Tarot Readings for You for June 30, 2014 Monday(c)

Guidance     Growing up or waking up in an insane environment (your family, the world) is like being the sober one at the shindig: Now you know in your gut what sensible is. Now you know we are all somewhat guilty of the same troubles and could benefit from straightening ourselves out some. That is a balanced view of the unbalanced situation around all of us. You could call it mature, but ‘mature’ is a four-letter word in these juvenile times. (And yes, we get the urge to set those heathens straight too, don’t we? – or we can party with them, full- or part- time.)

.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the four cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenter here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the three cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Justice………. . In Justice, we have sanity, a balanced sober view, things as they should be, being set straight, and the facts or factual perspective. Phrases with ‘should’ and ‘ought to’ belong to Justice. Anything to do with law, lawyers, judges, legal hearings or processes, as well as mere regulatory actions and people, belong to Justice. The scales bring phrases about balance, too.

.

Hanged Man …………. Perspectives of all types, intuition, realization, recognizing, eureka and deja vu experiences, as well as just knowing, belong to Hanged Man. He is also about intense feelings, urges, inspirations of the muse, alternate states of consciousness of any kind, instinctive feelings and knowings, paranormal sensing of any kind. He is about ‘got a feeling.’ Suddenly realizing belong to Hanged Man.
.

Ten of Pentacles……….         Only in Tarot Verbatim™ is Ten of Pentacles as negative as it is. Since this system reflects the illustration, and since Ten of Pentacles clearly depicts a multi-generational family or clan quarrel, it is about people who are, or who have, trouble with other people.  It reflects both the ghetto and the elite cultures. Grandpa sitting on his throne brings in tyranny and messed-up cultures. The family and clan motif brings in mafia and political abuses. It’s a dysfunctional relationship or the pesky neighbors.

Tarot Readings:  Family Politics (Ten of Pentacles)

She demands that everyone in the family deal fairly with others as they should.

The whole family meets to set things to right about their problem with the aggressive female.

You think you should do your part in a family run by an old bitch who makes trouble for us all.

It’s her drive to do her part fair and square that allows the family to victimize her.

Her whining gets us upset with each other, so we meet to straighten things out.

The whole family gives her what she deserves for her martyred troublemaking.

She incites family feuds and feels entitled to settle them.

She is one of those disgruntled entitled people you get to deal with.

Tarot Readings:  Legal Proceedings, Justice for Victim (Justice + Queen of Swords)

This law firm gets settlements for victims.

She is right, they have deprived her of what they owed her fair and square.

They have caused her some trouble; she is now the complainant in a legal proceeding.

She demands justice from the offending Company, and it negotiates a settlement.

She does her part and isn’t paid what she is entitled to as agreed by the dysfunctional Company:  That’s her complaint.

The Company gives the victim what she is entitled to because she has a lawyer.

Tarot Readings: Group Politics About Fairness (Justice + Ten of Pentacles)

Mean woman nags the motley crew to do what they are paid to do and do it right.

Her demands for fair pay cause her trouble in corporate America.

She isn’t getting what was agreed to, the Company violated her rights.

She stirs up trouble in the crew about fair treatment they are entitled to.

Disgruntled people complain when they get what they deserve.

Fair-minded people are at a disadvantage dealing with martyrs.

Tarot Readings: Straighten Out Others’ Problems (Ten of Pentacles + Three of Pentacles)

When you’re in the legal profession, you deal with dysfunctional people’s gripes.

They get together to straighten out her problem with those people.

She’s expecting you to settle all her problems with everyone; she feels entitled to that.

Three of Pentacles

Justice – Ten of Pentacles – Queen of Swords

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

We have two legal cards, a complaining woman or victim or plaintiff, and trouble with or within a group of people.  Our story is about expectations and fairness, for sure.  There’s no other place to go with these four Rider Waite Tarot cards in Tarot Verbatim(TM).  VERY strong theme.

Justice and Three of Pentacles are legal cards.  Justice is obvious.  Three of Pentacles’ illustration is about settling up, about living up to the contract.  It means legal proceedings, negotiations, hearings, settlements.  It also is about meetings, especially of three people, and about getting together – even on a date.  It is a meeting of minds.

Queen of Swords is the ‘bitch card.’  It is your impossible mama, your ex-wife, the woman whose standards you do not meet, whose expectations you do not live up to.  She is also the strong or assertive woman, or the advice to be her.  This card covers being the martyr-from-hell, the put-upon controlling whiner so prevalent (in both genders) in the West these days.  She is about demanding and expecting what she wants and isn’t getting … in any kind of setting, whether the demands and expectations are justified or not.  It can mean ‘long-suffering’ too.

Both Queen of Swords and Ten of Pentacles are disagreeable people and/or people who have some trouble or problem (or who are some trouble or problem.)

Then Ten of Pentacles is the group of people who are feuding, who have a problem, or who are a problem (or all of the above).  This is the dysfunctional bunch of folks, whether they be a family, a faction, a mob, a Company or agency, foreigners, troublesome neighbors – anybody you would think of as those people.

So Queen of Swords can be the strong woman of the family setting everybody straight and making them behave right, or she can be the neurotic malcontent who stirs up trouble and demands her rights as a martyr.  There’s never a doubt, in real life questions, about which it is.

Our topic is the politics of human nature, the clash of Entitlement versus Fairness in the tribal life of human beings (also known as world history?)  You can hear this thunder in all the levels and categories humans inhabit:  personal life, family life, work life, political factions, organizations from neighborhoods to companies to agencies of  assorted levels of governments, and on into the neighborhood squabbles of nations.  The focus is on meetings to settle complaints, and how either the complainers or the accused can be ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’  That is why we have two justice cards today, and one card for the complaint, and one card for the bad guys!

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Justice   obviously covers any legal matter, profession, or proceeding, or legal document.  Quite often, it also stands for police and enforcement matters, including regulatory ones.  It often simply means should, entitled, right, and fairness (as in ‘fair-minded’). We see it mean ‘deserve’ too.  The illustration shows a person who has the scales of justice in one hand, and the sword of enforcement in the other.

Ten of Pentacles     There’s the family quarrel, a generational one, pictured here.  Looks like the elderly lord of the clan expects another offspring from the wife, to me.  He gloats while petting the dogs, and Husband stares into space as Wife, beset upon by current squalling kid, beseeches her spouse futilely.  Ten of Pentacles is the group of people who are feuding, who have a problem, or who are a problem (or all of the above).  This is the dysfunctional bunch of folks, whether they be a family, a faction, a mob, a Company or agency, foreigners, troublesome neighbors – anybody you would think of as those people.

Three of Pentacles    A contractor demonstrates with the blueprint that he has completed the building for his clients and is entitled to his final (largest) draw, settling up with them.  This is a legal card.  It is a legal proceeding of any kind, including negotiation.  It is settlement, a meeting of the minds, an agreement.  It is often a physical meeting of three people, sometimes even an in-person date.  It is about all parties doing their part fair and square, and hence about treating others fairly.

EXPLANATIONS:

Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.

*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.
*Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.

Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.

Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)

Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.

We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Would you help us with a comment please, if you have not been a regular visitor? Just let us know if the sentences are relevant to you. So far, people say they do apply.

Return to this site often and you can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim(TM) works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Rider Waite Tarot cards with very little effort.

JUSTICE

SIX OF CUPS –  TEN OF PENTACLES –  HANGED MAN

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD

First thing you notice here is the first two Rider Waite Tarot citizens.  Six of Cups is children of the family,  and it’s the sweet life,  the good children.  Next is the Ten of Pentacles family and its problems,  including problems with the neighbors,  the clan,  the extended family,  outside influences in general.  This is the theme:  children and family.

The general and intense awareness of Hanged Man is next.  Realization,  recognition,  acknowledgment.  And we close with Justice,  the way things are supposed to be or  ‘should’  or  ‘deserve’  or  ‘entitlement.’

Six of Cups and Justice is about deserving or being entitled to being taken care of, entitled to support.  It also,  literally interpreted,  means  ‘child support.’  In the same breath,  Ten of Pentacles and Justice together mean  ‘family court’  (a/k/a ‘juvenile court’) and  ‘the extended family that feels entitled.’

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS

Six of Cups shows Little Boy giving Little Girl flowers.  It evokes childhood,  the sweet life,  being taken care of,  being a good child,  receiving … as in receiving love,  gifts,  etc.  “I deserve to be loved and taken care of”  is what it says.

Ten of Pentacles says if you are a human,  you are a member of a human family and you are involved in its problems.  Trouble with other people is the human condition.  The clan,  the tribe,  the family,  the community,  even the nation,  are complicating your life.  The illustration is sooo on point:  Grandpa sits on his throne,  the family dogs submitting to his august authority.  Husband stares into space as Wife earnestly addresses him and Kid pulls on her clothes,  squalling.  Oh yeah,  family problems.  Few of us humans escape this scene.

Hanged Man pictures acute awareness,  flashback,  intense feeling,  realizing,  knowingness,  recognizing,  acknowledging,  extrasensory perception,  mindreading,  sensing,  perceiving …  whether conscious or unconscious or the bridge between the two.  Its illustration is not transparent.  The upside-down person represents the feeling you get when your subconscious drops a realization into your real-life experience that is instantly recognizable as the truth.  As in “Oh-comma-shit, he/she is fooling around on me.”  As in  “The government is not what it represents itself to be …  duh.”  As in  “OH NO,  they are going to fire me.”

Justice where the title says it all.  One of the obvious meanings,  yes?  The scales of justice in one hand and the sword of enforcement in the other.  What is deserved,  what ___ is entitled to.  What is right.  Court,  cops,  police,  lawyers …  the justice industry.

Impulsively got legally married just because you wanted to

Nine of Cups
Justice, Ten of Pentacles, Sun

Home Life Perspective:
Have the relationship you want and are entitled to – but it’s complicated – with the spoiled brat.
A home that you really want to escape from, and you deserve to.
Impulsively got legally married just because you wanted to.
I’m entitled to be happy, that is why I am leaving home.
The relatives argue that you should have children because they want a family clan.
Wants to be free but should stay in the bad marriage.

Other Perspectives:
You feel entitled to escape from the culture for the sake of your own satisfaction with yourself.
I deserve to be free from what other people want of me.
The gang thinks I should just want to have fun.
It’s fun to be a member of the band and you should get rich too.

Legal Perspective:
Relatives want legal custody of the child.
Child is removed, legally, from a bad home as you wish.
You get legally free of that house that is in disrepair and are so happy about that.
So pleased with the lawyer that gets you out of trouble.
Wants to be free of the legal troubles with these people.
Wants to go out and have fun, but there’s legal trouble.

Meanings and Illustrations:

The closest we come to a theme here is that both the Sun and Nine of Cups indicate enjoyment of life, but that isn’t the main meaning of either of them.

We begin with Justice, a simple Rider Waite Tarot citizen that means, besides the obvious:  should, entitled, deserve, legal and legally, lawyer.  You put it next to Sun – which means to be free, to have fun, and a child – and you get ‘legal custody of the child.’

Put Justice  next to Nine of Cups, and you should get what you want, because Nine of Cups is ‘you get what you want – another simple Rider Waite Tarot citizen.  You also get what you are entitled to, or get the justice you want.

Put Justice next to the Ten of Pentacles, which means trouble with other people and shows a ‘family discussion’ and you have legal trouble with other people.  You could have a law firm, too:  legal group.

Put Justice next to Sun, and you are entitled to be free, you should be having fun.  Sun shows a young child who has snuck out of the house to play on the pony bareback … with a big flag in one hand and the other waving around in the air.  Take a look at the pony’s ears and the look on its face … speaking of trouble.

Sun with Nine of Cups, you want to be free.  Sun with Ten of Pentacles, you left the bad home, you are free of the trouble.

Advice is you  get what you want and what you are entitled to, you get out of what is troubling you.  You get yourself free of a bad marriage and are satisfied with your lot.  With both ‘your wish is granted’ and ‘free and having fun,’ nothing much bad could be happening here.  Go out and have a good day.

Not being in the real world sometimes serves your purpose

Hierophant
Fool, Two of Pentacles, Chariot

Focused, Conscious Perspective:
Succeed by just doing whatever you are usually doing.
Choose to do whatever people assume is respectable.
Never mind the ups and downs, maintain a steady middle-of-the-road course.
Faith that everything is all right somehow puts you in conscious control.
It’s okay to let yourself be unstable at times if you are a stable person.
‘Everything is just going to turn out all right,’ he decides.
It’s okay to let yourself be unstable at times if you are a stable person.
Forget everything:  Whatever you are into already is going to accomplish your purpose in the world.

Unfocused, Reflexive Perspective:
A mindless reflexive consciousness like when you are driving.
Driving around in circles not knowing where you are going is normal.
Deliberately do repetitive movements until you are not in normal physical consciousness.
Sometimes being oblivious to getting ahead is okay.
Maybe you choose not to be in the accepted world.
He intends to be normal and respectable but sometimes he just isn’t.
Sometimes in the throes of the muse and sometimes focused upon the physical realities.
Just let go and go with the flow and you will make a name for yourself.
Not being in the real world sometimes serves your purpose.

The first two Rider Waite Tarot cards (Fool and Two of Pentacles) refer to being mindless and reflexive, as both refer in different ways to going with the flow and to being unstable, being not in the usual groove of mentality.

The last two (Chariot and Hierophant) refer to the very opposite:  accomplishing physical ambitions by willpower.  Together, these two categories that come together in our current spread compare and contrast when you apply them.  As you can see from the way I have divided our sentences above.  Lovely, say I.

Fool shows a fellow taking a stroll off a cliff with his dog prancing along in the same devil-may-care foo-foo, unknowing, oblivious, not-in-the-real-world consciousness, the optimist who has faith, the person who assumes nothing bad can happen whatever, never mind.  Just dandy.  It also means to not be, to not be present, to not consciously … that sort of thing.

Two of Pentacles is also in reflexive mode:  You are doing whatever the routine is, going in circles with repetitive movements, going with the ups and downs and unstable at times.  ‘Maybe,’ ‘somehow,’ one way or the other and neither/nor are phrases this Rider Waite Tarot card evokes.  Definitely unstable, the opposite of Hierophant’s vibe.

Put these two cards, Fool and Two of Pentacles, together and phrases are produced such as ‘mindless reflexive consciousness,’ ‘in circles not knowing where you are going,’ ‘whatever people assume,’ ‘never mind the ups and downs,’ ‘it’s okay to let yourself be unstable,’ ‘sometimes being oblivious,’ ‘ just let go and go with the flow,’ and ‘not being in the real world sometimes.’

Chariot and Hierophant are very real-world.  Chariot is succeeding in his goal, is getting ahead, accomplishing his purpose, is deliberate and is controlling his circumstances.  He’s got a grip on the two sphinxes that want to go in opposite directions.  They are going his way!

Hierophant is mundane, ordinary, physical, respectable, fit to print, whitewashed, clean nosed, the usual accepted and expected profile.  It is the polar opposite of the Fool.

Now let’s see what happens when we combine card citizens from the two camps.  Let’s take Fool and Chariot.  (Doing all combinations will just be too much, don’t you think?)  Fool-Chariot brings up these examples:  not being ___ serves your purpose; just let go and you make; sometimes focused upon; he intends ___ but sometimes; maybe choose not to be; being oblivious to getting ahead; deliberately not conscious; and driving not knowing.

Advice here is to decide when to just let things happen naturally and when to exert willpower consciously.  Two of Pentacles rocking back and forth seeking a balance between holding on and letting go.  Following your bliss all the way over the cliff is not a good idea, and limiting your scope to ‘getting ahead in the world’ is equally not a good idea.  The Chariot can drive all the way up to the cliff and park:  What a view!
