Guidance

Here we have a gentleman who is so sane, so straight, he comes off as unassuming. No wonder he drinks. (Sometimes I wonder whether I’m drunk or sober, too.) An emotionally available calm gentleman: That’s a sweetheart of a guy. There’s a legal opinion regarding some government thing here too. We are getting our head straight about things governmental.

WITHOUT THE PICTURES For the true seeker of Tarot knowledge, here is what you need to know about how the three cards in today’s spread affect one another, and how to apply Tarot Verbatim™. Here too the cards come alive, together.

WHERE EACH PHRASE COMES FROM At a glance, with a color for each card, your subconscious picks up on how the sentences of GROUP TAROT CARDS READING came to be. You feel how individual card meanings reach out and blend, unite, into a sentence. (You can learn this – yes, you!) Your subconscious awareness sees the image and its feeling and your conscious awareness sees the language meaning, the text… so your two minds focus together to see 3D, three dimensionally, the same way your two eyes see depth that one eye does not.

PHRASES FOR ALL THREE TWO CARD COMBINATIONS Are you ready for the final step of this revolutionary Tarot Verbatim™ technique? Now to make it exceedingly plain and simple, we list the expressions each pair of cards makes. We list them in paragraph form rather than itemized so that they flow, and your subconscious clicks into place and ‘gets it.’ You may even find flashes of dreams or intuitive realities as you read these, at times.

The Rider Waite Tarot™ deck is a data bank in mass consciousness that your subconscious can communicate with. Tarot Verbatim™ is the Rosetta Stone that makes that communication easy because it is a bridge between conscious and subconscious thought. When both your levels of awareness focus together, you think intuitively in real time in ‘the real world.’

Justice

Justice

Another easy Rider Waite Tarot card in Tarot Verbatim™: Labeled ‘Justice,’ got scales in one hand and raises a sword flat at us: Law enforcement! The scales add ‘balance.’ So we have the whole legal industry represented. But not today.

Justice is ‘supposed to.’ Justice is should, ought to, entitled, deserve, right (in every sense of the word, including ‘correct’). Here are more of its very common words and phrases: straight and straighten out; sane and sensible; sober; okay, truth, fact. Justice is ‘behave,’ as Hierophant is.

Next to either of two positive marriage cards (Four of Wands and Ten of Cups), Justice makes them say ‘legal marriage.’

Page of Pentacles

Page of Pentacles

Mr. Page of Pentacles is one of the easiest of all Tarot cards in the Tarot Verbatim™ system. First, you take singular pronouns – the male ones – and ‘you.’ Next, you add any word about being, thinking, feeling, opinion, observation or impression. So you have ‘I am,’ ‘he is thinking,’ ‘how Mr. X (that you asked about) feels about (you name it). You add in the meaning of the card Page of Pentacles aspects, and ya got it 9 out of 10 times. (Just look at today’s Page of Pentacles words.)

King of Cups

King of Cups

King of Cups has a spectrum. At one end he is the affectionate sweetheart of a guy, the mild-mannered paper pusher type, the feeling, kind, emotional, man – the sweetheart of a guy. This is maybe his most common stereotype. At the other end of the spectrum, he is the weak man, the drinker, the passive-aggressive type, or tired and resigned Walter Mitty type – whiny, even.

King of Cups means government generally, or bureaucrat, as well. So Mr. King of Cups can have a paper-type bureaucratic or corporate job, be diplomatic.

But King of Cups also covers the weak man, the drinking man, the emotionally strained quietly neurotic fellow – even the passive-aggressive sniper.

Learn Tarot

Now Without The Pictures

Page of Pentacles is similar to Page of Wands. I call them ‘identity cards.’ Page of Pentacles translates pronouns (especially ‘I’ and ‘he,’ ‘myself’ and ‘himself’ but also ‘you.’ Take these pronouns and add the basic words for being, for identify, and Page of Pentacles says: I am; he is; you are.) Its most frequent translates have to do with thinking, feeling, looking at, opinion, impression; perspective. Page of Pentacles sets the sentence up to be about traits. So very commonly Page of Pentacles says: I am thinking; he feels; his opinion or impression is – etc. This is what you most often find Page of Pentacles doing in your work. Like he is doing here today.

And King of Cups is a man with some readily identifiable traits. King of Cups doesn’t have a lot of meanings. He’s one of the good-guy cards, with a fairly wide spectrum of types of people. First, King of Cups is polite; is the gentleman; is diplomatic – is even meek or unassuming. He is ‘the quiet type,’ and is known for being calm, for having a heart.

King of Cups is ‘the emotionally available man’ in romance questions; is ‘your honey,’ a sweetheart.

Next, King of Cups is the bureaucrat, the ‘suit’ associated with corporate America; the fellow with a desk job (which includes stockbrokers, men with government jobs like regulators and politicians and middlemen, bankers. It even includes being a government or agency of one.

And then, he’s your drinking man, even an alcoholic. He doesn’t personally stand, usually, for an irresponsible drunk, though: Gotta have other cards to drag him that way.

King of Cups’ shadow side is the passive, weak, ineffectual, dull, lackluster, mealymouthed wimpy dude. Think Robert Gibbs. Or the emotionally strained neurotic like the passive bloodsucking couch potato. He can be passive-aggressive too, but you need a card like Seven of Swords or Six of Wands for the ‘aggressive’ side. Yeah, King of Cups is your man for the whiner too. He is like that complaining whiner Queen of Swords at times.

So how does Justice fit with these two guy-cards? Well, that’s easy with Page of Pentacles, who thinks about, and who is. He is straight, sane, sober, realistic, committed, correct and accurate, and entitled: Justice’s vocabulary. With King of Cups, the king’s good side is emphasized, eliminating the ‘weakling/loser’ traits he could represent in different Tarot company. AND there’s an interesting contrast between the ‘sober’ of Justice (‘sober as a judge,’ you know) and the drinking-man or drunk of King of Cups.

(Yes, Justice is the card for anyone and anything in the justice industry, including the judge.)

Justice and Page of Pentacles make all kinds of phrases like ‘in my right mind’ and ‘straighten myself out’ and ‘I think (fill in the blank) is correct.’ I was right about that, they say. Justice and Page of Pentacles are a sane and sober person too.

Emily to Client:

As positive as this is, let me tell you that these Mother Nature/Smell Good relationships are never-ending drama (even after marriage!). Fertility clinics demonstrated this in detail with 100,000 of their couples matched with 100,000 like couples in a study that cost millions in the Nineties when genetic testing was new and expensive. (They already had genetic profiles of their clients.) The question in the study was ‘What is the main difference between our clients (people who cannot have babies) and people who have many healthy babies?’ The study concluded that people who had many healthy babies often reported smelling good to one another, and their relationships were tumultuous to the max – break up, make up, repeat indefinitely. The Smell Good connection makes for a heavy bond and a long … if tumultuous … relationship.

So proceed with utmost caution. And keep in mind that the fertility clinics’ study indicates it’s probably a lot easier to get pregnant with a guy who smells that good to you!

Good luck to you. Good luck to us all.

Synopsis

Here we have three people who get along, who are on the same page and at peace with one another. None of these three cards are flamboyant, assertive or snarky. We have a young man (son, could be), the Mama, and the quiet comfortable older man: Pop. They could also be a nice normal set of people who are matched up well as a pair. No conflict here.

GET A SINGLE CARD’S MEANINGS: TYPE IT INTO SEARCH BOX ON OUR SEARCH PAGE

Page of Pentacles

Page of Pentacles

A young man contemplates the subject pentacle studiously. Page of Pentacles usually translates ‘think’ and ‘feel’ and similar words. He is looking at that pentacle studiously, so he also brings us words like looking, watching, seeing, figuring out, understanding, and even paying attention, but his attention is not obsessive or narrowly focused as Knight of Pentacles’ is.

Many cards can bring just a pronoun in a given sentence, but Page of Pentacles very commonly does: It is the strongest identity card. It therefore can translate simply I, he, you – very often, as well as possessive pronouns like ‘his’ or ‘mine.’ When you add all the words that are along the lines of think, believe, understand, opinion, etc., and put the those together with these pronoun meanings, you get quite a few potential phrases that will recur for this card: He thinks, I think, His opinion, my opinion, what he feels about – and you can take it from there. In brief, Page of Pentacles is perspective.

Page of Pentacles is a young person or trainee or student. He means ‘learning.’ Page of Pentacles sometimes even translates ‘mind’ or ‘mental.’ So the phrase ‘what is on my mind is’ belongs to this fellow. So could ‘It’s all in your head.’

Queen of Wands

You can think of Queen of Wands as having a big stick in one hand and a flower in the other, and you can check out that expression on her face of the kindergarten teacher or mother watching, and watching out for, the kids. Queen of Wands is the Mama and the Manager. This is a down-to-earth plainspoken no-nonsense well-organized, capable and confident woman who ‘runs a tight ship.’ You could say she is a double Virgo and that her motto is: Behave. Her funky black cat indicates she doesn’t play ‘straight man’ to comedians.

Queen of Wands is the main Wife card. She can translate ‘wife’ without any other support for that. So she also can translate ‘married woman.’ Watch for her to be the wife of a male card next to Queen of Wands, as with King of Cups here. For this reason, when Queen of Wands appears with a card that is a male person, especially the kings, those two cards can translate ‘couple.’ Look closely before you do that: It’s obvious here.

King of Cups

King of Cups

King of Cups is usually a support actor, not the star. He is usually good company – not anyone to be worried about, reassuring even. The expression on his face isn’t alert and engaged but disaffected. The flood around his throne, in Rider Waite, tells us this is an emotional person, and the hint of turbulence, with the ship behind him, suggests some instability too (See Two of Pentacles). King of Cups is the quiet type, the polite type, and may be the quiet type with internal baggage or cargo that engrosses and distracts him.

So King of Cups can be a honey of a guy or a sweetheart of a guy, the man who is emotionally available (even warm and fuzzy like Knight of Cups), the gentleman. He can be a bureaucrat, or even government itself, at any level. He can be personnel, or have a desk job.

So King of Cups can also be a weak ineffectual man, a passive or passive-aggressive man, a drinking man, a lackluster sort of fellow, passive or passive-aggressive.

Learn Tarot

Now Without The Pictures

Queen of Wands is the wife, married woman, down-to-earth woman or sensible woman, the type who runs a tight ship at home or at work. The Mama. King of Cups is the quiet man, the emotional or emotionally available man, the gentleman with the warm personality, who may drink, and may have a government or desk job – often an unassuming fellow, sometimes a Walter Mitty ineffectual sort. They make a good couple domestically. Page of Pentacles is looking at them as a couple, thinking about them in some particular way, including picturing himself in this kind of scene. Since Page of Pentacles is a young fellow, he can be contemplating his parents’ relationship.

Queen of Wands also means manager, so we have a sprinkling of that.

Readers sometimes find a spread with nothing but court cards (Kings, Queens, Knights and Pages) hard to read. Here, you can see these people relating to one another according to the personality their cards typically have. That is one of the features of Tarot Verbatim™.

Page of Pentacles is one of the identity cards, the strongest one because it has the fewest other meanings. This card in Tarot Verbatim™ often simply translates as a pronoun: I, myself, he, him, the one who, the type that, etc. It also translates to any variety of words about think, feel, see, contemplate, opinion, view, perspective, watch, look, and so on. It means mind and mental, and it means a young person. He is also about learning, a student or apprentice.

Queen of Wands, as I said is The Mama. She is organized, and she organizes her space and her people. She is definitely in charge and knows what is going on around her … eyes in the back of her head. No-nonsense. She is a natural for a manager, and often appears as one. This is a married woman, a wife, the one who he is marrying or is married to. She is so sure of herself you would not think to say she is sure of herself.

King of Cups echoes Knight of Cups (a few years older, same fellow). He is calm, quiet, polite, a gentleman, openhearted in his quiet way, a reassuring fellow to be around. He is a honey of a guy, a sweetheart of a guy. His shadow side is passive-aggressive, or lackluster, ‘the suit’ sort of fellow who may work for government or corporate entities. Mostly, though, he is warm-fuzzy.

The gentleman has in mind to make the people in business with him rich, and it happens. Your honey gets the idea he is lucky to share life with you.

Wheel of Fortune
Page of Pentacles, King of Cups, Three of Cups

Business Perspective:
He has a feeling in his bones that his time has come to prosper, he feels like celebrating.
He senses destiny is about make him very, very prosperous in a deal with three parties sharing profits.
He is one lucky man, he sees himself having money for the good life, money to party/share with friends.
The gentleman has in mind to make the people in business with him rich, and it happens.
One fortunate event gives them all the good life, and it was this one gentleman’s brain-child (idea).

It’s his idea that makes us all rich and happy.
It is this quiet man’s idea for the mutually profitable deal that makes everyone a good life.
Because he is into sharing with others, he strikes it rich.
It is at a meeting that the idea strikes this low-key nice guy, the idea that makes his fortune.
He feels very emotional about his idea that creates a wonderful life for him and companions.

Romantic Perspective:
Your honey gets the idea he is lucky to share life with you.
He thinks of you, a get-together, a date, happens: Yay!
He is thinking of how wonderful it would be to affectionately share her life and good times.
She seems to be doing very well, he is thinking it’s his destiny to be her honey.
They happen to get together and have a good time, and he is thinking of her affectionately.
He has the idea to go drinking with the party girls and get lucky.

He is thinking of her affectionately, thinking of getting together with the Girl and making it happen.
He comes to the conclusion he must be meant to share life with her, be her good man.
The feeling comes to him that he will strike it rich and party with girls.
The girls all know he is the man who will make their destiny, that they ‘have it made’ with him.
All the girls know he is the gentleman they would be lucky to have share their lives.

We begin with two Rider Waite Tarot cards that refer both to a man thinking and feeling and to a good man. Page of Pentacles’ main meaning is to think, to know, to feel, and to be a good person. Often a male card. King of Cups is the emotional man, the good man, the man who feels affection, often romantically. King of Cups with the succeeding card, Three of Cups, both refer to drinking.

Next, we have Three of Cups which in Emily’s Tarot Verbatim™ system means to share life and good times, to share profits, to celebrate, and to have a romantic date. It stands for ‘the girls’ or The Girl.

THEN we cap this all off with the Wheel of Fortune, which is destiny, a stroke of luck as in hitting the jackpot, ‘It happens!’ and a miracle occurs.

These are elements to the story of this four-card Rider Waite Tarot spread. Consider this an invitation to put these pieces together in some of your own ways, which will be just as valid as these sentences are.

Advice is to strike while the iron is hot both for romance (to get together and share a wonderful evening and perhaps a wonderful life) or for business (the deal is sealed with champagne for all).

Meanings and Illustrations:

Page of Pentacles: Page of Pentacles’ main meaning is to think, to know, to feel, and to be a good person. It’s often a male card, and often has the general meaning of ‘an idea’ or a feeling. It tends to refer to image and once in awhile to a person who is learning as an apprentice. The illustration shows a young person studying an object he holds at eye level and contemplates.

King of Cups: This is the quiet, low-key gentlemanly calm man, often a bureaucrat or paper person. He is emotional, which could be along the lines of being affectionate, warm and fuzzy and/or along the lines of being passive-aggressive, whiny, a drinking man – a weak personality. The illustration makes that point by surrounding his throne with swirling water, ships tossed on waves in the background, and having his right hand in a loose limp grip on a big cup.

Three of Cups: The girls win. The girls are having a girls’-night-out. The girl is on a date. This is a happy celebration at harvest, and harvest is a shared one. Raise your glasses high! These are ‘party girls’ as well, when a guy is down to the titty-bar where the pole dancers are, so they can be performers.

Wheel of Fortune: If you could have one card to live in, this is where you would move. I once heard a competent youngish lawyer, who was established in his practice, say ‘If I had my choice between being a brilliant lawyer and being a lucky lawyer, I would choose being a lucky lawyer.’ This is the big win, the stroke of destiny, the finally-happening event, and the word ‘wonderful.’ Once in a while the destiny is a not-good event, but a preponderance of other cards is what it takes to make Wheel of Fortune mean anything less than the best thing that ever happened.

Channeling the presence of God requires being healthy of mind

Lovers
Knight of Pentacles, Ace of Wands, Ace of Cups

Romantic Perspective:
He is obsessively aware of such a strong sexual bond that he is your/her love partner.
He is your true-lover because all this very physical guy thinks of is sex, which is true love for him.
They are sexual counterparts of one another, he is sure of that.
The couple is intensely aware of a soulmate level sexual attraction.
He is in love with only her; he has to be her love partner.

His idea is to make her be his lover.
He aims to force himself on a female partner.
He forces himself to be affectionate to be her lover.
This manly dude has an overwhelming receptivity to being her lover.

Great sex is the main thing that makes him love her/you.
He is so in love that he has to be your lover.
This man-woman love connection is all-engrossing to him.
He is obsessed with hooking up with his sexual counterpart.
He relies on divine protection in his sex life.

Business Perspective:
Either the easy way or the hard way he will make partner.
He will make the connection the hard way or the easy way.
He is counting on this one important contact or connection to make it the easy way.
He gets it that he absolutely has to be cooperative to connect up with his ambition.
He makes the connection in his head that he has to be good.

He must connect being number one with being lovable.
His main achievement is the way he gets one-on-one cooperation.
Together, it is easy for them to focus on the main point.
He has to make this one connection, so he aims to be receptive.
He aims to make them accept him as an equal.

His partner forces him to accept being the ‘heavy.’
The senior partner’s assent is the main factor.
Stubborn man gets the idea he has to cooperate to be ‘in.’

Spiritual Perspective:
His main focus is on divine and angelic protection.
He is a godly man, he must be in contact with the Divine.
You have to focus to be connected to God.
In order to achieve contact, focusing receptively is necessary.
Channeling the presence of God requires being healthy of mind.

His main strength is his contact with the Holy Spirit.
God comes first in his thinking, he has that much of a contact with God.
Connecting with a God that is bigger than himself, that is what he intends.

I could go on. There’s a lot here in these four! The God theme is in the Ace of Cups, the presence of God and channeling God through the Holy Spirit indwelling, and is in Lovers, a connection to God, divine protection and angelic protection.

Both the Knight of Pentacles and the Ace of Wands are male cards and are about ‘the most important’ or being number one, being aggressive, making/forcing, and so on. Knight of Pentacles with Ace of Wands is focusing on the most important factor, sexual obsession, rough sex, even ‘dick head.’ Got to be Number One.

Ace of Wands with Ace of Cups is a prime male-female sexual connection, the soulmate or counterpart connection that gets a man’s attention and cements a love relationship. When you put the Lovers card with it on one end (love partners and ‘connecting’) and the Knight of Pentacles, a guy with ‘one thing on his mind’ on the other end, you have a love layout (pun intended) par excellence. You have what my deceased husband calls ‘lovefucking.’ You also have ‘the easy way or the hard way’ and ‘putting God first,’ and ‘make him/her cooperate.’ You could also have ‘dominate the female’ as well as ‘women first.’

Knight of Pentacles with Ace of Cups is the dude totally in love. It is also a rough dude being mindful to be receptive, to cooperate, to be ‘soft.’

Ace of Cups with Lovers is connecting with God or ‘divine connection’ or divine protection phrased redundantly. It is also true lovers, phrased redundantly.

In business perspective, the ambitious man is the Knight of Pentacles, that focus on the most important factor again. Ace of Wands, to make or force, with Lovers, the partner and the connection, brings out such language as ‘make partner’ and ‘make yourself the equal.’

Advice is ‘Tonight’s the night.’ Lovers doing what lovers do. The guy ‘gets it,’ has ‘one thing on his mind,’ and that’s – redundantly phrased on only four Rider Waite Tarot cards – making love.

Regarding business, a stubborn man gets the idea he has to cooperate to be ‘in.’

Regarding spirituality, connecting with a God that is bigger than himself.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Knight of Pentacles: To focus on one thing. He has one thing on his mind. He has one aim, is ambitious. He is a rough energetic possibly low-class dude. His horse is too. Very Aries.

Ace of Wands: Of prime importance, first, must or ‘got to.’ Make or force. The male, the aggressor, or the aggressive approach. Numero Uno. The hand with the board in it, get their attention by bashing them in the face. The penis personified, so to speak.

Ace of Cups: The loving cooperative receptive approach, characterized by water and illustrated by five flows that represent the five senses. Very female.

Lovers: Connecting. Partners. Divine oversight, divine protection, angelic protection. Sexual energy is expressed by the volcano between a naked man and woman.

Not thinking emotionally is the way for him to succeed

Page of Pentacles
Two of Swords, King of Cups, Chariot

Social Perspective:
He is not the calm affectionate emotional man but his intention is to be that.
He sees himself as an emotionally lovable man but has not yet achieved that.
He sees no cause to be ambitious, he is a laid-back affectionate man.
Young fellow doesn’t think about getting ahead, he is wishy-washy.
His focus is on getting ahead, not on being a government person.
He focuses on willpower, on not being weak.

He has not figured out this vehicle but is calm about it.
He knows it was not a government vehicle.
He has no affection in his heart for this car.
He has no heart, no drive to succeed at this.
He knows all about vehicles but is not a pencil-pusher.

He is going to get ahead without the government.
His goal is unemotional thinking.
He is the ambitious type, not lackadaisical.
He has no willpower, he is weak.
He focuses on his goal, not on his weakness.
Emotions you are not consciously aware of drive you.

Business Perspective:
He sees himself as an administrator, not a project manager.
Not thinking emotionally is the way for him to succeed.
He is not emotional; he is focused on his drive to succeed.

When you have one of the negating cards – in this case the Two of Swords – in the type of spread that isn’t labeling the positions or pairing them – then that can apply to each of the companion cards.  This is what allows a spread to mean diametrically opposite things.  It means ‘not’ and ‘no’ here.

The King of Cups in Rider Waite Tarot applies various ways.  Today he is emotional, calm, affectionate, laid-back, wishy-washy or lackadaisical, a pencil-pusher, weak, a government person.  King of Cups is a government or agency as well.

So, naturally, right after him comes the discipline, willpower and drive that he is famous for not embracing, the Chariot.  Chariot is managing his circumstances to achieve his purpose.  Chariot will arrive at destination.

The last card is one of thinking and identity.  “I think therefore I am” is an apt slogan for The Page of Pentacles.  (He is still miffed with me for calling him the Page of Cups twice?)

The first interpretation that hits me when I look at these is ‘not emotional’ of Two of Swords with King of Cups and the contrasting ‘driven to succeed’ of Chariot, the last Page of Pentacles pointing out that this spread is about ‘who he is.’  That is the easiest most likely interpretation, but others follow.

Advice suggests a balance between emotional and rational thinking, between being cool and being successful.  Advice is to be consciously aware of how you are thinking, to have a handle on that rather than letting it have a handle on you.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Two of Swords: Today Two of Swords is used only as a negating word.  You can run down the sentences and see the ‘nos’ and the ‘nots.’  Illustration shows a blindfolded female sitting on a stone bench with her back to a body of water, two heavy swords weighing down her crossed arms.

King of Cups: The King of Cups in Rider Waite Tarot applies various ways.  Today he is emotional, calm, affectionate, laid-back, wishy-washy or lackadaisical, a pencil-pusher, weak, a government person.  King of Cups is a government or agency as well.  Illustration shows that mild-mannered guy with symbols of ineffectuality and emotionality all around him:  his stone slab surrounded by water, and ships tossed in the background.  He looks as if he might have had a few, too.

Chariot: “Here come da judge.”  “He’s got it together” is Chariot’s slogan.  Two sphinxes hitched to his wagon, each of which will go in only its preferred direction, and it is up to him to get them to steer his vehicle forward.  So he is all aim, ambition, drive and success.

Page of Pentacles: This last card is one of thinking and identity.  “I think therefore I am” is an apt slogan for The Page of Pentacles.  He thinks.  He is.  He knows who he is.  He is focused.

Feeling good all over and having what you want beats depression

Five of Swords
Nine of Cups, Star, Devil

Feeling good all over and having what you want beats depression.
Sexual satisfaction with the bad boy makes you feel good all over.
Has a nasty attitude and jerks you around, then he confesses he loves you and wants you.
In love with a belligerent jerk, really wants him.
Want to be abused? – someone is happy to be abusive.

He can be as nasty as he wants to be: This girl enjoys his bad attitude.
Sexual satisfaction in the joy of combat.
The joy of revenge against the cheater can be ever so satisfying.
Tells everyone he/she enjoys sexual abuse.
Telling everyone about your suffering is saying you want to be hurt.

She wants to make the smart alec love her, it’s revenge.
He got what he wanted out of her, but she is warning everyone how evil he is.
Sweet revenge for the bullying is telling the tale/testifying.
Enjoys telling the tale of why she hates this guy who took advantage.

Hmmm, you just don’t see these cards in the company of one another, what’s up? Nine of Cups and Star is ‘the love you always wanted’ or ‘your wildest dream come true, you are thrilled.’ But then we have the Devil and the Bully, Five of Swords. Huh? Say whut? That’s a brutal mugging, a rape, Nevertheless, I can weave these into scenarios most of us have encountered … hopefully in other people’s lives.

Advice from this one? Oh, golly. It may be fun but don’t go there? Telling everyone about your suffering … would you really want to do that? The best is the sentence I chose for the title: Feeling good all over and having what you want beats depression.

Meaning and Illustrations:

Nine of Cups: Everyone calls this the ‘Wish is granted’ card. Here’s this fat fellow, he ate and drank the whole thing and is mighty satisfied (burp!). This card also means ‘wants’ and all forms of the word ‘satisfy.’

Star: To enjoy, to feel good all over, to tell all, telling everyone, testifying, loves you, is in love, is happy, enjoys, joy: Those are its Tarot Verbatim meanings today. It has some others, of course. The illustration shows a naked woman doing some kind of bath routine outdoors in a pond. She is supposed to be performing or singing.

Devil: This Rider Waite Tarot card means almost any bad feeling or deed or condition. It is one of the last cards you look to for the central meaning, it is so nonspecific. Today we have some bad feelings it embodies: Depression, nasty or bad attitude, belligerent, revenge, hates. The other meanings whose boxes are checked off for the Devil are sexual, abusive, brutal, suffering, bullying and how evil he is.

The illustration shows a potbellied hirsute ugly redneck bat-winged creature on a pedestal horned humans are chained naked to, with the chains loose around their necks.

Five of Swords: We all know this guy. He has the smirk of Mr. Cheney; he ruins everyone’s day and rips everyone off. He is the bully, the cocky bastard cop. Positive phrases for this in the Tarot Verbatim school are to beat something, to get revenge. Usually it is busy meaning bad boy, jerks you around, jerk, any form of the word ‘abuse,’ bad attitude, combat, cheater, being hurt, smart alec, got what he wanted out of (you), bully, and the guy who takes advantage.

The illustration shows a smirking fellow who took his friends’ swords as if they were seriously dueling when they were only sparring.
