Tarot Verbatim
Guidance You don’t have to pay attention. It’s your attention, not theirs, until you voluntarily give it. To pay is voluntary. Even if it is Lover Boy or Lover Girl, you don’t owe undivided attention just because a stimulus is in front of you. Some stimuli we should sleep through, you know? A ringing phone goes unanswered: That is an answer! Inner peace is a useful tool to disconnect yourself and be ‘elsewhere’ when the doorbell rings and it’s the neighbor’s kids again, or when Lover gets on the soapbox. Sometimes inside is the place to be … as you let it be. To disengage, to push the clutch in and separate the vehicle from the engine that drives it.

Tarot Readings: Remaining with the One you Love (Lovers and Four of Swords)
I can’t resist staying: I love you.
Can’t fight it; I’m still in love.
We are still together; I don’t listen when Sweetheart gets on the soapbox.
I’m not pushy, I just let our love relationship be.
I won’t defend my position, so I just don’t do anything … that’s love.
Not getting in your face about it, just putting up with you, Lover.
You are together, so let it be; don’t press the point.
Being lackadaisical, you don’t put your partner under pressure.
Let’s just get our rest together and not push ourselves.

Tarot Readings: Being, and Not Being, Connected (Four of Cups and Lovers)
I am still connected in spite of all attempts to dislodge me.
Meditate on shutting out external pressures to stay connected to God.
Still forcing myself to not contact him/her.
I didn’t make partner but am not about to push it.
Saying ‘no’ to pushy people by just not responding.
Resisting pressure by keeping in touch with my inner inner peace.
Refusing to listen to the bill collector and not doing anything to get in touch.
So tired to be around that attention-getter; it’s such a turnoff.

Tarot Readings: When You’re In Love with a Pest (Seven of Wands and Lovers)
Am giving it a rest as lover refuses to have anything to do with me, and then beats my door down.
Still do not respond as lover accuses and defends so vigorously.
Am passively resisting an in-my-face drama-queen kind of lover.
So used to you raising hell that I don’t hear it even when you’re standing there next to me.
I sleep through (his) irate contacts: Not listening!
Insist you love me but you don’t do anything: What a turnoff!
Doesn’t want to be with this person but is still there due to pressure.

Four of Swords
Seven of Wands – Four of Cups – Lovers

.
Seven of Wands and Four of Cups and Four of Swords Three of four of our panelist cards ‘are not having any of it.’
Seven of Wands protests, insists, raises hell, makes a scene – is pushy or being pushed around.
Four of Cups is refusing (over and over) to have anything to do with something.
Four of Swords is disengaged, not responding, turned off and tuned out, or is asleep. He can be meditating too, because of the story behind the card about having the vision of his life purpose as a knight.
The other Rider Waite Tarot card, Lovers, is about connecting, contacting, being partners, being together. It can mean a connection to God, angels, or higher-ups.
Obviously we are talking about making and resisting connections. The main stories are about (1) resisting an in-your-face drama-queen kind of lover by passive resistance, by just not responding (2) resisting pressures and pushy people by connecting to a resting place within, inner peace. Once again, Tarot makes the point that love adheres to the same patterns as the rest of life. Another story we tell is hanging in there, filtering out another party’s resistance.
Four of Cups and Four of Swords both mean ‘don’t’ and ‘not doing.’ Four of Cups is overtly refusing and Four of Swords is sleeping on it, not responding.
Lovers and Four of Swords have some phrases in common despite also meaning some opposite things to those. Four of Swords is ‘still there.’ Lovers is connected, is ‘with you.’

Seven of Wands Neighbors unexpectedly invade his space and he defends himself against the odds (and wins). Look at this card; look at him. What this represents in most people’s spreads is the adolescent tirade, the ‘Gimme the car keys and I ain’t fillin’ the tank’ philosophy more and more Americans have. This temper is most characteristic of two-year-olds, adolescents, male mammals who want to be dominant and aren’t, and people who are mad as hell and won’t put up with it anymore.

Four of Cups refuses and rejects every time the choice is offered. Huh-hunh; won’t eat that. Resists temptation. What part of ‘no’ don’t you understand? Sometimes it simply is expressed by negative contractions: don’t, won’t, isn’t going to …. Resisting, and not hearing are today’s chief interpretations for Four of Cups.

Lovers Love partners is just the beginning of this Rider Waite Tarot card’s meanings; it is cluttered with them. Any kind of connection or contact, any kind of oversight (like the way we refer to the ‘higher-ups’ at work), protection including divine and angelic protection, standing next to (anyone or anything), connecting to God. Pictured is the Adam and Eve saga.

Four of Swords Sometimes you just tune out, turn off, take a nap, endure it without response, choose to be passive. Four of Swords is also meditation because depicted is the part of knighthood ceremony that is a vision quest: The candidate overnights in a cathedral lying on the sarcophagus of a great hero or saint and reports his vision to the bishop.

Tarot Verbatim
Guidance is about fighting for what you want and defending yourself from others who want you or want what you have. What one person sees as getting ahead is an invasion of another’s fiefdom. In the same vein, lovers sometimes choose someone who is desirable precisely because he or she is unavailable. Pestering a person who has the mindset of preferring what is unavailable is counterproductive. In a similar vein, we want a spiritual life but prefer that God not interfere with our preferences too much while He is looking out for us and ensuring us the good life.

Nine of Cups – Seven of Wands – Two of Pentacles
LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING
Nine of Cups and Two of Pentacles appeared yesterday too. There’s a violation of the Laws of Random Distribution.
Seven of Wands and Two of Pentacles both involve persistence. That is as close as we come to a theme. However, these four Rider Waite Tarot cards make many common phrases, which is why we have so many sentences. So distinct are the meanings of these four Tarot cards that it is easier than usual to identify which phrases were produced by which cards.
Nine of Cups and Two of Pentacles are having one thing after another that you want, continually having your way. Nine of Cups is getting what you want, and Two of Pentacles is continuing action, one thing after another. Nine of Cups is also about pleasing or being pleased, being glad or satisfied, even content, as well as the ‘having it all’ meanings.
Seven of Wands and Lovers can talk about hitting up someone to be your lover, or to contact or connect with you, defending yourself from someone’s intrusion or sexual pressures, and maybe even about angels fighting on your side.
Seven of Wands is the intrusion, invasion, is have someone beat your door down (or doing same to them), or hit on you (romantically), confrontation, struggle, fight. Lovers is to connect, contact, is protection, is higher ups or angelic or divine protection.
Lovers refers to connection to God, partners, of of course lovers.

Nine of Cups Having it all even to excess. Safunsified. Pleased or pleasing another. What you really want. This is one of the simple cards with few meanings, and its illustration is immediately clear as to its meaning: The plump dude with the satiated grin and on the mantel behind him are ten empty cups. Burp.

Seven of Wands struggles against others for what he perceives as his, defends himself against intrusion or invasion, pressures or is pressured. Clearing your turf against all comers, whatever the odds, is suggested by the illustration of a landowner facing down six armed invaders of his turf on very short notice. (He isn’t dressed.)

Two of Pentacles goes on forever over and over again with the same silly routine. Up and down, back and forth, ’round and ’round, tossed this way and that on those waves. The juggler has a symbol of continual repetition (from mathematics) connecting his plates, and he is dressed in a getup with a dunce cap.

Lovers has several applications. Connection. Contact. Partners. Protection. Overseeing. Divine or angelic influence or protection. Love partnership or relationship, life partners, lovers. Illustration shows an angel, the noon sun behind him, overseeing and protecting Adam and Eve. Adam has the tree of life and Eve gets the tree with the snake. A volcano for passion is behind them.

Tarot Readings: Love, Lover, Love Life, Crazy Love (Lovers)
He refuses to believe he is in love, so, to him, what he is doing is inexplicable.
I’m doing everything I can possibly do to keep myself from making contact.
He is overwhelmed when his lovemaking gets out of his control.
Trying desperately to straighten things out after this guy connected with me.
The more he loves you the more he makes a mess of things.
The love magic is out of control, trying so hard to resist.
My partner defends himself from a senseless attack.
I am mounting a defense against my confusing love life.
OMG, he is actually initiating a love relationship instead of defending himself against one.
Just when my life is going kerflooey, and I have my hands full, the guy loves me
Lover’s fight gets out of control: He started it.
He and his lover have a fight that is out of bounds.
Whoa! He goes overboard when he loves someone.
Things have fallen apart between him and his lover, and he is battling it any way he can.
My loved one breaks into the place and damages it.
Pushed to the breaking point by Lover’s deeds.
He does anything for someone he loves – moves mountains.
Falls to pieces when lover confronts him.
He confronts lover, and (she) falls apart.
When Lover does that, (I) spazz out and have a fit or a meltdown.
With you, he mouths off, he sounds off, he is out of control.
He goes stark raving nuts when he sees them together.
Loverboy is a disruptive influence.

You know when you see two shiftless people together that ‘nothing good can come of this.’ Well Seven of Wands and Seven of Cups are like that. You look at the other two cards: One is a positive connection in Lovers (a couple, buddies, connection to God, etc.) and the other is taking action or doing something. At least there’s that.
Okay. Seven of Wands is the guy fending off neighbors who want him off his land, want what is his for themselves. He is defending against them. But the action can also be that of a mouthy pushy person who ‘wants the car keys and ain’t about to fill your tank.’
Seven of Cups is things in disarray. The illustration is about the Sorcerer’s Apprentice story, or Pandora’s Box. Things are out of control, in pieces, you’ve ‘lost it,’ are having a meltdown, having a fit. Shattered, broken dreams or whatever. It’s most pleasant meaning is ‘lots of unsorted things.’
Magician together with Lovers is ‘make love,’ and ‘he connects or contacts.’
We are still doing stories. Until further notice methinks. This miasma perfectly reflects my doing this blog on a mentally ill laptop with no mouse. Oh yeah!

Magician – Being the one who does something about it: That is what Magician is doing today. He is always doing something. And he is always a ‘he.’ Magician is ‘the male principle,’ the active principle, in occult concept. Conjugate the verbs ‘do’ and ‘make,’ and you have most of his meanings. ‘Active’ is one of his meanings too of course.

Seven of Wands – Onslaught. It’s coming at you, in your face. Could be the teenybopper wanting the car keys, a bill collector, a ranting disgruntled somebody. Could be someone wanting to take over your life or what is yours. It could be you mad as hell and won’t take it anymore.

Seven of Cups – Well, it hits the fan in the illustration. The evil spirits escape from the box or from the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and wreak havoc. Meltdown, shock, out of control, break into pieces, debris and storm. Insane, berserk, confused, brain-fog, brain scrambled ….

Lovers is another one of those Middle Ages cards designed to keep the Catholic Church from burning Tarot card users at the stake. You have the guardian angle, arms akimbo, over Adam and Eve with their respective trees … and a volcano behind and in between them. So disparate meanings like ‘the person next to you’ (buddy, loved one, partner, etc.); protection; contact, connection; being in touch with God or God in touch with you.

Did you come here just for your predictions? – If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.
Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ’all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)
Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

Four Card Spreads, Our Daily Spread
Advice is about fighting for what you want and defending yourself from others who want you or want what you have. What one person sees as getting ahead is an invasion of another’s fiefdom. In the same vein, lovers want someone who is desirable precisely because he or she is unavailable. Pestering a person who has the mindset of preferring what is unavailable is counterproductive. In a similar vein, we want a spiritual life but prefer that God not interfere with our preferences too much while He is looking out for us and making us the good life. (At the time of production, there’s no way to correct the lack of spaces after punctuation. I am writing around it now!)

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:
*Go to Advice above which is a summary of the Messages. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)
*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Reading below. One or more of those sentences has something to say to you. Intuitively pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

Lovers Nine of Cups – Seven of Wands – Two of Pentacles GROUP ANALYTICAL TAROT READING Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. Business Perspective Higher ups keep the pressure on about the things they want. Time after time (he) is getting his way at the insistence of the higher ups. Time after time (he) is getting his way fighting with the higher ups. When the contact is sporadic, applying pressure makes it satisfactory. Person is under recurring pressure by people who want to contact him/her. Overwhelmed by the pressure of one moneymaking contact after another. Maybe our making a big push will pay off big for us. Romantic Perspective Pressure him/her over and over again (Seven of Wands + Two of Pentacles) Person is in rut, charged up, wants to have one love partner after another. Person is under recurring pressure by people who want to contact him/her. People hit on (him/her) all the time wanting to be his/her lover. The pressure is on to satisfy the partner each and every time. Insists over and over again that he/she really wants to be your life partner. Pestering him once in a while gets you the lovin’ you want. When the connection is sporadic, confronting him/her makes it satisfactory. Other Romantic Perspectives Sometimes I want a lover and sometimes anything but. No interest in partnering up, but wants to continue on with you. I have to go ’round and ’round with partner about what he/she wants. Forcing myself to be satisfied with sporadic contact. Romance As a Fight (Seven of Wands + Lovers) Fighting the relationship: Keeps fighting the love relationship he/she really wants more than anything. The two of you want to keep fighting with one another. If he has to fight to be her lover, he will forever want that. Fighting to Make the Relationship: Want to keep loving you and will try my damnedest. We both make a continual effort against all odds to please one another. Keep up the struggle to be the partner you want to be. It’s you and me, baby, against the world, let’s keep it being optimum. No matter what the obstacles, we want to keep being together. Tries so hard to be his/her lover instead of going with the flow and enjoying it. Other Fighting re Relationship: Hold out for it, and you will have the kind of love relationship you really want. It’s one damn thing after another in your way when what you want is a real partner in love. Keeping him away from the woman he wants as a lover: mine. Spiritual Perspective Not ready for contact with that higher power but I keep wanting it too. Keeps trying so hard to please God. Under dizzying pressure to give Upstairs what they want. Protection from Intrusions (Seven of Wands + Lovers) Very satisfied, (it) has protected (us) from one attempted break-in after the other. Under constant siege, glad for angelic or divine protection. We have a satisfactory mutual defense going on.

Lovers Nine of Cups – Seven of Wands – Two of Pentacles MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: OBSERVATION OF THE SPREAD Well, darn. Nine of Cups and Two of Pentacles appeared yesterday. Interesting, there are 78 of those cards. The closest we come to a theme is that both Seven of Wands and Two of Pentacles involve some persistence. We have lots of cards who link up with common phrases, though, so we have lots of sentences. Nine of Cups is getting what you want, being glad or satisfied, content , having it all and Two of Pentacles is continuing action, one thing after another in a cycle or phase or continuum. So having one thing after another that you want, continually having your way. Seven of Wands is intrusion, invasion, beating someone’s door down or hitting on them, confrontation, struggle, fight. Lovers is connect, contact, protection, higher ups, angelic or divine protection, connection to God, partners and of course lovers. So the two can mean hitting up someone to be your lover, defending yourself from someone’s hitting on you. The meanings of these four are so distinct that this spread is easier than most to identify which phrases were produced by which cards. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS Nine of Cups Having it all even to excess. Clearing your turf against all comers, whatever the odds is suggested in the illustration of a landowner facing down six armed invaders of his turf on very short notice. (He isn’t dressed.) Two of Pentacles goes on forever over and over again the same silly routine. Illustration shows an angel, the fun sun behind him, overseeing and protecting Adam and Eve. Adam has the tree of life and Eve gets the tree with the snake. A volcano for passion is behind them.
