GUIDANCE We contrast inaction versus hot-and-heavy fast action in various ways. Some easy parts to our pair of opposites here are: Guys pursue girls; hurry up and wait; wait until the right time and then jump on it; knowing the right time to get the heck out; a sedentary person gets up and gets moving; waiting until it’s high time and run for it. My favorite, though is that you should hurry up and not do it. The spiritual way is the fastest way to get straight. You are an expert when you know the fastest right way. And don’t you do a thing; let the lawyer run with it.

Justice – What you see is what you get with Justice. Besides the obvious legal meanings (court, lawyers, judges, police, hearings, trials, rulings, etc.), Justice means should get straight, the right way – the right anything at all, actually – accurate, makes sense, sober and sane.

Knight of Wands – You see the speed or rush or hurry in his picture. His ‘hurry up’ meanings are to the fore today. The look on his face, and his nervously rearing horse, tells us he is leaving or fleeing, but Knight of Wands often means to pursue. In fact, it’s the card for hot pursuit.
.
Knight of Wands is an ‘on the road’ card. It combines its ‘leaving’ or ‘chasing’ meanings with its speed meanings to come up with phrases like: it’s high time to get up and get out; take it and run with it; comes to you in a rush; get out of the house, get moving; get out in a hurry.
.
Knight of Wands also is driving past (driving past the lady’s house today), is the fastest way, is on the track, is on the fast track. Knight of Wands is fast becoming too. Watch for this card to mean ‘with great energy’ – gung-ho, high motivation.
.

High Priestess – Well, she isn’t as simple as these other cards of today. High Priestess is ‘the feminine principle’ from an esoteric perspective. That means being passive on the physical plane and active on the mental and spiritual, the higher planes. So think: she knows all; she does nothing – which is an exaggeration, of course. (Same exaggeration for Magician, the male principle: He does all and knows nothing.)
.
High Priestess is quiet, is a lady (passive female), stays in one place, is sedentary (secretary, homebody, housebound). All of these are from that ‘feminine principle’ source. High Priestess describes a ‘woman waiting for him to call’ and is also advice, sometimes, for a woman to keep to herself re the boyfriend.
.
High Priestess is knowing and is knowledge. This is the card for ‘expert.’ ‘Knows’ is one of its frequent translates. So she is a data bank; is spiritual knowledge, spiritual expertise – even research itself, and analysis itself.
.
High Priestess, as I said, stays in one place. So she is waiting. I guess this is how she also comes up for ‘the other woman.’ Because she does.

… .. …..
… .
.
Well, you see Justice there as the right way or right thing.
Then you have with great energy in a big hurry, Knight of Wands.
And the third Tarot citizen is to not do at all, just sit there. As you can see, these three (as we had yesterday) are not natural companions.
.
The first thing you think of when you look at these three and know a little Tarot is ‘
He pursues
the lady.’
Knight of Wands chases or pursues;
High Priestess is the lady. You can also see ‘the
right
woman for him’ because
Justice of course means ‘right’ and
High Priestess is the woman or lady.
.
Well, you can also see
hot pursuit by the
police (
Knight of Wands is hot pursuit;
Justice is the police) … except they would be
pursuing
a lady who isn’t moving. So cross that one out. She could be a
female
police officer in
hot pursuit, but that sounds a little lame, ya think? So that one got crossed out too.
.
As a Tarot aficionado, you also see ‘
fast becoming
spiritual,’ with
Knight of Wands fast becoming and
High Priestess being spiritual. ‘
Pursuing
spirituality’ also, of course.
.
You also notice ‘on the
right
track’ with
Justice being right and
Knight of Wands being on the track. Usually he is on the
fast track, of course.
.
Trouble is, other than the obvious ‘
Man pursues the
right
woman,’ you don’t quickly see anything the three cards mean, just some pairs. But, hey, we’re the experts around here, so we came up with twenty-some sentences that do include all three.

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:

.
The first thing you think of when you look at these and know a little Tarot is ‘He pursues the lady.’ Knight of Wands chases or pursues; High Priestess is the lady. You can also see ‘the right woman for him’ because Justice of course means ‘right’ and High Priestess is the woman or lady.
.
Well, you can also see hot pursuit by the police (Knight of Wands is hot pursuit; Justice is the police) … except they would be pursuing a lady who isn’t moving. So cross that one out. She could be a female police officer in hot pursuit, but that sounds a little lame, ya think?
.
As a Tarot aficionado, you also see ‘fast becoming spiritual,’ with Knight of Wands fast becoming and High Priestess being spiritual. ‘Pursuing spirituality’ also, of course.
.
You also notice ‘on the right track’ with Justice being right and Knight of Wands being on the track. Usually he is on the fast track, of course.
.
Trouble is, other than the obvious ‘Man pursues the right woman,’ you don’t quickly see anything the three cards mean, just some pairs. But, hey, we’re the experts around here, so we came up with twenty-some sentences that do include all three.

Guidance To give ourselves the loving home life we deserve after the day’s rat race. If we cannot do that, what hope is there for public life? Today talks about the debris that detours our personal paradise, about getting back to (or getting to) a normal and comfortable life-after-work, about the quality of evenings we share with homefolk. The problems that push aside the life we choose have themselves to be pushed aside the same way we wash dishes. Then we get into nitty-gritty announcements about legal actions and children, and some other miscellanea.

Six of Cups
Justice – Knight of Wands – Eight of Cups
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
Knight of Wands and Eight of Cups Both Knight of Wands and Eight of Cups are leaving, are avoiding, are escaping, are getting out of something. Knight of Wands is pursuing too. Knight of Wands is high speed, rush, a lot of energy, whereas Eight of Cups is taking a detour or shortcut, running off the road, quitting before it’s over. It has an ‘end of one thing, beginning of another’ spectrum to it, and it means to abandon course or to disappear or give up. These two appearing together immediately tell you a big change, a shift, is here.
Eight of Cups and Six of Cups are both about a thing of the past. Eight of Cups is going in a new direction, abandoning the past course. Six of Cups is the good old days, the past in a nostalgic way.
Justice talks about justice matters, police and courts, of course. That is what it is about today. It often (not today) means ‘should.’ ‘Normal’ and balance also belong to Rider Waite Justice.
Six of Cups is sweet life, good old days, children or child, romance, giving a gift or favor. Today it is an old neighborhood, and the ‘juvenile’ of (dreaded) juvenile court.
Today we talk of times past as the glory days, and we talk of getting out of some fix by some glitch. Children and courts are front and center, which is fairly rare.

Justice Well, his meaning is obvious, huh? The sword displayed in one hand and the scales of justice in the other, he sits very upright and keeps a very straight face like judges must. Anything legal, should, balance, normal – those are its main contributions to sentences.

Knight of Wands Energetically flees or pursues and is in a rush. High-speed chase or departure. He carries a club but is wearing armor, and his horse seems clumsy but is flying.

Eight of Cups Fork in the road, detour, run off the road, unexpected departure, premature or aborted, abandon, vanish, quit without notice. A person cannot continue on his journey because of the terrain. There’s a suggestion he will be back on course when the obstacle is passed.

Six of Cups The good old days, the way things used to be. Old friends, old lovers, old memories. Sweetness, love gifts, lovingkindness. Children and romance. Depicted by a little boy giving a little girl flowers in front of a large old-fashioned building. They are dressed old style.

Here is advice to strike while the iron is hot, advice to take advantage of opportunity, to seize the day.
What you really, really want is at hand, under your nose, so reach out and grab onto it. ‘Justice’ says you should and you gotta do this. So, keep your eye peeled for that happy circumstance. From my typing fingers to the ear of God’s executive secretary, the one who keeps his appointment book.
These four Tarot cards have disparate (different from one another) meanings, so the stories they can make are many, and the phrases that arise from pairs of them are diverse and many as well. I guarantee you you can find some I didn’t by taking the phrases arising from single cards and recombining them … which is what Tarot Verbatim is all about.
The four concepts which/who appear here are, in order of appearance: You have to/force or enforce (Ace of Swords), pursue/chase (Knight of Wands), get what you want/to desire (Nine of Cups) and Justice/should/entitlement (Justice). Phrases such as ‘you have to pursue,’ (Ace of Swords with Knight of Wands), ‘law enforcement,’ (Ace of Swords with Justice), ‘pursue what you want’ (Knight of Wands with Nine of Cups), ‘the good life you deserve,’ (Nine of Cups with Justice) arise from these combinations.
Meanings and Illustrations:
Ace of Swords: This Rider Waite Tarot card shows a hand with a weapon in it, a crown of victory over the sword tip. It means phrases like: make him/it/etc., have/has to, got to, win, victory, the one, only, force/weapons, enforced, enforcement, forces him, guaranteed, even ‘certain’ or sure thing.
Knight of Wands: The picture shows a partially-armored fellow brandishing his weapon (a club) as he rides fast through desolate terrain, suggesting going from one town to another. It calls for words such as chase, hurry, pursue/pursue/with great energy/hot pursuit, get moving, move or transfer to another town, running from, fast, comes quickly/quick, leave town in a hurry, hurry up, speed, and go after it.
Nine of Cups: He done et tha’ whole thang. The picture shows a fat rich man who ate and drank to excess and is glad to have done so. It is one of the simple cards with few and reliable meanings that you can use as an anchor card when you put down your spread and are initially figuring out what it is talking about. Phrases it raises are get the __ you want/get what you want, satisfaction, what you desire, the good life, what you wish for, to be well off, a lot of money, you’ve got to have, got all that money, get rich and loves to. Pretty simple, huh?
Justice: I want this card in a stained glass window! Anyone? A sword in one hand and the scales of justice in the other? – I can relate to that. You? Another simple card with few phrases, mainly: should, in the right way, entitled, right, legally, as it should be, law legal, justice, sue and police. It is a weak marriage card.

Don’t let anything rock your world!
World
Queen of Swords, Eight of Pentacles, Seven of Wands
Business Perspective:
No harm comes of you being confronted at work with something you are not comfortable with.
You push yourself to do this work, feeling like complaining … but you act like it doesn’t get to you.
Just put a bubble around yourself and do your routine: Some mouthy dude is going to annoy you.
You ignore a bitch at work who is sooo pushy.
He keeps trying to ‘get to you,’ to make you mad, but ‘you don’t know him.’
Well, there is no romance here! None, nada. That is because the first spread tells you about luv, up there. This one is pretty straightforward. It tells you to keep your cool under pressure, mostly at work, of someone who is very annoying and trying to get a rise out of you. Advice is to act like he isn’t doing that and he isn’t even there.
Meanings and Illustrations:
Queen of Swords: It isn’t fair. She isn’t getting what she deserves, what is fair. As a matter of fact, she is a bitch perhaps, and/or she is pissed perhaps. I like to put “Now would be good” regarding her outstretched hand, the other hand having the weapon at the ready. Today, she is being purposefully annoyed by some fellow who wants to rattle her cage.
Eight of Pentacles: Well, he is working, he is making one of those carvings after another with his hammer and chisel. He is into the groove of his routine, right there in between two Rider Waite Tarot cards that say ‘aggravation and pressure.’
Seven of Wands: Oh, God, spare me! Here come the hypermouth, the pushy s.o.b., the mouthy adolescent, the dude on his soapbox, the disruptor of the peace. He accuses. He wants the keys to the car and he isn’t about to buy the gas. He intends to annoy and anger you or he is not a happy camper.
World: This is advice to put your defenses up and to blithely ignore whatever bad juju the environment offers today. You are the superior person, you do not lower yourself to interact with the ruffian who aims to rock the boat this morning. The World card screams “Don’t let it get to you!” It shows a figure with two wands (“Master of Both Worlds” in occult circles.) who is dancing to her own drummer as a bunch of jokers want to intrude … but she has shut them out, she doesn’t know them.
