Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards
Nine of Cups is so simple. It says your wish is granted, and it always refers to the person whose question or issue the spread is about. Words for it are enjoy, happy, pleased, want to, satisfied, riches, excess and so on. The illustration is a fat fellow who must be burping, he ate and drank it all. The empties are on the mantel.
Judgment shows the angel with the trumpet awakening the dead. The trumpet gives rise to meanings about ‘to say,’ to speak, tell, announce and so on – also a big noise. The people arising out of their coffins give rise to ‘a new life,’ ‘to come back,’ revive, ‘re-‘ anything, change, recover, and so on.
Nine of Pentacles is living up to the billing of the Nine of Cups: enjoying and doing as she pleases, and being well-off or ‘comfortable.’ She is on the grounds of her estate, training her falcon this afternoon in her favorite robe.
Fool He is frolicking along with his doggie on a fine afternoon, lighthearted and eccentric, and, yes, doing as he pleases. Nothing bothers him, not even walking off that cliff.
Advice is a confident prediction that the smoke is clearing and you are going to be satisfied with your circumstances and enjoying your life and leisure. There is a new phase upcoming to your life. You are going back to a simpler time of being alone, lighthearted and private, like when you were single, of not having a care in the world and enjoying whatever you do have as if that were wealth.
