Tarot Readings for You for July 4, 2018 Wednesday© Email

Here’s a special Wednesday treat for all of you who do your own Tarot using this site as a library of combined meanings of Tarot cards. The treat is a peek into why your question should include pertinent factors that the cards are not precise about. The big factors are dates, person(s), and time.

Ask ‘who did it’ and you get a description you may not recognize. Ask the motive of who did it, and you will get a description of the scene that usually tells you whodunit. Don’t ask ‘when’ about anything because Tarot is mass-consciousness based ‘out there’ or ‘in there’ somewhere, and isn’t earthbound with clocks and calendars. Instead, you ask ‘Will X happen in Y time?’ as I call it. Not ‘When will he call?’ but ‘Will he call this week?’ That converts the question into a yes-or-no one which Tarot will answer well (or pretty well) giving details that are applicable (cogent).

First thing here is the question I did answer for our client ‘as modified.’ She wants to know ‘what a relationship is going to become,’ not specifying the relationship. Tarot Verbatim is fine (is excellent, really) with that. With no background, however, once the cards talk about marriage and leaving or switching, you as the reader don’t know who’s who. The answer is to be from Client’s perspective, but you don’t know which position Client occupies unless that is in the ‘history.’ And there’s no history required in these cold Email readings. This is why the instructions on the Email Reading tab suggest saying whether love interest is married

I wrote Client, and when she did not respond right away, simply modified the question to include just Dude and her. That is the first set of spreads you see.

Then Client answers with history and perspectives. Tarot did rise to the occasion in its answer.

THEN I include the original set of cards which are confusing to apply if you don’t know the history. Now, you can put these together and see how to handle this – how to phrase a general relationship question which gives no identity of parties or background.

If you subscribe to Tarot Email Training, you know things like this about doing readings and forming questions. Click Here to try that out.

You can also get email readings just like these for a mere $18.75. (Sometimes you wait. These are underpriced because I love doing them, so other parts of the work come first, AND the email readings require peace-and-quiet which isn’t scheduled on my calendar (or yours?).

And by the way, you can also call for a telephone reading and ask that the pertinent cards be identified and explained for you. I do a lot of that.

Question: What will I see this relationship situation actually become in the real world in the next, say, three months?

Note the last cards of the last three spreads are about marriage: King of Wands is the husband card in Tarot Verbatim™; Queen of Wands, the wife card; Ten of Cups, one of two good marriage cards.

Emily writes to Client, re the first set of spreads:

This looks like a married man who has ‘the other woman.’  And it looks like that stressed guy you can’t make up his mind but is being affectionate.

If I type up what I have, it may not make sense without me knowing who’s who.

I will wait a while for you to respond, and write these spreads down, and ask the question again limiting the answer to just him and you.

Client writes to Emily re the above Note:

Hi Emily,

Thank you for this.

He is not married, but recently divorced with all sorts of drama with manipulative ex and 2 very manipulative/manipulated kids.

In this sense, even though we are very much in a committed relationship (it’s been almost 2 years, and we met well after his separation but during the final months of divorce litigation), I guess I am the other woman because of all the claws and fangs still gripping him and pulling him in directions his heart does not agree with?

I should add that he has said many time that he will “never get married again”… perhaps he is conflicted about that belief and the prospect of me walking away from him and the drama that he may have to continue to deal with for the next several years…

Emily writes to Client,

This thread of conversation here is a perfect example of the limitations of verbatim Tarot – a perfect example of what should be put in a question to get a focused answer (because the question best contains what the cards are likely to be imprecise about).

I am thinking of publishing it along with the original spread that I replaced when I asked another question limiting the answer to ‘just you and he.’

How do you feel about that?  Your name isn’t mentioned, of course.

Client writes to Emily

Sure, go for it.  Thanks!

Tarot Readings for You for March 8, 2017 Wednesday©

This is an email reading which demonstrates how clearly an idea can be presented over and over with different Rider Waite Tarot cards. Four times, out of five spreads, the first card means change. Tarot is a consistent violator of the Laws of Random Distribution, I learned in lectures on that subject. To repeat the professor’s experiment, I went looking for a Tarot deck.

The Querant (Questioner) gave me permission to show you this. – Emily

.

Question: Financial.  What is going to happen with my job?

Tarot Readings for You for December 16, 2013 Monday©

Guidance     Today’s message to me is simple and limited:  Get out of this place I’m at …. I’ve got to do that … and things will be better.  Things will get back to normal if I get out of this space.  I’ve got to make a change here, escape the harm and have things the way they should be.  There is a whole new life in the real physical world for sure when I put all this behind.  The same thing is being said in different breaths like a mantra or rosary.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in!

People love this place! Our site is divided into four sections: Guidance, Tarot Readings, Learn Tarot by Observation, and Learn Tarot by Pictures.
If you just want your daily look ahead, Guidance and Tarot Readings are all you need. ‘Guidance’ (above) is a summary of what the cards are telling visitors to be aware of this day

‘Group Tarot Cards Reading’ (just below this) is the actual word-for-word messages from the pictures of the four cards you see – to everyone. These readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. So, go ahead and pick the sentences you feel are yours and decide whether to encourage or reject them for yourself.

Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow. The family of commenters here would love for you to join in (the very last thing, at the bottom).

Tarot Readings: Recovery Back to Normal (Judgment and Hierophant)

Recover to normal by avoiding just one main thing.

Exit where you are for a new life that is absolutely what it should be.

Recovery of normal vitality is underway.

Physical regeneration is assured with time.

Things aren’t back to normal yet but will be for sure the way you are heading.

Tarot Verbatim: Got to head in a new direction (Ace of Wands and Six of Swords)

I have to get things back to normal and put this behind me.

Announce that (he/she/it) has to behave or leave.

A news flash that I ought to avoid sex.

A whole new sex life, not the same old thing anymore.

I have to head in the direction of where I ought to have gone.

Gotta get out of this place and get back to the real world.

This is depressing: We have to get back to what was normal before.

Getting out of this scene and going back to normal sex.

It’s okay when you have to relocate for a new life.

Announce that you are out of here unless things are absolutely the way they should be.

Have to go back to being straight and avoiding this scene.

We’ve got to head in a new direction for things to be right again.

Miscellaneous Tarot Readings

Verbal orders are to depart as usual.

Told I have to leave physically.

An evacuation-to-safety order is announced.

When you straighten just one thing out, there will be a change for the better.

In first place officially, we have avoided a repeat of the past.

Not mediocre anymore, a surprise achievement.

Things aren’t back to the way they have always been, anymore, but they will be for sure.

Forced to conform to get back in since (you) left.

Repeat the main point that we have gotten away from decency.

Now,  Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim™ thing works? If so,

*Go to Learn Tarot by Observing section below. This tells about the combined four pictures in the Tarot Readings – the pictures above here.  It explains how these four cards get together in your mind to make the messages.

*Go to Learn Tarot by Pictures.  It is what each of the four cards, by itself, has to say.  It shows you how that illustration makes that card’s meanings in today’s Spread. All the words of each Tarot card reading you see here are a phrase-by-phrase translation of the scene pictured on those cards: no filler, no psychic impressions, no spirit guide. Word-for-word Tarot Verbatim™.

You can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim™ works.

This is a group reading, with no Questioner and no Question to limit what the cards say, so there’s more variety – even contradictions – and also the pronouns are more flexible. If it feels like it’s yours, and it says ‘he,’ and you’re a ‘she,’ feel free to adopt it anyway.

Six of Swords

Judgment – Hierophant – Ace of Wands

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

Judgment and Six of Swords are a change and a new life. Both are a better new life. Both are leaving the old life behind. Judgment has the new life (resurrection and regeneration) as its main meaning. It speaks of a quick change. Its tone is one of joy. The change it speaks of is sudden, even surprising. Look for it to indicate bodily healing and quick recovery – ‘bouncing back.’ Six of Swords, on the other hand, is about a more gradual and far less dramatic change. It is getting out of the bad place or situation, and life will be better because it cannot get worse. Its emphasis is on escape and putting the past (the cargo) behind. The escape that is pictured is with help, and often that is the case when Six of Swords appears. It means to head off in a different direction (even referring to the map). Its tone is one of depression. It too indicates recovery from illness, but usually a gradual recovery.

Judgment and Hierophant ‘Hierophant’ means ‘pope.’ With Hierophant sitting next to Judgment, we have a return (Judgment) to normal (Hierophant), a going back to the way things should be, or going back to the usual way. Note that Hierophant often says ‘should’ or ‘ought to.’ Judgment also means an announcement, so the news (Judgment) is ‘It’s okay. It’s the way it should be,’ say as a diagnosis of an illness. In the same vein “They tell you you passed,” regarding a test, and ‘Told to behave,’ since Hierophant of course means to behave. Note that Judgment also means ‘again’ or ‘the second time,’ which, with Hierophant, may be ‘does no harm the second time around’ of a person in your life.

Judgment and Hierophant Hierophant is the usual, average, normal, mediocre, accepted routine thing, as well as the harmless and decent thing. Surface appearances, like the routines of a religion, is how Hierophant comes to mean ‘physical.’ It is about the physical, real-world aspect of anything. Anyway, it does mean physical. So Judgment and Hierophant say: physical regeneration, physical change, physically restored, physically reappear.

Judgment and Hierophant And while we are on the subject of these two, note that they both have a religious theme. Judgment shows an angel, and Hierophant is the pope. Together, they could say the pope is speaking in his official capacity (ex cathedra), say.

Hierophant and Ace of Wands You have to (Ace of Wands) behave yourself (Hierophant). Absolutely (Ace of Wands) normal or the same old thing (Hierophant). Physical (Hierophant) sex act (Ace of Wands). Having the right to (Hierophant) give an order (Ace of Wands). ‘You will pass’ (Hierophant) for sure (Ace of Wands).

These four cards are fairly free of pronouns. Anything goes there. The message is very limited: I have to put this behind me and straighten out, go in a new direction, go back, recover. That sentiment is in a vacuum here.

HERE ARE PHRASES FOR ALL SIX COMBINATIONS

The main point that we have gotten away from.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

Judgment shows the resurrection scene of Christian vision, with the angel and the trumpet, and people standing up in their coffins. Another of the Middle Ages cards designed to sanctify Tarot. Main meanings are to change, again, the second time, suddenly, to go back to a former state, to recover or rejuvenate (almost any ‘re’ concept). A whole new life. A big announcement or publicity. To speak up or speak out. To shout. A loud noise.

Hierophant refers to the official story, the sanctioned traditional belief or way of being or doing, the usual routines, the average or normal, median or mediocre level of anything. It also means harmless, decent, innocent, etc. Illustration is the pope doing a ritual, monks kneeling before him.

Ace of Wands The main meaning of Ace of Wands, is must – the imperative. ‘You gotta,’ it says. ‘Achievement’ and ‘absolutely’ are other main words for Ace of Wands, and ‘for sure’ or ‘assured’ – even ‘guaranteed.’ It is also sex (especially re males) and force or being aggressive or assertive (hand with a board in it, yes). That’s an order. It is also primacy so it reads ‘number one,’ ‘the main one,’ and ‘the most important,’ etc. Ace of Wands is also vitality or virility because of the sprouts on the board, and the board looking for all the world like a penis.

Six of Swords Let’s get out of here and go to a better space. Things will be better, they can’t get any worse. With time, the situation will be better. A woman and child are leaving with the clothes on their backs, with the help of a friend. They are going to have a better life. Often, Six of Swords means ‘anymore.’

Tarot Readings for You for February 25, 2013 Monday(c)

Guidance     “I never met an honest man who claimed to be one; it’s the crooks who have the look” says it all today.  We point out that claims to fairness and righteousness are the hallmark of something or someone who is out to take advantage of you, or to mooch.  But another part of the message tells you you are on the right course now that you have your own interests firmly in mind, that hard times are over due to getting out of debt, and that ‘Now that I have gotten away  from just assuming I’m right, I’m headed for being right.’

Instructions:

Appearances are deceiving, you are headed out of bad times and into the best.

Appearances are deceiving, you are headed out of bad times and into the money.

When I get away from just assuming I’m right, I’m headed for being right.

Since I left the place that claimed they were paying me, I’m doing all right.

Getting out of debt gives you enough money to be okay.

I’m on my way out of being under the influence; being straight is a precious asset.

Hey, I quit being misled, and have my own idea of what is right.

Tarot Readings:  Games People Play, Pretenses, Labels and Serving Them (Six of Wands)

Am getting away from fooling people and getting onto the path of being for real.

Avoid the games, just pay the stated price.

Pretending to be a decent person is heading away from the best course.

Being on the right path means heading away from falling for what has that label.

You are supposed to serve interests other than your own, or they won’t make money off of you.

You will not encounter an honest person who claims to be one:  It’s the crooks who have the look.

Success is yours when you avoid being programmed by a mindset or a dogma.

When you make a commitment to someone who takes advantage of you, it’s best to leave.

Anything that wants to take advantage presents itself as righteous; that’s a good time to leave.

I got out of a religious organization that mooched my money.

 .

Tarot Readings:  On the Road (Six of Swords + Ace of Pentacles)

Leave here, get on the road; this only seems like a good place.

Avoid the usual road that has been safe:  There’s a trap on it today.

Get off the road when you are only pretending to be sober.

You get on a road that is mis-marked.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

Here we are contrasting what is real, genuine, rewarding for you, and the right path (Ace of Pentacles) with what is deceptive and serving interests other than your own (Six of Wands) and labeled as approved (Hierophant).  The remaining card means to leave one place or person or position for another.  It usually means to leave a bad scene behind and head into a hopeful one.  So our story is very defined for today.

Hierophant and Six of Wands says ‘Appearances (Hierophant) are deceiving (Six of Wands).’  Six of Swords and Ace of Pentacles says ‘Leaving a bad scene (Six of Swords) for a good rewarding one (Ace of Pentacles).’

I never met an honest man who claimed to be one; it’s the crooks who have the look” says it all today.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

.

Hierophant     is the official story, the respectable front we present to the world and that the world presents to us.  (Ever wonder why?)  It represents the dogma the public is served, the public ritual of the Catholic Church, as opposed to, say, what theologians know.  That’s the pope there in the illustration, doing a ritual with some monks or priests. Hierophant is about the label, the ‘clean nose,’ the hypocrisy, the facade that keeps us liking one another and our institutions.

Six of Wands   is us falling for that seal of approval, that label, that dogma, buying into the facade believing ‘something’s in it for me.’  We join a campaign, we work for a company, we take up with a person … that we think ‘is on our side,’ and it turns out we’ve been had.  Often it’s self-deception here.  Often it’s our greed that got us into it in the first place.  Our self-interest versus their self-interest. This sums up a lot of human history.

Six of Swords   Starting over is just ahead.  This is the exodus.  Now that we have lost everything, we finally leave.  Times are going to be better because of this sorry situation we are getting out of.  The bad days are over, the good days are to come.  This is a hopeful card in Tarot Verbatim(TM).

Ace of Pentacles    The right path, the right-hand path, the straight and narrow, the right way, the right road:  That’s Ace of Pentacles.  Success.  Money in hand.  (The price to pay, too.)  It equates spiritual and financial success, and is also about victory (the trellis at the rear of the path).  It means ‘Yes,’ especially as the Self card.

EXPLANATIONS:  (Skip over this and the gray tags.)

Each and every ‘Tarot Reading’ sentence you see is a literal interpretation of the four Rider Waite Tarot cards drawn and pictured for today. (The literal interpretation is from the illustration on each card.) These sentences are put together by only combining the phrases of what each cards says. In other words, there are NO “filler” phrases added just to make full sentences, and no psychic ability or spirit guide is ever involved.

*Without a question* in a group reading to focus the answer, the four Tarot cards can mean quite contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no,’ ‘never’ or ‘not.’ These negative modifiers can apply to any one of the other cards.
*Without a question* in a group reading, the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) are more flexible. Whenever you see a pronoun in parentheses, please *feel very free* to substitute another pronoun than the one used. I try to drop pronouns when possible, which, if you’ve noticed, can make for awkward phrasing.

Now in an ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question and thereby supplies at least half the information! In an individual situation, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading we cannot do that and so we get a variety of sentences.

Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers know this!)

Tarot, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of flexibly addressing any group, including all of the visitors that come to this site. It can also address people you might not even know personally, such as all the people at your job who have a say in whether or not you get a raise.

We have been wondering here lately whether the Tarot Verbatim(TM) sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than they are for people who visit this site only once in awhile or for a short time. Would you help us with a comment please, if you have not been a regular visitor? Just let us know if the sentences are relevant to you. So far, people say they do apply.

Return to this site often and you can put all this together and intuitively see yourself how Tarot Verbatim(TM) works. Regular visitors actually learn to read Rider Waite Tarot cards with very little effort.

Guidance   Ever notice no matter how repulsive a person’s behavior and values are, they manage to put some kind of an acceptable moral face on themselves? Ever wonder why they bother? – or how they can think they are okay? Yet there’s nothing like a walk on the wild side that turns out scary to wonderfully rearrange a person’s values and behavior. Today we poke our noses into the wrong side of the street.

Are YOU here for the first time? Come in! People love this place! Full instructions are at the bottom.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

When you see Moon and Hierophant together, you know ‘Something’s up.’ Moon is the dark side, is abnormal; Hierophant is whatever is officially accepted as good and respectable, and means ‘normal.’ Neither of them will yield an inch on their respective territories.

Then you see Six of Swords. Whew. It means bad things are getting better, the worst is over (and Moon means ‘the worst’) and putting something (the vice of Moon) behind you for a better life.

Lastly, we have the helpful young man, also known as The Warm Puppy boyfriend or the friend (whereas one of Moon’s meanings is ‘enemy.’ He is polite and behaves himself, and Hierophant also means conventional, accepted behavior.

So right in the middle, we have the problem or the dark side, and surrounding it, we see ‘good stuff’: The good man, the good side, and things are getting better. That’s our story.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES

Knight of Cups is civil and civilized. He is the good friend, the first to offer to help (and do it). He has an engaging personality and is outgoing (makes the first move, introduces himself). He is cute: See how he and the horse he rides in on are drawn in curved lines and colored in pastels?
Moon is when you’re lost, crazy, ill, grieving – the dark side and the worst of times. Moon is when nothing makes sense and you know it. Moon is the creepy atmosphere and bad spirits that infest it. Moon is bad magic and hell, and whatever is odious to us.

Hierophant is whatever’s fit to print … is ‘face.’ It is specifically about the public teachings of a religion (That’s the pope there in the red robe.) as opposed to its actual ones to cognoscenti. The same way righteous people present that moral ‘face’ to the world. The same way we all tell ourselves we are right and the world is wrong about us.

Six of Swords Better times are ahead because we are getting out of here, getting over this, putting that situation behind us. Leaving with the shirt on our back but looking ahead hopefully in the dismal fog.

I N S T R U C T I O N S & Explanations (Comments are below this.)

Did you come here just for your predictions? – If so, you are done when you finish reading the sentences of Group Analytical Tarot Cards Reading.

Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you.  They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .

Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)

Horoscopes are group readings too.

Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)

Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things,  especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.

Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible,  especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads.  When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute.  Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.

The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

Our Daily Spread for July 1, 2011

Advice is that perspective rules: The relationship of what you think to what you do. You decide to avoid doing the usual thing in the routine way, and you do it your own unique creative way. Or, you see that ‘you ain’t doin’ it right’ and follow the instructions. Or you see you are not doing right in the moral sense, and change your ways. The contrast is whether to depart from the usual, the routine, the proper the orthodox. Neither choice is preferable or right all the time. =========================================================================

Is this the first time you come here? Well … what to do:

*Go to Daily Message Tarot Analysis below. At least one of those sentences has something to say to you. Pick those out. They are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. (It is a group message like a horoscope, except Tarot isn’t based on someone else’s birth data, so it can be specific, accurate, detailed and direct. Our experiment here is “How much more accurate is it?”)

The Question for weekdays is: “Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them.”

The Question for weekends is stated right on top on those days. Comment or call if you have a suggestion for a question.

(Some days are ‘keep an eye open for’ and some days are ‘green light, go fast.’)

*Go to Advice to apply what those sentences say (in the best way) for you. (Advice is everyone’s favorite part.) Did you come here for your predictions? – You are done now – See you tomorrow.

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things especially when the Spread has a card that negates other cards. Without a question also the pronouns in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information!

======================================================================== Hierophant Knight of Pentacles, Magician, Six of Swords DAILY MESSAGE TAROT ANALYSIS Tell the visitors here something useful and meaningful to them. Creative Thinking Perspective First keep the usual ways to do this in mind, and then depart from there! Most importantly, just avoid doing what everybody else is doing. Getting yourself/himself out of mindsets is the first order of importance. He isn’t doing what the average macho guy does anymore. When you get past the phase of how it’s supposed to be done, you focus on your own way to do it. He deliberately avoids orthodox activities. A whole different perspective or ‘slant’ on doing the same thing. Yes, he makes up his mind to depart from the norm. He studiously avoids rote actions or rituals. Keep your mind on what you are doing, avoid protocol (doing it the usual way). He is a tough guy whose actions are out of the ordinary. Conformity Perspective Now that that’s over, you know the right way to do it! Think about how it will look (your reputation) before you do it. He comes to realize he isn’t doing what he is supposed to anymore. Yes, you know this is not the way it’s supposed to be done. He is deciding from now on to go straight (do what is acceptable). He sees the proper way to go to get it done. ======================================================================== Now, Part Two,

Do you want to know a little, or a lot, about how this Tarot Verbatim ™ thing works? If so,

========================================================================= Meanings and Illustrations: Observation of the Spread We have four unrelated cards, no theme, but they express pretty much the same thing. Knight of Pentacles is focus, the most important, deliberately. Magician is acting, doing. Both these cards are very male oriented. Then we have putting it behind and going off in another direction, or avoiding. Then we have the Hierophant (pope) – the usual way, orthodoxy, protocol, the way it’s supposed to be or is accepted. The main idea you get from this cafeteria is to do it your own way and avoid protocol, to have a different idea. But of course it reads the reverse way as well – to quit what you are doing and do right or do (it) the right way. The moral of the story here is: Perspective rules. Meanings and Illustrations: Individual Rider Waite Tarot Cards Knight of Pentacles is focus, to have one thing on your mind, the most important. It is also deliberate, aforethought. As a person, this is a touch guy, a macho man. This is the short dark fella on the short dark horse. Magician is the male principle: action. Conjugate the verb ‘to do,’ and go on with the verb ‘make.’ To bring about, to bring down. Illustration is the male magician in the act of making something happen (or not happen) with his wand. Six of Swords is to head off out of here for a better life, another direction. To avoid. We aren’t using its other meanings today. Illustration in Rider Waite Tarot is a mother and child leaving a bad scene with the help of a friend who has a boat. Hierophant: It’s all about behaving, doing right, following procedures, ritual, rote, the way things are supposed to be, the rigid mentality. The picture is the pope which is what ‘Hierophant’ means.

Our Daily Spread for Feb. 23, 2011

Knight of Wands Hierophant, Six of Swords, Nine of Pentacles

Business and Other Perspectives: Headed away from bad times and toward normality.  Fast progress toward having a life of your own. Things are going to be the way they should be.  She is on her way to being independent. Leaving the place of safety behind, getting out and about away from the home front. Is getting away from religion and pursuing her own lifestyle. She travels to another town and isn’t playing it safe anymore. Since he left her and she is single, she isn’t behaving herself anymore. Isn’t the average person anymore, she has it made and is in the fast lane. To get herself ahead in business, a woman puts the rules aside.

Romance Perspectives: He is pursuing an independent minded lady who is long past being the average person. She does her own thing with fast men, has put the rules behind her confidently. She doesn’t need anybody so men pursue her: Things aren’t the way they used to be. Left morality behind and has the good life as a single woman guys chase. She isn’t your average good woman anymore, she is single in the fast lane. She isn’t playing by the rules anymore, he can come to her. He is on his way in life and she has already arrived.  Together, they put mundane times behind them. It was hard to get this many interpretations out of this layout.  Two of the Tarot cards mean ‘to leave’ in different ways, one means average safe by-the-book things, and the remaining one means pursuit or fast progress.  Not much to work with; it means what it means.  Advice is that leaving the mindset you are used to behind and being independent is what gets you ahead.  Ha!  I will add that sentence right now!  Done!

Meanings and Illustrations:

Hierophant: This is the nice normal safe moral by-the-rules churchy thing.  The priests bow before the pope in his traditional outfit as they have for how many hundreds of years?

Six of Cups: Oh, let’s just get out of this stale environment and make a better life elsewhere.  It has to be better, it has been so dismal.  These people are refugees escaping from some bad experiences. Nine of Pentacles: Well, doesn’t she have the life?  She has money, her own place, and she does whatever she wants in her own sweet time, symbolized by the snail and the falcon, in her vineyard.  She has arrived, thank you very much, and doesn’t do you any favors:  Mind your own business! Knight of Wands: He too is getting out of town and movin’ on up, making fast progress.  See Dick run.

Rider Waite Tarot-2-23-11b

He gives her gifts and money, and worries that he is under her spell

Six of Wands Six of Pentacles, Six of Cups, Nine of Swords

Romantic Perspectives: He gives her gifts and money, and worries that he is under her spell. This is sweet love like the old days when the man paid and worried about keeping up appearances. He finds himself putting his own interests aside and worrying about making his woman’s life sweet, giving her things. She fears he is just pretending when he pays her such sweet romantic attention. He is afraid how he will look giving her all this loving attention. He mistrusts himself and torments himself when he does what he should in a romance. He is spending money on this gal and worries that she isn’t sincere. The sweet young thing deceived him into making her payments, and now he lives to regret this. Business and Other Perspectives: Worry that the payments on the old house are not in your best interest. Making payments when you trust is one thing, but worrisome when you mistrust. Afraid he has been tricked and lulled into putting money into this. Worries about child support being misappropriated. When someone you placed your trust is disloyal, you are hurt. Double crossed an old friend over money and feel so bad about it. Was misled and paid too much for a cute house:  Up nights worrying about it. He invested in a sweet li’l gal who was conning him and is heartsick. Well, two similar cards in today’s second spread are the Six of Cups which in Rider Waite Tarot shows a little boy giving a little girl flowers and means trust, and the Six of Wands which in Rider Waite Tarot means deceive or deceit.  Two other similar cards here today are the Six of Pentacles and the Six of Cups, both of which mean ‘to give.’  The uninvolved card is (of course) the spoiler card, the dreaded Nine of Swords:  up nights crying, worry, nightmare and such. Advice is that when you have already agreed to pay for something that isn’t worth the money, it is too late and all you can do is regret it.  This could easily be a warning to pay attention (Six of Pentacles) to the actual, as opposed to the real, value lest you be deceived … and this can apply to more than money; it can apply to giving away your trust (your heart) as well.

Meanings and Illustrations:

Six of Pentacles: He is paying them exactly what they are worth, weighing his coins carefully.  A fair price. Six of Cups: He gives her this gift because he loves her, she is so sweet.  This is the old fashioned love.  This house is so cute I trusted (the realtor?)  The atmosphere is so warm and fuzzy I trusted her. Nine of Swords: Oh, the pain!  Oh, the grief.  Worry, worry, worry, wah, wah wah!  Up nights holding my head in regret. Six of Wands: Sneaky Pete here, out to getcha.  Things are not what they seem.  What is a victory, a win, now, is going to be an insidious liability.  You are being had.  This guy who is on your side now is out for himself, using you.  Even his horse doesn’t trust him!
