Tarot Verbatim
Wednesdays will be the day for Email readings, since Wednesday covers only one day (that’s in theory of course). This email reading is split between two relationships Client is interested in. She wants clarification re their perspective on her. We discover two opposite views the two men have: One is confident and the other very much not so.
.
You can have a reading just like this – just check out the Email Readings tab, above. You can also get the combined meanings of any two Tarot cards by typing them into Google, or any one card – but put ‘Tarot Verbatim’ after the single-card search if you want to limit it to just the archives of our site here.
.
UPDATE ON THE LESSONS: Techs have waved the white flag. They need until September to start the lessons, and that’s September 1, the first Friday. I have all my fingers crossed.

The category of life is:: Love
My question is:: I have 2 men in my life right now and I’m confused about who I should choose. I suppose it would help me decide between the two if I knew how they feel about me.
I agree. But this question is off-kilter. I’m sure you don’t want to know how they jointly feel about you. And you haven’t pegged them. So I shall ask Man #1’s view of you, then Man #2’s view of you, and let you take it from there. I used two different decks for this so cards would not be missing from the second question.
Man #1’s view of you, how he feels about you

He is on his way to being your love partner in a committed union/marriage.
He is on his way (pursuing) – Knight of Wands

He knows one thing for sure: – Knight of Pentacles
A happy – Sun
future – Two of Wands
being free – Sun
and that’s a plan. – Two of Wands
*If this fellow is married, ‘taken’ in some way, or lives in another town, Sentence 1 (Four of Wands = home; Knight of Wands = leaving) and Sentence 3 (Two of Wands = for sure; Sun = getting away from the restrictions, being relieved and happy, it’s fun) picture him leaving and having a future with you.

Man #2’s view of you, how he feels about you

………………….…………………… It worked again. Remember I got the idea to specify a Christmas, and a New Year’s Day message to Tarot – and Tarot did? Well, I had already laid out the cards, and I remember that. The other spread will be for tomorrow. It was good but not Valentine’s Day. So I asked Tarot for a Valentine’s Day chat with us, and, guess what? – we got it. He’s got a plan to be happy with the gal his has his eye on. After The Day messages, one about the future follow. So we say a man who is manly and who shares the wealth will be fascinated by a woman who celebrates life with others.
Three of Cups and Two of Wands are prosperity, business and money. Two of Wands means money, wealth and business, as well as a plan and the future. Three of Cups is about profit and sharing it. Knight of Pentacles has one thing on his mind and is ambitious, and Two of Wands is a financial plan. Knight of Pentacles and Two of Wands both mean ‘looking forward to.’ Both Knight of Pentacles and Two of Wands mean a sure thing, too. So on Valentine’s Day, we have a date or party with a happy girl, flanked on either side by a sure thing. Not bad!
………………………….. Knight of Pentacles is the man focused on his priority, the man who is sure of one thing, who has one thing on his mind, who has energy and ambition as his main traits. This is the very physical rough-around-the-edges guy who knows what he wants and succeeds at getting it. What he wants today is that woman he is dating.
………………………….. Three of Cups is about sociable women, dating, sharing, making a profit, celebrating, and camaraderie. The women in the picture are celebrating sharing the profits of their pumpkin patch, each having participated in the labor and expenses of its harvest. They are toasting one another, still friends as the money is split among them. Girlfriends, partying, being young and attractive – all of these are part of the Three of Cups scene.
..…………….…………. Two of Wands is about business, money, a plan, and the future. The property owner surveys his land holdings below with an eye to making more profit. He is a bank, banker, bankster, mortgage holder or mortgage broker, or just the guy who owns the town: See the world in his hand? Two of Wands is a financial plan, financial security, good prospects, the future, long term, and a sure thing.
……….…………. Knight of Pentacles and Three of Cups Knight of Pentacles and Three of Cups Knight of Pentacles and Three of Cups is his idea to share life and good times with the best gal, and this idea is Priority One to him. He has this one thing on his mind: the date with The Girl. He is a strong stubborn manly dude. She is stylish, upbeat, popular, one of the golden girls – the kind of girl whose company is very important to him. Knight of Pentacles is his idea, his plan, his intention – him, the very physical stubborn energetic man. Here are the sentences that belong to this scenario:
HIS IDEA TO CELEBRATE WITH THE GIRL
To go out and celebrate with the girl is Priority One.
One thing is for sure: Him having a good time with the girl.
One thing on his mind: the date.
It’s his idea … him, together with her.

He sees her as a fashionable gal.
He is sure to share his life with a woman who enriches it.
The man’s got a _, and the girl’s number one in it.
He shares life and good times with that girl.
He aims to share his life with his woman.
A strong stubborn manly dude aims to be happy with that woman.
She is so upbeat and popular, she is number one with him.
The company of women is very important to this very macho fellow.
Three of Cups can be the girl, or can be the girls. This sorts itself out – there’s seldom a distinction you have to make. The girl friends, the sharing, the good times, the dating: This is Three of Cups. Knight of Pentacles is the rough-and-tumble guy, the tough guy, the guy who is all attention, the ambitious guy. Here are the sentences about this:
The girl friends get together with the rough-and-tumble guy.
She has a tough guy to share _ with.
She’s got his attention, in a good way.
This ambitious guy you are dating.
Knight of Pentacles, in the company he is in today, is in a pronounced mood to share the wealth, and he also has some wealth to share, at least right now, you know? His ambition is to share with people who share with him.
His _ is paying off handsomely.
He celebrates a fine profit.
Sharing the wealth is uppermost on his mind. x..

Financial plan is paying off handsomely.
A fine profit, and it’s long term too.

Lastly, Two of Wands is any phrase that makes a future, or future tense – like ‘are going to’ and ‘always will’ and ‘will have.’ It also translates the word ‘future.’ Three of Cups is she, her, girl friends, and dating. Here are those sentences:
The girl friends are going to get together.

Knight of Pentacles ……….. Knight of Pentacles is a sturdy, vigorous man. He and his horse are stocky and physically strong, and stubborn. Is that a donkey, anyway? He stares intently at his pentacle, which is where we get ‘one thing on his mind’ – that obsessive focus of his. He can be obsessed; he can be ambitious; he can be a jock. He can be a desirably tough guy, or he can be a punk. Don’t put the brutish or the criminal cards next to him: He is easily influenced by these Tarot-mates.
.
Three of Cups …………. Three of Cups is party time, is the upbeat company of fashionable girls, the girl gang, the girlfriends (or a fellow’s girl friend, or his female friends). Three of Cups is sharing – sharing anything – a scene, the profits, the good feeling, friends; Three of Cups is, in a word, camaraderie – the Three Musketeers, one for all and all for one.
.
Two of Wands ………….Two of Wands is having it made, is you at your pinnacle of success – you have your whole world in your hands. You have a plan. Your success is long term. You future is assured. You have an overview of your situation, and you are (literally here) on top of things. You own your scene (Two of Wands owns the town, the property below him, which he has plans to make even more money with). Today, in a Valentine’s Day message, your love life is assured.

GUIDANCE ‘Look where you’re going,’ mothers say. That is what we are about: To have a plan for where we are going, and to keep that plan in mind as the terrain changes so we can adjust our course and end up where we want to be. Funny how quick changes of plan make for long term security, isn’t it? The contrast between long term and immediate keeps popping up in today’s guidance.

Knight of Pentacles – Two of Wands – Knight of Swords
.
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
.
………………….…………………… All three of our Rider Waite Tarot cards are male, two of them macho (Knight of Pentacles and Knight of Swords, of course). The first thing I see when I look at this spread is the immediate (Knight of Swords) and the long term (Two of Wands). Knight of Pentacles has one thing on his mind and Two of Wands is looking forward and a plan, which suggests a plan is a priority. With Knight of Swords being change, Knight of Pentacles is a change of mind, and Two of Wands is a change of plans. The underlying idea is to pay attention to what is happening (Knight of Pentacles) so you can decide whether to stick with your plan or change it – maybe change it quickly.
………………………….. Knight of Pentacles, we all know him, or at least a stereotype he fits into: the very physical common man whose mind is made up, don’t confuse him with facts that interfere with that perspective. He has his interests, he has his ways, and he’s Popeye: I am who I am. He can be the short stocky dark-haired car mechanic you know. Notice his horse has the same look? He can be the energetic, macho, tough or rough guy, the fellow with muscles, or even the punk or thug. He definitely zeroes in on things. The meanings of this card follow this stereotype: focus, the physical aspect, concentration, one thing on his mind, opinion/opinionated, convinced, obsessed, determined or determination, energy.
………………………….. Two of Wands is a word picture of financial and social security, of ‘having it made.’ A fellow who’s got the world in his hands is a big tip-off to Two of Wands’ meanings. The story is: He owns all the real estate down there, and he is planning on how to make even more money from it in the future. He is a mogul, he has power and influence, is a solid citizen. He may be international in some sense. This Two of Wands card can translate ‘international’ all by itself too. When this card stands for a person, it doesn’t have to be a person with all that money and power; it can be, say, a sensible person, a person who has a plan or good prospects. This card can refer to anything real estate or investment, too – any deal or situation along that line at all.
Cards meaning ‘the future’ often put verbs of nearby Tarot cards into future tense, and translate such terms as ‘will,’ will be,’ ‘to be,’ ‘projected,’ ‘is ahead,’ ‘going to,’ ‘outlook,’ ‘upcoming,’ etc. Two of Wands is one of those cards
Here are the basic meanings of Two of Wands, categorized:
*Planning, the future, outlook, long term, permanent, chronic, foresight, control (‘under control’), stability,
*real estate, investment, banking, mortgage, profit, money, financial, financial planning
*being the mogul or influential citizen, power people.
………………………….. Knight of Swords is mainly about speed and change and suddenness. It is moving fast, whether forward, back, or turning around. Nearby cards identify the direction of the movement. Pursuit is what is pictured: He leans forward, his horse is flying, and his blade is at the ready, held aloft as if about to be utilized.
Examples of phrases for the travel meanings of Knight of Swords are: hot pursuit, commute, go out of my way, exit and entry, the way back, velocity, bypass, running into, come flying back, moving out imminently, zoom out of there, getting out in a hurry, coming back and leaving again, rushes through, coming back unexpectedly, driving fast or going fast, run away from, leaves.
Examples of phrases for the ‘change’ meanings of Knight of Swords are: getting over this, makes a big difference, turning the tide, contradict or contradiction, turns things around immediately, emergency, re-do, unexpected reversal.
Examples of phrases for the ‘suddenness’ meanings of Knight of Swords are: ahead of time, in a flash, a fast one or pull a fast one, immediately, strikes, changeable, unexpectedly, being changeable, out with the old and in with the new, right away, about-face, all of a sudden, brief touch-and-go, run away from, briefly back, suddenly.
……….………….. Knight of Pentacles and Two of Wands Knight of Pentacles and Two of Wands is The Man with the Plan: Knight of Pentacles is mindful of his priority, and Two of Wands is a plan and the future. These two Tarot cards focus on the future, know what the future holds. They read ‘One thing I am looking forward to’ or ‘look forward to the future,’ or even just ‘look forward.’ These two Rider Waite Tarot cards also describe a very physical man who is well off – say, the plumber, the rouster at the oil well.
………..………….. Knight of Pentacles and Knight of Swords Knight of Pentacles and Knight of Swords describe a change of mind, a determination to change or to turn (life?) around, an intention to return. Knight of Pentacles is the mind, the determination, the intention. Knight of Swords is the change, the return or turnaround.
……………………… Two of Wands and Knight of SwordsTwo of Wands and Knight of Swords say ‘I shall return,’ a famous quote. They mean a plan to change or a change of plans as well.
Keep your eye on the prize, or on your goal. Focus on that, have that motivation, and you will arrive at the future ahead of time. We have a picture of a trip – that being mindful is the way to arrive the fastest in the best shape. Turning things around in a hurry requires a plan, and requires being mindful of the plan. A lot of energy goes into getting ahead fast. Today’s message is the basic recipe for success, success being ‘what you have in mind for your future.’

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES
.
Knight of Pentacles……… Since what I wrote in Learn Tarot by Observing applies purely to the meaning of the card itself, I shall quote that here: “Knight of Pentacles, we all know him, or at least a stereotype he fits into: the very physical common man whose mind is made up, don’t confuse him with facts that interfere with that perspective. The meanings of this card follow this stereotype: focus, the physical aspect, concentration, one thing on his mind, opinion/opinionated, convinced, obsessed, determined or determination, energy.”
.
Two of Wands …………. Two of Wands is financial and is the future, and it’s also about the outlook, prognosis or plan. The picture shows the landholder of the town planning how to make more money from the real estate. Often, Two of Wands supplies phrases that refer to the future, or modifies other cards’ meanings to future tense. Two of Wands refers to business, investment, conservative views, Establishment people, solid citizenry, and things international, since the globe is part of the picture. It especially refers to real estate, as does Three of Pentacles.
.
Knight of Swords…………. Knight of Swords leans over his flying horse’s neck, his heavy sword in midair as if about to do business with it (because those are heavy: Even a strong man can’t hold it like that for very long). Although he is clearly in hot pursuit in the illustration, in real life (like Knight of Wands who is clearly fleeing, since he looks shaken up and so does his rearing horse) the movement can apply as coming, leaving, or turning around. Other cards have to tell you where he is heading.
Knight of Swords is about speed, change, and suddenness. It is the card that will come up most often for speeding vehicles, for example. Several meanings apply to the U-turn direction as a reversal of a situation: switching sides, getting over something, reversal of fortune, getting out in a hurry. Some other meanings that apply to the U-turn are about the suddenness: in a flash, a fast one, immediately, right away, unexpected. Most frequent are phrases referring to speed, though: hot pursuit, velocity, come flying back, zoom out of there, getting out in a hurry, rushes through, driving fast. Most often, Knight of Swords means ‘leave’ or ‘leaving.’

Tarot Verbatim
Guidance We study and we plan and we are sure of how to secure our ambition … until a realization out of nowhere changes all that in a hurry. Intuition swoops in at the last minute even when we have made our minds up about what is going to happen. Drop everything and focus that subconscious inspiration upon a plan. Fusing the intuitive with the focused will is a shortcut to optimum destiny. When you have sight of the future logically and intuitively, you detour to the best destination.
Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!
People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day.
‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the four cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.
Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Now, Part Two,
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,
*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here. It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.
*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures. It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say. It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.
You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.
This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.
Two of Wands
Eight of Cups – Hanged Man – Knight of Pentacles
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
.
Hanged Man and Knight of Pentacles are both ideas. Hanged Man is intuitive, subconscious, an inspiration, a realization, to sense or get a feeling or ‘get it.’ It is receiving ideas. Knight of Pentacles is the opposite: conscious thought, concentration (even obsessive or fanatical), to focus instead of to realize. He is sending ideas outward. These two are the left-brain/right-brain difference. Each or both of these cards may appear if you ask a question about telepathy.
Hanged Man and Knight of Pentacles The phrases these two make, even though they both mean ideas, are varied. Here they are: realize (i am) fanatical or obsessed about; subconscious and conscious idea; focus on a subconscious; obsessed with psychism; psychic focuses upon; a hunch after all that deliberation; mind is made up; realize his ambition; you have a gut feeling and are convinced logically too; i sense they are onto my; is certain until (he) realizes; he is sure, and then it hits him; a strong feeling it’s a sure thing; an instinctive idea about your goal; the instinctive idea you have about this; an idea about your goal; goal is realized; you see your goal; gut feeling about your goal is. Can you sense the two minds interacting, in these phrases?
Eight of Cups and Two of Wands There’s a contrast – but less pronounced – in the remaining two Rider Waite Tarot cards too. Eight of Cups is to desist, derail, drop, switch, change. It is the last-minute change, the last minute disruption. Two of Wands is a sure thing, the long range plan, the overview, the long term outlook. These two Rider Waite Tarot cards are the difference between desist and persist.
Eight of Cups and Two of Wands, with their fairly opposite meanings, make these phrases in today’s messages: certainty is derailed; I will drop it; I am going to dismiss this; I am going to drop out; a disruption is coming; change of plans; changes what is (or was) going to happen; certain that getting out will; make a profit by getting out; financial default; a shortcut to optimum destiny, financial plan is not fully; will not be fully; will not finish; will not be met; you see you are not going to get to. Reading these phrases, can you feel the sure thing developing a question mark?
Knight of Pentacles and Two of Wands have something in common too. Knight of Pentacles is sure, certain. Two of Wands is a sure thing. Each of these Rider Waite Tarot cards are about future too. Knight of Pentacles is fixated upon it, and Two of Wands means the future.
Knight of Pentacles and Two of Wands Here are the phrases these two make, with what they have in common: sight of the future, logically; He is sure how to realize his ambition; an ambitious plan; sure it will; are sure of it logically too; (They are) onto my plan; he sees what is going to happen; certain of making a profit; He is sure that it’s a sure thing; the profit he is going to make; (his) financial goal; all you can think about is the financial end of it; focus on the financial reality; idea about the financial future; financial goal; goal about the financial future; financial goal is fully realized or met; will get to (your/his) financial goal. Meanings other than what they have in common create many of these sentences.
Putting the four together for the main message suggests suddenly seeing you are not going in the direction that gets you to your goal, and you turn off, maybe at the last minute? There’s a concentration on that goal being financial.
LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES
.
Eight of Cups is to desist, derail, drop, switch, change. It is the last-minute disruption. The illustration in Rider Waite shows a pedestrian changing direction because the terrain forces it.
Hanged Man is pure subconscious inspiration: the hunch, the eureka experience, the feeling in your bones, the intuitive realization – to sense it, to get a gut feeling, to ‘get it.’ The fellow ‘hung upside-down’ in the illustration (common to just about every self-respecting deck) reproduces the feeling you get when a major realization or vision is coming through.
Knight of Pentacles is consciously concentrating, focusing on a very deliberate goal or ambition or thought, even a fanatical or obsessive one. He is the diametrical opposite of Hanged Man’s kind of thinking. Here we see the short dark intense fellow, the kind who can even be the punk who puts his fists on you. Even his horse is sturdy, intense and dark.
Two of Wands refers to the future, to a plan, to financial security, to a sure thing or certainty. Financial plan is what it often means today. Illustration in Rider Waite shows a financier on his rooftop looking at his real estate empire and planning what to do next with it. He has the world in his hand so I guess he is a globalist.

.
Today’s four Rider Waite citizens have nothing in common, so they are simply elements in stories and observations.
Justice in this spread uses its ‘should’ and fairness meanings, with a sprinkle of ‘sanity’ and a tad of lawsuits.
Knight of Pentacles is his usual tough- or rough- guy self, and he focuses upon or is obsessed about some things here that he aims to … either put an end to (Death) or make it right (Justice).
Two of Wands is a plan, the future, financial security, finances in general, and an overview of things. Its meaning is trimmed back in its present company
Then there’s our negative modifier, Death. That is most of what it does in Tarot Verbatim(TM), where it seldom means some things other decks bequeath it. It puts and end to things and adds words like: no, never, not, don’t, won’t, isn’t, and so on. Today it creates fewer contradictions than usual.

Justice in this spread uses its ‘should’ and fairness meanings, with a sprinkle of ‘sanity’ and a tad of lawsuits. This is one of the most attractive Rider Waite illustrations. The red robe, the purple wall hanging behind it, the scales .. imagine it in stained glass.
Knight of Pentacles is his usual tough- or rough- guy self, and he focuses upon or is obsessed about some things here that he aims to … either put an end to (Death) or make it right (Justice). He is a short sturdy muscular intense dude, and so is the horse he rides in on.
Two of Wands is a plan, the future, financial security, finances in general, and an overview of things. Other meanings are eclipsed today. You see a banker atop his parapet patio, surveying his real estate empire with plans to make more profit. He has the world in his hands.
Here’s our negative modifier, Death. That is most of what it does in Tarot Verbatim(TM), where it seldom means some things other decks bequeath it. It puts and end to things and adds words like: no, never, not, don’t, won’t, isn’t, and so on. Today it creates fewer contradictions than usual.
I N S T R U C T I O N S & Explanations (Comments are below this.)
Did you come here just for your predictions?– If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.
Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on thefour cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ’all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)
Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?
Without a questionto focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a questionalso the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel veryfree to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

Four Card Spreads, Our Daily Spread
Advice examines the process of civilization: Coming together and making a deal or relationship that is in the mutual interest of the parties. It also examines the problem of civilization: the self-interested hell-raising vandal with the big mouth who wants to be in on the deal without participating. So it reads as a heads-up that, in getting your relationship or transaction finished, you will have to deal with a ruffian of some sort. (“Don’t agree to Plan A.”) You will: The deal closes amicably. (At the time of production, there’s no way to correct the lack of spaces after punctuation. I am writing around it now!) Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:
*Go to Advice above which is a summary of the Messages. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)
*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. One or more of those sentences has something to say to you. Intuitively pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Three of Pentacles Seven of Wands – Knight of Pentacles – Two of Wands MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD Seven of Wands and Knight of Pentacles contrast with Two of Wands and Three of Wands. Seven of Wands and Knight of Pentacles are aggressive opinionated (pigheaded) men who can be punk types. Seven of Wands is the mouthy protesting demanding (whining) in-your-face adolescent of any age; Knight of Pentacles is a very physical, strong fella who is focused on one priority or is obsessed. These two make a bad combination, whether they refer to two different men together, or to an individual who both cards describe. Two of Wands and Three of Pentacles, on the other hand, are getting together on a mutual matter that they agree on the plan for, or on the future of. Three of Pentacles is a mutual relationship, deal, contract, agreement or settlement – also a meeting, usually of three people. It refers to a real estate closing, the final inspection before the architect is paid. Two of Wands is the future, finances, planning, financial planning, and security – including the security of wealth, particularly real estate. So we have a deal that both sides want, but one side is uncivilized. The deal is going to be agreed upon and closed but there’s a hell-raising factor, a tough customer to deal with. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS Seven of Wands All of us are like this some of the time, but some of us are like this all the time. “I’m mad as hell and I won’t take it anymore.” “Gimme the keys, and, no, I won’t pick up after myself.” It can be standing up for yourself or for what’s right, or it can be the mouthy adolescent’s way of getting his way. The illustration shows intrusion: Neighbors have come against a landowner to take what belongs to him, and he is defending against greater numbers on very short notice – did not have time to get dressed, get his shoes on – is in his nightshirt. Knight of Pentacles A good man to know when you need something done that the law won’t handle, he is. This is the very physical tough and though-minded guy who is gonna get his. The difference between him and Seven of Wands is his determination: He knows what he wants and he is going to get it, because it is his only priority. The illustration shows a short dark intense fellow staring at the pentacle (money) and mounted on his short dark intense steed who is standing still. Two of Wands Things are looking good, but you have a plan to make them even better. He has princely money, he has – for God’s sake – the world in his hands. Atop his castle by the sea, he is planning his real estate empire below. Security, money, banker/bank, a good solid future. His money power is as strong as the Knight of Pentacles’ physical power. Three of Pentacles Let’s get together and get something done. You do this part, and I’ll do that, and we will all get something out of it. Coming to agreement, doing a transaction, making a deal, each of us doing our part in a relationship. We meet together for this purpose (usually the three of us). This is closing a deal, clinching a relationship. This is civilization. All the material on this blog is copyrighted. Knight of Pentacles
Four of Swords, Two of Wands, Justice
.
Meanings and Illustrations:
Oh happy day: four ‘good’ cards.
Two of our Rider Waite Tarot citizens today are focused on a goal; one Tarot card is about not doing any more; and the remaining one is about ‘should’ – about things the way they are supposed to be.
Two of Wands and Knight of Pentacles are focused on a goal. Knight of Pentacles has one thing on his mind, even obsessively. He is the sturdy short dark muscled fellow whose horse is also sturdy and short, dark and muscled. Two of Wands is a different sort of fellow, the one whose muscle is financial. He has ‘the world in his hands’ in the illustration. He stands on a roof porch overlooking HIS waterfront real estate community development down there, and is thinking about his money, its and his future.
Our first card is the Four of Swords. This is the fellow overnighting in the cathedral meditating on the stone coffin of some culture hero (saint or warrior), his vision quest that is part of knighthood. The main point of Rider Waite Four of Swords is ‘not participating.’ Not doing. Inactivity. Sleeping. Giving it a rest. Time out. Four of Swords has fewer applications, fewer meanings than most Rider Waite Tarot cards.
Justice too has fewer meanings than most Rider Waite citizens. Besides the obvious legal, police and fairness meanings, it tends to come up with the word ‘should.’ Illustration shows a crowned figure in a red robe with a sword held high and the scales of justice in the left hand.
Today’s advice is good news! Everything is all right for you. That’s what we say here. You’re where you should be, just stay there. Make sure you get the proper rest, and everything’s gonna be all right. Meeting the requirement and no more is good enough; you don’t have to do another thing to be established and to be profitable. Meet that one main goal you have in mind, and if you do nothing else, you are home free.

ONE-SENTENCE READINGS
Personal Life Perspective:
The main point is: You are where you should be without doing another thing: Stay there.
One thing is certain: You have done all you need to do for things to be the way they should be.
You can sleep now, knowing it’s going to be all right.
Relax. You’re okay, and will continue to be okay for sure.
Focus on the future because right now things are okay without any further effort on your part.
Proper rest and relaxation is going to be important.
Plan to get the sleep you should, first priority.
His dream is to be a lawyer, that’s all he will be.
Aim to do right and nothing but right: That is the plan.
An honest working man will sleep nights.
Being moral is all it takes for you to be secure, only that one thing.
Once you’ve got things under control, you are where you should be.
Legal Perspective:
The law isn’t focused on bankers or real estate people.
Having no plan is very significant, legally.
The point of the lawsuit is going to be what wasn’t done.
The legal issue will be how much sleep he got.
The law has no global focus.
No other priority than to properly establish that one point.
There was no intent or plan: That is the focus of the law.
Refraining from doing that one thing will make it legal.
Business Perspective:
The business is as profitable as it should be without further attention.
You should just let it stay profitable, that’s the main point.
The only concern is balancing the books, that’s all.
The business plan is realistic; just make sure it stays that way.
Being established and legitimate is the only thing you have to do.
Relax. Your goal will be met.
Relax. You will establish this one for sure.
Whatever you have in mind, the bank will approve.

Two of Wands
Tower – Six of Cups – Knight of Pentacles
Another spoiler card configuration. Very first card is divorce, confrontation, break, separation, temper tantrum, strike, wreck, radical departure … even arrest.
Both Six of Cups and Two of Wands are about security. Six of Cups is about the past and Two of Wands is about the future.
Both Two of Wands and Knight of Pentacles are about looking forward. In the case of Knight of Pentacles, it is his self-interest that engrosses him; and in the case of Two of Wands it is financial future. Knight of Pentacles is motivated to be where Two of Wands has already arrived.
Advice is about breaking with the past … even breaking with the people you have cozy old scenes with … and deliberately focusing on the future you plan for yourself. Something must be rejected as you reach for something you see ahead. We speak of taking care of the children of a broken marriage as well. (The children card and the sweet home card are one and the same.)
Meanings and Illustrations:
Tower: Divorce, confrontation, break, separation, temper tantrum, strike, wreck, radical departure … even arrested. See the Tower of Babel (a home of sorts) destroyed.
Six of Cups: Home sweet home, children, sibling(s), security, the past, nostalgia, romance. The illustration shows two little kids in front of a large dwelling place (apartment building or mansion). The boy gives the girl flowers. The colors are softer.
Knight of Pentacles: He is rough and tough, a peasant kind of a fellow even if he wears finery. He is focused on one thing, and it is self-interest that motivates him. Illustration shows him short and dark on a similar pony, staring at the center of his interest.
Two of Wands: Security, financial future, the future, a plan – and, hence, a financial planner. He has already arrived. See him with ‘the world in his hands’ surveying the town he owns and planning his next development.
YOUR TAROT ANALYSIS:
A Man’s Divorce Perspective:
He aims to divorce to have a future with his beloved.
He is so in love with this gal, he will break with his past.
A secure and romantic home life with the manly dude who is divorcing/is divorced.
After the divorce, he aims to make a secure and happy home for his child/children.
When he plans to divorce, he thinks mainly of his children.
His main goal is to provide financially for the children of his divorce.
His children are his future, he forsakes all else.
Romantic Perspective:
This romance he is obsessed with wrecks his future as a solid citizen.
The tough guy will be a home wrecker.
This is a departure for the he-man: He will be warm and fuzzy from now on.
His mind is on the romance he is going to have, forsaking all others.
The tough guy in love will be a breakthrough.
The dream of the picket fence type home life with this self-interested guy will blow up.
Other Perspectives:
He is very secure being the short-tempered hands-on man he has always been since childhood.
He breaks with his past and looks forward only to his future.
He knows he will be separated from his child/children.
Dedicates himself to the future of the children, breaking with all else.
This one idea that struck him in the past will make him financially.
He breaks with his old fashioned roots to focus on being the financial planner.
He will confront his sibling on this one point.
He aims to break with his past and Be Somebody.
His kid is going to get arrested, he knows this.
Four Card Spreads, Our Daily Spread, Tarot Verbatim
Think first ‘What kind of a deal is this going to be?’
Page of Cups
Temperance, Knight of Pentacles, Two of Wands
Romantic Perspective:
Which relationship will be the primary one?
He is sure he is going to be in a close relationship but still questions it.
He plans to somehow be the one who is sure of their relationship.
He asks himself whether this will be his only relationship.
He is certain he is going to make an idiot of himself with this partner.
Other Perspectives:
He is sure he is going to side with this idiot.
Is it a plan? Is this the most important deal?
How is this tough guy going to deal with this?
Is this the only person he will have financial security with?
What mutual plan will we/they focus on?
He is sure he is going to make an idiot of himself with (you).
Think first ‘What kind of a deal is this going to be?’
Is the focus on our mutual financial security?
What is our most important goal?
Will we be in this together? – That is the only question.
Hmmm. We have a close relationship or deal, Temperance, and the focus on one thing or most important goal, the Knight of Pentacles, and the plan or financial security – which also puts the sentence into future tense, the Two of Wands, and then the idiot or instructions to put the sentence into question form. (Okay, which of you is that ‘idiot’ theme following?)
Advice here invites you to wonder and speculate on your immediate future with your intimate partner – maybe to ask yourself ‘What am I doing?’ Not much to this, not much more than that.
Meanings and Illustrations:
Temperance: Dealing with another person, a relationship, being on the same side as, mutual, together, ‘our,’ partner, intimate partner. The water being poured from one chalice to another suggests an association or a dealing back and forth.
Knight of Pentacles: One thing on his mind in his hard, hard head. This is the stubborn obsessed macho man. It can be a brute but doesn’t have to be. A rough-looking guy stares intently at the money. His rough-looking horse stares ahead too: They are well matched.
Two of Wands: Looking out over the ramparts [love that word!] to the town he owns, he plans his financial empire: It’s a sure thing.
Page of Cups: Huh? What? The idiot. And instructions to put the sentence into a question form. It means a question, to question, etc.
This is another spread that makes choosing gender (he/she) difficult. I wrote two sentences on a lot of these because Strength can be the person who is the solution, or a controlling person who is part of the problem, in this particular set of Rider Waite Tarot cards.
You are not going to be letting anyone get you involved in their fight
Ten of Pentacles
Three of Swords, Three of Wands, Strength
Romantic Perspective:
Breaking up is going to happen since she is not letting him make trouble with her friends.
She is making trouble with his friends, so he is going to split up with the controlling woman.
Breaking up because she isn’t going to let him interfere in her home life.
Breaking up is what’s going to happen because she interferes in his home life.
Her/The solution to being in a family that continually feuds is divorce.
He is going to be nothing but trouble and she is not going to let him break her heart.
Nothing but trouble with that controlling woman so a divorce is coming.
Incessant sniping makes home life a power struggle. You are not/She is not going to let that continue.
This is a dysfunctional hostile situation in your personal or home life, and you are going to be on top of it.
Family Life Perspective:
Family meetings about disciplining the defiant member will continue.
She is not going to let their hurtful quarreling go on.
She is not going to let anyone get her involved in their fight.
You are not going to be letting anyone get you involved in their fight.
Do not let this hurtful infighting go on.
If you kids keep fighting, mama is going to pin all of you down.
You squabbling kids are going to be shut up.
Prevent the heartache and trouble that is coming to us/them.
She diffuses the wrangling before it becomes hateful.
Business Perspective:
The solution will be to split the organization.
The solution will be to split up the group that is experiencing/causing this problem.
The day is coming that the quarreling factions are shut down.
The group disciplines a person; that person will be quitting.
Will always be a source of dissension; the solution is to fire that person.
Warring factions are being and will be brought under control.
The damage to them is not going to be allowed to continue.
Prevent the damage that will cause such a problem to them.
The day is coming to lay down the law to the infighting members.
Resisting Influences Perspective:
These hostile people are always going to fight among themselves but don’t let it get to you.
She isn’t letting the mores of this petty bunch of people get to her, she resists
Don’t let the mores of the petty bunch of people get to you – resist them.
She resists the influence of their warlike culture: It isn’t going to get to her.
Resist the influence of their warlike culture and it isn’t going to get to you.
She is not going to let anyone get her involved in their fight.
You are not going to be letting anyone get you involved in their fight.
Miscellaneous Perspective:
They unite in war and they will be pacified.
We have three cards that are warlike, and one that means it will continue. The Three of Swords means hostility, quarreling, hurting, war, divorce, and the Ten of Pentacles is a bunch of dysfunctional people who don’t get along, who are feuding or quarreling. Ten of Pentacles is a power struggle among members. The Strength card is almost always setting things straight, making an intruder behave, preventing harm or preventing an attack, but once in a while she can be a pushy broad, and it’s reasonable when you put her with these other two warlike cards, that she would be part of the aggression.
The female gender of the Strength card is not so strong that it is the girls against the boys here. But it can be, as when mama is making the kids behave or opting out of a family feud, maybe with in-laws.
Advice in this spread is to not be involved in group animosities, in family feuds, neighborhood wars and infighting at, say, work. Don’t be interfered with and don’t be drawn into controversies. As a matter of fact, you might have to make some peace in a somewhat heavy-handed but somewhat diplomatic way. Maybe making that peace between warring factions that do not include you. Don’t let the hostilities continue, we are saying here.
Meanings and Illustrations:
Three of Swords: Today the quarreling spectrum of this Rider Waite Tarot card is emphasized by the presence of the Ten of Pentacles, another card that talks about quarreling and not getting along. Three of swords is divorce, separation, hostility, warlike atmosphere, dissension, split, any heartache you can think of just about.
Three of Wands: Continuing action, now and ahead. Something will be going on. Or something is coming. Illustration shows a fellow watching his ships coming in.
Strength: She diffuses a hostility. She prevents opposition. She is the solution. She won’t let him attack. She is the lion tamer, she has such strength of character no one crosses her. Muggers dodge her and obscene phone callers hang up on her. See her pet the lion who wants to eat her but just can’t get himself to This is where we all need to be. It would be a perfect world if we were.
Ten of Pentacles: This is the family most of us come from and are trying to avoid replicating in our lives. This is The Family Carol Burnett put on the small screen. This is the people who are ‘hard to get along with’ who always seem nevertheless to be in a like-minded group. Meet the tired stereotypes of controlling head of family and the husband who looks in the other direction when his wife is talking. Next to this card is the Strength card which means to overcome and make peace and make obstreperous elements behave.
