Knight of Cups

We like to see him come around here. He is such good company. He fits in anywhere because he makes it his business to. He can be an agreeable flirt. He is Johnny Depp in Don Juan de Marco. (Didn’t see that movie? – if you’re a girl, run down there and get it now!) All those curved relaxed lines and pastel shades even on his pony, not to mention the wings on his head, tell who he is.

Queen of Wands

Ten of Pentacles is one of three family cards.  The other two are positive ones.  This one can mean ‘family’ in a larger sense too:  the culture,  the neighborhood,  the mob,  the political arena.  It is about family problems.  The illustration depicts a typical family quarrel scenario,  with Grandpa on the throne smugly possessing the family dogs and the couple having a  ‘discussion’  that upsets the kid who pulls on mama’s clothes as daddy stares in the other direction while wife talks to him.

Strength

Nine of Wands is an uneasy feeling you get when people don’t approve of you and you expect some consequences from the situation.  It is more of a chronic situation usually.  The head wound on the fellow indicates he has already fought this battle and expects to have to again.  So this situation is a headache.

Three of Cups

Three musketeers. We each make more by pooling our resources and splitting the profit equally – so we get along fabulously. In today’s Rider Waite Tarot spread, the emphasis is on women, so it’s more about their doing something together than it is about investing. If (in some other spreads) the emphasis is on investing, this joint venture need not be all females.

Queen of Wands and Strength are assertive strong influential, even powerful women who are matter-of-fact about their superior status.

Queen of Wands is in charge of a place (home, business, whatever) and is practical, sensible, no-nonsense. The wife, too.

Strength is a hands-on lady as well, more inclined to handle opposition, to overcome (even her own traits or weaknesses) and to refer to spiritual matters. She often brings up the word ‘handle’ and ‘solution.’ She also prevents.

Three of Cups is women together as a team, as girlfriends, as joint venturers, cooperating. (Knight of Cups also means cooperating.) Here, today, Three of Cups pluralizes the other two women cards, making a can’t-be-missed point about women being involved together in some enterprise.
