Ace of Swords

It’s all one way, glorious victory or ignominious defeat, winner take all – no gray zone, no compromise, no choice, no excuses. It’s an order – you are impelled, you have to – or you make him, her, or them do or be whatever-it-is. It’s a total whatever-it-is; it’s totally, absolutely, unequivocally whatever-it-is. It is the most, too – the most whatever-it-is – often the most important, because Ace of Swords is first priority … is urgent. Even when it just translates ‘want,’ there’s a whiff and a sizzle of satisfaction. Yes, Nine of Cups can often translate ‘satisfaction.’

Nine of Cups is the feeling you get when things go your way too: pleased (and wanting to please, or pleasing someone), happy, content, proud of oneself, feels so good, what I enjoy ….Whatever they are, there’s a lot of them, there’s more and more of them, and they’re moving fast – maybe one after the other.

For certain, everything you want is yours, we say here, and you get what you want in a hurry too; and that is the main message of these three Rider Waite Tarot cards. They also say everybody wants you to win, and everyone is pleased with you. And more and more of your cravings are under control. You overcome so much you are content – you are happy and proud of yourself because of one victory after another. The main card that makes your dream or dreams come true today is of course Nine of Cups: Your Wish Is Granted. But it’s Ace of Swords that issues the guarantee of it.

Ace of Swords is winning, certainty, being in control, achieving the challenge, overcoming. Ace of Swords is top priority, important and urgent. It is also what has to be done: It means ‘must.’

Eight of Wands is one of the cards that Tarot Verbatim differs from most other systems regarding. Here, it is a proud leading member of the speak/tell/say tribe, specializing in written communications, from a text to documents, from a data bank to a library. It means information. As the leading communication Tarot card in Tarot Verbatim, it often translates: say, said, tell, talk, and any such word or phrase.

Eight of Wands also means accumulating, increasing, more and more, much. It even indicates the plural of a nearby card – sometimes, as in twice today, just adding an ‘-s.’ Words that contain the idea of a lot of things belong to Eight of Wands: everything, everyone, every time, and so on. The wands are flying through the air, so Eight of Wands can indicate rush, speed, fast, quickly, and – once in a while – airborne.
