Page of Swords is determined to keep everything away. Four of Pentacles is keeping what he has from everyone and everything. World is sealed from anything getting to her.
Page of Swords’ guard is up – is alarmed to guard against (the environment), and is feeling vulnerable. World, on the other hand, is invulnerable and is guarding against the environment effortlessly.
Four of Pentacles and Three of Wands both refer to money. Four of Pentacles is holding onto it. For Three of Wands, it’s coming in.

You could say the first three cards equal the fourth: Page of Swords and Four of Pentacles and Three of Wands equal World: “I am not letting anything that’s coming around me get to me.” Plainly, our story is about security.
LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

Page of Swords is on guard, defending, is anxious regarding some ill-defined threat. This is the ‘free-floating anxiety’ or paranoia the psychologists speak of. He represents a security guard or soldier on guard too of course. The card really refers to the bodily state (adrenalin) of being anxious or thrilled or excited or threatened, or even irritated. It’s the ‘something’s out there’ feeling. The illustration shows a young fellow all nerved up, hair flying, weapon brandished … and nothing is around him for maybe miles.
Four of Pentacles holds on for dear life. Holding a secret. Holding money. Holding himself back from and not admitting. Stifling him/her- self. Illustration shows a fellow outside of town holding onto the money and hunkered down.
Three of Wands is clearly saying ‘Ships coming in.’ A man stands watching the approach of ships. It means ‘coming in the future.’ It means ‘income’ or ‘incoming’ or ‘coming,’ and also simply puts another card’s verb into future tense.
World is really about the security that being a spiritual master bequeaths. Of course, there’s not that many questions along those lines, so the common meaning of World is that nothing gets through. She is in a world of her own. No harm comes to her as if she were invisible. World describes the ‘dances to a different drummer’ kind of person … and this card does not refer just to females. Illustration shows a nude female with two wands wearing a scarf dancing in a world of her own while all sorts of evil critters are outside looking the other way.

King of Cups is also calm, but is emotional too. This is a person-card; its spectrum goes from the very dull bureaucratic personality, to the sweet-natured loving man, to the emotionally complex or conflicted person who has a habit, usually alcohol. It can be a government or corporate entity too.
Then there’s Sun, with its list of various meanings held together by its illustration. Today Sun is fun, a child, relief, being uninhibited, leaving home, vacation, and being free.

We see him whirling around, brandishing his weapon on a windswept knoll surrounded by miles of … absolutely nothing.
Three of Wands It’s coming. You can see it. You know what it is: It’s your paycheck, your profit, your package in the mail, your future, and it’s all good. Three of Wands is waiting for your ship to come in, and that is the illustration: Very simple.
King of Cups The gentleman, the emotional man, the good guy, the man who loves you, the calm man, the bureaucratic. Sometimes the drinking man (or another soporific). Water symbolizes emotion, and he is surrounded by water, and holding a cup he is drinking from. His expression is the illustration is a little anesthetized, you think?
Sun Here we see a boy child playing naked in the back yard, bareback on a wicked pony, and he is without clothing in the summer sun, having the time of his short life, arms akimbo. We can only ask Pony for mercy. Sun’s various meanings are held together by its illustration. Today Sun is fun, a child, relief, being uninhibited, leaving home, vacation, and being free.

Advice reminds one of “Damn the torpedoes; full speed ahead.” The picture shows an impregnable defense, shows that whatever is out there headed our way is not going to get all the way to us, that we have contained whatever anxiety-producing agents lurk outside. No harm is coming, so don’t let yourself get worked up over it. Deep down we have fears for the future but we aren’t letting them get to us.

Page of Swords and Seven of Pentacles are speculation, wondering. Seven of Pentacles is just wondering uncertainly, and Page of Swords is wondering anxiously.
Three of Wands is, yes, your ship is coming in. So our story is you are wondering about something that will actually happen.
Then Wheel of Fortune comes just short of guaranteeing that what is coming is that miracle, windfall, breakthrough, lucky break ….
Three of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards refer to the future (Page of Swords is fear of, Three of Wands is solid hope for, and Seven of Pentacles is wondering about).
If you accentuate Page of Swords’ fearful wondering, you get a more negative sentence.
MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS
Page of Swords is that nervous fellow or gal who twists the hair and stutters, the person who gives credence to whatever is threatening. It is that feeling you get when things do go bump in the night. It’s paranoia, it’s hyper-alertness, and, yes, it’s being in a dangerous situation and not knowing.
Pictured is a civilian with an upraised weapon standing on a grassy knoll in a windstorm, looking in all directions anxiously.
Three of Wands is seeing your ships coming in, and that is what is on the Rider Waite Tarot illustration. It refers to events being in the future, and often simply adds the future tense, as in ‘will be’ to the sentence.
Wheel of Fortune almost always is a stroke of luck – an opportunity, if not a miracle. It also refers to a happening, an event, destiny, and even coincidence. It means ‘a chance’ as well. Pictured is what looks like a roulette wheel with all kinds of occult symbols and critters all over the card. In between the letters T, A, R and O are occult symbols of the cycle of creation which refers to those male and female principles we have mentioned here.
Seven of Pentacles is that feeling of watching for the pot to boil. He speculates on whether his cucumber plants will bear fruit … whether he has both genders of the plant, which are necessary for fruiting to occur.
