Not patient about recovering.

Not looking to start a new life here.

No, I am not searching for any change.

It’s not true about the whole new regime.

Revelation: That’s not really the way it is.

I can’t see where I’m going, and I wake up.

I am NOT old: Loud and clear, telling you that.

Come to the end of one story and start another.

Not until you’re old do you see things this clearly.

.

Tarot Readings: Hermit and Judgment

.. … ..

Not looking for enlightenment.

I already know it – don’t tell me.

He is coming, but not immediately.

You see clearly and tell them to stop.

You take a good look and suddenly quit.

Looking for a change, and there isn’t one.

Suddenly I don’t have patience for something.

I take a look and am alarmed – stop in my tracks.

Bring them the facts and they don’t want to hear it.

.

Tarot Readings: Two of Swords and Judgment

Not telling the truth.

Never again! – now that I know.

I know that’s not what they said.

Does not recover with this treatment.

Am on my path, am not turning back.

Not surprised when you learn the truth.

The wisdom of quitting and starting over.

The fact is: Ain’t nothin’ gonna change here.

Now that he is sincere, you don’t want to hear it.

Hermit Hermit is one of those cards with a lot of unrelated meanings, meanings held together only by the illustration and the story. So here’s the story.

Winter snow is on the ground as the old man, a monk in sincere service to travelers, patiently goes out looking for them on the path with his lamp. He is a guide who knows the way, and he offers counsel and wisdom. He comes to them even to treat them medically, because he is a healer or doctor.

.

These are nine of the meanings of Hermit we use today (plus a few). There are more – the religious ones, and the celibacy or monogamy ones, the friend and caretaker ones. Google ‘Hermit Tarot Verbatim’ to dig them all up.

Two of Swords – And here’s one of our major negators. Two of Swords most of the time is simply: not, don’t, isn’t, can’t. Like most negators, it also means: end, stop, never, and nothing. They sometimes say ‘quit’ too.

.

The illustration reminds you of Eight of Swords which often means ‘can’t.’ A woman in a night dress, who is blindfolded, balances two double-edged swords in her crossed arms (hard to put them down). It is night time, and she sits alone on a stone bench with her back to a body of water.

Judgment – Alive again, awakened suddenly when that angel’s horn announces Judgment Day: a big change, a new life, going back to the way you were (alive) and recovering. Here is where the spiritual and the material intersect: That is the meaning of the equal-sided cross on the angel’s flag.

.

Here are today’s words that describe the immediate event itself: surprise, alarm, change.

.

Here are the words for today that describe the change: recover, new life, start over, turning back, again.

.

And here are the words from today’s post about a visionary experience: revelation, wake up, enlightenment.

.

Judgment has other categories of meaning we don’t use today – for example Judgment is a legal card, and it also is about announcements, press releases and publicity. Just Google ‘Judgment Tarot Verbatim’ and you will reach them from the archives of Tarot Verbatim™.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

             LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

. ….. .    .

Here is a dissertation upon the nature of negators. Negators and you. And how intuition breaks a tie when cards read more ways than one.

.

Hermit and Judgment each has quite a few meanings unrelated to anything but the concepts their pictures suggest. I didn’t put ‘Enlightenment has nothing to do with patience’ in the one-sentence readings, but I thought it immediately. Judgment is a sudden new perspective and Hermit is seeing things as they are – and there you have the negator, Two of Swords, in between: a story about suddenly realizing a truth or fact you did not before.

.

Hermit is the truth. Put that with a negator, and you have ‘isn’t true.’ Add Judgment’s ‘to tell’ and you have ‘Isn’t telling the truth.’ But of course these could just as easily say it is true, and I’m not telling you that. Always remember: The action goes both ways; and negators can attach (in a spread like this where all cards are equal) to any of the cards, and switch things around. Gotta watch that.

.

Hermit is seeking and is on the path, while Judgment is the revelation of the truth Hermit is seeking … but Two of Swords is in the way, changing that story to refusing to see the facts when they are brought to, or revealed to, whoever it is. But of course the same three cards could say the facts are not announced.

.

Another truism that I did not put in the list of one-sentence Tarot readings is ‘Old people don’t make noise’ or ‘You don’t shout the truth from the rooftops.’ But what is shouted from the rooftops (publicity, news!) is also not true – same cards.

.

Hermit is searching or looking for something. (Could be your car keys.) Here, he is looking for change and there is none. Or Hermit isn’t looking for change.

.

You see something clearly and tell them to stop. Or you see it and don’t tell them. Two of Swords means both ‘don’t’ and ‘stop.’ Context will usually tell you which it is – the context of the question, of the other cards, or of the known facts.

.

Not patient – Hermit and Two of Swords – also says ‘Patient when it’s not.’ You could make ‘Not patient about the surprise’ or you could make ‘Patient: It’s no surprise.’

.

Enlightenment happens when you’re not looking for it. Or ‘Not looking for enlightenment.’

.

The wisdom of quitting and starting over’ becomes ‘The wisdom of not starting over.’ You gotta watch these things. It helps to frame your question very specifically, and to remember to use the elements in your question as well as what you find in the cards’ talk to clarify what message you see.

.

Our main story – although we have a LOT of stories here today – is to search for what’s real, and not accept what you are told is.

AND NOW WITHOUT THE PICTURES:

.

Here is a dissertation upon the nature of negators. Negators and you. And how intuition breaks a tie when cards read more ways than one.

.

Our main story – although we have a LOT of stories here today – is to search for what’s real, and not accept what you are told is.

. ….. .     .

.

When you find the truth you are looking for, you tell everybody. They weren’t looking for it, so you spring a surprise upon them, and they aren’t hearing you. It’s okay; you do the same with them sometimes too. Keep searching because what you are told is the epiphany you seek (maybe upon the meaning of your life?) usually isn’t yours, it’s the news … it’s the publicity.  Could that be why they were not listening?

Tarot Readings for You for January 14, 2013 Monday(c)

GUIDANCE       So what are we analyzing and examining about life, today? The gist of our messages is to be what we are as well as to not-be what we are not. We talk about both standing up and expressing what we believe in, and not talking about what others are against. Today, the contradictions in our messages are distinctions we make, judgment calls we make.

Tarot Readings: The struggle you go through (Page of Wands + Five of Wands)

.. …..

I am not admitting how hard it is for me to go back to the way I was.

With great effort, I am not speaking the way I used to anymore.

This new language is not that difficult to speak.

It’s such an effort to speak the new language, this person isn’t trying.

Switching from one language to another isn’t that hard for him.

The struggle we go through not to let everybody know who we really are.

Suddenly I have a whole new life, without even trying.

.

Tarot Readings: Changing to a Better Person (Page of Wands + Judgment

.. … ..

I was not always this person you see: The transition was hard work.

He has not always been this great guy you see: It was a big effort to make some changes.

I am not talking about how hard I try to be good.

I quit fighting the change in myself.

He is a whole new person, he is no longer fighting.

Here’s a person who changes instantly – has no resistance to change.

.

Tarot Readings: Telling the Big News (Page of Wands + Judgment)

.. … ..

Can’t tell you what a whole new level of energy I have.

It’s no effort at all for me to say the same thing again.

Don’t fight it, it’s big news.

Fight the change, don’t be a ‘that kind of person.’

I am not going to confess what a fighter I am.

I am not going to talk about how against this I am.

The news is suppressed because because they would have a fight on their hands if they told you about it.

He isn’t talking about the fight that changed him./She isn’t talking about the fight that changed her.

It’s such a struggle not to tell the big news.

Everybody says they are against it, but they’re not.

Stand up and express – “No way!” – whatever it is you are really against.

.

Tarot Readings: Not going to change (Two of Swords + Judgment)

.. … ..

Someone is proud not to be a better person, that’s fighting words to him/her.

It is still a struggle for this fellow to talk about it – no change in that situation.

Not the kind of guy who is going to make any effort to change himself.

He’s not a fighter, he’s a handsome boy, and that isn’t news to anyone.

When you are told to change, you won’t – you fight it.

It’s nothing new with him, he always talks so forcefully like that.

I am telling myself not to get involved in that again.

You keep telling yourself things are not going to change!

Tell me again not to get involved?

I tell you again, I am not going to fight with you: no conflict!

No way am I going back to making that kind of effort to look good.

When it’s a judgment call, I am not against anything.

I have become the person I am, and am trying hard not to go back there.

Suddenly my physical energy is just gone!

Two of Swords is a negator. It means things like ‘no’ and ‘no way,’ stop, not, don’t, won’t, isn’t, end or ‘end of.’ The illustration – a blindfolded woman at night in night clothes, sitting on a stone bench with her back to a body of water, holding heavy swords crossed in such a way she is going to have to drop them – suggests nothing happening, like a big red ‘X.’

Page of Wands We have an attractive, proud, well-dressed young man (or person) who is speaking and standing up very straight, here in our illustration. This, in our Tarot Verbatim(TM) system, is generally about talking, announcing, and speech. Page of Wands is speaking up, saying what you stand for. It also means being who you are, being your best self, looking good or handsome, being well-dressed, being young. It is about the manner of one’s speech, or the language being spoken as well. It means ‘self’ and the type of person someone is. It also means ‘physical’ in any context

Judgment Here is the angel on Judgment Day awakening the sleepers to new life with his horn. Talking, announcing, speech are frequent translations for this card. Judgment also means change, a new level, to return to a former (whatever), to go back, a whole new life, suddenly, transition, news. With help from other cards, it refers to healing, recovery (of anything), or to an angel.

Five of Wands is a fight or struggle, being against, getting intensely involved, putting a lot of energy into (anything), competition, a competitive activity such as a sport, being a fighter, being an ‘aginner.’ The illustration shows fellows jousting with the boards, in obvious conflict of some sort.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

Page of Wands and Judgment set the theme of this quatrain of Rider Waite Tarot cards. They both are about talking, announcing, speech.

Page of Wands is speaking up, saying what you stand for. It also means being who you are, being your best self, looking good or handsome, being well-dressed, being young. It is about the manner of one’s speech, or the language being spoken as well. It means ‘self’ and the type of person someone is. It also means ‘physical’ in any context – like physical energy for Page of Wands and Five of Wands.

Judgment also means change, a new level, to return to a former (whatever), to go back, a whole new life, suddenly, transition, news. With help from other cards, it refers to healing or to an angel.

Just to make things interesting, the remaining cards tend to counterbalance one another:

*Two of Swords, like Death, is a negator. It means things like ‘no’ and ‘no way,’ stop, not, don’t, won’t, isn’t, end or ‘end of.’

*Five of Wands is a fight or struggle, being against, getting intensely involved, putting a lot of energy into (anything), competition, a competitive activity such as a sport, being a fighter, being an ‘aginner.’

Two of Swords’ negatory action really makes dramatic contradictions today. We have ‘trying hard to change’ in Judgment + Five of Wands. We have ‘refusing to change’ in Two of Swords and Judgment. You can go to Learn Tarot by Pictures, below, and put those negative words, the ones that Two of Swords contributes, to the Tarot Verbatim(TM) meanings of the other cards, and demonstrate to yourself how Tarot Verbatim functions like language.

Our Daily Spread for January 3, 2011 Tuesday©

Advice Today it’s about how authority – whether in the form of old people, tradition, governments, orthodoxy or just inertia – is against change and says ‘You can’t do that.’ And the changed Self says ‘I did it already.’ New realities are spawned by this process, and often it’s not a pretty one! Controlling entities talk and don’t listen. Change happens under the covers anyway, and next thing you know there’s a baby reality you have to deal with … hopefully not slaughter? ========================================================================= Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Advice (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

=========================================================== Two of Swords Page of Wands – Judgment – Emperor GROUP ANALYTICAL TAROT READING Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. Spiritual: Being a New Person (Page of Wands + Judgment) This is not your father’s new life (new year), it is yours as who you are. He makes a resolution that he is not going to be like the old man. He declares he is a changed cleaned-up person, not controlled or controlling. I’m not old, I am young again. Say it loud and clear: I AM NOT OLD! You can’t be your old self again. I am not going to change when I am old. When you change you aren’t conforming. A new lease on life means I am a new self, with no template. I am a changed person, things are not the way they have always been. Spiritual: Out with the Old (Emperor + Two of Swords) I do not acknowledge the established order; I declare a new way. Say no to the controllers in a big way. You tell a federal agency ‘No way.’ The word is a government can’t do that again. Just say no to the changes in established tradition. The young are saying no to the old again. The Establishment can’t tell you who to be. Tell the old man you’re not going to change. We say government can’t change that. The Old Man Says You Can’t (Judgment + Emperor + Two of Swords) Governments announce you can’t talk that way. Old people tell you you can’t. You change things, and some old guy says you can’t. The power people say no to youth. Old people hinder change for the better. Government tells you we can’t change. Government won’t let you be in good shape; it says so. Government puts an end to people changing things. Talking won’t change entrenched bedrock things. Speaking of change is considered anti-establishment. The Establishment tells you who not to be. Miscellaneous News federal governments don’t tell you. Doesn’t speak with ultimate authority, but reminds you. A mature person does not repeat himself. News is, the young are not going to get old. Young man, when you’re old, you don’t change. ============================================================= Now, Part Two, Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? ================================================================ Two of Swords Page of Wands – Judgment – Emperor MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING I could go on forever: These four say almost everything both ways! Judgment is change, a new phase, a new order, and it’s the New Year’s card: You know, the old year is dead, blow the horn, Happy New Year. There it is in the middle. Page of Wands to the left is a cleaned-up person (the new man), being your best self, the young (even naïve or vain) person, the person who is in good shape (in any way), to stand up for who you are, and to speak, tell, talk. Emperor to the right is the old man, the rigid hidebound soul, the powermonger or federal government or God or dictator or Establishment, tradition, the old order, orthodoxy and tyranny. Things that don’t change, that are entrenched, that are bedrock. See what I mean? You can make anything of these! And that’s before Two of Swords, a negator, joins the discussion. Two of Swords is ‘no.’ No way. Block. Can’t do that. This would be a fun spread for you to play with if you are intrigued by reading Rider Waite Tarot verbatim (or TarotVerbatim™). MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: LEARN TAROT BY THE PICTURES Page of Wands As I said up there: A cleaned-up person (the new man), being your best self, the young (even naïve or vain) person, the person who is in good shape (in any way), to stand up for who you are, and to speak, tell, talk. You can see the earnest well dressed young man proudly speaking up. Judgment As I said up there: Change, a new phase, a new order, and it’s the New Year’s card: You know, the old year is dead, blow the horn like the angel on Judgment Day, Happy New Year. Judgment usually means a change for the better, since we assume it is better to be alive than dead. Emperor Still repeating myself as above: Here we have the old man, the rigid hidebound soul, the powermonger or federal government or God or dictator or Establishment, tradition, the old order, orthodoxy and tyranny. Things that don’t change, that are entrenched, that are bedrock. It can mean both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ things, but since we tend to resent power structures and bossy old people/men, it’s often somewhat pejorative. Its illustration is a rigid bearded stern-looking old man who should be paired more with Queen of Swords than Empress … kind of like Prince Charles? Two of Swords One of the negator cards, the most emphatic, it shows a blindfolded seated woman holding heavy crossed swords in such a way it isn’t safe to put them down. Her back is to a lake or ocean and she is sitting on a stone bench, all alone. “No way.” Forbidden, you can’t, won’t happen … roadblock. Cannot proceed. All the material on this blog is copyrighted.
