.……………….………..………..
King of Wands – Knight of Wands – Ten of Cups
.
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
and LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES
.……………….…….. First thing you see here is King of Wands as the married man, the husband, and Ten of Cups as the home life or marriage. Both King of Wands and Ten of Cups say ‘married.’ Remember that King of Wands is the passionate man too, especially when you see chasing (Knight of Wands) and a good love relationship (Ten of Cups).
In between is Knight of Wands who either pursues or flees. Fleeing suits his illustration more, but he is pursuing happiness (Ten of Wands) today, and he is pursuing being happily married today.
King of Wands is the workingman, and Knight of Wands is on the road; Ten of Cups becomes the company then, and also the home that King of Wands drives away from. Watch for King of Wands sometimes telling you a man does have a job or is working.
So we have stories about the home life of a family man.
.
King of Wands………..King of Wands is also the common man, the angry irritated touchy edgy type man, the high-energy fellow. Put some punk card like Five of Swords next to him and you might have a problem-child type guy on your hands, but today Ten of Cups pulls him away from all that: Ten of Cups is normalcy; Ten of Cups is your bliss; Ten of Cups is a good home life, even a good group of people, or indication that a particular person is ‘one of the good people.’
King of Wands is impulsive, uninhibited, passionate, hotheaded and red-blooded madman – even the redneck or macho man – but this card does not come up for recklessness or risky behavior. You need others to say that. (I think of Merle Haggard songs sometimes when I see King of Wands coming around.) King of Wands represents the word ‘passion’ sometimes.
The reason King of Wands has these meanings is that this Rider Waite Tarot card paints him as a redhead and puts not only a salamander pattern but an actual (I’m told) salamander next to him. Back in the day, people believed salamanders breathed fire, and King of Wands is all about the ‘fiery nature’ of the fire signs in astrology.
Knight of Wands…………Knight of Wands echoes the high-energy component of King of Wands’ meanings. He is all about hot pursuit, and he is that man-in-a-hurry, which can be speeding on the road, can be the hotshot on the job, can be making fast progress of any kind, can be rushing to or from anything. Today it’s home. Today, with Ten of Cups, he is in pursuit of happiness (and not ‘getting out of Dodge’).
The rushing and being in a hurry and speeding are Knight of Wands’ main characteristic. You see that in the illustration easily.
.
Ten of Cups………..Ten of Cups is an obvious happy prosperous family in a good neighborhood, so it means the community of good people too. The moral majority type thing. It even shows the one-of-each boy- and girl- child prancing around. The rainbow over the house rubs it in. So this is a happy marriage, a good love relationship, a good home life, and ‘everybody,’ especially everybody who’s respectable. Like Ace of Pentacles, Ten of Cups suggests that good people are prosperous and happy people.
The cards that mean marriage and family also mean community (This Ten of Cups, Four of Wands, and Ten of Pentacles which is the dysfunctional one.). Watch for Ten of Cups to mean someone is ‘one of them,’ is ‘that type of person.’ Ten of Cups is membership, more than the other marriage-family-community cards are.
Here’s a man who is in a hurry to be married and settle down (or who has done so). He wants to be a family man, or he is. He wants to settle down, or he has. He is a worker, an energetic uninhibited impulsive passionate interesting fellow. He probably works with his hands, as in the construction trades. We are all about him today; he is somebody we all know.
.
.
Now we show where each of the phrases in each of the sentences comes from:

It’s an ordinary day, and everybody likes the wild man. He can unite the neighborhood, we say. He is married and has a family but all the gals know him and it’s a decent, respectable scene.

Two of our four Rider Waite Tarot cards are about getting together and being happy, about having a good time, about celebrating; and both of those are also about prosperity.
Ten of Cups is ‘happily ever after,’ the good people, the neighborhood, being married, the family, a fine home, married with children … the American dream, we used to call it.
Three of Cups is the same feeling and the same whiff of prosperity, but not being family. It is camaraderie, having a good times with friends, sharing the labor and the profit of an enterprise, girl friends (either they are all friends, or they are all a fellow’s girl friends).
Hierophant is about normal, ordinary levels of things. It is about the surface fit-to-print decent appearances of anything: the face we show our public, and the respectable version of the story the public is shown. It is the average, accepted, middle of the road (whatever). It also means the ‘holy’ of holy matrimony when modifying a marriage card, and ‘committed’ when modifying a relationship card.
King of Wands is the husband, the married man, the country boy, the ordinary man, the wild or passionate man. He is an outgoing, extroverted fellow. Color him the classic redhead with that temper, which is delineated by the salamander in ancient times because there was this idea that salamanders emitted fire. With all these joyous and acceptable cards around him, he isn’t being some of his rougher meanings today.

Hierophant The pope (Hierophant means pope.) is doing some ritual here in the illustration, and the main meaning is about the difference between what the public is to understand about these doings, and what their real import (to those in the know) is. So Hierophant is about normal, ordinary levels of things.
Ten of Cups Here’s a couple, married with children, conforming to ‘the American dream’ with the house on the golf course, the boy-and-girl children, living happily ever after. A rainbow over their roof. Ten of Cups is about the good people of the community, the good neighborhood, unity, and about being family. It also means plain old happiness, any flavor.
Three of Cups Sharing. Camaraderie, sharing the good time or times. Being out on a date. Sharing in the labor and in the profit of an enterprise, still friends after the proceeds are split. This is about prosperity and happiness. This is about meeting with friends. This is about supporting one another. This is about girlfriends.

EXPLANATIONS:
Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.
*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.
*Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.
Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.
Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)
Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.
We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Would you help us with a comment please, if you have not been a regular visitor? Just let us know if the sentences are relevant to you. So far, people say they do apply.
Return to this site often and you can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim(TM) works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Rider Waite Tarot cards with very little effort.

Four Card Spreads, Our Daily Spread
Advice is about a marriage of people who are very different. People wonder how they stay together. He is the very physical, edgy country boy type and she is the sedentary bookish quiet lady: the bricklayer and the secretary. Nevertheless, they are happy. One sentence sees him as the happily married man from the point of view of the other woman. ================================================================================= Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:
*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. At least one of those sentences has something to say to you. Pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)
The Question for weekdays is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.”
The Question for weekends is stated right on top on those days. Comment or call if you have a suggestion for a question.
(Some days are ‘keep an eye open for’ and some days are ‘green light, go fast.’)
*Go to Advice to apply what those sentences say (in the best way) for you. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.) Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!
==================================================================== King of Wands Seven of Pentacles, Ten of Cups, High Priestess DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. Marriage from Mr.’s Point of View Hmmm, I think I’m going to get married, going to be this lady’s husband. Wonder what it would be like to live with her and be her husband? He ponders how he does have happiness married to this lady. How can this excitable guy be happy married to this gal who is so quiet? How come he has another woman if he is so happily married? Husband wonders about her secrets but they are happily married. He has such a bad temper he wonders whether she is happy living with him. He – the good ole boy – doubts he could live with such a passive secretive sedentary woman. Marriage from Mrs.’ Point of View She is having a happy quiet life, it seems, with her husband. She ponders how she is happily married to her husband. How can that calm lady be happy living with that edgy guy? The lady seems happy living with this low class lout. This seems to be the case of the country boy and the debutante getting hitched. The Couple’s Perspective The other woman figures out he is a married man. ========================================================= MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD In the center is the happy marriage card, Ten of Cups, which also means a good house, a good neighborhood, the couple (and some other things), and above that is the card that represents ‘husband.’ So we have a husband in a happy marriage. To the left is to ponder, to wonder, to doubt, Seven of Pentacles; to the right is the passive lady, the quiet, sedentary, knowledgeable and maybe secretive Lady. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS Seven of Pentacles shows a grower pondering whether his cucumber vines will produce, whether both genders of the plant are in the vicinity. It means to wonder or ponder, ‘it seems,’ and such things. Ten of Cups is the ‘happily ever after’ card which shows a house with a rainbow over it, the embracing couple whose boy- and girl- child prance around on a clear blue-sky day. Its meanings are right there: living together, marriage, house, house in good neighborhood, happiness, happy marriage. High Priestess is the quiet woman who knows all and refrains from acting on it. She sits (sedentary) on something obscured by her robes, with the Kaballah’s signature items behind her, and with the book of wisdom in her lap, the occult cross on a necklace. King of Wands is the husband card, and also the country boy (or redneck if he is being bad), the angry, irritated, edgy common fellow, the redhead. He has a club instead of a sword as his weapon, his left hand is beginning to make a fist, and there’s no smile on that face.
