Tarot Verbatim
Guidance RE-DOING AND RE-CYCLING THE PAST: The past is a fact, but we can rework it as raw material without being delusional. We can recycle the parts that we no longer have use for, and polish or even reinterpret the best parts we would like to feature. Handling the past in three piles: the parts we take with us as a foundation as we head for the future; the parts we redact (black out); the parts we are stuck with, wishing to God things had been different: We can plan what use we make of the parts this way. (Now, the part we make a foundation of for the future is either what we acquired because we were looking where we were going, or what we acquired because we wised up after running into the tree.) What we pursue on a daily basis right now is making us a good or a regrettable past. The messages are also about turning financial bad times around.

Now, Part Two,
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,
*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here. It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages. HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL SIX 2-CARD COMBINATIONSis a stream-of-consciousness bridge to your subconscious if you use it regularly – people report.
*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures. It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say. It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.
You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.
This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.
Five of Cups
Hierophant – Knight of Wands – Two of Wands
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
.
Hierophant and Two of Wands Hierophant and Two of Wands complement one another intricately along the lines of meaning ‘a sure thing.’ Hierophant means respectable, official, conservative; Two of Wands means security, financial security and financial control. It is a plan, an outlook, a projection, and long term.
Hierophant and Two of Wands Hierophant is religion (or church); Two of Wands is the bank (or financier, or the man who owns the town). Hierophant is respectability, and Two of Wands is stability.
Two of Wands and Five of Cups Two of Wands is the good future; Five of Cups is the sad past. A projected loss for a budget, they say, or ‘going to lose.’ They also speak of lost stability and a sad future.
Knight of Wands and Five of Cups Knight of Wands is in a hurry, getting places, pursuing or running away, making (fast) progress. Put him next to certain cards and in Tarot Verbatim™ he is ‘headed for’ maybe something that isn’t progress at all. Here, Knight of Wands and Five of Cups are ‘headed for a loss’ or getting away from a loss as fast as they can.
Five of Cups is a loss, the sad past, regret, being sorry, mourning and not seeing the future because of the effect or haze of the past: being haunted. With the spilled wine, it also speaks of a drinking problem as well as turning one’s back on drinking (the remaining cups).
Our story, when put together, is about handling the past: whether we leave it behind and head for the future, whether we are stuck wishing to God things had been different, or whether we make a foundation of it for a better future (either because we have been looking where we are going, or because we wised up after running into the tree). It is about turning financial bad times around.

Hierophant is the official story, the official title, the official name (as on the title) the respectable face of things, the physical aspect, the protocol or routine or ordinary way, average, middle, mainstream, clean or cleaned up. It is ‘should’ a lot. Decent, harmless, good, safe, all right, usual, okay. The illustration shows the pope and assistants doing an official ceremony, which is what they usually do.
Knight of Wands mainly is speed. In a hurry, moving out, fast progress, getting out of Dodge, rush job, runs, hot pursuit, getting to, heading on a course. You see him with his nervous horse, looking panicky himself (in my opinion), the wind whipping his clothes as he goes.
Two of Wands There stands the banker, the man who owns the town, with the globe in his hands (a bit of humor from Pamela Coleman Smith, the artist?) on the roof of his castle, planning how he is going to make even more money from that real estate. Financial security, financial planning, real estate, secure future, the future (often contributing simply ‘will’ or ‘will be’). The plan. Strangely, this card never shows up for that rich man women want as the boyfriend.
Five of Cups is a loss, being the loser, failure and fail, being broke, the sad past, bad times and bad scenes, to repent, regret, being sorry, mourning and not seeing the future because of the effect or haze of the past: being haunted. It means sadness and disappointment. A black-robed bent figure gazes at spilled wine, his back to remaining full cups. Sky is gray. (The red and green colors coming from the cups invite the subject of losing body fluids.) With the spilled wine, it also speaks of a drinking problem as well as turning one’s back on drinking (the remaining cups). It refers to something that cost you dearly. It refers to sickness

Four Card Spreads, Guidance, Tarot Readings for You
Guidance What we are talking about here are things like how a setback can be lucky, how being a nice person who makes fast progress engenders hostility, how a place where money is made fast is usually a hostile place, how a divorce can be an opportunity for a nice normal life, even how getting fired (or almost fired) can turn out to be a windfall. We could call today Unintended Consequences.
Instructions: Are YOU here for the first time? Come in! People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.

Huh? What are these guys doing together? That is my first, and my continuing, impression of this foursome.
Knight of Wands is the fellow in a hurry, who can be a hotshot or even punk type, and he also means ‘fast progress.’ ‘Movin’ on up. Speeding.
And Wheel of Fortune, of course, is hitting the jackpot, and taking a chance of any kind. So we have a ‘get rich quick’ thing going on with these two. Wheel of Fortune is good luck, lucking out, etc.
Three of Swords is hostility, a hostile atmosphere or attitude, and is divorce or separation of any kind. It also covers rejecting (anything). Three of Swords is also pain, injury, heart trouble of any kind, hurt and hurting (physical or not).
Hierophant is the usual, expected, normal, accepted circumstance. Hierophant, as the pope, represents Establishment perspective, what you’re supposed to believe. It represents the shouldness of it all.

Knight of Wands is the fellow in a hurry, who can be a hotshot or even punk type, and he also means ‘fast progress.’ ‘Movin’ on up. Speeding. You see a knight whose horse is nervous (rearing), who has a panicky look, rushing.
Three of Swords is hostility, a hostile atmosphere or attitude, and is divorce or separation of any kind. It also covers rejecting (anything). Three of Swords is also pain, injury, heart trouble of any kind, hurt and hurting (physical or not). Not to mention heartache. The three blades through the heart, with storm clouds behind, says all that quite well.
Wheel of Fortune, of course, is hitting the jackpot, and taking a chance of any kind. So we have a ‘get rich quick’ thing going on. Wheel of Fortune is good luck, lucking out, etc. But on a deeper level, it is about karma and destiny … coming into your own … and about miracle. The roulette wheel with all the destiny symbols – even the Name of God is there – says it all.
Hierophant is the usual, expected, normal, accepted circumstance. Hierophant, as the pope, represents Establishment perspective, what you’re supposed to believe. It represents the shouldness of it all. Its message is the surface reality, the news that’s fit to print, the official story.
EXPLANATIONS:
Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.
*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.
*Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.
Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.
Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)
Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.
We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Would you help us with a comment please, if you have not been a regular visitor? Just let us know if the sentences are relevant to you. So far, people say they do apply.
Return to this site often and you can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim(TM) works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Rider Waite Tarot cards with very little effort.

Our Daily Spread, Tarot Verbatim
Knight of Wands Hierophant, Six of Swords, Nine of Pentacles
Business and Other Perspectives: Headed away from bad times and toward normality. Fast progress toward having a life of your own. Things are going to be the way they should be. She is on her way to being independent. Leaving the place of safety behind, getting out and about away from the home front. Is getting away from religion and pursuing her own lifestyle. She travels to another town and isn’t playing it safe anymore. Since he left her and she is single, she isn’t behaving herself anymore. Isn’t the average person anymore, she has it made and is in the fast lane. To get herself ahead in business, a woman puts the rules aside.
Romance Perspectives: He is pursuing an independent minded lady who is long past being the average person. She does her own thing with fast men, has put the rules behind her confidently. She doesn’t need anybody so men pursue her: Things aren’t the way they used to be. Left morality behind and has the good life as a single woman guys chase. She isn’t your average good woman anymore, she is single in the fast lane. She isn’t playing by the rules anymore, he can come to her. He is on his way in life and she has already arrived. Together, they put mundane times behind them. It was hard to get this many interpretations out of this layout. Two of the Tarot cards mean ‘to leave’ in different ways, one means average safe by-the-book things, and the remaining one means pursuit or fast progress. Not much to work with; it means what it means. Advice is that leaving the mindset you are used to behind and being independent is what gets you ahead. Ha! I will add that sentence right now! Done!
Meanings and Illustrations:
Hierophant: This is the nice normal safe moral by-the-rules churchy thing. The priests bow before the pope in his traditional outfit as they have for how many hundreds of years?
Six of Cups: Oh, let’s just get out of this stale environment and make a better life elsewhere. It has to be better, it has been so dismal. These people are refugees escaping from some bad experiences. Nine of Pentacles: Well, doesn’t she have the life? She has money, her own place, and she does whatever she wants in her own sweet time, symbolized by the snail and the falcon, in her vineyard. She has arrived, thank you very much, and doesn’t do you any favors: Mind your own business! Knight of Wands: He too is getting out of town and movin’ on up, making fast progress. See Dick run.
He gives her gifts and money, and worries that he is under her spell
Six of Wands Six of Pentacles, Six of Cups, Nine of Swords
Romantic Perspectives: He gives her gifts and money, and worries that he is under her spell. This is sweet love like the old days when the man paid and worried about keeping up appearances. He finds himself putting his own interests aside and worrying about making his woman’s life sweet, giving her things. She fears he is just pretending when he pays her such sweet romantic attention. He is afraid how he will look giving her all this loving attention. He mistrusts himself and torments himself when he does what he should in a romance. He is spending money on this gal and worries that she isn’t sincere. The sweet young thing deceived him into making her payments, and now he lives to regret this. Business and Other Perspectives: Worry that the payments on the old house are not in your best interest. Making payments when you trust is one thing, but worrisome when you mistrust. Afraid he has been tricked and lulled into putting money into this. Worries about child support being misappropriated. When someone you placed your trust is disloyal, you are hurt. Double crossed an old friend over money and feel so bad about it. Was misled and paid too much for a cute house: Up nights worrying about it. He invested in a sweet li’l gal who was conning him and is heartsick. Well, two similar cards in today’s second spread are the Six of Cups which in Rider Waite Tarot shows a little boy giving a little girl flowers and means trust, and the Six of Wands which in Rider Waite Tarot means deceive or deceit. Two other similar cards here today are the Six of Pentacles and the Six of Cups, both of which mean ‘to give.’ The uninvolved card is (of course) the spoiler card, the dreaded Nine of Swords: up nights crying, worry, nightmare and such. Advice is that when you have already agreed to pay for something that isn’t worth the money, it is too late and all you can do is regret it. This could easily be a warning to pay attention (Six of Pentacles) to the actual, as opposed to the real, value lest you be deceived … and this can apply to more than money; it can apply to giving away your trust (your heart) as well.
Meanings and Illustrations:
Six of Pentacles: He is paying them exactly what they are worth, weighing his coins carefully. A fair price. Six of Cups: He gives her this gift because he loves her, she is so sweet. This is the old fashioned love. This house is so cute I trusted (the realtor?) The atmosphere is so warm and fuzzy I trusted her. Nine of Swords: Oh, the pain! Oh, the grief. Worry, worry, worry, wah, wah wah! Up nights holding my head in regret. Six of Wands: Sneaky Pete here, out to getcha. Things are not what they seem. What is a victory, a win, now, is going to be an insidious liability. You are being had. This guy who is on your side now is out for himself, using you. Even his horse doesn’t trust him!
