GUIDANCE There’s this internal radar in humans about fairness, not that they all have the same definition: It gets tangled up with their self-interest so that especially some people’s radar is about ‘somebody has to pay my bills and make me happy.’ But this gut feeling about ‘fair’ visits us and lives within our psyche unbidden.

Seven of Wands – Seven of Wands – The illustration is about neighbors outnumbering a landowner in a surprise attack to take his property. Seven of Wands is often about some kind of fight, especially an uneven fight, dispute, provocation, protest, clash, struggle or effort. The illustration makes for two separate scenarios, each of which has many variations on the theme.
.
The first scenario is about the person who’s outnumbered and under attack. The first scenario is defending what’s yours, being defensive, being taken by surprise, being threatened, holding out for (something), standing up for yourself, about what the individual is up against, the pressure the defender is under, the opposition a person (or a side) is facing, and about an unexpected challenge. Seven of Wands is also protesting for (whatever) and being the underdog. Something drives you crazy (‘drives me up a wall’). “I’m mad as hell and I won’t take this anymore.”
.
The second scenario emphasizes the attackers. In real-life Tarot use, Seven of Wands often features a demanding unreasonable person, a mooch pressuring ‘the mark’ to provide for him/her, disorderly conduct, a pushy in-your-face person (which can refer to sales pressure). This can be an actual mugger, although that’s usually expressed with Seven of Swords or Five of Swords. Think of Seven of Wands Scenario Number Two as the drunk who demands the car keys, or the dependent who demands your car and, no, will not even fill up the tank – or even harassment by salespeople or telephone robots. Today with Hierophant, the church pressures for donations.
.
Seven of Wands doesn’t always involve a second party, though: It can be about pushing yourself to do, or to not do. It can be about something that simply drives you crazy (paying the bills, with Six of Pentacles). Seven of Wands can appear in your spread to represent that something is against the odds, or that a project will be an uphill battle – adverse circumstances.
Hierophant – Hierophant is a complex card. You see a pope doing a ritual with his religious helpers, which is what they ordinarily, normally, and usually do – a routine. So Hierophant is the usual situation that we accept as such. Hierophant is the way things should be, ought to be, no harm being done, another nice Mister-Rogers day in the neighborhood … the middle class neighborhood.
.
Hierophant is the median, modicum, expected, accepted, okay, good enough state of being. It can translate ‘enough’ at times. A passing grade, most people’s mindset, things the way they are, the status quo, a clean act, the sticker price, the usual. It is also conforming to what is expected and accepted – obeying the rules, including the unwritten rules.
.
The pope of course brings Hierophant meanings of church, religion, Establishment, approved, moral, respectable, religious people and reverends. Any religion. ‘Church’ can translate ‘temple’ or ‘ashram,’ etc.
.
Hierophant involves what is fair, as part of its moral stance of respectability. That includes what is deserved, what a person is entitled to, what a person (or other entity) should have or get.
.
We are not today using or presenting Hierophant’s ‘image’ or ‘face’ meanings today, which are about the difference between what is factual and what we politely pretend is factual. The difference between the report and the real.
Six of Pentacles – An exchange: the employer is paying workers fairly, and they are accepting the money. Six of Pentacles is an exchange of just about anything, commonly money, attention, respect, or pills (which includes medical treatments).
.
Six of Pentacles doesn’t have to be a two-sided transaction or exchange. It means both to give and to receive, to treat and to be treated, to give or get attention, respect, money or anything else. It also is the Tarot card for payments (monthly or otherwise).
.
The exchange is a fair exchange: The employer holds the scales and weighs the coins the employees are receiving. The scales introduce a justice theme for Six of Pentacles, which has quite a few justice applications as well as general fairness applications. It translates ‘justice’ and refers to being in court, and refers to its proceedings – to paying fines, to legal fees, etc.

Hierophant and
Six of Pentacles are both about.
fairness, are both about.
being entitled to and.
deserving. They establish today’s theme, today’s subject, today’s stories. Although their meanings intersect and overlap on these themes of.
behaving justly, they are very different in their applications otherwise.

You can see
Six of Pentacles involves
an exchange with other people, and you can see that
Hierophant is
people who are involved in doing the same thing. You can see that
Hierophant involves a
religious ritual, and you can see that
Six of Pentacles involves
justice.

It’s only a small stretch to see the
Establishment in
Hierophant (what’s more
established than
organized religion?) and to see the
justice system (another
Establishment of course) in
Six of Pentacles (via the scales).
.
By the way, we have a great example of a card echoing part of another card’s meaning.
Six of Pentacles is
getting what you are entitled to, and is also
getting the money you are entitled to, while
Hierophant stands by meaning the ‘

Then we have our
rebel over here,
all nerved up … who is also ourselves
defending what’s ours from the likes of him.
Seven of Wands means both those things … get used to the dichotomy there. You see a sliver of this double meaning in Five of Swords too, which means both the bully and putting the bully in his place.

Seven of Wands
disrupts the peace of
Hierophant (
disorderly conduct).
Seven of Wands
confronts
the paycheck of
Six of Pentacles: He
deserves money too,
vandal that he is, and
demands it. (Remember that
Seven of Wands is either the
robbing neighbors who
encroach upon another’s home, or the
victim defending himself from them aggressively.
The landowner wins, by the way:
tradition, and Mother Nature.)
.
Seven of Wands reflects the emotion of

Lovers – Lovers is to be taken literally of course, and it’s all about contact and connection between people one-on-one, all about togetherness. Lovers will translate ‘in touch with’ and ‘contact’ as well as ‘connect with.’
.
Lovers also means the word ‘love’ and who-you-love, and loved ones, and falling in love. Phrases about two people also are in Lovers list of words it owns: between us; together one-on-one; the two of us; together; a couple; a person you already know; you and a pal; each other, buddy, friend, Love Partner and partner. It will also appear for equals, especially equal partners.
.
See the angel overlooking the two parties there? (Yes, they are Adam and Eve, a couple.) He is above them and surveilling or looking out for them. This gives us ‘higher ups’ and connecting to a Higher Power. It even gives us ‘protection,’ out of which evolves ‘insurance.’ Lovers is the main card about insurance.
Eight of Cups – Eight of Cups is switching direction in his progress, is changing course abruptly, changing his heading away from his intended destination due to a disruption, an interruption – namely a mountain of an obstacle. The whole story is that he will resume course once he goes around the mountain, but we don’t always use the whole Tarot story in these illustrations: We can use any part or parts of them.
.
So Eight of Cups often means to quit, leave, drop out, part ways, ‘not anymore,’ and be not there or even be A. W. O. L. It means to break off, leave, abort, abandon, drop out, disappear or vanish – and like words and phrases.
.
That’s the simple part. Eight of Cups expands to cover any change of course or direction, such as: going out of your way; moving from one place to another, a sudden, turn, transfer, and even running off the road.
.
The disruption of the pilgrim’s progress brings Eight of Cups these phrases: puts me on a different course; goes out of his way; you move from here to where you can; you make a change that leads to; changing the direction of your life; takes a sudden turn; transfer you to.
.
Lastly, check out the sliver moon glued to the full moon, which expresses time passing, especially a month’s worth of time. It will translate ‘the wee hours,’ and even such miscellaneous time-lapse phrases as ‘time off.’
Three of Pentacles – Well, well. Today Three of Pentacles doesn’t mean ‘relationship’ all over the place – only twice! Today it is under the influence of Lovers (which brings out its get-together and being-together meanings) and Eight of Cups (which serves to undo those ‘connection’ meanings). So Three of Pentacles is faced with ‘making’ or ‘breaking’ the deals or relationships it stands for.
.
Here are the main words for the getting-together meanings of Three of Pentacles today: with the team, include you in his circle, you team up, being a member of the circle; the three of us; relationships with third parties, you can get together with, you are getting together, w e are together, meeting people, we socialize, stare an activity you are interested in; social life; get involved in the project.
.
Three of Pentacles is famous here in Tarot Verbatim™ for its business aspects. Today is no exception. Here are the business-related words: negotiating, good business, someone you do business with; business; doing business with them; the agreement.
.
Three of Pentacles is not just dealing; it is dealing profitably. Today we have ‘it pays off’ and ‘a money-making team.’

Three of Pentacles is

Three of Pentacles is famous for meaning ‘
relationship’ in any way a relationship can be had. Both
Lovers and
Three of Pentacles’ connections include:
love, business, social and any kind of mutual feeling or common bond between or among people – any kind of good worthwhile connection, unless another card steps in to modify a distinction to this.

And of course there are
Lovers unrelated words and phrases:

In
Three of Pentacles the ‘together’ is still emphasized, but the

Three of Pentacles is also a

Three of Pentacles has an additional

Eight of Cups can be the wee hours of a love life with Lovers, or ‘burning the midnight oil’ with Three of Pentacles’ business mode – or its ‘meeting’ mode, make that a very late meeting.

When you have lived for some years, you look back on who you were in the phases of your life as circumstances changed, and you developed along with them. Sometimes I wonder whether – if I met some of my younger selves – would I want to socialize with them? Geez, probably not! So will I like who I am now in my next few decades? This line of thought leads me to concentrate on the small changes and shifts that segue into the larger ones, with an eye to who I want to be.

GUIDANCE We consider how … who your friends are, and who you associate with … influence the direction of your life. A person coming in, or a person exiting, changes your story, potentially anyway. While associations – even lovers – aren’t always voluntary, and may be only partially welcome, we do have a steering wheel here in our hands, and we do have at least some foresight and insight as to our route. Implied is ‘Keep my eyes on the road.’

Lovers – Three of Cups – Eight of Cups

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..
….. …….
…… …..
………, Lovers is two things or people connecting; Three of Cups is a team of people connecting for a mutual purpose, in an upbeat way, and sharing. Lovers can refer to a friend or partner connection, or to lovers literally. Three of Cups refers to mutual connecting of a group of people (often three) for a purpose, joint venture.
Each of these two, Lovers and Three of Cups, is togetherness. Lovers, once again, involves two parties – pairing up, being partners, being on the same side. Three of Cups is a team, is people who are together in a mutual cause or endeavor. Put these two concepts together, and your friend (Lovers) brings you into his or her circle of friends … or you leave the team to be partners in some endeavor. Since Three of Cups is to celebrate, you and your partner or lover have something to celebrate, or you are enjoying your association together.
Since Lovers – with the angel overseeing the human couple – also applies to humans connecting to God, it can refer to spiritual life that is divinely inspired – and, with Three of Cups, shared with others and feels good.
So we reek of togetherness in this three-card spread: That is what we are all about.
Add Eight of Cups, which is an exit or abrupt entrance – is mainly a switch in direction, and also means ‘unexpected’ – and you have stories about associations of people shifting. You also have a change in life as spiritual connection brings very good feeling to celebrate. These three cards together express what people call ‘the Jesus moment,’ which refers to a sudden shift toward siding with what your people are together on, and changing yourself to join in with them wholeheartedly.
.

.
GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE ITS NAME AND ‘TAROT VERBATIM’ INTO GOOGLE.

Lovers Here you see Adam with the tree of life, and Eve with the snake tree, a funky angel overseeing them, a volcano … and no garden elements. This illustration gives rise to a lot of unrelated meanings, which you can find by typing ‘Lovers Tarot Verbatim’ into Google.
Lovers mainly is two people or things connecting in any way at all, is lovers literally, and also applies to connection to higher power that is beneficial and positive … as in someone up there is looking out for you (or us), which can be anything from the ‘higher ups’ in workplace or family or any other place, and could be God or angelic being(s). The distinction would be in the question, or in the rest of the Tarot story.
Lovers hath many branches to its meaning tree. Today we have association, connection, bonds of friendship, partners or ‘the two of us,’ together, get together, love life and being in love, someone you are close to already, and relationship. Somehow, we miss ‘contact,’ which is a very common word for Lovers, but use ‘connect’ a lot, which often means the same thing.

Three of Cups Here we have three people who share a drink to celebrate their mutual and joint success in a farm for pumpkins. They are splitting the proceeds as friends. Three of Cups features sharing, enjoying friends, joint endeavors, teamwork, happiness, prosperity and fun … not to mention having a party. Here are like-minded people doing something they enjoy together. Of course, Three of Cups doesn’t always refer to three people, nor does it always refer to women’s enterprises.

Eight of Cups Eight of Cups is a change of direction, interruption or disruption or derailment, and means a sudden shift or turn from one thing to another. Eight of Cups is happening out of the blue … like that car that suddenly brakes without signaling to turn at the last minute. The idea is expressed here by a pedestrian on a pilgrimage who has to detour off his course because of the terrain (river and mountain). Our illustration implies he will resume course at first opportunity, by the way.
Eight of Cups is the lead card for incompletion – run off the road, over with before it begins, abort, drop out (or AWOL), quit abruptly, missing person, avoid, not anymore or no longer.
Eight of Cups is part of the ‘switch from one to another’ theme, which Knight of Swords also is a citizen of, and Two of Pentacles to a lesser extent.
.
.
.
.
There are people you associate with, and there are people you avoid associating with, but you don’t always get to choose … sometimes they’re just there, and sometimes, they’re just gone. There’s the route you choose for your life, and it doesn’t always turn out that way … which can be a good thing when all is said and done. Changes happen because of who’s in and who’s out of the events of your days. Implicit in these stories is: Exercise the choice you do have, based on the foresight you do have.

Lovers
Seven of Swords – Two of Pentacles – Eight of Cups
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
Frankie and Johnny here (but I left the murder part out of our daily group readings). Today Lovers mostly means lovers, with a sprinkling of ‘partner’ and contact or connection. It is the star card, the one the others center around in our story.
Seven of Swords makes Lovers ‘cheating lover(s).’ It is also about criminal, danger, risk and risky, taking a chance, betrayal or double-cross. It would be the assault and murder card too, which, as I said, I have disregarded here. (It is not a card of death, strangely.)
Two of Pentacles is going back and forth, going through a process or routine, repeated action or behavior, a cycle, comes and goes, and silliness. The silliness picks up the recklessness and ‘taking a chance’ of Seven of Swords.
Eight of Cups is to leave, quit, ‘knock it off,’ abandon, drop out, no longer, avoid, and so on. With Two of Pentacles being a process, we have ‘not quite leave,’ and ‘avoid (whatever) before’ – in other words, incomplete action, incomplete leaving.
So this is the drama of what can happen and does happen in our love lives.

Seven of Swords shows a daring fellow carrying off the enemies’ weapons in broad daylight … with the blades in his bare hands. A special ops fellow. This Rider Waite Tarot card in Tarot Verbatim (TM) speaks of risky (and possibly self-defeating) behavior, double-cross, thievery and assault and murder and other criminal behaviors. It is about taking a chance. |
 |
Two of Pentacles Here is a juggler doing his routine, dancing while he keeps the plates moving, wearing a goofy costume. Ships are tossing on mountainous waves behind him. This Tarot card in Tarot Verbatim(TM) means: going back and forth, going through a process or routine, repeated action or behavior, a cycle, comes and goes, and silliness. |
 |
Eight of Cups Abrupt anything. Off of one and onto another, possibly to return to the abandoned path. The pilgrim is forced, in the illustration, to follow the terrain that takes him off course. Eight of Cups embraces: to leave, quit, ‘knock it off,’ abandon, drop out, no longer, avoid, and so on. |
 |
Lovers has several branches of meaning, normally. Today, not so much. It shows Adam and Eve, the couple of lovers. The only meanings that aren’t about lovers that we use today are: affiliated, partnership, connection, contact, and together. |

I N S T R U C T I O N S & Explanations
(Comments are below this.)
Did you come here just for your predictions? – If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.
Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)
Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.
Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,
*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing. This tells the thinking regarding the combined four pictures in the Daily Spread – the pictures above here. It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the message.
*Go to Learn Tarot by the Pictures. This is the meaning of each separate card. This is how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in this Spread.
You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim ™ works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Tarot without trying. The Tarot Talks tab has some examples for students.
P. S. Call Emily for your personal live reading at 800 99 3 6 9 12 (from Eastern 1 p. m. to Eastern 1 a. m. at least, every day).
