translate words like it does today: funny, humorous, laugh out loud, sense of humor.
.
Another thing to look for and to keep in mind regarding our Mr. Page of Cups is that he is a walking question mark. This is one of the cards that can form your sentence, and in his case, the form is a question. He translates questioning words like: What? Why? Don’t you? Where?
.
It’s logical, then, that Page of Cups has a list of phrases that boil down to “I don’t know.” Here’s a list of those today, so you can see how flexible this list is:
I doubt whatever
I can’t believe this
we don’t know
which means I don’t know
but it makes no sense
you don’t understand
I’m so confused
and you won’t take it seriously
you are never sure of anything
.
Page of Pentacles – A young person is thinking. He intends to fit into his world, and is deciding who he is and who he is to be: so he is pensive. This ‘think’ category is the main one for Mr. Page of Pentacles, Jr.
.
His second category is the identity one. This is where the pronouns come in, and the pronouns combined with auxiliary verbs. So Page of Pentacles means: I, you, me, myself, himself, him, we – and occasionally some female pronouns. Quite often, though, Page of Pentacles comes equipped with his own verb. Today we have: who you are, we are, who we are, you’re and you are, I am a, and even ‘I think I’m.’
.
Page of Pentacles, like Hermit, is looking – observing, watching, seeing, and seeing how. He can say ‘gaze’ and even ‘stare,’ of course. Knight of Pentacles is also doing all these same things, with more energy and more focus than Page of Pentacles, and he is a different kind of person.
.
Sometimes Page of Pentacles will translate ‘intend’ because of the thinking theme – and it fits into a ‘I think I’m going to’ mold.
.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..
. ….. . .
All three of our Tarot cards today are thinking. Hermit is wise and gives advice. He is an elderly monk who has been there and done that in the field. Page of Cups wonders and is confused. He’s garbed up in a dress and carries a fish in a cup like that log-carrying lady from Twin Peaks. Page of Pentacles is looking at things and thinking about them. He is a young fellow, a student … a student of life, today. So Page of Cups doesn’t know, Hermit knows, and Page of Pentacles thinks about it and considers. Can you see Hermit and Page of Cups as the straight man and the comedian?
.
The old man, Hermit, is wise; Page of Cups is a fool of some sort. Hermit is old, and Page of Cups (especially with some help from the ‘ appearance’ side of Page of Pentacles’ meanings) is funny-looking. This brings up how we look funny to ourselves when we get old.
.
Hermit is old; Page of Pentacles is young.
.
Hermit and Page of Pentacles are both taking a good look, and Page of Cups doesn’t know, is weird, and is the funny side. Take a good enough look, and you don’t take it seriously.
.
Hermit is looking at things too. So we have two cards ( Hermit and Page of Pentacles) that are observing or taking a good look, and between them is ‘ duh, I dunno, this is weird, ha-ha’ from Page of Cups. That’s exactly what we are talking about, of course.
.
The upshot of our message here is: Hey, just because it’s a fact doesn’t have to mean it makes sense. Something what’s true or factual is also ridiculous. We are inviting ourselves to take a good look around us and not believe anything dogmatically but to keep such an open mind our sense of humor metastasizes.
. ….. ..
.
.
AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:
He is a young fellow, a student … a student of life, today.
.
The old man, Hermit, is wise; Page of Cups is a fool of some sort. Hermit is old, and Page of Cups (especially with some help from the ‘appearance’ side of Page of Pentacles’ meanings) is funny-looking. This brings up how we look funny to ourselves when we get old. Can you see Hermit and Page of Cups as the straight man and the comedian?
.
Hermit is old; Page of Pentacles is young.
.
Hermit and Page of Pentacles are both taking a good look, and Page of Cups doesn’t know, is weird, and is the funny side. In this spread, he can be what they are taking a good look at. Take a good enough look, and you don’t take it seriously.
.
Hermit is looking at things too. So we have two cards that are observing or taking a good look, and between them is ‘duh, I dunno, this is weird, ha-ha’ from Page of Cups. That’s exactly what we are talking about, of course.
.
Remember that Page of Pentacles doesn’t have much meaning – often. He gets lost in your sentence as a pronoun – even as a pronoun that is an echo of another card. Page of Cups is ‘funny in she head,’ and Page of Pentacles echoes the ‘head.’ Any card that, in your sentence or intrinsically, suggests a pronoun can make our Page of Pentacles redundant because he will translate as the same pronoun and be invisible. Page of Pentacles is an identity card, and they tend to translate as pronouns. Today Page of Pentacles ALSO echoes the ‘see’ category of meanings of Hermit because both of them are looking.
.
The upshot of our message here is: Hey, just because it’s a fact doesn’t have to mean it makes sense. Something that’s true or factual is also ridiculous. We are inviting ourselves to take a good look around us and not believe anything dogmatically but to keep such an open mind our sense of humor metastasizes.
. ….. . .
.
.
.
.
I thought I knew what was going on. I really did. I’ve been there and done that in the field, and I thought I saw it all. But what the heck is this? What am I looking at? What am I going to do with this and where do I fit into it … if I do. Maybe I’m the misfit, and maybe what I’m looking at is just bizarre and makes no sense to anyone at all – not just to me.

GUIDANCE We are looking for our lost shaker of salt here. We don’t know whether we’re on the right, or the wrong, track. We could be a sinner in search of we-know-not what. We could be sobering up and wondering what awful scene we were in. We could have been prescribed the wrong meds. We could have done wrong when we knew to do right. Maybe we are looking for the guilty party. We could even be shaking our heads at our foolish friend’s blunder, wondering why some old person is hateful, or taking a good look at some twisted weirdo. It’s so difficult for a dummy like me to wise up! Today our stores come complete with question marks.

Tarot Readings: Taking a Good Look at a Bad Scene (Moon and Hermit)
Sometimes when you’re lost you’re on the right track.
How can I be so wrong when I know so much?
How could I go so wrong when I was looking where I was going?
You feel silly when you have gone the wrong way, and you find the right way.
You go straight, and you see how stupid the drug made you.
Now that you’ve sobered up, you wonder just how messed-up you were.
We just assume we know right from wrong, don’t we?
Lies are masquerading as facts here.
When you’re fucked-up, you can’t believe what’s real.
Whether it’s right or whether it’s wrong, it doesn’t make sense.
Feeling condemned and wondering about a religious path.
Wiser now, I look back at the mess I was.
…..…..
Tarot Readings: Whaddya Know? (Hermit and Page of Cups)
Take a good look at this twisted weirdo.
I see what a dumb mistake that was.
There’s an investigation, and I think I’m in hot water.
Finding dark humor in the situation.
Why oh why did I offer to help this person in trouble?
My foolish friend, you have gone so wrong.
…..…..
Tarot Readings: Lost and Looking (Moon and Hermit)
I’m looking for something I lost.
So why was I looking in all the wrong places?
Where’s the mistake? – I’m looking for it.
A really weird bad dream has you searching for the meaning.
Where am I? – I’m lost and looking for the way.
Looking for the guilty party, are you?
…..…..
Tarot Readings: How Bad Can It Get? (Moon and Page of Cups)
A study of unreasoning hate.
When the truth is horrible, we doubt it.
What makes a person old and sick?
So difficult for a dummy to wise up.
Unknown hazards on this road at night in winter.
How can you be so calm when things are so wrong?
Why go on foot in such a bad place?
The doctor is an idiot – so very totally wrong.

Now, Part Two,
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,
*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined meanings of the three cards in the pictures in the Tarot Readings. It explains how these cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS is a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.
*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures. It is what each of the cards, by itself, has to say. It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.
You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.
This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – than a personal reading would give you. Also, pronouns are flexible: If the sentence feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ but you’re a ‘she,’ well, it’s yours.
*AND if you write names of any two cards into the Google search bar, it will give you meanings of those!

.……………….………..………..
Moon – Hermit – Page of Cups
.
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
……………………… Hermit makes sense, is wise, is on the right track or path. Moon is wrong. Page of Cups, you wonder. Moon is a lie; Hermit is the truth; Page of Cups doesn’t get it anyway. Right or wrong, it’s weird. Hermit is on the path – the sane and right track – and Moon is the wrong way, is crazy; Page of Cups wonders which is which. How could I go so wrong when I am so right? We find ourselves in a quandary, scratching our heads.
………………………….. Moon has the ‘worst card in the deck’ reputation, and that’s across decks. To me, Moon has too much ‘redeeming social value’ to be that pornographic, you know? I would rather see Moon than Seven or Ten of Swords, any day. Moon’s reputation grows out of its being the road to perdition (hell), evidenced by those two towers which are exactly that in more than one esoteric myth. In a swamp is a crooked road a lobster is embarking upon, flanked by a coyote and dog, natural enemies, palling together: Things are messed up. Moon’s most common word is ‘wrong’ and its synonyms. It means evil and dirty and sordid and perverted and hateful, and all the things you would expect the road to hell to mean. Today, with Hermit as a religious path, and a question mark, it’s a sinner looking for the way. Note that both Hermit and Moon are night scenes, and both are about being on the road. Both Moon and Page of Cups describe a person as a mess.
………………………….. Hermit is on the road, and he is looking, of course, at the road to hell – but he is on the right path, is honest, genuine, and represents the truth and the right way. You could take most of the meanings of each of these cards and pair them as diametrical opposites. You have right and wrong with Hermit and Moon, so you have stories – especially with the other card being open to question. Both Hermit and Moon are night scenes, and both are about a road.
………………………….. Page of Cups is a ‘Duh’ card, meaning he wonders and ponders. Page of Cups means goofy, silly, awkward, weird or a weirdo. And Page of Cups is a walking breathing question mark. He means doubt as today he is juxtaposed between being right (on the right track or path, the spiritual path) and being wrong (on the wrong track or path, the evil way or road to hell). Both Moon and Page of Cups describe a person as a mess.
Brainstorm here: Got an idea to put the full sentences, with the names of the cards that supply each phrase, instead of three sets that identify a pair of cards’ meanings – because then you have the whole thing, instead of parts with blanks. The two-card phrases are already over there in their own bin. Let me know how this works for you. (I keep improving this blog as time goes by. I look at its humble beginnings and marvel.) So here you go:

Times in everyone’s life of being marooned in a masquerade, of even being stuck in stupid as we wonder which end is up because we didn’t read the labels. Hope this has happened to you already. Can’t tell right from wrong. Feel lost when we are on the right track, or feel we are on the right track when we are lost. Where oh where are the road signs, if we can even read? At such times, we long for the hindsight of 20/20 retrospect as our foresight and our insight fail us.

Moon ……….. Things go wrong, things go kerflooey … or maybe we just thought they did, and it turned out it was we ourselves who were upside-down and the world was sober after all. Don’t you hate that? Moon pictures those delusional and illusional times. Moon is the meanderings of lost souls. It is the wrong path as Ace of Pentacles is the right path. Moon means wrong – its most common translate, along with ‘mistake.’ The towers in it are of ill repute as markers of the entrance to hell at the ends of the earth in more than one myth. Remember, the ends of the earth were once very real. Moon is fear and hate and sickness and insanity … anything you don’t want to experience. It has some lighter applications too, but not today, so we won’t go into them.
.
Hermit…………. Hermit is searching, but he is wise already as to both the facts and the truth – and that is wise indeed! He is a monk and a doctor, which brings him a lot of applications we don’t use much today. Today he is all about being on the right path and looking for something. Hermit is famous for being helpful, being a friend, being monogamous or celibate, being sober and calm.
.
Page of Cups …………. Page of Cups, I dunno, it makes you wonder, what’s up anyway? Your awkward moments when you don’t know how to act, what to say, are Page of Cups moments. Those times when you question everything are another kind of Page of Cups moment. Those times when the situation is one big question mark. Page of Cups instructs you to put your spread into question form, very commonly.
