Right in the middle, she sits. Queen of Pentacles. The caretaker. Associated with finances, and she is generous-hearted to her tribe. She sits with the gold in her hands, outdoors on fertile ground.
To her left is that feeling of patient dread you get when something has been going on for a while and is going to continue, and you don’t really want to deal with it: the guilt, anxiety, tension, feeling of obligation, apprehension or defensiveness. Nine of Wands is guarding the endangered turf (the wounded border guard). That ‘Nine of Wands feeling’ can emanate from the self-sacrificing lady, or from the recipient(s) of her caretaking … or it can be mutual.
To her right is a long difficult ordeal, a burden, taking it all on yourself, doing it all in one load, slow but steady progress, and the extreme of anything – including the extreme of Queen of Pentacles’ competence. Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.
*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.
*Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.
Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.
Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)
Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.
We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Four Card Spreads, Our Daily Spread
Advice We worry about the raise or the approval for funding going through. A woman is in charge of the money, whether as the politician’s backer or the daughter who supports her elderly father, or the bookkeeper who either applies for or doles out government funding. She has the leader’s authority you don’t want to stand up against. VIP’s able assistant does not pressure you. You don’t intimidate the capo’s woman.

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

He put her in charge because she knows what she is doing and he won’t have to deal with it.
She is so skilled that she gets no pressure from the boss.
People are afraid of the powerful man. She isn’t, so she is the one who directs his business.
She has the authority of the leader, you don’t want to stand up against this.
VIP’s able assistant does not pressure you.
Don’t pressure the woman who manages things for the boss.
The man in charge isn’t tense any more because he has this able assistant to handle the details.
The Moneyed Woman who has Power
Mother will give it to you, but Daddy won’t, so you are apprehensive.
She is the money behind the big man; he lives in fear of her refusing to give fund him.
She isn’t ever nervous around her betters, she has a self-sufficient life.
She is one of the governor’s backers, so be nervous about turning her down.
You don’t intimidate the capo’s woman.
If she doesn’t back you, you can be very concerned about being the VIP.
Family and Relationship Perspective
She mothers the old man so he doesn’t get nervous about things.
She takes care of her father and supports him so he doesn’t worry about himself.
If she doesn’t lend him the money, the old man has to worry.
Her husband is older than she, she worries that nothing bad happen.
He refuses to be old and hangs in there like a strong man for his supportive wife.
The couple does not get on one another’s nerves who each is in power on his/her own.
Sweating it Out Perspective
She is nervous – there’s no way she is skilled enough to have ultimate authority.
She handles people who are afraid the government won’t give them the money.
Just when you are afraid it won’t go through, you receive the funds from the bosses.
You’re always afraid the government will not dole the money out, when you are that kind of bookkeeper.
She is afraid headquarters won’t approve her raise.

Emperor – Queen of Pentacles – Nine of Wands
MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD
We begin with a man (Emperor) and a woman (Queen of Pentacles) who have power. He is the ultimate authority in some way, and she is the backer and support of him and/or of others in some way. She can also be an assistant, especially a financial assistant, or even a nurse. Emperor can also be federal government or a head of a government or corporate entity at any of its levels. If you’re talking about janitors, Emperor is the head janitor. He doesn’t have to be Potus.
The final two Rider Waite Tarot citizens, taken together, mean ‘afraid it won’t go through.’ Nine of Wands is afraid, nervous, apprehensive, is sweating it out. Four of Cups is something not going through – is being rejected, or a refusal.
MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS
Emperor Well, I just told you about him. He is the ultimate authority in some way, which could be the head mechanic in a body shop. He is the federal government, or the head of any government or corporate agency, department or meeting group at any level.
If you’re talking about the mob, he is a capo, but he is grandpa or papa in family matters. The title of this Rider Waite card tells you this, and he is pictured sitting a little awkwardly and stiffly, with a long white beard … which reminds me, he is also God the Father too.
Queen of Pentacles backs, supports, assists and is resourceful, competent and a power unto herself. She has money or manages money, which includes keeping financial books. She sits outdoors among symbols of fertility in Spring. The goat heads on her chair suggest witchiness but the card has yet to mean that in thirty years for me.
Nine of Wands was wounded in the last encounter but is still standing. He does not relish another encounter. He is nervous, fearful, apprehensive, under pressure.
Four of Cups refuses. It does not go through. It stops here. I don’t want any part of it. I won’t take any more of that. This idea is aptly depicted by a fellow with legs and arms crossed and head averted like a kid who won’t eat his peas, as yet another cup is held out to him by a disembodied hand.
