We are all about home life – how when it goes right, we are likely to succeed in other moneyful areas of life associated with success. Today we salute the good wife, the woman who is assertive enough as a wife and mother to make that home life a foundation for the rest of our life. We salute her managerial abilities elsewhere than the home too. We even call her the right woman to marry.

Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles is the right way, the right path, the right price, the right anything, and it’s also paying and getting paid. It is a road or route. You can’t miss its meanings with the illustration showing that straight path that so many religions feature, and a hand with money in it over that path of success, with roses and lilies too. But sometimes you find it meaning just ‘my’ or ‘mine.’

Justice

Justice

Justice often simply means ‘should’ or the way something should be or normally is. Justice is ‘legit,’ legitimate. It means ‘straight’ and straighten out. Sometimes it means ‘sane.’ Sometimes it is about an entitlement or right. And of course it means the obvious (lawyers, judges, court proceedings, to have a legal right or legally entitled). Its illustration shows an upright crowned figure holding both the executioner’s sword and the scales of justice.

Queen of Wands

Queen of Wands

Queen of Wands has good common sense, and represents a very conscious down-to-earth, practical and pragmatic view. She is famous for making people do right. She is also the wife who organizes and manages a ‘tight ship’ at home, and the manager at work who does the same thing. She is associated with house and home, so that Queen of Wands can mean a home, an address, a native land, etc.

Now Without The Pictures

In a hurry, I drew these cards to demonstrate Open Office’s malfunctions to a tech person who was remotely connected to my computer, and stuck with them because I had already formatted them. Just like yesterday.

And strangely enough, just like yesterday, they present ‘legal wife’ in Queen of Wands as the main wife card and Justice as ‘legal.’ This pair of Tarot cards in the Tarot Verbatim™ system will also translate ‘married woman.’ But, literally speaking – and Tarot Verbatim is literal – they don’t say ‘marry the woman’ because, strictly speaking, Justice isn’t a primary marriage card … but it operates as one in its way. The ‘in its way’ is what we run into today.

Both Justice and Ace of Pentacles are ‘right.’ Ace of Pentacles all by itself says ‘right path’ or ‘right road’ and Justice echoes the ‘right.’

Justice is levelheaded and sane; Queen of Wands is the sensible woman, woman ‘with her head screwed on straight,’ and is famous for organizing and being in order.

So each of these three cards is closely associated with things being right. Making twenty sentences out of these similar cards is very awkward.

Guidance

Having to pay the price and hating to pay the price:   We have all been to that counter, haven’t we?  We talk about knowing.   Knowing the hazards and knowing the price.  Knowing the price (in money, difficulty or angst) of whatever it is you have to be, to do, or to acquire.  It is about knowing what is right and who is right, and what is wrong and who is wrong.  Then it is also about what it costs to set things straight, to, say, cure an addiction or illness.

Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles is the right way, the right path, the right anything, and is a lot of money to pay or receive. It is a road or route. You can’t miss its meanings with the illustration showing that straight path that so many religions feature, and a hand with money in it over that path of success, with roses and lilies.  Sometimes you find it meaning a possessive pronoun too.

Queen of Cups

Queen of Cups

The woman who knows, the woman who knows her man and/or believes in him, the sweet lady. The good loyal wife. She is a woo-woo gal there, staring at a funky do-dad, water pouring around her throne. Queen of Cups can talk about opinion, mental (anything), expert knowing, and figuring out.

Justice

Justice

Justice often simply means ‘should’ or the way something should be or normally is. It means ‘straight’ and straighten out. Sometimes it means ‘sane.’ Sometimes it is about a right to (whatever). And of course it means the obvious (lawyers, court proceedings, to have a right or be entitled, legal and legally). Its illustration shows an upright crowned figure holding both the executioner’s sword and the scales of justice.

Devil

Devil

Devil gets around. It means anything wrong, bad, anything dirty, corrupt, perverted, and it means sickness, addiction, problem and difficulty. It is suffering or being put-upon, as in ‘after what I’ve been through’…. Once in a while it instructs to put cuss words in the material that is being quoted, even. It is one of those cards you don’t look to for the theme because it can mean so many things. Its message is that whatever you are limited by or bound by is your choice: The chains around the neck of the couple bound to the evil one are loose. ‘The wrong use of’ is a deeper meaning of this Rider Waite card. Abuse of power or force.

Now Without The Pictures

Queen of Cups There sits the lady who knows, or the woman who has her man figured out, or who knows her man and has faith in him. She is a believer; she is loyal. She is a naif (naïve). She tends to be a secretary or other mental worker. This is such a feminine card that it will translate ‘she’ and ‘female’ fairly often.

Ace of Pentacles and Justice On either side of her are two Tarot cards that strongly mean ‘right’ – Ace of Pentacles to the left, and Justice to the right. Since they are so similar – mean many of the same things – Queen of Cups’ meanings are stronger.

Ace of Pentacles illustrates ‘the right path’ and shows a hand with money in it, thereby combining doing right with having money. It can mean these two things separately, of course, and also strongly means successful and success. Today it is: paying, receiving, and the price. Ace of Pentacles makes, of Queen of Cups, she who knows the price, knows the right way and, of course, she who is right about that.

Justice, to the right of her, means the obvious (lawyers, court proceedings, to have a right or be entitled, legal and legally) and ‘should.’ Justice ‘shoulds’ a lot. Justice makes Queen of Cups a legal secretary, a gal with the right idea, the one who knows the law, a successful lawyer, and the person to straighten things out.

Up pops the devil here in our spread. Devil usually means things like horrible, problem, wrong, brutish or nasty, evil or wicked. It also refers to disease and addictions. Being bound to something, disabled, or even physically attached belong to Devil’s dictionary too.

Queen of Cups and Devil Devil makes the sweet Queen of Cups ‘evil woman’ with the ‘wrong idea.’ She has figured out the corruption, too … or she can be wronged.

Justice and Devil Devil brings the criminal into the Justice card’s sphere of influence, making the lawyer (Justice) crooked (Devil), but also simply saying criminal lawyer, or legal problem. Justice and Devil also speak of righting a wrong, straightening out an addict, and something that is legal but immoral.

Ace of Pentacles and Devilx Devil brings the high cost of treating an addict up, when it combines with Ace of Pentacles. It is also the ‘criminal’ in the phrase ‘successful criminal’ which we follow with ‘lawyer’ because Justice is standing by.

There’s no action card today, so our messages are on the theoretical side.

Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles

A hand holds the gold over the golden road. In front, white lilies for purity, and at the end an arched trellis of roses for victory. This is a diagram of the idea that success and money accompany being on the right track or right path. Ace of Pentacles’ meanings are far-flung but stick close to this concept.

First is possessing – to have, to own. Next is to pay out, the price, to be paid, money.

Next is success. And best.

Ace of Pentacles means ‘right’ in any of its applications, which would include ‘correct.’

Then there’s perfection, being straight … you know, the straight and narrow road you see in the illustration. The right path includes a road, of course, and Ace of Pentacles often talks about a plain old road or street.

Sun

Sun

Happy. Feel good. Enjoy. Fun. Sun is the rush of relief and joy you feel when you bust loose from some stifling atmosphere. Sun is vacation time and party time, away from strictures and rules – the time when it’s your inhibitions that are in the closet. So Sun is uninhibited, spontaneous, ‘letting your hair down.’ The illustration is a toddler who sneaks naked into the yard to ride a mean pony. He is having the time of his life.

Sun is a lead card for freedom, free, be free of – any phrase about freedom.

While Sun can mean reckless behavior, it almost never picks up the danger or the disaster that is about to happen. (Once, in a legal question, Sun was ‘attractive nuisance,’ a legal term that often applies to a danger that draws children, like a backyard pool.)

Sun is one of the ‘children’ or ‘child’ cards. That extends to childish behavior, and to being a brat, being a playboy.

Sun is also a card-carrying member of the ‘leave’ tribe: to get out, to escape, to bust loose, etc. To leave the house, as the picture shows: It can be about pulling out of your driveway once in a while.

Justice

Justice

The title gives you most of Justice’s applications: legal, courts, lawyer, police, the rules. Naturally it also means what’s right, sane ,straight, sober, levelheaded, well-behaved, and so on.

Justice is also ‘rights,’ and what is deserved. It also says ‘justify’ at times.

Without another card’s contribution, Justice doesn’t say ‘legally binding’ or ‘legal agreement.’ Justice makes a marriage card say ‘legal marriage,’ for instance, but doesn’t mean that by itself. (It just gives you a whiff of marriage.)

We are not using some basic Justice words here. Google ‘Justice Tarot Verbatim’ for its comprehensive dictionary.

Now Without The Pictures

Ace of Pentacles and Justice have a lot of overlapping meanings. They mean the same words and phrases about right and straight. Sun is about having a good time, enjoying, feeling good, and being free of those rules that the other two cards represent.

A lot of our messages today celebrate enjoying a sane life and having enough money to do so. We are so happy to be paid what we are worth, what we deserve, for instance.

And in the same breath we talk about the brat getting what he deserves, and paying child support through the courts.

Overall, all’s right with the world today, and we are relieved to be free of something-or-another now.

Ace of Pentacles –  A hand holds the gold over the golden road. In front, white lilies for purity, and at the end an arched trellis of roses for victory. This is a diagram of the idea that success and money accompany being on the right track or right path. Ace of Pentacles’ meanings are far-flung but stick close to this concept.

.

First is possessing – to have, to benefit, gain. Next is to pay out, the price, to be paid, money.

.

Next is winning or success, assets and benefits.

.

Ace of Pentacles means ‘right’ in any of its applications, and also its synonym of ‘correct.’

.

Then there’s perfection, being straight … you know, the straight and narrow. Most religions have some form of this ‘right path’ concept.

.

The right path includes a road, of course, and Ace of Pentacles often talks about a plain old road or street.

Justice The title gives you many of the meanings for Justice of course. Justice owns the court house and the legal systems, as well as the law enforcement systems and agencies. If it’s litigation or lawsuit or proceedings, it involves this justice card (and its support cards, of course).

.

That’s the initial pebble in the pond. The ripples expand very logically to: fairness, right, justify – and even ‘deserve’ and ‘entitled to,’ all all their similar phrases.

.

As the ripple gets bigger and a little less obvious, Justice expands to: should, ought, sane, balanced, normal, okay, straight, going straight, and even sometimes words like ‘fine’ or ‘all right,’ as synonyms for the ‘okay’ slice of Justice’s meanings.

Three of Swords  Three of Swords you know is not good at first glance. But like all cards that make us squirm, it has its not-so-terrible meanings. First of all you can see it means heartache, heart trouble, hurt, pain, storm, bad times. One more little step, you can see it means damage.

.

Three of Swords has a huge hostility dictionary. It simply means ‘against’ very often, and it means litigation, to sue, and ‘divorce.’ It also means to quit or be fired. It means ‘fight.’ It covers the waterfront when it comes to ‘combative,’ even meaning revenge.

.

Today we see several of its, shall we say, off-label uses, words and phrases like these: as difficult as it is, infraction, mad, storm, nasty, hazards, aggravation. ‘Difficulty’ is a nice general word to remember for Three of Swords.

.

Tarot Verbatim™ operates around ‘theme cards,’ cards that in a larger (Celtic Cross, etc.) spread establish the subject of the message. Three of Swords and Tower are the two divorce cards, and also the two cards that signify quitting or getting fired – which, yes, is a kind of divorce.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

                         LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES..

… .. ….. ….

Here we have two cards that mean many of the same things, Ace of Pentacles and Justice. They both mean ‘right’ in all sorts of ways, and they both mean being straight, going straight. Justice means entitlement, and Ace of Pentacles means reward, benefit, and receive.

.

Two cards that mean similar things in a three-card spread tend to ‘bump into one another’ when it comes to phrasing. You can watch for that as you read the breakdown of the sentences here in NOW WE SHOW WHERE EACH PHRASE IN EACH SENTENCE COMES FROM and HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL THREE 2-CARD COMBINATIONS. If you want to. You will see how sometimes Ace of Pentacles is the one that says ‘right’ and sometimes it’s Justice. They switch off, and the other one uses another of its meanings. This can take some getting used to as you learn.

.

The other card is … difficulty, hurt, adverse environment, pain … Three of Swords. I saw the aphorism or cliché or saying ‘No pain, no gain’ in Three of Swords with Ace of Pentacles. Legal divorce is one of the most well-established phrases in Tarot Verbatim™ as Justice with Three of Swords (or Tower). I also saw, and giggled, ‘perfect storm’ in Ace of Pentacles as perfect and Three of Swords as storm.

.

Three of Swords – joining with . two cards that talk about things as they should be, right, having, and getting paid (fairly) – make stories about doing what’s right despite its price. These three cards also say ‘Get the suffering that’s deserved,’ but I did not go there when I wrote out the sentences, so that’s not today’s message. These three cards contrast what’s right, as Ace of Pentacles, with what’s legal, as Justice, and how that distinction is painful.

.

Our main talk today is really about how it pays (Ace of Pentacles) to be a just person (Justice), despite some pain, some hurtful experiences.

Synopsis

Our Daily Spread for January 8, 2012 Sunday©

Advice today is about knowing.  Knowing the hazards and knowing the price.  Knowing the price (in money, difficulty or angst) of whatever it is you have to pay or have to sell.  It is about knowing what is right and who is right,  and what is wrong and who is wrong.  Then it is also about what it costs to set things straight, to cure an addiction or illness.  Having to pay the price and hating to pay the price:  We have all been to that counter, haven’t we?

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Advice (above ) which is a summary of the Messages. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.)

*Go to Group Analytical Tarot Reading below.  One or more of those sentences has something to say to you.  Intuitively pick those out and decide whether to encourage or suppress them.  They are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it.  (It is a group message like a horoscope,  except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data,  so it can be specific,  accurate,  detailed and direct.  Our experiment here is  “How much more accurate is it?”)

Did you come here for your predictions? –  You are done now –  See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer,  four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards.  Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses,  feel very free to substitute.  The question in a  ‘real’  individual reading supplies at least half the information!

Devil
Ace of Pentacles – Queen of Cups – Justice

MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS:  LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

There sits The Lady Who Knows, or The Lady who Knows Her/the Man, in the middle. Queen of Cups. On both sides of her are Tarot cards that in Rider Waite (and most other decks) mean ‘right.’ Ace of Pentacles is the right way, the right whatever, money, to pay or receive money, and a road. It is to the left of her. Justice, to the right of her, means the obvious (lawyers, court proceedings, to have a right or be entitled, legal and legally) and ‘should.’ Justice ‘shoulds’ a lot.

Then there’s the Devil, an ambiguous card that mainly means ‘wrong.’  It makes the sweet Queen of Cups ‘evil woman’ with the ‘wrong idea.’ It brings the criminal into the Justice card’s sphere of influence.  It brings the high cost of treating an addict out of the Ace of Pentacles.

You can’t miss its meanings with the illustration showing that straight path that so many religions feature, and a hand with money in it over that path of success, with roses and lilies too.

Queen of Cups The woman who knows, the woman who knows her man and/or believes in him, the sweet lady. The good loyal wife. She is a woo-woo gal there, staring at a funky do-dad, water pouring around her throne.

Justice often simply means ‘should’ or the way something should be or normally is. It means ‘straight’ and straighten out. Sometimes it means ‘sane.’ And of course it means

Devil gets around. It means anything wrong, anything, dirty, corrupt, perverted, and it means sickness, addiction, problem and difficulty. It is one of those cards you don’t look to for the theme because it can mean so many things. Its message is that whatever you are limited by or bound by is your choice: The chains around the neck of the couple bound to the evil one are loose. ‘The wrong use of’ is a deeper meaning of this Rider Waite card.
